I don't really know how to buy a good bra though I know it's impt, but my concept is good bra is nvr cheap... , so I suspected the $9.90 bra u gals been talking don't have really good support (no offense) personally I've bought from Mothercare, Momsinmind and Spring Maternity recently. Problem with Mothercare one is no padding, but quite comfortable, Momsinmind one will depends which one u buy, got cheap one, but no support and padding, expensive one ($30+) will have padding and nice shape and mayb that's support. For Spring Maternity, there's no padding, but there's a cup shape, so nipple won't be seen and think the support not bad bah. Cost only abt $20+ $30, so I'm ok with the pricing.... cos when I come to think of it, if we r not breastfeeding, think the bra I bought are even more expensive $70+ - $90, so the nursing bra is still consider cheap liao

Ur MIL really like too much like that leh. I do have the same problem, but not with MIL but with my hb's side, his 2nd sister and also not as bad as urs. At least she will greet my mum n dad, the basic courtesy still there lah, but the worst thing is the Pantang part. Personally I also very pantang, but I can't shut her up, she also like ur MIL, talk 3 talk 4, if I shut her up, she will like not happy and also bcos my hb respected her alot will also not b happy if I do that.... I remembered my first bb, alamak... she ma chiam is the mother of my bb like that, when I try to feed my bb, she commented "if I cannot feed u think u can meh".... what a thing to say leh, if I'm the mother and I can't who r u to say u can? Now say already also angry.... then no.2 I more alert liao, anytime she say something wrong I'll correct her... even my sis cannot tahan her.... Say already me also angry!

Stress & Depression, so for no. 2, in order to avoid that n concentrate on my breastfeeding, I issue an "imperial edict" to my hb that she better not come to disturb me, cos I don't know what will I do if I feel too stress and under depression...hahaha... that's freak him out....

Not really alert lah, just tat my sis keep training me, if u feel anything no rite that she has done to the kids especially, must voice out, cos ultimately, kids are our responsibilty and not hers, cos shld the child be sick, all she do is just a phone call, but we as parents got to stay up at nite and worry till they get well. So prevention is better than cure...

I like the Spring maternity nursing bras too. Provide good support and the prices are not too ex ..As for mothercare bras, I find them too thin..can see nipples..I agreed that buying good nursing bra is very important lor...one of my fren told me if the support is not good enough will result in sagging breasts lor so I won't mind spending more on good nursing bras...

if u worry bust will sag cos too heavy, u really need a good support bra from now. yes, tube bra not suitable for pple with bigger boobs. though mine small, sometimes still wearing tube bra....during non-aircon places or hot weather. i feel that tube bra is too tight. very uncomfy.

initially i thot i can use the tube bra to BF during confinement. but now i don't think so, cos confinement period super hot, plus boobs will increase in size too. so will be super tight.

wow 'imperial edict'!!! i'm also going to tell my hubby to remind his mum to zip her mouth when she sees my newborn next time. the previous time when my MIL visited at the hospital, 1st day I gave birth only, she commented why my newborn's nose so flat, why lips dunno this & that...I heard liao very 'pek chek'. U know, women after giving birth, I think very sensitive one right? so after those remarks, really boil lor...

btw, do u know the difference in charges between 2 bedder & 4 bedder in TMC? i told my HB that many pple choose 4 bedder & got upgraded to 2 bedder. he said if the difference not much, juz book 2 bedder. he said scarly really give 4 bedder then how?

I consider Spring Maternity bra padded, but not heavily padded, just very light enough not to shown ur nipple and the same time got the cup shape lor, cos some nursing bra I bought do not have the kind of cup shape, so Spring one to me is good enough. I think cheaper bah, depends what design u choose lor.

I've stayed in 2-bedded in TMC and 4-bedded in KKH, feel that not much difference lah, 4-bedded in TMC is quite spacious especially if you are given the inner bed near the window rather than the door. Cos I breastfeed at the 4-bedded ward in TMC when my no.2 was warded for Jaundice treatment, so personally I feel that 4-bedded is quite spacious and I think better than 2-bedded leh, cos can accomodate more visitor and if not all the beds are occupied, then does it make any difference if it's a 2-bedded or 4-bedded? I choose 4-bedded in TMC last time and given a 2-bedded, to me 2 or 4-bedded no different, afterall, it's only 1 or 2 nite stay, so y spend that kind of money, must as well give it to the baby.... I think depends on the ward class u choose, the nursery price also difference....

