tricia is still having LS, but i think much better now... but i think she has spread to my mum & me. this morning, my mum had LS whereas for me, i vomitted. both of us are feeling feverish... *sigh* now really crossing our fingers tristan will not get it.

Today alvis start crying when he enter cc. I leave him to teacher after told him his aunty will come to pick him after his lunch.

Thks 4 the link. Actually i've now switched R's night time diapers to Mamy Poko ever since my fren's lobang ceased. In fact both me &amp; hb agreed tt MP is better and we dun hv to chg R in the middle of the night anymore. Hb oso noticed tt last time when R wore huggies ultra, his back is usually wet wif sweat. But wif MP, there is no such issue and we oso felt the material is much more comfy than huggies. And price diff is not great. When MP had promo, each pc is $0.44, comparable to Huggies.

wow... jaslyn also very stubborn hor.. n i tot ayden was bad... he doesnt "gim" pple, or give us e cold shoulder when we scold him... his stubborn-ness is more of a refusal to do certain things tat we teach him to, and a penchant to do things that we told him not to. tats y no matter how we teach him to wear his own clothes, feed himself, etc... his stubbornness + impatience-ness combine = he wont do it!
actually i think im also pretty strict with him liaoz, when the need arises... how he turns out in future will be entirely up to him bah....


u know hor, sometimes i think being parents in this day n age is reli tough... cos when the kids grow up, they r exposed to so much more "undesirable" stuff in the world.. there's no way we can control/predict how they turn out lor... i juz read in newspaper abt this Pri Sch boy who committed suicide simply cos he wanted to change ECA, n his teacher &amp; parents tried to discourage him... he was still alright, cheerful n active all the way.. when his mum tried to persuade him abt this at home, he juz simply said "i'm going to do it now".. walk into his room, open e window &amp; ledge n juz jumped off... his mum was juz behind him, n she wasnt fast enough to do anything.... OMG, i reli cannot imagine how e mum feels now boy... n sometimes i juz worry myself crazy how to handle both of them when they grow up lor... definitely not like my generation where i grew up fearing my dad n will not dare to do anything "out of line"... *haiz*...........

ok, e problem does not reli "lie" with my maid.. but rather her presence.
since she came, she's been taking care of ayden... n i think up to now, she's still doing a reasonable job lah... but hor, ayden is very very reliant on her for certain things like only wants her when he needs to poo.. n only wants her when he's going to sleep at nite.
some of u might think im crazy, but im dont like e idea that ayden is so reliant on her lor... part of e reason is bcos i dont want her to feel tat she's indispensible.. cos now n then, she is starting to show me "black face" or "attitude" when i tell her off (NICELY!!!)
for example, last time hubby can still be e 1 to "put ayden to sleep".. but now, ayden completely rejects him, n will cry n cry for my maid to put him to sleep lor.. even me will not do... bcos usually i will feed n put belle to bed. so there were a few occassions tat i tried n he also rejected me... felt so sad manz... until lastnite, i resorted to using his favourite Thomas torchlight as distraction, coaxed him all e way.. told him bedtime stories 1 after another.. until he finally "accepted" me to be e 1 to accompany him to sleep. ok lah, mayb bedtime routine we maybe able to "win him back"... but when it comes to ayden's poo-poo-time, tis one he reli refuse anyone except maid. no matter wat tricks i try, wat toys i give, n even though he already "urgent" n need to go, he will cry n cry n struggle until she takes over lor.... aiyah, i also dunno why im complaining.. but i juz feel "bu shuang" lor... paiseh ar, to "make" u all listen to my complains...

I can understand how you feel.. Desiree recently also very sticky to my mum. everynight wants to sleep with her. But at least better than sticky to my maid.
Your maid came when ayden is how old?
desiree still not very sticky to my maid cos when my maid 1st arrive, she is about 18mths but i guess it would be diff for denise case cos she has been with my maid since young. but I insisted denise to sleep with me at night... though tough but i dun want to lose the bond with her.
Sometime i feel jealous when i carry denise, she will cry but when maid take over, she diam diam.. wah paings, the feeling is really no good.
Now, better, at least she know how to recognise my voice, once i call out to her, she will smile at me.

as for Ayden, i believe in his heart, he still know you are his mummy. If one day, the maid were to leave, they will adapt very quickily w/o the maid.

