Paula,
High five (on the distance doesnt matter)! I have been bringing G to Kidsloft for a couple of weeks now (twice a week)....all the way from Tampines (mostly via mrt+cab coz cab alone can double the fee!). Tired but satisfied to see her face lit up. Hehe...But maybe only have enough energy to do this for a term..Next term, have to change plan.

sunflower : checked already - plus junk mail - NO PM !!! heehee, (i like so eager to do work ...)

PP : u must go learn from your mum !!! i think arrowroot chips is so hard to find in Sg !

Mspiggy : the dresses are cute ! bring in !!

Lyn,
Yea, there is a branch at Grassroots and that branch is opened to public. Most of the LV branches are only opened to the employees of that particular institution or organization only unless it is a newly set up. Another plus point is that their menu for children are approved by one of the ministries or department of doesn’t know what … so should be quite good lah.

Hmm, woodlands would be nearer than Bukit Timah right?

MTDT,
About 15 minutes drive if I take the short route … should be okay lah. Hubby said important thing is that Kell must like the place. If she don’t like the place, no matter where she is being placed, she will spend a longer time in adjusting it … which is quite true. If she likes it, environment is good and safe, teachers are nice … then whatever long the journey … we have to endure loh!

paula,
oh.. thanks for highlighting.. in fact there are some many different centres out there.. it's so confusing for us. I'm actually looking at a daily half day programme for my boy to begin with, so your research is really useful

paula
MMI stuffed wif homework? i'm surprised cos i always thot Montessori stresses on no worksheets etc...ya i'm oso not sure if full Montessori approach is suitable for SG's education syst...Carpe Diem is MI approach yeah?

Cutie,
Not yet lei … I know they have a branch at Sunshine place … maybe I will drop by to take a look. RP branch, the tots will be housed at the first level and they will have their own canteen and own toilets and music room. The older tots are housed at level two and they too have their own toilets and canteen. So, in terms of separating the younger ones from the older ones, the segregation is quite neat loh. Noise pollution really is being managed. And they have access to the pool in RP too … so on Friday, they could visit the pool too.

<font face="tahoma"> K Ong, thanks! will start the BP this thurs

By the way, for those mummies who are considering placing their children in flexi care program (FP), hmm, might want to take into consideration of the following. We were talking to the teachers and center manager about FP, ½ day or full day program for tots of our age. Most of them suggested starting them off with ½ day program first and slowly convert it into full day. Most of them felt that children enrolled in FP might take a longer time to adjust to the school as compared to those who go to school every day and for a longer duration. Adjustment period is longer because if they enrolled in a three days flexi program, they will probably be attending school on Monday, Wed and Friday. Hence, if the child started school on Monday, come Wed, both the child and the parent would have start the adjustment period all over again.

And to those mummies who are thinking of placing their children in Full day care, do check with the teachers how many of the current students in the tot class are on ½ day or full day. If there are only two or three children who are staying full day and the others are dismissed at noon, do checked with them if these two or three children will be attending classes alongside with the older kids or would the teacher continue on lecturing to them at their level. Some centers practice the former cos’ it might be more cost effective for them; some center will continue on with the playgroup or nursery lessons despite having one or two tots staying on in the afternoon.

Ashite,
Clemen anticipated this crash when I saw him in November 2007. However, he predicts it coming in 2009 or 2010 but it seems to come earlier lei. Scary scary scary…

paula

we were waiting for this crash since 2004 .... but was always bail out by someone, so lets c how US and what others will do tis time round

i agree on the flexi care part...

actually even monday - friday... then weekend is family time rite. come monday - it's a new adjusting day again. :p

wat my fren did was to take pics of her gal's classmates, teachers. then over weekend, will keep reminding her... this is Ms so so, etc etc.

then at lesat come monday, she is more willing to go sch again. :p

paula - I was also thinking tat it shd be in 2009 or later. never expect it to be now.

aishite - since 2004 huh? hahaha.. so all the others are just small market correction huh?
happy.gif

hahaha... I had been doing tat to Zav for the initial weeks with Nanny. over the weekend, i will always talk to Zav abt nanny, wat he do there, ask him where is nanny, where are gor gor, jie jie etc.

so think for CC - also similar concept bah.