Nowadays i also can't stand taste of prune juice but prunes are okay...sometimes my legs felt weak think bec the nerves are being pressed by bb. Dunno why also sit too long in office, the tail bone also painful...first pregnancy dun have this pain though, haiz...how old is your elder child?

Vanessa, did you go for the TMC hospital tour during your 2nd pregnancy?Worth going? I haven't been any.

I did went for the hospital tour lah, cos only by going for the tour then u will know which ward u will prefer lor, anyway, it's only awhile, I just went either b4 or after my gynae appt.
Mayb u can make appt to go this sat after ur appt with Dr sim? Think the timing is just rite, else u inform Janelle that u going for the tour then they will advise u if u can go b4 or after the consultation.

I just call my gynae and spoke to the nurse. The pulling feeling at the cervix area is part and parcel of pregancy cause pelvix is expanding. Everything is fine so long as no spotting. Phew, feel so relieve

Good support bra doesn't need to have wire, in fact, wire will obstruct the milk production and cause blocked ducts. Good support means broad shoulder band and able to support ur breast without it looking slagging when u put on the bra. I bought the Drop Cup kind. I've bought 1 padded, 1 QT underwired bra(for later stage lah, actually better not with wire) and I think the leisure one bah, without padding one, the basic nursing bra. Spring maternity nursing bra cost only $20+ $30 lor, mayb u can try to get from Spring Maternity.

U can wear the normal bra also provided u are comfortable with the pulling up when feeding in public, but as usual, no wire, else u will realise that the area around the wire will have blocked ducts. LC will recommend bras to be wore at all times, as when we are breastfeeding, our breast are heavier than usual, so support is neccessary all times to prevent sagging in future.

seems like B1 not bad oso... but i had bad experience the last time i stay in B1 ward for my drip.. it's next to nursery.. so it's super noisy during visiting hours.. all the relatives were crowding at the nursery looking at bb n chatting.. aiyo.. i want to sleep oso cannot.. n i suay.. got the bed nearest to the door.. so no privacy at all.. hai~~ will wait till the hospital tour see where the B1 maternity wards are situated b4 i decide bah..

As usual, our thread very active.

Yesterday, I went for my glucose test. The drink wasn't bad, like concentrated lychee drink lidat. =P But the draw blood part is a pain cos my left arm the vein like cannot draw, so i hv both times taken from right arm. Results won't be ready so soon. Anyway, now I'm 27wk 3d (I think) and bb is about 1.2kg! Unfortunately, he say I put on a bit too much weight liao from the last time i saw him 5wks ago! Sigh...

I greedy lor...must cut down on my unhealthy snacks. I think last few weeks, I've been quite bad in snacking on chips, keropok and junk food.

Must cut down...no more junk food!
Anyway, from now, my visit to gynae increase to once every 2 weeks instead of once a mth liao. Doc oso ask me if we decided how many bedder we want cos time for them to book for me. I oso not sure, but I guess 1 bedder...Now that it's 3rd Trim, I think he oso getting more "gan cheong" about me. =P
Doc oso ask me if I have any questions, but I usually dun have any or forgot liao. hahaha! oh well, next appt in 2 weeks, quite soon!

I oso went TMC to buy the maternity disposable underwear after hearing from you ladies that its good! I bought 4 pcs. Hope enuff. I had craving for fish and chips yesterday, so since i was at MtE, I went Fish & Co to eat...yummy!

I oso went to Isetan to buy the Bouncing exersaucer. It was on offer at $89.90! Best deal I've seen so far! Hope bb will use it!

Last Saturday I oso went shopping. Went to Kidzloft at Tagore Lane, BabyTown, Philips Carnival (bought bb monitor), Toyogo, then go home unload car and went to Tangs to buy ironing board! Shop until I was soooo tired and feet so pain, that night i really slept soundly!

Glad so many of you enjoy Botak Jones. The Burger is really really good... thick patty. So far, I've only eaten at the Tuas branch, so I hope the food quality is the same.
