hi mummies,
any of ur babies hav runny nose and cough(with phelgm) for more than 2/3 weeks? I had brot my son to see doc 3 times and the doc has even prescribed him stronger medication but seems useless. he still cannot recover. So sian, he has not been sleeping well for the past 3 weeks. Any advice?

hi yenny, my son had the same experience too and i was tired of bringing him to the pd cos they always say the same thing.. so i tried to bring my baby for TCM massage. many babies there. i've just brought my baby there upon recommendation n the sinseh says have to go back 3 times. they massage the baby for 20 mins. cant see the results cos too soon (have to go back for 1 more time) this place v crowded. have to wait quite long.

my sil oso advise me to bring my son to see TCM(Yu Ren Sen). But I very hesitant cos i wonder if he dare to take the chinese medicine powder(mix wif water) cos it's so bitter. But she said too much western medicine very potent, not good. U know one of the medicine tat the doc prescribe is quite strong, the side effect is having tremors. Now his third prescription is running out, I hav to bring him to see doc again cos still cannot recover.

Sandy - Then maybe that's why lor...Jokes aside, giving out AP to everyone who is not married is just countless. Furthermore, me not working and raising up a kid is very expensive these days. From what I know, my cousins and relatives also adopted this policy...heng ah!!!

We bring my girl to my mum's place every weekday and only stay for dinner on tues n thurs. Mon, Wed & Fri will be at my IL's place. But she hates both places. She will only sleep at home. Since birth we have this arrangement but then she still can't get used to it.

Cait fell from bed today!! I got a shock of my life!!!! my heart nearly pop out! I made appt with my pd n rushed there. Thank God nothing happen to her. SHe was not even hurt anywhere n my bed is like so high up. i think the bolster broke her fall. After the check up, we went to buy the bed guard for my girl then went church to give thanks to God for looking out for our girl.
there goes our Vday. didnt celebrate but the weekend we chked in to four seasons (where we held our wedding) to celebrate in advance.
made porridge for cait today! successful n cait loves it. Stock - chix, leek, celery, onions & carrots --> then use it to cook with white n brown rice till soft. For mums who are interested in making nice tasting porridge. it taste v sweet.

not sure if u want to try this, when my ger had cold n cough d other time n didnt recover despite taking western medi for more than a week, my mum suggested i give her "chuan bei pi pa gao", just a tip of a tsp diluted with a bit warm water n i only gave her twice n she recovered within 2 days. moreover it's sweet n refreshing so my ger took readily n cried when finished. if i had tried earlier, probably could have ended her discomfort sooner cos it pains us more than anything else seeing them so uncomfortable n both bb n mother cant sleep well too.

Most of Dylan's toys are gifts. He likes toys which are a bit complicated so he has to figure them out. For home-made puzzles, I'll link a teether to a dummy holder to a wheel toy and he'll spend a long time studying it. One of his favourites at the moment is Vtech Musical DJ Junior. ;-)
I don't clean his toys as often as I should. Heh.
Are you wondering what toys to get? If you're interested, Fisher Price Amazing Animals Sing & Go Choo Choo is very highly rated in the UK and has won awards. The other is the Mothercare 5-in-1 Super Fabric Trekker. Both are award-winning. I would've got them if we stayed on in the UK and had our own place so it's ok to have the house strewn with toys. ;-p

The foods I introduce are not very tasty, some are very bland, cos I would like my little fella to not be a fussy eater and once introduced to these 'horrible' foods, won't refuse them later in life. For eg, I haven't bothered introducing potato cos I'm certain he'll like this. I don't like peas, celery, cauliflower, but I made sure he's been introduced to them. ;-p

Sigh, just talking abt E being healthy, he has to have flu today and fuss and spoil our Vday dinner. I was quite upset coz I thought I could have proper nice dinner in restuarant ambience. These days I eat at hawker centre or tak pao back.
OC - Maybe I can try yr method. He's so fussy he wont let anyone clean his nose.
MTDT - Yah, monitor as in blood test every 3mths. nothing to make it go up, only thing is to have him rest and eat well.

CHM, i gave birth in Mt E. hm..so we prob wouldnt have met b4.
So sad.. ytd night my MIL told me my elder has alot of phlegm. so she gave her the phlegm medicine. I did write some time ago on the bottle that the medicine is for phlegm and dosage is 1.3ml 2 times a day in chinese. But somehow, i got a funny feeling. So just now, i went to ask her which medicine did she give. Then she pointed out the correct bottle. Then i asked her how much she gave. And she just grinned. Then i knew it was bad. She told me she gave her 2.5ml. And i told her i wrote it there, how can she give double the dosage. Then i said can die one lor. And she told me, can die one meh. aiya. too many medicine liao la. forgot ma. Sigh. So angry. i knew she would forget that's why i WROTE it there for her ma. Then i told her next time b4 giving medicine just call me. I AM VERY VERY ANGRY. FEEL LIKE SLAPPING HER AND SCOLDING HER but i got to REN! And it seems from her replies that she didnt bother to check the bottle and just arga arga give.

stime we cant be help. There are sure to have accidents thru-out the life. be bless that Cait is ok and this is only a minor accident. There is an accident insurance for kid at 1yo. Coverage pretty wide, from DBS. U may want to take a look when cait is one. I got one for my daughter. only $9 per month.

