i think its diaper rash leh. rash can present itself as dots, as raised hives, as general redness and ultimately peeling.

and i glanced through tx's milk intake, i think she is talking in too little milk already, could be the reason why her weight didnt go up in her last assessment.

in total she is only taking in

125 + 20 + 60 + 60 + 125 + 125 = 515 ml of milk only! at our baby's age, they shld be taking at least 700 to 800 ml of milk.

feeding semi solids shld only supplement but not replace milk. nothing can give bbs the nutrients as well as milk now! and for their brains to develop, they need to have fats, all these milk fats will melt away when they start crawling and walking.

i thot afcai's tx milk+food intake very good liao! my gal is drinking very little oso (about 500-550ml)... and dont eat much solid either. haiz... seems like everytime her milk intakes goes up, after vaccination.. it drop all the way down.

my gal still waking up at nite to drink... about 2 or 3 times in the nite. and what makes me so pekchek is sometimes she just suck a few mouthful then dont want liao. but if dont give her, her crying will become louder n louder (machiam very hungry like that). btw we give fm at night but she didnt zz thru the nite. so, dont put too much hope on that but then depending on baby oso. think doggiebb talia could zzz thru the nite when intro nite fm.

The bumper playmat surface is very smooth so it ok for bb to crawl. My 6mth old bb sometime sleep there too. it worth investing if you plannign for number2.

maybe u wan to give yur bb soem water to suck instead of milk? it could be yur gal is just thristy and not hungry. For my gal she still wake up oscassionally durign the nite but she will fall back to sleep if we let her drink a few sip of water.if she really hungru she will cry for long time then we will go milk.

my take is that it's quite obvious that bb tx can drink more milk. like the 3 oz of brown rice + 2 oz of milk. the 3 oz of brown rice could be replaced by milk and will have so much more nutrients. I have read it's not very good to give cereal or brown rice from bottle anyway.

*pat pat* like you and Li, you guys are trying so hard to feed the required amount but sometimes bb just don't want to drink. poor mbb also world war 3 everytime she tries to feed milk but heard from her meg is better nowadays already.

er...i think can onli go 1 trial, but, my fren knows them, so maybe that's why they allow me one more trial? i didnt ask for it, just said that i want to try my ger out in another age group closer to her age. They very nice la.

bcos our bb new to pool, they will slowly intro baby to water. the advanced bbs can be dunked. Aquaducks quite experienced, they will only dunk bb when bb is ready. Now just let beginners like hannah brush cheek in water only. Haiz, my ger cry. Bath tub, she no problem, pool, she chicken! Heehee!

But Aquaducks will advise you how to hold bb so they feel secure. Then there is some sing song, playing around in water activity. Quite fun.

actually philson very guai lor...can sleep so well. Hannah wakes once a nite still...now she teething, she wake up more past few days. Somes quite funny, she wake up crying, eyes closed...wonder is she nitemare??

nowadays very cute, dinner time, i will let her sit on my lap, and feed her some barley water from my cup. Then i let her suck on some fruits like watermelon...wah...she very "gian"! she grab my hand with the fruit to put in her mouth. Yesterday i was talking and too slow giving her the next spoonful of barley, she make noise to "scold" me! hahaha!

think hannah getting used to her jumperoo and exersaucer too...just when i was beginning to wonder if i'd wasted money...whew! She seems to enjoy herself more in those toys now.

wah! similar concept to ergo wor! sounds good too! but the fabric of ergo is not very thick either, it's really the close body contact between the bb and us that makes it hot. i wonder who came up with this design first and why didn't they sue each other for intellectual property infringement!

yesterday talia ann could sit unsupported already. she was sitting on her mat for 15 mins waving her ball around playing and didn't topple. must be her fat bum bum giving her a very good base!

Hello mummies

Haiz... I'm a big panda now... JT woke up at 2.30am, 3.30am, 4.45am and 6.45am, then only went back to sleep 5 min ago... wah lao I feel like dying liao.... dunno wat's wrong with her leh??!?! I latch her she really drinks wor...but not a lot lah... but how can be hungry 1 hr later??!? Very tempted to start her on solids liao cos Mon sch starts, I will die if she still wakes up and demands for milk every hr....Dunno why she can swing to extremes... just last week I was still struggling to feed her, then this week she wants milk every hour 24/7....

Dunno if she is really hungry or she just wants to suck for comfort cos she is teething....Last time on the few occassions when she wakes up in the middle of the nite, she won't cry one, she'll only "eh eh eh", now she will wail and wail like she just had a nitemare.... seriously dunno wat's wrong leh... haiz...