Em is also like Ayden, very strong willed. Now she's going through this "i'll do it myself" phase. Everything also she wants to do it herself but she gets frustrated if she can't do or if we help her and a meltdown will follow
She is the chi ruan bu chi ying type, being harsh with her doesn't work either. She has been sent to the naughty corner so many times already and she knows the consequences of doing certain things eg pouring water on the floor but she is still not scared.

I agree with you that kids nowadays are more defiant and have their own mind. I feel for the mother who watched her son jump down. Parenting indeed is a challenge. It's not just about taking care of their physical needs like in the past.

Re maid. I understand how you feel. Joshua went through a short period of wanting my maid to put him to bed at night (cos she pats him to sleep in the afternoon). I was very upset then and told her not to pat him cos he was almost 3 yrs old then. And when he ask for her to put him to bed, i will just bring him to the room and tell him that if he wants jie-jie, he can take a plane and follow her home and not see daddy and mommy again. My maid also quite zi dong lah, she will go and hide near his bed-time.
Em is different, everything also want me to do when i'm home that sometimes i resort to hiding. haha!

i understand your feeling. tricia is also very attached to my maid as she can "hong" her much better than me. i feel very heartpain also. so every nite, tricia (before tristan come along)will sleep with us or if we are not taking her home, she will sleep with my mum. i do not allow my maid to sleep with her.
i do agree with delphine, ultimately kids will still know deep in their heart, we are still their mummy.

Cos the maid is the daytime caretaker. Usually kids are closer to them. But I do agree, I rather my gals close to my mum than to maid. I will be super jealous lor. Try to take over Ayden when you are home to decrease the time and chance for the maid haha.. Sometimes I feel maid does it purposely one lor...

Its norm rxn to feel tt way. i'll feel super buay song oso. I hv heard of frens whom their kids prefer the maid than the parents themselves. Even the maid is aware and throws her weight ard... telling the kid directly,"Dun go to ur mama, come to me!" wah biang, i wld hv given her a tight slap if i am the one.
its tough to get A tuck A to sleep initially but persist and u will surely see results.

Actually hor cos we stay alone D always see us sit in toilet. But then he still dun sit last time even though he will keep saying "Mama shishi" "Papa shishi" when we go toilet. Then u ask him if he wanna sit n shishi he will say "Yes" but if u try to even ask him to sit he will scream bloody murder.
Even trying to make him jus sit on it with diaper on he will also scream n run away. But he jus 1 fine day auto took a book n sat on the potty himself. So guess wait for Ayden to be ready lor.....hehe

hehe I think those in frontline service 1 know ur 'tong ku'. Last time I work customer service also ma. Some of those ppl everytime come complain this complain that demand this demand that. N they really think they r very BIG lor. But wat they do not know is they are actually "Blacklisted" n everyone know their pattern lor.

Totally with u lor. That's why I always say so long as my kids growup to be a you yong de ren can support themselves n not a she huei bai lei I will be very happy liao.

Sigh I tell u all something U all sure laugh 1. Very qi gek.

Now D is toilet trained right. So at home he got 2 potty. 1 is the red color old kind n a white more modern 1 which is quite big so when he sits got alot of 'space'.
So pee use the red 1 which I will hold. He pee standing but when he needs to poo I will give him the white 1 to sit.
This fine day D wanna pee/poo cannot remember. Hubby help him n gave him the white 1 to sit. So I reminded him that cos its so big his pee will come out. Then I heard hubby tell him to open his legs. Weird right? Cos open legs confirm will pee out 1 ma. But okie lor I keep quiet n sure enough D pee flow out.

Then today cos I lazy I ask D to pee in toilet bowl direct. So D asked to pee in toilet bowl n hubby help. Once again I told hubby(something he should have known already) cos D pee will go sideways he need to help D aim else sure pee outside n make sure D stand near enough. N I nagged 2-3 times. But hubby 'didn't hear' dunno on purpose or wat. Cos i see he jus let D stand there alone n pee.
So I sit on the bed n watch "show" lor.