Yenny, eeyore - Is the flu just sneezing or sneezing and lots of "pi ti"? Emerson got a cold, and its really difficult for him to sleep last night and I end up only sleeping at 5am. Really a torture. I hate it when he's sick. My mood's damn lousy, especially CNY is round the corner, with so many ppl around and not enuff rest he sure will be sick for even alonger period.
Z-Lia, yr MIL thinks that give higher dosage will make Germayn heal faster? Shld prob be the case, coz she mentioned Germayn has alot of phelgm. Think u shld let her know that givign her more than she shld wil not help her to heal faster in fact will make it more worse. Tell her that the "mi fang" to faster healing is to take the correct dosage and a regular and correct timing. Do u bring yr kids to "tui na"?

last nite v'day dinner was at rochester park not bad la. super ex.. ha.. no gift. but okay la.. dinner super ex already.
MIL agreed to take care of bb, but end up she didn't come home from office till a few minutes before we did. turns out my poor FIL (whom we didn't ask n didn't exactly tell him that we were going out for dinner together) n d maid (whom i informed of the nite routine for bb in case MIL dunno), were the ones who took care of kristen. feel bad la, cos when we got back, FIL was mopping kitchen floor n maid still washing dishes.. n it was around 10 something! next time learn liao, dun ask MIL to help take care of bb.. she tua us 2 out of 2 times we asked her to help. Career-driven MIL.. opposite from most mils hor. haha.

My HB & I will quickly go have our dinner once our Boy sleep. We just push the strolley and park it at the side of the table and he will just doze off till we finish eating.
He is also a good boy when we go shopping.. he is only cranky when he is hungry or poo else if the pram is not stationary he will sleep all the way.

haha i intro cait to different food but mostly veg first (celery, peas, carrots, pumpkins) cus I know how fussy kids are with veg esp the greens. Next week intending to give her broccoli to try. Have not given her fruits yet cus i know she sure like fruits cus sweet. If i give her fruits then she like it better than veg then hard to feed.

They nvr offered to babysit Cait cus I think their mentality is that they have done their fair share of taking care of their children now its time to relax. I also don't expect them to cus the bb is our responsibility so I'd rather give up all the high paying job offers for my Caitz.

For Ang Baos, i only give to those who come visiting at my pl. as long as not married, but older then me, i still give. cos they are usually my long time friends liao, is like give them a red packet for good luck. some friends do ask for it even if they dun come visiting at my pl, i just ignore and take as a joke lor. Well.. customs mah, must do it the right way right?
Zlia, i will faint on the spot, if my mil does that. but i realise, for my mom, sometimes she abit forgetful also. but at least she'll check wif me, other small small things she forget i'll just pass it. cos i feel sometimes, they cannot follow our details instruction. old liao, cannot take all these new methods that we impose. so as long as bb is doing well, i just keep 1 eye close, sometimes both. if not they will find it hard to take care of bb for us. but wrong dosage of medicine, I CANNOT ACCEPT!
For Ang Baos, i only give to those who come visiting at my pl. as long as not married, but older then me, i still give. cos they are usually my long time friends liao, is like give them a red packet for good luck. some friends do ask for it even if they dun come visiting at my pl, i just ignore and take as a joke lor. Well.. customs mah, must do it the right way right?
Zlia, i will faint on the spot, if my mil does that. but i realise, for my mom, sometimes she abit forgetful also. but at least she'll check wif me, other small small things she forget i'll just pass it. cos i feel sometimes, they cannot follow our details instruction. old liao, cannot take all these new methods that we impose. so as long as bb is doing well, i just keep 1 eye close, sometimes both. if not they will find it hard to take care of bb for us. but wrong dosage of medicine, I CANNOT ACCEPT!

eeyore - I think Kiddy Palace's things are expensive. Even the socks, me can get a pair for 80 cents - 1 dollar outside compare to $3-$4 in Kiddy.

her flu is running nose n occasionally sneezing few times at 1 go so when she slps, i feel like she has got difficulty breathing cos alot of sound from her nose... i clean her nose until she feel fedup n pain already... so these 2 days her nose dry up already then i removed her dried "bi ti" when she's aslp... hehe...
YB, js now went to chamellon to buy the hairband... so cheap only $1.90... then bought some small clips for the hairband... u got the dark n light green one... i got the purple one... not much colors available...

hubby n i have never brought her out to eat when only 2 of us. NEVEERRRR.. mite as well eat one by one cos one person have to entertain her n one person eat. even bring with my family, one person has to rush thru dinner so that the person entertaining her can eat. she cannot sleep in pram one.. happened only twice. very very rare. what pram ya using?

My girl had cough for 2-3 weeks and had just recovered. My mom actually wanted to try the chinese medicine "Hou Ning" from EYS on her. But I resisted coz don't feel good feeding her the green powder. Luckily she had since recovered after visiting the PD 3 times. But for adults who have persistent cough, I would recommend it cos I tried it myself and it actually cleared my cough the very next day.
I just went EYS and bot Pak Poh powder meant for babies and infants. Suppose to cure cough and clear phelgm. Will see if it works.

When Xavier is sleeping, the 'pi ti' won't flow b ut u know there's lot of it in the nose area cos u can hear the stuffiness. He oso had a sleepless nite last nite. Now i am like a zombie at work.
