yah, i hv the animal playmat...the 15mm one. surface not as smooth as the world map (i hv that at my MIL's) and i was initially not so pleased...but actually, its ok la. hannah sleep on it sometimes. We try to put a cloth nappy for her to sleep on else her face will get "pattern"! hahaha!

cos i really dunno wat to do wif hannah so do flashcards lor. :p same reason why i take her to gym and swimming. oso to get her exposed early so that she's more adaptable. But hor, gym n swimming hard work on us parents cos gotta shuttle here and there!

It helps that my MIL do flashcards with her in the day. then at evening, when i go back i do 1 session with her. Oso my duty to do chinese cos no one else can do.
If you dun hv much expectations like me (other than she is having fun), doing flashcards is not difficult...not much time/patience required. :p If any time i see Hannah not interested, i just simply stop. I dun push her.

Nowadays, all she wants is to grab the cards and put into her mouth!! she's probably staring at it intently to wait for an opportune moment to make a grab for it and place in her mouth!

Lil, actually most stage 1 FM can be taken only till 6 months. From what i remembered Enfalac can be taken till 12 months and the newly launched NAN can be taken from 10 mths to 3 years.

Och, have 4 settings..will go home to check tonite hopefully can find out what's the problem causing so much noise. Usually how long can your bb stay in the jumeperoo without fussing?

Kimi, good that Mandy got such big appetite next time you dun have to worry about having a fussy eater. Usually 2 solid meals for their age now but every bb is different if she wants more why not as long as her milk intake is sufficient so that got enough calcium and she is not overweight. It could be growth spurt since your bb is about 6 mths? Growth spurt happens at 3, 6 and 9 mths....but evee hor no growth spurt at all leh.

Afcai, the kk carnival really got good price. My friend told me last sat but no chance to go. Btw, why not consider buying a thin mattress for your bb to play on and learning to crawl? JL sells those (foldable) with cartoon pics think about $29 or you can buy from those neighbourhood shops selling mattress and pillows. I got one from JL last time but haven let Evee use since must let Evee utilise her jumperoo first.

when she first started out hor, she was only in there for 5 minutes, cos she doesn't feel steady in it. but nowadays, she can stay there for half hour or more.

Next round easier liao cos only need to show one dot card representing the final result for each equation nia. So u can just prepare ur equations b4hand n only bring those relevant cards home lor. Haiyo, at least u can do chinese...I m relying on my hb to do chinese but he travels so much. Until now still haven't started. Lawrence say I shd teach Chinese also even if I dun pronounce correctly. He ask hb to reinforce those words when he has time n bb will correct his intonation. Dunno true or not. Scared next time bb's Chinese become koyak bcos of me.

LiL, you can switch directly from step 1 to step 2 or some ppl prefer to mix the both. my #1 could not take step 2 even after 7 months cos the contents is oilier, thus she has diarrhea. i changed her from similac to enfalac that time till 1 yr old. not all step 1 is till 12 months. and dun rush from step 2 to step 3. the change of taste is bigger thus baby will drink less. and most importantly, step 3 contains sucrose which is sugar. so if you want to introduce sugar to bb later, hold on to your step 2! some step 2 last till almost 3 yrs old.

qsg, i basically do nothing with my kids except bring them to shopping....haha!
 
kimi, my fren was b'feeding til 6 months on demand. then once she introduce fm, her bb just sleep thru the night and was very contented with 2 solids a day. you can try. but should still bf when you can. how i wish i could do that. i've been spending tons of $ on fm! you can give her fm during the feed b4 sleep also can. : )

My chinese oso half past 6 one...i ask the teacher to write han yu pin yin for me. but at least i can pronounce ok. My hb, MIL, SIL all pronouce with some funny accent! Faintz!

Kinder clinic expensive loh. Dun think u seen me b4. I only there once in mid Dec for Denise review. As for the milk powder, most of my frens giving bb Similac or Nan since I dun like Nestle so Similac is the only choice. Dumex failed to buy my heart over liao lah. Nw Densie still drinking step 1 I oso paronoid check n check leh....
But I think I'm really the 'heng' one cos my cousin oso giving her daughter Dumex everythg ok.

