Maybe can try gripe water for Cae? I used tat on my bbs, seem to work for my ger. But no effect for my boy. So using ru(2) yi(4) oil on him now. more effective. Maybe boys r like tat... my boy also can c bones & he turns his nose up at new food. =( Now he's older, much better. but still fussy.

ya I'm born in 1974. Dun worry abt no. of children. My fren 35 yrs old then have 1st one. 37 then give birth to 2nd one. Pai fu her, dun know how she manage. Mostly it's she taking care of her 2 bb.

sad to say, i already reduced to caning him liao. Caned him 4 times liao so far. Heart pain but he learns his lesson faster after caning. e.g. he likes to open & close drawers in kitchen. Spent half yr tryin to tell him cannot, not safe. Then one day heavy drawer fell out cos he pulled too hard & nearly hit his toes. I went mad & caned him. After tat, no more openin & closin of drawers. But my heart pain lor. *sob*

Hmmm.. breast milk precious leh. =) Also saved lots of $$. I cal out & show my hb how much he saved on FM for xin yunn for 11mths. =)

By e way, i always tell my age to frens cos i always 4get how old i am. Dun know y, but there's a period when i was already late 20s, but still keep writin my age as 21 on application forms. My frens laugh at me... so mah lu.

hmm..think different mummmies use different approach of discipine. my frenz 's hubby has 2 sons (age 18mth and another one 2.5yr). her son is also veri noti. her mummy will discipline her by reasoning out with him and if it fail, she will send him to the corner and leave him there.

wow, think kid must learn a lesson when thing happen. i heard fr my col that she also told her daughter not to touch the hot hot kettle in the kitchen many times but the gar won't listen. then one day, she went to touch and then got scald and cry badly. fr then onwards, she dun dare to touch any more.

haa...yr kids drains away yr memory or brian cells is it?? then must eat more ginko nuts liao. haa..so funni, luckily, u did not write age 18, and always be 18 yr old...haaa...

hmm..have u gone to the suntec book feast, gg there this sun after the family shoot which is nearby only. pray hard, she will not be cranky.

re leggings, decided to dyi after having 1 bblegs cos like what gan/mbb said, the top side always roll down .... i just use my old clothes (stretchable, non fraying for lazy me) then machine to form a tube, then use those elastic band for top and bottom loh. only half completed and when i try it on kate she pulled it off anyway if can find bb size socks that is thigh length then dont have to go thru all these trouble! but cannot find leh!

dora, ignore that stupid auntie lah... my hb also say my food must be not delicious thats why kate dont eat much.. throw jt to her and i bet she canot last 1 meal! thought nowadays kids as easy to rear as last time ah? in the end din do the safety gate..bought from john little ... hahaha..lets have a re-competition bet jt and kate one day.i dont believe my kate will lose

fizz..mmm... jamu massage? is that the normal post natal massage? actaully the things tat u mention..confinement, massage, bf.... we are really forgo if we want to..just that afraid next time old liao really got all kinds of illness..my chinese gf who give birth in europe also din have confinement..... and i know of a few mommies who din bf.... some pp will say u din bf so u r not a good mommy, but to h*ll with these pp lah... maybe u start on really mushy stuff (like those rice cereal texture) first? is cae ok with those? kate also got bloated tummy..ahahah... at this age bb have stranger anxiety.... its normal..

afcai, since tx kiasi no choice loh... what i did last time is everytime i will be there to catch when i coax her to walk... so she know she is 'protected'.. my bbsitter will hold on to her hands and coax her to walk... also protected.. b*llsh*t abt being growing up milk lah... similac also have alot of bubbles... mine got bubbles everywhere not just at an angle... maybe cos i use avent bottles? nowdays women's age not secret liao lah... so as we can maintain and look good and be healthy our age does not matter..

I hv gotten my best Christmas present this wkend...guess wat???...Cae is startin to drink milk again!!!...after 7 long mths of spoonfeedin...n wat milk do u tink he finally accept???...(Dora...u r gonna love tis one)...Isomil Adv!!!