Really BTH leh he is a guy with the same anatomy as D. He dunno hw his son will pee meh.

Oh dear, it is horrible to have the gastric flu. Apparently the gastric flu bug is still going around very strong and I have heard of numerous families coming down with it. Just keep taking fluid to keep all of you hydrated.
K is not doing that well either, he had runny nose last 2 days and the first night I left my Vicks vapour-rub at my mum's place and this boy couldn't sleep properly cos his nose were all blocked. See him so xin ku yet I can't help him.

yes..change to drypants since they launch tat improved version. In fact i prefer this than huggies.

But I do agreed with Doreen. Since young, I've been letting the gals follow me to toilet to see how I go toilet. It worked well for Jolene, not for Jaslyn. I had a harder time toilet train her. Like Damien, she also screams and cries like nobody business when she uses the potty. Since she prefers toilet bowl (sit or squat, both ok with her), I just let her lor.

A is normal! In fact when R 1st saw how my hb peed, he managed to grab the "water source" as wat u said! hahaha... hb said R was too fast and he wasnt able to stop him in time.

so D is also sick ar? hope he recover soon. tricia is now down with a cough.. *sigh* she just recovered from stomach flu, now cough... poor girl... actually i been feeling v bad, her left big toe was "kiapped" by the main door as she was standing behind it and i was pushing it over on tue nite. her toe was bleeding and till today she still feel pain. can see a bruise is below her nail and the nail look like going to drop off anytime... really feel v pain for her...

Damien's diaper used to be very heavy in the morn but he now manages to only pee in the morn when he wakes. So I guess maybe once they are used to toilet train they will auto not pee in their sleep so much liao.
Cos initially once he is fully trained in the daytime, he will keep turning n waking alittle at night. Which I believe was becos he needs to pee but he can't really wake...hehe

D was sick from last Mon throat got uclers n high fever. Then recover from that liao he start coughing(caught from Ember). But Ember 1 not very serious cos 1 day cough a few times nia. D cough till like oldman n keep wanting to vomit kind.
Then saw PD again given medi then better. Now hor cos he dun really cough already more like clearing his throat cos when he cough can hear the mucus. N PD say his lungs are clear n the mucus is from his running nose nia. So I dun want him to continue the cough medi for nothing lor.
So now stop his medi n jus give him sambucol nia. His running nose stop liao jus waiting for his mucus to clear.
But then Wendy bb only 1 mth nia think I better dun go else if still got any virus then jialat somemore will be crowded......sigh

No, K is starting on 9th Dec. Next week they are having their graduation concert preparation, not suitable to start school.

For Tricia's toe, I also feel so painful for her. Did you bring her to a doctor? Cos the nail may need to be removed and the blood clot on the nail bed released to reduce pain. That is what will be done for adults, I am not sure if will be the same for kids.

talking of sambucol, tricia has finished drinking and now i'm waiting for the stock to come in. not sure whether is it she stopped drinking, just for a few days, then kena stomach flu.

got bring tricia to the PD on fri morning. but i did not mention it to her. cos we have been applying a chinese medicated cream and her toe seems to be better. ya, i know about the nail-removal for adults, cant imagine if it's done on kids. but then, tricia nail is a bit loose which my parents say will drop off (but dont know when lah), if drop off, i really cant imagine the pain tricia will feel.
if tricia cough recover, i also dare not bring her to CC, in case her toe kena stepped on by other kids... so maybe dec school fee, is abit "wasted" cos i dont know when her toe will recover

Not sure how kid's toe nails will be treated, but I think better bring to doctor for advise. My nails are those weak type like paper, always encounter such problem cos it will crack half or even deeper whenever I kick on something accidently. My manicurist recommended me a nail solution to apply, it seems to get better, at least not that often crack liao **touchwood** But I dun think kids can use bah...

Anyway, crystallized's toe nail got hurt before by a stool/chair caused by Reubern. Hers got blood clot and was really blue black. She went to the doctor, and the doctor didn't remove her toe nail, he used needle to poke to release the blood clot.

