Thanks!

MTDT,
Sunflower Montessori – taken off from our list liao. The room that the tots will be in is really small and it gets very stuffy as the day progresses. Not much of a curriculum and the teacher in charge could not speak very good English. Materials used such as paints and glue are not really friendly for their age. But their centre manager is one of the nicest that I have came across.

Carpe Diem @ Wattan Park – New centre; took over from Kinderland. Bright and cheery environment with a large section dedicated to kitchen pretence toys and a section of the house dedicated to gym. Very nice and cozy and the teacher caring for the tots spoke very good English and sounded experienced. Dal and I were impressed.

Learning Vision @ RP – Very nice setup. Kell was moving around the centre with ease. I even left her alone for about 15 minutes while I was brought around for an orientation. Bright and cheery environment too. Love their music room and classroom as well as their little canteen. Children would be exposed to musical instruments during music classes and in general, the children looked happy. Just that JZ spotted some worms creeping around the center. Teacher Putri said that they have alerted RP management but because the center is surrounded by greeneries, hence, it is something that the parents have to be alerted off loh; kids will be exposed to these visitors.

Dal and I will be visiting Learning Vision on this Friday again to catch the teachers in action. Lyn, you want to join in? Limited spaces left.

MTDT,
Okay, just let me know how much and I will pay (inclusive of Cel). E-mail or sms me hor incase I am not around. Flying off on this Sunday…

MsPiggy,
Sorry, will be placing my orders with Gym this week… sorry for the delay.

Pawprint,
So far … crayola paints are really the easiest to wash off loh … and the paint doesn’t have a strong chemical smell unlike d others…

mich - hahahaha... then we can hv a "throw socks war"!!! hahahha :p

*i will come prepare with some old smelly socks as special weapon!* hehe :p

Paula,
Thanks! Thought you might miss out my posting on the Gymboree
happy.gif

Thanks for the feedback on the school too.
happy.gif

so i told pp 20 loh...

faintz... smelly tofu!!! OILY SOMEMORE!
U win u win.... :p

sunflower - hey... u suddenly appear :p

ya, going to ask where is RP too? the only RP i noe is Raffles Place. :p

Btw seems like Kinderland is "closing" a few of their centres huh? the CD in pgl also formerly kinderland I heard.

Sunflower: Watten Park is along Dunearn Road... But I am worried about traffic jam in the morning and the evening lei!

RP is at Republic Polytechnic in Woodlands (5 mins drive from Causeway Point). I think this would be nearer for you right? I really love this place cos’ it is like a nice little house situated in a tranquil forest. The atmosphere is very relaxing. By the way, when you intend to place your child in? I was told that spaces are really running out first cos the center actually meant to service RP lecturers.

MTDT,
Yea, hunt till I headache. I was telling hubby, primary school how? LOL. Anyway, glad that kell seems to like LV @ RP and is extremely comfortable there. So most likely will settle for there lah. Not much energy left. And my take is that since the center is meant to service the lecturers’ children, hence, their standards must be very good! If not sure kena hamtam left right top and bottom. Hahhaa….

Sunflower, if you interested in LV.. there's a branch at Grassroots Club. You may wanna find out more since it's much nearer to you.

paula
LV @ Republic Poly sounds really fab..dal must be so pleased since she'll be shifting to that neighbourhood soon haha...i'll probably check out CD Watten since it sounds good too...near my place.

michele
i'm interested in the elc weekday trial...no date set yet rite?

wow... woodlands huh? why go there? near to u meh?

I was thinking of woodlands for Zav... since hubby work at woodlands... but later think think... cannot.. wat if he change job! hahahha :p

Duffy,
I heard that MMI is quite good. One of my colleagues sent their child there but from what I heard, standards quite high and the poor boy is stuffed with homework too. But he is settling in very well in P1 and he don’t even need any form of coaching for what is being taught in school cos it is already taught in MMI. Well, he attended MMI when he was 4 years old I think. So, not too sure would the standards applied for nurseries. But anyway, no full pledged Montessori school for me. There are schools of thoughts that believe that Montessori structured its curriculum in such a way that it encourages self-centered personality. Personally, I am more of a fan of MI than Montessori…

Lyn,
Yea, there is a branch at Grassroots and that branch is opened to public. Most of the LV branches are only opened to the employees of that particular institution or organization only unless it is a newly set up. Another plus point is that their menu for children are approved by one of the ministries or department of doesn’t know what … so should be quite good lah.

MTDT,
About 15 minutes drive if I take the short route … should be okay lah. Hubby said important thing is that Kell must like the place. If she don’t like the place, no matter where she is being placed, she will spend a longer time in adjusting it … which is quite true. If she likes it, environment is good and safe, teachers are nice … then whatever long the journey … we have to endure loh!
