liverpool
my little ian dun hv passport yet..and dun think hb wanna go too...i oso free for bb one day...me can relac and shop..if not hb tag along..cannot spend $$ shiok too..hahahaha

dsii, liverpool,
Yes, it's very different going with and without kids. Are there any baby essentials that are cheaper in JB?

Dsii, good to hear that. My hubby also going to Malaysia, but he's going Genting with his friends and not us. Sigh. He says drive up the hill very dangerous to bring us there
sad.gif

Mums, how much porridge do u give yr bbs? He can only take a small bowl. Usually he cant finish 1/4 cup of rice. Dunno if he's full... coz he wotn want milk unil 4-5hrs later.

Zoe - What are yr priorities? For me, my main concerns are hospitilization n savings for Emerson. I've bought the NTUC Enhancesheild. A hospitalization plan that utilizes CPF Medisave to pay for hospitalization. On top of that, I paid cash for a rider that covers the deductible and co-insurance. In the event that he gets hospitalised, i dont need to pay a single cent.

On top of that, I bought also a personal accident plan that covers him in the event of accident.. Coz I scare he will hurt himself, esp when toddler, very accident proned. This plan will also cover 14 infectious diseases such as Hand foot and Mouth and dengue fever... can claim medical expenses up to $5000 (depending on plan) other than death or disability.

I am currently still studying endowment/savings plan for him. Many recommend ILP (Investment linked) but I'm more conservative in this sense. So prob I wont go for it even thou the returns might lookfar more attractive than others.

Zoe,

Yap, know that too. But for us, we want Gerrard to be with us whenever possible. Feel weird without him around. Baby essentials pricing after comparing, its only a very small difference, so get in SG also same.

zoe
ya loh..if bring ian..think most of the time i will be feeding him..change diapers..pat him to sleep...etc...hahahaha
i think quite cheap bah...my fren bought me a netted sarong..and a milk powder container..both costs only S$5...i saw the same milk powder container at kiddy palace...cost $6.50..in JB only ringgit$5.50..she mentioned she saw a rompers in metro..cost $9.90..but in JB same romper only ringgit $8.90..she bought a diaper bag Sin dollar ard $8...so im following her to shop shop..hehe...

PM
my fren said she went to a shopping ctr near malaysia custom..just 10mins walk..so we are going to walk in loh..hahaha...if next time u interested can join us loh..

PM
just a few hrs... maybe u can ask someone like ur MIL to take care for just a few hrs??? hmm...ur SIL found someone to take care of her ger liao buay?

Yes, Infant Care...but the BB very poor thing loh. fever 3x since day 1 in infant care. Then ytd ask me to help her out today, coz she cant afford to take any more leave.

She dont even fang xing to let my MIL take care.. I also scare of her. Remember the fish porridge incident? What if she gives some other things like bak kwa??

Hello mummies... Zzzzz.. just came back from work about half an hour ago.

Took half day this morning to do up my resume. Haha. It's done now, and i'm very excited! Can start applying for jobs.

Realise that Germayn still can't eat solids. She totally HATES eating anything from a spoon. After trying for 2.5 weeks (MIL was like..having war with her everyday, giving her porridge from the side of her mouth, stuffing in the pacifier so she wouldn't push her porridge out), everyone decided that it was too painful for her, and ourselves, so from tomorrow onwards, we'll just bottlefeed her one 'meal' of brown rice everyday till she turns 7 months, then we'll start trying again. Am thinking of putting FM with the brown rice, instead of bm. It took me one whole day to convince myself that i can start giving her a feed of fm, with the brown rice. Think i'm crazy. haha. Used to mix bm with brown rice, but thought it's abit 'wasted'. haha. cos' in order to let the brown rice dissolve, the bm must be quite warm, and i have to shake the bottle quite vigorously, so i think the nutrients in the bm would have...'died'. so abit no point also..hor...? haha.

PM,
I'm not sure. I guess not too different from your concerns. Haven't had time to think about it indepth. Why did you choose NTUC? Do you know if it's easy to claim from them?

dsii,
Ok, will be taking a trip to JB with Dylan in the next couple of weeks, so will look out for things like that to buy. Yes, when I'm out with D, it always feels like I wasn't properly out wherever we've just been. Cos it's all about tending to him. Shopping has never been the same since. Going out for meals as well. Easier to stay at home and just forego shopping sometimes.

Zoe, NTUC has the most comprehensive Sheild plans, everything is as charged..as in no cap to the amt claimed for each individual "items" but AVIVA is better coz they have free coverage for kid up to age 8. I didnt choose AVIVA coz I guess it be harder to claim since their agents are mostly stationed in Banks, and its harder to find them... but thats just my thinking.

and for the other acci plan, I think NTUC is the only ins co that covers HFMD (which is pretty common for kiddo) and dengue fever.

PM,
Oh. Thanks for the info. Good to know. We tend to live in high risk dengue fever areas. My mum got it a few years ago and it was very serious. So I'll go for NTUC if it covers dengue. I'll give AVIVA a look as well.