Actually...it may b a blessin in disguise tat Cae hd stomach flu...due to tis...I hd to feed Cae wif anti colic med...n switched to soy based milk...at the same time...to improve Cae's appetite durin tat period...I fed him Applelin (a kinda vit B12 which stimulates appetite) as well...for the first time in many mths...he started to fuss less wif drinkin milk fm a sippy cup...n tonight...he actually cried cos he did not feel satisfied after 150ml!!!...he is oso startin to eat wif more zest...altho itz stil not a lot by the avg std...so I dunno if it may b due to the anti colic med or reflux med which reduces his discomfort...or Isomil which catches his fancy...or Applelin which stimulates his appetite...in any case...I hope his zesty appetite will continue n b even better...n heck...Im stickin to Isomil for the time bein...even tho I dunno if soy based milk is gd...as long as he drinks lah...my best Christmas present!!!

Ur bb's r so cute. So guai. If E gets hold of the paint I will faint. Bot him a Barney whiteboard n marker set. He started scribbling on the board n the scribbles got larger n larger n he ended scribbling on the floor, his legs, clothes n even managed to get some ink on his nose.

U're right, there're many dif discipline approaches but i kinda of losin patience w my boy... caning not be best approach but i runnin out of patience. I reserve place for him at playgp next yr. Actually, dun wan to enroll him in sch so young, been teachin him at hm. But frens recommend tat children become more independent & better behaved in such social settings. Hope my boy gets more disciplined next yr.

I went to suntec book fest liao w my 2 kids in tow. My son keep dumpin e trian bks in e basket, hiah yo, all ex ones... =( manage to convince him 1 train bk is enuff.

actually i was thinkin abt e bread. Wat kind u used? I scared xin yunn choke on e bread... was thinkin of givin her some to try.

My niece also 4 teeth for long time but when e others came in, they sprout very fast. Maybe Mandy belongs to this category.

u can buy custard powder fr ntuc bakery section. I'm also not sure wat it's made of. Will try to let u hv access... i 1st time usin flickr... not sure if i know how. If worse come to worse, then i set viewin to public. hope i dun get sued for copyrights... =) Sorry occupational hazard, my principal grinds into us tat copyrights impt in gov service, die die cannot violate.

i can understand ur elation... my ger milk strike ... when she finally starts to drink milk faster... wah i jump up and down after she finish. She used to drink 90ml in 1& half hr... then improve to 120ml in 30min.. finally 200ml in 10min. Wah, i can cry for joy.

Toking abt discipline...my boy getting more n more noti liao. To many ppl hv been praising him recently cos he is usually v well behaved...so he 'got face' liao. Wah..dun let him hv his way nia he will start screaming like a girl. But I still dun let him hv his way

I am now preparing self for the terrible twos phase liao...been reading lots of books on discipline etc. Really helpful.

Ok...I m also doing tat...replace 1 scoop nia. He is currently drinking enfalac. Guess the smell is quite different cos of the flavouring. Was also thinking I shd try enfagrow but tat also has flavouring. Hmmm...I also dunno wat 2 do. Can try different brands but am worried will end up like my fren, try all brands end up son also dun take. Will only drink Chocolate pediasure. Maybe let him go hungry n he will eventually accept.

Mommies, kapo asking..anyone still carrying her bbs using bare hands for long? Now I cannot carry kate for long liao..always use stroller/carrier. i love to carry her but after a while will get very tired... plus now hip carry on my left too much (while i prepare milk etc using right hand), my left leg's joints suffering...

i give mandy gardenia wholemeal bread. i grind e meat n mix w vege puree den spread them on half e bread. fold it up n just let mandy bite. she can bite thru, even 2 layers o e hard skin plus e filling. nv choke.

me still carry ethan wherever i go... me dun like to use stroller/carrier... very troublesome... unless we going for half to whole day shopping then i bring stroller along... if not, then only me, ethan, diaper bag and sometimes 1 more person in case he gets too difficult... usually i hand carry him for strolls for abt half hr then go back liao... then get terrible backaches after dat... ;p but i still love to carry him lor... hee...

yup my girl is a dec 06 baby, born on xmas. Just celebrated her b'day yesterday. =) upload photos later.