Ya, if nail is not loose but there is pain caused by the blood clot due to pressure, then just release the blood. Actually can do at home but not many people have the courage to do that. Just need to hold a needle in the blue part of the flame to sterilise and heat it up, then hold it at 90 degrees to the nail and slowly poke through... :p

Wah u still rem my toe incident? Anyway the entire nail dropped off after 2 mths.. and i had no toe nail for almost 2 mths. so ugly. kept plastering it when i wore open toe shoes.
I noticed my nails kept cracking the last few mths. it nvr used to b like tt. i wondering if its coz i'm lacking calcium but i'm alrdy diligently drinking a cup of soya bean milk daily liao. dunno wats wrong.

The PD used needles to drill thru my nails, abt 5-6 holes and each drilling, i was shrieking in pain...

he said if the blood clot is released in time, i wun "lose" my entire toe nail but alas, i think the injury was v bad since the entire nail turned black. so it dropped off.

i dun think R wil sleep thru even when he's toilet trained coz even now he still wakes me up for water. He's still trying his luck to ask 4 milk when he wakes up but i nvr gave him.
I'm quite happy wif his progress on toilet training now. Most times he will inform he needs to pee, unless he is playing v hard, he'll 4get. i dun mind using 1 pc of night diaper a day... gg diaperless alrdy saves money on daytime diapers. heee

The poking is easy but really lor, not many ppl dare to do. Talk easier haha.. This kind of job, let doctor do better haha...

i think the nail strengthener does not solve the issue. there muz b a reason why my nails are chipping off. and its consistently like tt, regardless of the fact i trim off the chipped ones to let new ones grow.
Hehehe, the pix is to show Gemini how scary it is... anyway if i knew aft releasing the clot, my nail will still drop off, then i cant b bothered to go c the doc 4 the painful experience.

I tell you hor, my nails have been chipping off for years. No matter how much calcium I intake also no use. So now, I try to keep it short. It will just chip off itself when it starts to grow a little bit long. I ever tried to trim it super short to let it re-grow but still no use. I gave up.

hyper active huh? jilat! yesterday i managed to disciplin him. he throw things on the floor when he get angry, then i managed to ask him put back to the place where he throw after 3 attempt.

the way u describe...give me goose pimples already, don't think i got the guts to poke myself... but anyway, my hb has brought tricia to the GP, gave her some lotion to wash as her toe is a bit infected and some cream to apply. he tell us to use plaster to keep the nail down, so that when it grow longer then cut it short. now, just hope tricia won't have itchy hands, go and remove the plaster as she hate to have "unnecessary" things on her.

i think u same as me also, my nails are also v weak one and soft. my manicurist also recommend me 1 nail strengther which i have long forgotten to apply. i believe it has nothing to do with the calcium intake also, i dont drink coffee and if drink tea must be with milk, i got take milk and cheese but all this still does not help my weak nails.

Dun say Tricia lah, me also itchy hand de... die die must trim away the cracked parts no matter how much pain I'm causing to myself. Always got scoldings from my manicurist.

Starz, my mS is so much better now, eve though I may still puke when I'm tired. The gynae say most prob a boy, but will confirm during detailed scan next week.

Terrible Two

I really have a taste of it. Char is getting so very stubborn and will even do things that she know she's not suppose to do. Like the other day I told her the cilli padi id ot she insisted on putting into her mouth, then her face just turn red with the hot flashes. But she do the same thing again the next day and try to get my attention. No amount of punishing seem to help. She now wont chi ruan nor chi ying. She just want lots and lots of attention. At times, I just look at her and dunno how to deal with her anymore.

Toilet Training

My mum will start toilet training again today. Well, will see how it goes bah. SInce CHar has been pooing for the last few days, think we can risk her constipation for the next few days bah. This girl now knows how to tell us she wants to poo and pee but refuse to do it on a potty or the toilet bowl.

HK Trip
=======
Thanks to Mummies who gave advice. We survived, but it was a very very tiring trip. Char dilocated her arm so she spent a night in hosp, worrying about her and worrying about whether I'll catch the germs in the hosp. Then bb in tummy refused to mover for two days. Haiz, a very tiring trip, but think this gal enjoyed too much now everyday ask to go out...