Z-lia,
my boy also like that at first, we put cereal inside his milk for few days.. then reduce the cereal amount slowly. Now he is drinking plain milk already.
PM,
the toys u post in the thread got pictures ?

YB yr gal tempted me leh, photo u $188/- wat is the package like? how many photo we can take back har? or any website i can go c c look look

zlia..my gal took 3weeks to start eating porriage well leh..i almost give up oso..keep throwing away : (

Hi zita, z-lia,
My gal still refuses to eat porridge after trying out for several weeks. sigh...resign myself to the fate tat she simply doesn't like it. Now, Kaylyn also rejects banana cereals. But strangely, she takes bananas on its own.

The only thing Kaylyn likes to eat is brown rice mixed with FM. And it's the easiest to feed cos I bottle-feed her. Other than tat, I feed her a few spoonfuls of fruits & vegs.

Hi mummies,

Hi Yenny,
K, no prob.

Hi Pooh,
Quite a dist to walk to my plc. I know cos I've walked from my hse to my mum's opp Hougang Green. Past by ur hse everytime.

Yenny,
Song & SOng at Holland Village got some nice "The Children Place" top at $5 each. If u are ard there, drop by. I got 3 tops for Janelle. The shop is beside the burger king.

Pooh,
I wun be bringing my ger along. I dun think i can handle two. Hubby promised to look after my ger so i am coming with my boy.

Hi Zoe,
You are back??? As I will not be able to attend the gathering, let me know how I can collect the bibs from you.

Hi mummies,

Do you all have any problems when changing your bb's diapers and clothes? Just wondering am i the only one having troubles. My girl refused to be powdered, just wanna roll around naked. Cry so loudly when i wanna change her into her clothes. my hb once thought what happen that she is crying so cham... like a beat her or what haha
Wipe her face also very tough... like battling with her and she is so strong knows how to turn her head away. me n hb always have to pin her down to powder her, change diapers and wipe face haha.
Do you all have to same problem? How do you manage?

YLC,
I have the same problems as you. Have a hard time changing my girl's diaper, wipping her face and changing her clothes. The moment she is on her back she will flip here and there. I usually try to give her something to hold in her hand so tat she can at least lie down properly on her back to let me put the diaper. When hubby or another person is around, will get them to distract her so i can put the diaper properly.
As for cleaning her face, have yet to find a solution. She simply refuses to let me touch her face even her face is dirtied wif porridge after her meals. will have to do it quickly and endure her screams...anyone with any solution?

YLC,
my boy like to flip when i change him but he will lie down quietly if he knows he is going for his bath.

BTW, u powdered ur ger? Why not apply lotion? The little one may breath in the powdered partical and may cause them to have sensitive nose next time.

Mezzo,
I just wiped. I dun really bother if my boy bawl.

mezzo, hong,

my girl will flip flip flip n roll away frm me. she just like to be naked. Changing diapers is the worst cus she will not lie still anymore
sad.gif

haha my hb ask me to powder, i wanted to put lotion. maybe i shld change to lotion cus now she keeps scratching the back of her legs, arms n face.

YLC,
u can try diaper pant instead. Dryper have (M) pants. U can it and use it when u are outside where laying down to change diaper is not possible. (if cannot find nursery room)

ylc, i have the same problem.. u are not alone... but i realise, my boy does that when he is cranky or sleepy.. must distract him lor.. give him a rattle or get my husband to play wif him while i clean and change him... if not, i dun care liao.. let him go cry all he wants while i just continue to quickly wipe and change..

ylc,
I have to be very quick when wiping his face and hands. Changing nappies, I give him a toy or nappy to hold or let him wriggle and follow his twists and turns. When he protests loudly over anything I let him carry on and just try to get it over with quickly.

blessings,
I'll let you know when I receive the bibs. Hope they arrive before my friend has to leave the UK. The co. says they should arrive any day.

Hong
Now my project at peak, no time to go shopping. Haven even buy CNY goodies and my new clothings yet. But thanks for telling me. Will try to go and take a look.

ylc
I will wrestle wif him. I will ignore his crying and protests.

hi dsii,
oh can hah? ok, pse help me to collect from Zoe if possible and I will collect from yr place. Thanks!!!
happy.gif

blessings
no prob..of cos can lah..provided the bibs reach zoe be4 gathering loh...cos till today she havent receive the bibs..but of cos i can help u...

Hi mummies,

yeah i also wrestle with her but she is quite strong. if i let her play with her toys, she will just turn away and flip somewhere else to play alone. Aiyo, i have to ask my hb to pin her down then i can change her. But in the meantime, she will struggle free from my hb. Hb also agreed that she is pretty strong for a small one.

Hello, me too, my boy yell and cry like anything...but I just continue to do my stuff on him and let him cry. At most I try to give him something else o distract him..most of the time its the pigeon wipes coz he likes the "plastic" sound.
