Hi mummies, finally got some time to log in, but my eyes are like shutting liao.

Peach, thans for the sites, i am one of those very "gain" mums who wants to attempt to do disgital scrap booking and sorts for bb, but til now my engine is still off.

Zita/ Z-lia - I think so, but I worry abt the cost too. Actually I dont hav a "fixed" PD for E. Maybe I will go back to Dr Lam from Gleneagles? His appt is 5th March.

Sandy - Me interested in the bash.

YB - Same here! Even I go learn drving, for the very short hours, my MIL calls on the dot to page for me to go home! @#$!

Happy Valentine's Day mummies!!

me n hb intend to leave bb cait with my ILs but very afraid they can't handle her. They are also afraid she get separation anxiety and cry for few hrs until we come back to get her.

hmm... how to go back to the work force again? That day I went out with my friend for only 3-4 hrs, she wailed so loudly when she sees me and refused to let anyone else touch her even my hb.

you are a twin. Do u and your sister look very identical now? I also wanted to have a twin, my Husband's anuties gave birth to a twin so by right we got chance ( we thought 1 time give birth to Long Feng Tai then can close shop ) haiz.. I want GIRL GIRL

How are u all going to celebrate V day ?? I taking half day off to have a date with my girlfriend instead of HB... haha
 
Hi ylc,
It's normal for bb at tis age to feel separation anxiety. Try to bring ur gal to ur IL's a few times so tat she's more familiar wif them. When it's time to say goodbyes, do not prolong the whole process as it'll b harder for ur gal.

When u r ready to start work, at least ur gal is wif someone whom she's familiar wif.

Since birth, I bring my gal to MIL's hse at least once a week for dinner. Every Friday night, my gal also sleeps over at my mum's plc. This is to let her get used to being wif other ppl & environment.

In the beginning, my gal will cry & diff to fall asleep. But after a few weeks, she's fine. It's amazing how bbs can adapt very well to diff environment.

Sandy, I working whole day leh. But after that going to eat dinner with hubby lor. He booked some place to go eat n is pretty secretive about it. All I know is that the appetizer I cannot eat. it's crab salad , i dun eat shellfish. haha.


Leaving kristen alone with the ILs & maid. normally it's me n hubby who take care of her whole nite n get her to bed. hopefully either we're back early enuff to do it.. hai. ILs have not had the chance to do it (can't blame them either, they never offered, i never asked) .. already told maid the routine before bed. so hope all goes well.

yah my friend never officially come my house Pai Nian just asking me to meet on the 7th day of lunar month.

How much should I give ? Aiyo now i understand why parent "mark" on the AngBao already.
 
Sandy, hurrrr NOT AT ALL! this is the FIRST time in our 5 years together that he book dinner without me asking. n he gave a disclaimer.. say dinner quite ex.. so no present ah.. but i'm quite ok with it la. i think i treasure the time together more than a present la. unless it's d coach wallet i've been wanting *dreaming* anyway, must give him the credit la. once in awhile he tries.


PM... agree with MTDT. for ur own peace of mind n hopefully for a better explanation of what to expect etc. go seek 2nd opinion. keep the KKH option (for subsidized stuff.. cheaper tests.. dunno if reliable or not but can always get the test results n bring somewhere else for 2nd opinion also), but it's ur right to seek 2nd opinion n to be sure that u r not being told incorrect stuff.

Nope, we're not identical. But we used to look quite alike when we're children. It's not easy to take care of a bb, wats more a pair of twins. And to juggle ur family life wif work commitments & studies, it may even be worst...

YB - it's normal for them to "throw" things now. they are learning cause n effect.

dun need to pick up for her. Zavier will throw, then crawl over to pick up then throw again. he can do this for 1hr!!! hahaha

good exercise for him too! haha

JB - post a pic of u n ur twin sis leh! :p
 
So far, I only give ang pow to those who visit. As Cantonese, usually give 2 packs of $4. Anyway is just a token for them lah.

btw, Arin's PD suggested that we give her flu vaccination jab next month (at 8 months)...she says it's optional so wondering if any mummies going to give your darlings the flu jab?

I dun give ang bao to single friends, even if they visit my hse during CNY..haa..haa...cos normally my hse will become a gambling den for them & they earn their ang bao depending on their luck.

Will b having dinner tonight wif hb. Leaving my gal wil MIL. But gotta come back early before her bedtime. Am more comfy leaving my gal wif my parents, but they also going to pak toh at chinatown tonight, so no choice.

Cos she'll throw things down from the high chair, then I gotta pick up for her..very tiring. Think she's damn lazy lor...if she's on the playmat & throw things around, she'll just watch the thing move away. And if it's too far for her to reach 'conveniently', then she'll leave it there...

