By the way, for those mummies who are considering placing their children in flexi care program (FP), hmm, might want to take into consideration of the following. We were talking to the teachers and center manager about FP, ½ day or full day program for tots of our age. Most of them suggested starting them off with ½ day program first and slowly convert it into full day. Most of them felt that children enrolled in FP might take a longer time to adjust to the school as compared to those who go to school every day and for a longer duration. Adjustment period is longer because if they enrolled in a three days flexi program, they will probably be attending school on Monday, Wed and Friday. Hence, if the child started school on Monday, come Wed, both the child and the parent would have start the adjustment period all over again.
And to those mummies who are thinking of placing their children in Full day care, do check with the teachers how many of the current students in the tot class are on ½ day or full day. If there are only two or three children who are staying full day and the others are dismissed at noon, do checked with them if these two or three children will be attending classes alongside with the older kids or would the teacher continue on lecturing to them at their level. Some centers practice the former cos’ it might be more cost effective for them; some center will continue on with the playgroup or nursery lessons despite having one or two tots staying on in the afternoon.