Ya, do teh flashcard if you hv time. BBs really enjoy learning one!! Thanks for the advice on moving up FM stages. Din know that there is quite a big difference in taste, contents etc. I think I ask my PD first when I go for 6mth jab, especially since my boy tummy not that strong.

eh, you know what? JT got the same problem! Has been happening since Mon nite. before sleep at nite, she cried until her voice is hoarse, I told hubby she is not crying, she is virtually shouting. Carry/rock also no use, human pacifier can stop her for a while.... dunno if she's really hungry or what also...And she has been waking up every 2-3 hrs in the nite, where she has been sleeping thro for 10 hrs for mths! And she will be on her fours with her butt in the air trying to crawl in the middle of the nite... and when I flip her to lie on her back, she will cry(shout) non-stop until I latch her on... The thing is, I no longer know how my girl reacts when she is hungry, cos she has never felt hungry for the past 2 mths, always struggling to feed her.... haiz... hopefully it's really true that she is having growth spurt... high time... but could also be due to teething cos she is really bitting every and anything within her reach, and her drooling is so bad, she is having milk rash on her chin and jaws... alamak....but whatever it is, hopefully it will go off soon before sch reopens, if not I can't imagine having to go to work the next day if she wakes up every 2-3 hrs!!!

Dun use the quilt. When JT was abt 2 mths, we also cheapskate never buy bumpermat, so used the quilt. she banged her head on the floor during tummytime and cried :p
Why dun you buy the small bumpermat from Minitoons? I got the smallest 2x1m at $49.90. It not reversible, but the only downside is that the surface is not very smooth, so would have "pattern" on their hands, but other than that, its ok lah. I can't get the big bumpermat that the others got cos no place to put. I find that JT crawls better on the bumpermat than on the mattress.

He did my boy's newborn assessment then told us Kenny Ee taking over while he is on vacation. Tat time saw him already dun like him cos his assessment is like no assessment like tat. Just touch touch look look abit...ok..everything normal. So we ask to change to Kenny Ee lor. Kenny very thorough n so far been v happy with him. C him so often think he can bcome my boy godfather liao. Ya kinderclinic kinda ex but that time my hb can claim fr co mah. Now new job cannot claim liao

Ya usually Selina is tied up with Siva. All frens who are under Selina all chg their pd. I share the same feeling as u. Cos on the day I supposed to discharge, he said he will come at 6pm to monitor if Densie is ok to go home. He did not appear until 8pm with servals calls. But when Denise in ICU, he very on called every morn to update us. Hubby said cos he earned whenever he do the rounds mah.......

Denise oso gg thru this nw. She is sleeping less as in no nap in the afternoon still can tong until 9pm in the evening. For the pass 2 weeks, everyday wake up ard 6am. Nw she hving 2 meals of solid fd still will wake up for 1 feed. I wonder when she will sleep thru the nite.
So the bumper mat fr minitoons worth buying? I was 'bioing' at cwp jus nw. Can't make up my mind.

actually mommies, now that hwee mention..what is usually the diff bet stage 1 and 2 FM?
 
bloom, stage 1 and stage 2 diff is the iron and calcium. that's why some bb will have constipation taking stage 2. whish is also why you need to give solids to compliment the nutrients given to bb. but sad that it is usually higher in fat content, so its oilier. my #1 had diarrhea so i kept to those stage 1 fm that caters up to 12 months.

how do you mummies managed to let your bb sleep so much in the day? mine only takes 30-45m mins nap for 2 to 3 times a day! sigh!

are all your bbs sleeping in their own cot in yours or separate room or sharing the bed with mummy since some of you are still b'feeding?

If u read my previous posting tdy, I already hv complains. He nv washed hand (he was writing when I go in so I assume he didn't. Even yes, when he touch his stationery oso cannot touch bb mah) n wore gloves when checking Denise nose n mouth. Arrghhh!!!!! Then they dun hv a pc of cloth/paper on the cushion for BB. Wat happens if the previous kid is wearing shoes n stepping on it n the next bb ned to lay down. I work in lab so I very sensitive to thg like this. Plus he gave strong medications, all the more I 'discount'

Denise was throwing out every feed on the 2nd day despite I din hv much bm. On the 3rd day, it was the same when the nurse gave her fm. Siva said cld b sm digestive problem. Jus wan to make sure she is fine b4 gg hm. He nv said whether this is reflux. She stayed there 4days. Everyday I visit her I cry cos she was on drip so heartache.Sm more her 2nd day there was my bd leh.
btw, Hd another experience to share - I suspected the lactation nurse exert too much force on Densie chin and cos it to b blue black when she is helping me w the bf. She was pressing her chin v hard and pushing her to my nipple.(I dun like tt nurse.