Actually if you dun have budget/space constraints, actually the bumpermat from the smallsmallworld is much better in quality. The minitoons one is thinner and the surface is much rougher. If not for space constraint, I wouldn't have bought the minitoons one. But this one is still better than quilt lah, JT bang her head on the mat many times liao, still din cry leh

Hubby din wan u to strain urself

Densie was 6.81kg on her 6mth. The next week when she go for her jab, is 7.43kg. Think she lose sm wt when she hd her running nose n cough. But ydy her total intake for milk only 450ml.....nowsday her milk intake like shares market.

Yr bbs food consumption is very good liao...
My bb food consumption is as below:

0900 Latch on (Goodness noe how much he drinks)
0100 150ml of fm and 2 teaspoon of rice cereal wif 50ml of fm
0530 150ml of bm (Struggles to finish tis)
0930 150ml of fm

Last nite my bb woke up at 0330 for a short feed too...I latch him...but I hv no bm tis morng...as my breast was soft...ponderin if I shld stop bm liao...since my supply is so pathetic even after 12 hrs!!!...heartache...

wow, didn't know that the diaper rash come in dif form. before that, her skin is rough rough one and then the next day, the skin peeled off but bb tx no reaction leh. will check on her today when I bought her back.

thks for analyising the milk intake. yup, shd ask my mum to give her more milk but instead of more brown rice. last time, she told me my brother dun drink milk fr 6mth onwards, he drank brown rice powder (milk replaced by brown rice). she said brown rice good. ai-yo..I told her milk is the main course and others food are appetite only but she still......hai... hmm comparing to yr gar - Talia, bb tx's weight is far below (only 6.6kg but hor got 1 mummy, her bb is 7mth+, her weight is same as my bb tx). today, need to 'nag' at her again, will have to ask her how she prepare fish soup for bb tx. scared she went to soak the small slice of fish into the salt cos yesterday, her fish soup she cooked for me is so saltly and I told her, she said the taste is ok leh...hai...really dunno what to say, head banging...

mentioning abt giving brown rice via bottle, my mum said my brother last time also on bottle man...for me, last time, I feed bb tx by spoon and it 's quite messy. anyway, for me, i only give 1-2 oz of brown rice to bb tx and the rest are milk.

mentioning abt the milk fats, make me boiled, told my mum several times liao to stir before preparing the ebm, but she did not stir properly (catch her several times when I am having dinner). so all the nutrient/fats are all stain onto the bottle and she said those too high and stir. I have in fact show her several times since april but she still....*&*&&^& deep long sigh...


anyway, hubby is thinking of letting bb tx drink 180ml (dunno want to take risk using ebm cos scared she can't finish and I sim tia but hubby will still force her to drink finish even she can't P...) anyway, everytime at my hse, we will give her more milk than solid cos too lazy too cook. the most is rice cereal only and some brown rice if got time.

how old is yr gar? my bb tx is still drinking nan1 cos have not finished yet (she only supplement 1 feed of fm either on alternate day or daily).

nan freebies include a milk container, 1 tin of 400g nan, 1 sachet of brown rice, i sachet of nestle rice cereal and a nice box to contain all these items.

N hor really agree with doggiebb on tx milk intake leh. Quantum very little and that should be the reason why tx didnt put on weight. BB shld put on some weight each mth. Otherwise not healthy and will affect their development.

Maybe you should ask yr sis or brother to talk to your mum. Brown rice and water can never replace milk lor. Milk is bb basic food. Even when they are toddler still must drink milk

HI 5!!!! nowadays mandy's schedule messed up until i blur blur! u noe hor, wks ago me n hubby were still gloating bt how mandy can flip liao but won't wake up at nite flipping, then tt nite she did! hahaha... but only tt ONE nite lah. after tt, she always managed 2 flip bk herself quietly or fall asleep on tummy!
she's bk 2 normal yest (or so i tot). cld play by herself, fall asleep by herself n was v happy. BUTTTT!!!! at 1+am, she woke up 4 feed! n she's oso been sleeping trhu since 2 mths +!!!
then just now after latching n solids, she cldn't sleep, kept wanting 2 latch somemore.... faint.... she so hungry ar... siao one... one moment rub eyes like v tired, next moment lie there smile n smile, put into her cot she'd wail. dunno how she is now lah.. hubby handling her....

yup, will tell my mum abt that cos milk is not only basic food but gd fo calcium esp bone development.I will stop her brown rice intake after she consume finish another half tin more.

BTW, brown rice hor should not be mix with BM or FM leh. Should feed using a spoon. N too much will cause constipation as it is unpolished rice.

aiyo, those quilts wun do lah. those look like the playgym mats leh, will definitely scrunge up n make it difficult for tx to crawl. some more the quilts r so small, bb crawl a few steps n they r out already.

i hope tx's bum bum is no longer peeling. it's terribly painful n uncomfortable to hv diaper rash leh.

i think doggiebb n jac's point is not that tx should not eat brown rice, but that she should drink more milk. at this stage in their development hor, nutrition n fats r crucial. i think it's a bad idea to let her milk intake continue to be so low. why not give her more milk now while continuing to feed her cereals? u mentioned she is hungry after 2 spoonful of cereals? then give her 2 spoonful but more milk? do u use water or milk to dissolve the cereals?