u can say it again man, terrible twos.... My boy same lor, scream &amp; cry &amp; throw BIG tantrum to get his way. My in-laws dun know how to handle him so let him hv his way. Now i go to step up discipline b4 he turn into real monster. =(

By e way, one of my fren told me tat small percent of bb likes to drink choc milk. Not sure if true or she anyho say 1. But i think choc milk heaty leh.. My girl dun drink milk, i gave her appleton (last time, now no more)+&amp; her appetite improve. Not sure if this info helpful. =)

Physio as in physiology. E motherhood bk says it's for babies leh... anyway, i modify some recipes to suit my bb. Both of bb lazy to chew one, tried to give them coarser food &amp; they gag. =( Give it to e men... they always hv some excuse to save face.

I still carry xin with bare hands. Enjoy doin so but i take care not to carry on one side too long. Compared with my boy (13.5kg), she's light. =)

Hmmm...spoonfeedin is very tirin...unless the bb is as cooperative as Mandy...Cae was a nitemare to spoonfeed...he wld push the spoon wif his hands...kick it wif his legs...turn his head away...n cried n struggled in his seat...my maid n I did it for 7 long mths...til last wk...he suddenly decided tat he liked the sippy cup...Praise God...(I pray tat his gd behaviour wil continue)...u may wanna try to train Ivan to drink fm a straw or directly fm a cup liao..Cae can somewat drink direct fm a cup...but hez stil not very gd at it...wil stil drip...

Yr Mandy can chew very well hor...gd for her...Im stil gifin Cae gluey stuff like eys brown rice powder, cereal, mashed potato, porridge, star pasta in soup...but recently...he keeps wantin to eat biscuits...tho I enjoy widenin my range of snacks...like gerber stars, healthy times teddies, pigeon rice crackers...I literally hv to hide my snacks out of sight fm Cae...but...he noes tat I hide the gerber stars behind my sofa cushion...he wil climb up the sofa n grab the bottle behind the cushion...n he noes tat I hv biscuits in my diaper bag...he wil pt at the bag n try to unzip it to get the biscuits container...

My hb now quite gd with xin yunn... he's e one feeding her, both solids &amp; milk... + bathin her too. &amp; also sleep with her but when she cries at night, he'll always wake me up. (He goes back to zzzz) Tat's y i'm awake now at 3+am. *yawn*

The acquisition of the skill to walk bring along pblms...I nid 1 adult to watch over Cae constantly...so I always hv my maid doin the cookin while my dad or mil watchin over Cae...he wil climb onto everytink...the coffee table, stairs, sofa, bed...n he is acquirin pblm solvin skills...tat day...he was walkin rnd n rnd the coffee table...then my hb deliberately put his leg on it to create an obstacle...guess wat Cae did...to get to the other side of the coffee table...he climbed up the coffee table n then down on the other side of the coffee table...

Can any mummies share how they keep an eye on their walkin tots whilin doin chores???...

Hmmm...but sometimes I dunno whether he is slow or not...he stil cant play shape sorter toys correctly leh...

fizz,have to agree taht sippy cup is a savior! now kate drinks from straw and she can hold the cup so i no longer have to hold it for her ..lazy mommy ..cae can drink directly from cup? means he knows how to hold, tilt and control the cup ? wow! hehehe...finally someone like me who canot carry her bb for long... cae very smart leh..knows how to search for his fav biscuits... re eyeing the child, i got my hb to help out or put her in playyard or let her play in living room (close all other doors) but peep at her regularly (not useful cos she still fall from sofa hahaha)... kate also duno how to play with shape sorter...

aiyo. i feel so bad reading ur posting. mandy likes to b spoonfed. it's act not a v gd thing cos she's reluctant to try other ways o drinking milk n water. she can drink fr cup w us holding but she much prefers to b spoonfed lor. less effort on her part bah. she used to drink thru straw well but now forget liao... sigh... bad mommy lah me.... i shld really start 2 retrain her n wean her off e spoon. but i'm so lazy cos she drinks fr it so well...