She nt sensitive in her words! in fact most of the ward nurse I dun like) Cos on 2nd day Siva ask hw come Densie hv a blue black at her chin. I suddenly recalled when relating my birth story to a colleague ydy. I told my colleague to take note since she gg to give brith to no2 there soon.

My elder girl miss the crawl part cos i cheapo lor use those mattress on her cant crawl at all and dangerous prone to sufficate. playmat a better choice cos it flat and cushion and easier clean. i bot a playmat when my girl 15 mth and now we used for the younger girl to do tummy time

teething kid re very hard to handle, just try to be patient wif them. i very scacre tat i gog to go thru this stage again..... at time rotate a bit ask hubby to take over to calm ourselve down is gd.
 
bobianah, just got a note from aquaducks. the trial session for 3pm saturday is full. they are asking me to attend the 10am session. may have to pass as i already have something in the morning. sigh!

Sounds like u had a bad experience at Mt E. I tot the nurses were quite good especially the senior ones. Agree tat the LC is very rough. I c the way they manhandle the bb's I also feel sim tia. Poor Denise. My boy is also only taking abt 120 -150ml per feed n feeds 6-7 times a day. Now he sleeps longer at nite so sometimes only wake up once for nite feed so feed 6 times only. Daytime he also hardly naps n nap also only 30-45mins. Most of the time must carry. so our bb same same

mommies, looks like my bb the most siong to feed now! sigh! he takes 180-210ml for 5 feeds with 1 solid feed per day. i'm increasing him to 2 solids a day starting today. per feed abt 3 to 4 teaspoon of cereal with milk. he is sleeping well at night cos day time sleep so little. his last feed is abt 7 or 7.30pm then he goes to sleep until the next feed abt 5am.

mommies, his cot is getting too small for him, is it ok to let him sleep on a mattress on the floor?

their class very small (which is gd) thats why so fast full. I had to wait before i got a slot at the trial class. I went for the 9am one last Sat.
 
bobianah, this is a trial not the actual class right? so after the trial if you so decide to sign up then they may give you another slot? how was it the last time? they have a new venue at tanglin park, next to st james kindie. maybe i consider that place if they have slot. now its open to students from st james kindie. registration is only from next week 22 onwards. lets see how. let me first settle my trial.

i'm looking at the various hotels in sydney. very headache. so many to choose from. prices are rather steep in sydney huh?

I delivered my boy in KKH on 1st Dec 2006. Now he's 6 mths n 14 days.

I saw the promotion in the TODAY's newspapers and since I'm meeting my client in shenton way, I passed by to see if I can pick up for myself but when I was there, I realised the Shenton Way office gals there juz give other ppl's bc number or ic number den they can oso collect the goodie bag liao, very easy! so I oso gave my sister-in-law baby's bc number and able to collect 2 goodie bags. If I hv all the mummies particulars, I would be able to collect more and collect for all of u too but I dont know yr information. Now if there's such a promotion, I can call u and ask if u wan me to pick up for u too lor! Den u can arrange to either collect or I send over to u.

BTW, did u manage to collect the Nestle Sample Formula from LILY in the Nestle office? For those haven collect, 55 go n collect cos they will be shifting their office to Spore Expo Area. That's wat my auntie told me, she working in NESTLE.

My baby sleeps in the baby cot in my room. But sometimes he will hv a nightmare and get frightened, I will carry him to my bed and hug him to bed. My hubby doesnt really like the idea of me hugging my baby on the bed but at least I can protect him and he can sleep better this way. Hope he will grow up quickly and if he outgrown the baby cot, I will maybe buy a child bed for him cos I hv a dog at home and if I put my baby on the mattress, my dog will come and sleep on the mattress beside my baby. My dog doesnt disturb my baby, but I dont feel secure due to hygiene purposes.