HI mummies,

regarding bbs throwing things, I do gently 'reprimand' my ger when she throws it such as telling her 'no, no' etc. I have a niece who used to throw things when she was a bb. When we told the parents that they should stop her..they said its ok. IN the end, the bb was still throwing things when she was 2 years old and once she nearly wanted to throw a porcelain spoon! By then it was more difficult to teach her whats right or wrong. Thats just my thots lah :))

Happy V-day to all mummies! Me having V-day lunch with hubby cos bb sleeps very early so no choice...

but so far zavier only throw a specfic toy.

those stacking rings - the rings.
instead of stacking it, he throws it n crawl to pick it up then throw again.

on highchair - most of the time is becos he "drops" it. not throwing on purpose. :p

2nd Opinion - I think so too, I wanted to call Dr Lam, but very pai seh, if I call means no consultation fee for her to earn, but I'm like consulting her already, so I feel she might not tell me in details if over the phone. My hubby, my parents have 2nd thoughts abt sending Emerson to do "tests" because they vhave thinking that he's okay and we check and check til he's not. (pang tang) I do agree also, but I duno if I can have a piece of mind if I dont.

not celebrating too... on half day later but hb got mtg in the afternoon so not joining me... so I'll go orchard to do abit of shopping, see wat can i grab then go home tidy up the house... at night go fetch my gal from mum's place... so boring...
 
Eeyore, at least u still get to go orchard. Hahaha, me stay at home wash clothing, cook porridge. ;p

Just called Dr Lam, she says she has seen some cases like that. She feels its just a development thingy. Meaning to say, it will even out in time, just like some babies learn to talk and walk faster than other. She says there's nothing to worry abt since Emerson is gaining weight well and despite WBC being low, he's seldom sick too (TOUCHWOOD) meaning to say he's quite healthy already. She's not suggesting me to go for further test, but to keep monitoring his WBC count until he's abt 1~2 yo and bring him back to her when he's 9mths. Just keep him away from places where he might pick up infection like clinics, hospitals etc.

Felt more assuring after I called her. Stupid me, shld hv called her earlier...

PM, maybe can find out WBC too low than needs urgent attention also. so when u monitoring u noe what to look out for. ha.. if go kkh for more testsssssss, ur boy would be exposed to more children... nothing wrong until become something wrong. cheers. =)

Angpows -> my hubby's friends (single males) wanna give angpow to kristen. they very funny leh. think they very excited over baby n now CNY got more reason to give her stuff. hurr... looks like hubby n i have to go give ang pow to them also. haha..
 
Zita, think yr friend must be worry sick..Hopefully EMerson can br like yr frd's boy.. healthy and strong too. I kept blaming myself the past two day. I thought because I am anaemic during preg hence BB is like that.

Yah peach.... Once WBC low, he'll get sick... that's why they say too, nothing wrong also become something wrong.

but how to monitor urself? means still hv to go take blood test? then maybe can ask PD - anything bb can eat more to improve etc?

just print out the free class from mumcentre website. and appear on 25feb.

Mummies,

My precious girl fell from the bed yesterday!! Totally my fault as I took the risk of taking my eyes off her for a moment to turn on the PC.. Heartache and heartpain..... Also feel really angry at myself for my negligence!!!

Am monitoring her now for signs of vomitting/significant changes in behaviour etc. So far, she seems alright.. Thank God..

mummies... what kinda toys do u buy for ur babies? do u all buy a lot? which kinda toys do they like best? how to u clean them? and how often to u clean the toys?

Some of the hairbands r from Kiddy Palace, some from a pushcart in Bugis/Suntec, some from JB City Sq, some from Chameleon. Actually lotsa accessories shop sells children's accessories too. Kiddy Palace hairbands r too ex!

I don't buy a lot of toys for my gal. Most of my toys are gifts during Kaylyn's full mth celebration & 2nd hand passed down from my sis. I'll keep everything in a box & take out some for my gal to play. Every other day, I'll alternate the toys so she doesn't get bored. I usually clean them at night after my gal sleeps. Just rinse wif water.

I think bbs our age like toys with sound or music & with movable parts...at least my gal likes them.
 
brambles, hehe.. goody. but must say that adobe photoshop elements really user friendly. like the photoshoot layout? that one was a pre-designed one (ha. me lazy), n juz drag n drop the photos and it will adjust everything for u. very brainless one. hehe. but if ask me to be more creative.. the photoshop cs2 more flexible i feel..

toys... i do buy toys for my girl.. but in the end, her current favourite toy is this old-school hand-me-down rattle. The one with a thin handle for easy holding and two rattle-balls at the side. snort. there goes all of the toys mummy specially pick out at the shops to 'stimulate' her.

actually zavier hates to be inside alone.
he will stand with the panels as support and cry for us!

so since he hates it, dun think i will invest in one permanently.

if really need to buy, i get those cheap cheap ones. they very happy with simple toys.

for those big n expensive toy and i dun hv any 2nd hands one. I will rent first to test. Then usually after 1 mth, will find tat it's not necessary to get them! hahaha :p