Hi afcai, fizz, dun worri abt bb's wt too much. for 6+ to 7+kg, they would have at least doubled their birth weight and should be ok. if bb has been finishing the whole bottle, then its time to add....or b'feeding mummies usually use time to measure....i think. : ) the cereal should be in between meals to give them the additional nutrients.

my natalie also drinks very little amt of milk. it's really a constant struggle each time to get her to finish. she drinks only 120ml. i think it's one of the least here. and it's a four hourly feed some more. i'd try to increase the milk intake but she will reach her own limit and then start to turn her head left and right really quickly such that the teat comes off and milk is sprayed all over her.

last time with jared was also quite bad. the thing was jared drank a bit more milk at weight was also very low. i mean he is approaching two now and only weighing 10kg. my neighbour's boy who is 7mths is already 11kg!!!

we try our best lah. but if they really refuse, i really wonder what else we can do...

Quilt cover i dun think very good. cos very thin right. the cover is like as thin as our bedsheet right? or u refering to quilt. i put my gal on bed with my quilt aiyoo salivate until wet wet de.. omg. somemore very good at "stamping" mouth full of salivia liao will auto do a "STAMP" on my quilt or pillow... if u put quilt cover. bb when move, the whole piece will crumbled together liao leh. which might cause danger cos she might get entangled leh...

BB Ivan at 4mths + almost 7kg is good already leh. Think Ewan also ard there only n my PD at that time assured me that he is growing v well. Of course, tat was b4 the scare when he suddenly refused to drink milk the whole day n his weight dropped by 0.4kg in 2 days. But now after tking medication milk intake improved tremendously. Hopefully will stay up like S'pore property prices

The patapum is canvas, Ergo also canvas, doesn't sound any thinner. Only diff i guess is Ergo got front pocket for u to keep keys n purse which is convenient when u go out alone wif bb, dun hv to bring another bag. But like doggiebb say it's the body to body heat that makes u sweat not the outer material. Guess if both same, other thing to consider is the price lor.

U mean Eubos creme in a tub one? The one can use for face one is it? Aiyo...they got so many cream also dunno which one u bot. Maybe u can search Eubos website on google n do the translated page. Can read abt d product in English. No usage instruction but at least u know what the product shd be used for.

TX is having so many solid feedings a day? hiyo, read a few websites n bks all say bbs at these age cannot cut dn on milk intake. main pt o starting solids is 2 let bb inculcate good eating habits, tt's y u haf 2 use spoon 2 feed, no matter how small e quantity, or else no pt. o cos they oso supplement some nutrients lah but milk is still e most impt. solids shld not substitute milk at this pt.

yup, no choice, nothing can be done or else force fed them to drink. wow, 7 mths bb 11kg compared to yr boy...scared the neighbour 's boy overweight loh.

that's why my mum still give her 125ml (using the Avent small bottle) of ebm cos she scared bb tx can't finish. one of the time, hubby gave bb tx 150ml in the afternoon, she drank very slowly and has to coach her to finish it.sometimes, distraction also is the cause.

yup, we do give my gar scape of apple (mostly juice) but she grabbed the apple so give her small piece for her to lick.

bb tx also tasted scape banana, she dun seem like it but she still eat it.

yup, have not check on her, she is slp liao. will check on her when I changed her diaper in the morning.

yup, even for the first try when she consume the rice cereal, she wan more and scream when my action is slow and she finished liao. so added in 2 more teaspoon with 20 ml of ebm and it's quite watery. then the next time, I made the rice cereal slightly thicker (4 teaspoons with 20ml of ebm). she finished it quite fast.

yr gar intake of milk is quite gd hor...envy... for me, I dun use water to dissolve the cereal, use ebm better. Have instructed my mum on that.yup, told my mum to give bb tx brown rice alternate day instead.

bb tx birth weight is 2.9xxkg and now only 6.6kg so have not triple the weight.

oops, ai-yo, no use one, told my mum several times to feed brown rice using spoon but she mentioned that last time, my brother also use bottle to drink. that way got the 'conflict' issue of the teat thing...so pissed off.

she went to mix the brown rice with ebm loh. she mentioned that spoonfed so messy. I told her it is like that one man, what to expect.... oh..constipation, bb tx did poo daily this wk. 2 of the time, her poo is hard (not a gd sign). but today, she did not drink the brown rice and then her poo is like peanut butter, quite nice.