I understand from mummies dat our BM is more dilute so babies get cranky if they are hungry easily, so if at night you give them formula milk (thicker n more concentrated)they can sleep longer at night. U can try if this works, maybe can help!

My frds told me some babies are tham chiat (greedy) so they tend to eat/dring a lot, so they will wake up in the nite to drink milk even thou they are sleeping. But some babies tham kun (likes to sleep a lot) so they dont bother to wake up for feeding so they juz sleep thru out the nite.

Mine will defintely wont forget to wake up for milk, His stomach is a alarm clock, every 3-4 hours, he wants milk. Sometimes when I'm so tired, he cries for milk, I juz push the pacificer into his mouth. He sucks for 3 seconds, he knows I cheat him, he will scream very loudly in his sleep. Den I will quickly jump up fm my bed to make FM for him. He will finish up every drop with his eyes close thru out the feeding and den go backs to sleep! Aiyah, I wonder I can add sleeping drug in it to make him sleep thru out the nite! I'm so bad hor, to hv suck wicked thinking, hahaha

Now, he even bites my nipple when I latch on cos when he sucks very fast and no milk comes out, he will bite me to punish me! SO ANGRY!!! SO PAINFUL!!!

i brought my boy to sgh for his regular check up leh... since there got the baby & child clinic also.. i delivered in sgh lar...so just go there for convenience sake lor... paying subsidised rate cos that time when i delivered my boy, as he was a premmie, i opted for B2 ward... but so far ok, since is always the same pd who wld attend to him...

Denise is drinking quite alot of milk.
Meg is on 150ml, 5 feed a day and 2 times solid. sometimes dun finito her milk.

tmr is her jab. if she hit 7kg......i am on cloud 9 liao.

the trial class is on the actual slot. The trial i went for last week, all the bbs there are not 1st timers. This Sat, the class is new for the bbs attending, all Nov, Dec 06 bbs. My 2nd trial liao.

How r u after yr op? U must take care n rest well la, yr hubby concern n love u so dont want u to carry meg juz for this period of time. When u 55 recover, u can hug n carry her until yr hands tired lor. hehe

Nestle made a mistake in the advertisment la. Nan 3 is for babies 10mths onwards to 3 years old. But my baby only 6 mths old, they oso allow me to collect it cos they told me the NAN 3 expire in year 2009 so I can keep it for him to drink later not now. I oso collected for my sis-in-law cos she's in her confinement. Her bb only 2 weeks old, they oso give me the NAN 3. I think they r doing this promotion to create awarness for the new product NAN 3 in the market. So they dont mind, as long u go n produce them somebody's ic no, they give u the goodie bag. I saw a few ppl take n take.....maybe sell them to others to make a profit.

As for Lily, I called n leave a voicemail, she return my call very fast leh. Maybe they r in d mist of moving office so they overlook. Call n email them like wat nana did, shd b able to get her to reply to u soon. If u still cant get her, let me know, I will complain to my auntie n tell her to tell Lily off! hehehe.

hug hug.......heng mandy ok now......U KNOW WHAT!!!!! philson oso woke up at 3.30am this morning!!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!!! he has been sleeping thru the nite since he is 2 mths old.....heng he woke up only 2 say *hi* 2 me.....then roll here.....roll there....then flip n flip for 20min then pretend 2 sleep...at 1st i oso pretend 2 sleep cos i scare he wans me 2 play with him......then i thot he sleep liao so i sit up......OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!! he immediately lift up his head 2 look at me......i quickly lie down again n pretend 2 sleep.....in the end....i really fell asleep.....by the time i woke up 2 check on him again....he sleep liao....phew

so from 2day onwards.....i decided 2 stop *showing off* abt philson gd sleeping habit.........in case he tries 2 b funnie n wakes up in the middle of the nite.....i think i will go mad man!!!!!!!!! :p

May I have Lilys email and tel nbr would like to have a sample. My gal has been on TBF but thinking of introducing FM for night feed so that she doesnt wake up middle of the night for milk. Now she wakes up at least once and sometimes or rather most times twice a night for milk. PD gave me a tin of Enfapro stage 2 to try but it says for 7months onwards so still didnt dare to give her that.

how many solid feed do u give to yr prince and princess?

for me, the feeding schedule which my mum give to bb tx are as follows:

5am : 125ml/first ring of the 125ml Avent bottle of ebm or fm (alternate day)

8am+: ebm + 4 teaspoons of rice cereal mixed with 20ml ebm
(at first give her 2 teaspoon but she still wan more so increase to 4 teaspoons.)