mandy is weird. she much prefers solids. altho she has only 4 teeth. she hates porridge. i haven't given her porridge for a loooooooooong time. i've kept my slow cooker. resigned 2 e fact tt she won't ever eat porridge again. hehehe...

erm. mandy just nv touch e bread when we feed her. if it's plain bread, we let her hold herself. if there's filling we hold for her. n she would just sit there, open her mouth n chew lor.

tok bt botak bb. took mandy for a haircut yest. she so funny, cried once we stepped into e salon. but stopped n kept v still while cutting. tink she likes it. cos she cried when it's finished. now she has a tut tut crew cut cos her hair is too fine n light so they all stand up! hahahaha...

when we go out, hubby will be the one who carry tx bare hand. he dun use carrier or stroller. he said stroller 'ma fan' so heavy. if bare hand carry got advantage cos he can talk to tx on the way, showing her the surrounding etc... for me, I will need to use carrier, me also cannot ta han carry tx long.we will only bring stroller when there is mrt access or travel long distance by mrt only.

oic, the mini bottle can hold up to 5oz loh.

tough gardenia wholemeal bread is more nutrient but tx still prefer white bread. dunno why maybe softer than wholemeal bread.

Oh you managed to changed Cae onto pediasure with no problems. HOw come the NTUC at my place only sells enfagrow with Vanilla/Honey. I didn't see plain one leh. Ok will go look for it. I initially wanted to switch to Gain IQ cos it has pre n pro biotics but like you say b4 lah...it's not what we mummies want but what our bb's r willing to take. Sigh...bb's now adays so choosy.

Congrats on Cae walking liao...my boy managed to take up to 10 steps on his own a few days b4 his BD while in M'sia. And he wanted to walk everywhere. Then now after we came back to SG he suddenly decided he prefers being carried better maybe cos Grandma who indulges him came back with us. Haiz...so noti when Grandma around.

BTW...my boy also not very good with the shape sorter yet. He can only do those symmetrical shapes like circle, hexagon, square n triangle nia. But v cute cos he will clap his hand when he manages to get them in

How do you get your bb's to take medicine ah. Mine pukes as soon as he tastes it and even then we have to forcefully stuff the syringe in his mouth. Put in milk he also refuse to suck. So far quite lucky cos the meds available in suppository form so have been using that. But not all meds available in such form mah. Then even inserting it is also so difficult cos he struggles so hard. SO frustrating. Thinking whether can hide milk in some Milo or not. BB can drink Milo?

Yr boy is so clever...can do sorter liao...I cant advise u on the med tingy...cos...dunno whether itz a gd tingy or not...Cae likes to drink med...prob cos itz sweet...haizzz...wat a tingy to like...but my pd told me tat bb can eat most of the adult food liao...incl milo...y dun u try choc milk...itz more nutritious than milo...

Cae so cute like meds. My nephew is also like that. He will even ask to taste his little sister's meds. Weird boy. But good lah cos when sick no headache. I really dread it whenever I have to feed meds to Ewan. Yesterday dunno why kena fever. Maybe caught some bug when playing with all his cousins in M'sia. Anyway...he vomitted everytime I tried to feed him his meds. THe one time he didn't vomit from the taste of the meds, he cried non-stop until he vomitted. Haiz. Almost wanted pull hair out.

i m fine just tat somehow i have been brainwashed by older generations even my own cousin tat chubby bbies are cute!!

but now i have come to term liao...if any relatives ask me why ivan so small sized i will say oh my BM happens to be low fat milk the most important thing is that he is healthy n active

yest went bk mum hse...so much chaos...i gave him cereal with fresh milk he happily take using spoonfeeding...but when i spoonfeed him the milk,,he rejected n kept spitting out..kept cry just dun want...i even encouraged him if he take one spoonful i will give him a small piece of biscuit...but no use..so pissed n tired tat i held him half lying position but i was cautious just force the milk spoon by spoon.but gave him a small biscuit after tat..i dun know when n how long he will accept either bottle,sippy or straw..if he is chubby i dun mind not giving him milk n just give him high calcium food.but i did progress managed to pat him to sleep with nursing him.