for myself, I do drink brown rice water (use those fried brown rice and then pour hot water onto it) on wkday when I am in the office. ppls ask me why I wanted to drink. ever since, confinement period, I drink till now. sometimes, this might help to increase ss and also boost up energy. dunno how true.

my mum said she apply the pureen diaper rash cream on her bum and she told me her bum ok liao. just now, I peek at her drypantz (she is wearing that at night only), wow piang, her anus there got so much powder...ai-yo...told mum not to place powder there but...deep deep sigh

haa yup, like infant care ctr. more 'wu hua"(bargain) to buy directly fr Heinz booth. my bb tx is gg to start her 2nd box of rice cereal liao. just nice by the time she finished this, she can start the orange box for 7-9mth one which I bought 2 kind of favour (banana one and the other one is oat or wholegrain something like that).

Congrats for passing yr driving lesson. where did u learn it? look at the brighter side with 6 tries before passing, you have gain more experience than those who pass during 1 tried.

i just returned fm my holidays 2 days ago.
Been a fun but too packed trip with this tour. Everyday woke sooo early n no time for shopping. Time even shorter for me as i still try to find time to sneak away to pump in washroom whenever there is a break, in order to keep up my supply. I even try to drink my ebm but yucks. Cant stand the taste n got to dump away. If at hotel, i use it to wash face n feet. Sooo wasted hor.

Upon our return, our darling hayley is sooo happy to see us (lucky she still remember us). But she down with flu n we took her see doc. She also lost chubby fat on her cheeks n tighs n her milk intake reduced soo much (per day now abt 500ml i/o 780ml). Maybe now sge sick... no appetite. Now she 6.5 month, her weight only 7.8kg but she already triple her birth weight. I guess it is ok for her.

Boiling potato now going to mash it and let Shanessa try this afternoon. So far she only tried the heinz rice cereal and heinz bottle pear. Pear cannot make it lah. She gave a sour face and after 9 to 10 teaspoon she poo poo 3 times within the next 6 hours. She usually poo once or twice a day only.

in my case, nat is the one who doesn't want to drink. i'd gladly let her drink more to fatten her up. if bb tx can drink the 150ml, even tho she needs some coaxing, then by all means go ahead and let her drink that amt. bbs do need some coaxing to drink. my jared was also like that. nat now also like that. no choice. we canno deprive them if they can drink larger amt. so go ahead and let tx drink more. milk is still more impt at this stage than eating solids.

you got the quilt to let her crawl on it?? isn't she going to knock her head then?? quilt like not cushiony enough leh... what if she flips over and knocks on her head? wah... can't imagine the pain.

and must remember to check on her bum ok? skin peeling and red no joke leh. have you changed the brand of diaper that she is using? maybe it is not suitable. and when you apply the barrier cream, please slather it all over in generous amt. if possible, don't let her wear the diaper. lie her on clean cloth nappy and air her. and tell your mum not to use powder coz it mixes with the pee and sticks to her bum and causes more irritation. i listen to you describe tx's bum... so sim tia for her...

sometimes when PH's butt red red, i will apply thick layer of diaper cream on tt area.. so thick tt it looks like "facial mask".. but it seems to help leh..

this morning at 6am, I gave bb tx 180ml of ebm. she finished it all. the next feed, i let her drink 125ml + 30ml of ebm mixed with 4 teaspoon of rice cereal(spoon feed her), she finished it all. the third feed ard 1325pm, feed her with 20ml of brown rice + 130ml of ebm, she also finished.

will pump her more milk intake over the weekend. my mum hai...despite of telling her also no use one, can't get the message to her mind.

hmm wondering if the quilt folded into half then it shd be thicker loh. anyway, I'm looking ard for cheaper playmat loh.

yup, this morning, I checked her bum, ok liao esp still red red. she poos twice today (morning and afternoon). yup, at my hse, she is on nappy cloth.


ai-yo, told my mum not to use drypantz and told her all the reasons and feedback from the mummies. one mumies told me drypantz not gd absorbance compare to normal diaper cos it is a training pants. but my mum still insist that this drypantz thing better than my current use - dry 5. hai.... when I have not finished my reasoning abt the bum thing, she already told me it is the diaper I used...so pissed pissed...head banging...so hubby just mentioned the reason again before I flare up. with regard to the powder thing, told her since bb tx's birth till now, dun powder her all over but till now still NEVER listen. so pissed off. sometimes, I have hard time to clean her anus type, powder stuck her and ear too.

Hi mummies, your bbs r eating some much variety. Mine only tasted rice cereal, carrot, apple, avocado and papaya. I though she is eating a lot!!! She has 4 tsp of cereal and 2 tbsp of carrot just now 1 hr of bf (latch on but seems a long time). Think I underestimate your appetite!!