11am: 3 oz of brown rice powder form + 2 oz of ebm
1400pm: 3 oz of brown rice powder form + 2 oz of ebm
1500pm: half bb biscuit
1700pm: 125ml/first ring of the 125ml Avent bottle of ebm

1745pm: 1 cup (those pray to tiny god cup) of either fish soup (with fish) or mashed potato mixed with brown rice. next wk, she will intro mashed carrot + veg + brown rice to bb tx.

2015pm: 125ml/first ring of the 125ml Avent bottle of ebm
(last feed of the day and that's her bedtime)


for me, if bb tx is at my hse overwkend:
the schedule is as follows:

6 or 7am : 150ml ebm.

10am+: ebm + 4 teaspoons of rice cereal mixed with 20ml ebm
(sometimes bb tx slp thru and missed her feed and the next feed is 1pm)

1pm: 1 teaspoon of brown rice powder form (ard 2 oz) + 3 oz of ebm

7pm+: 150ml ebm

yup, the areas ard her anus was peeling...and red red. hmm tot diaper rash is red little dot only. cos sometimes, bb tx got it at her side of bum and then I applied the diaper pureen cream and it disapper that day.

omg, drooling, yup, this bb tx quite on drooling. when, we placed her on our bed, she drool on the bed, on her pillow, her teddy bear etc...

so how is yr sweetie little cookie ger? so scary as mentioned that her eyes swollen like she is wearing a pair of swimming gooles.

for me, hubby has collected the nestle sample fm liao 2 wk ago. hm...the minitoons card has how much discount. I think my sis has the card. thks for the offer.

my bb tx slp on her own in her own rm during her first 4 mth when I was on ml and leave. when I started to work on my fifth mth, we shift her playpen beside our bed. the reason is that we painted her drawer cos her drawer got tiny little flies. the smell of the paint quite strong and even it is 3 wks but it still won't go away. from then onward, she slp in our rm with mosquito net covering her playpen. even with air-con on, she still perspire. hubby is suggesting to move her bck to her own rm but then hor my col told me not advisable tough it trained her to be independant cos when she started to flip liao, one must keep an eye on her. scared she might flip and then doze off with head down (hubby caught her once and he scared man when he bbsit her one of the time).

hmm as for bb tx 's bum, dunno leh, tml will check on her when we bring her bck fr my mum'plc.my mum always use so much powder on her, sometimes her ear all over and the bum also. told her many times but she still like that.

ok, will try her on the mattress. cos scared if place on her minitoon playmat, if she bump her head on the floor, it will be painful.

forgot to check with my mum how bb tx's bum. Will check when I brought her bck tml. abrasion occurred might be her 2 look like hamburger bum sandwich in between or into the diaper for too long. so that day, oth side is super red and I just applied some powder onto the red red portion. then next day, it started to peel off when I wipe her and then the skin just peel off and she got no reaction leh.

normally, diaper rash is some red dot right? sometimes, she do have it on the surface of her freshly bum.

oh...did know that it is difficult for bb to learn to crawl on quit cover or on bed cos for me i think it shd be more comfortable for them mah..thks for the advice.

heard fr my mum, she told me that bb tx also woke up in the middle of night, eyes big big and smile at her. then my mum will carry her to yao lan. ai-yo, told my mum not to do anything , pretend to slp and she will slp but she said bb tx later roll here and there.

when bb tx is at my hse overwkend, if she dun want to slp, she will roll over yr side (when hubby place her on our bed and slp after her first feeding of the day) and then pull yr hair , scratch yr face, pull yr pillow etc... omg...why bb got so much energy...

can this type of playmate be used for crawling? saw one mummies selling at the marketplc but it seem to be like a quilt cover.

can be used as a quilt for baby.
