Spicegal,

Im not missing the preg days. Me juz feel guilty towards my boy cos i dun take care of myself n also didn bond with him during pregnancy. or shld i say Simply bo chap.

So was thinking that the next pregnancy, i will be better towards the foetus in my womb.

re Vit C - very sorry for the exp date issue. contacted the online store, they mentioned they were not aware the exp date is 11/07. we are trying to work out something - sending the whole batch back to the US is not an option, as postage is already USD37 according to my parcel. i have also provided them with feedback re keeping future customers updated on exp dates. Will keep you posted.

lyn, wow... you so busy... bring A to class, then lunch and tea? like tai tai lifestyle le... so nice...

vivi - thanks for sending the chart over...
happy.gif

toto,

sorry to appear at your door so abruptly. me juz trying my luck as i forgotten to bring my hp with me yesterday.

Thanks. But i hope that he would be more compliance.

sunflower,

how u know I got the kumon cards? I cant remember whether its $15 or $20 per set leh. I bought it in one of tokomama's bulk purchase of kumon material. I think its great! Every stroke of the alphabet includes the direction and the numbering to guide the child on which stroke is next.

u wanna let your boy do writing ah? Actually 2 year old would be a good age to start on this... that's the time SM classes introduce it also. But it does not start with writing alphabets... normally starts with 2 dots and writing straight lines. Once they get the concept of following the dots to write the lines, plus reading 1 2 3 etc, then they will be able to do the kumon cards by themselves liao. This is S's favorite pastime liao... everyday he spends more than 1 hour writing in the day... I am glad its something he wants to do out of his own initiative... and it improve his concentration actually...
happy.gif

vivi,

dun feel so guilty, i think you did a great job. Your boy looks so active and happy. And its not too late to bond more with him now also
happy.gif

I also spend far lesser time with J than S. Had been feeling v guilty too cos J is a little speech delayed leh .... S had always been linguistically advanced... so I really think its becos J spent too much time with Daddy and TV liao
sad.gif
My hb dun speaks much so I think she lacks the stimulation. But in any case, the bonding between me and her is still there... I tried to increase my attention on her by singing songs with her ...

mic - dun think at this stage we can return all the vit C. i think they should give us a discount for the vit C. emailed them but they are slow in responding. will keep the rest updated soon.
happy.gif
thanks for your patience.

poohy, i think J is doing great! i love her hair...she looks so sweet and happy everytime i see her...
happy.gif

poohy, oh yes - re MMI - why don't you consider sending J and S for 4 half days a week? cos it is much cheaper than 5 half days. save about $150 a month...

poohy,

I read from your blog. I posted a comment too
happy.gif
keke... not letting him start on it la. My sis asking me how much it cost. so I read you got so want to check with you lo.
anyother useful things from Kumon?

MTDT,

haha no la. read above ...
happy.gif

btw A is Lyn's boy ;)

Dor: My office at china square central. If arranging to meet for lunch say next week, then no need to post to me liao :p Let's wait for the rest to respond then decide.

Toto: Hmmm, can get them to resend us the vit C replacements. Afterall you ordered 12 bottles in total....more bargaining power. The most we pay for the shipping charges for the replacement batch. No point sending back the current batch since they are expiring in 2 mths.

June gathering - September

Time: 1pm - 5pm

11) vivi (22 sep)
12) rodeo (TBC)

btw mummies with baby boy...
any of ur boys start to "explore" their didi?
zav keep touching, pulling his "didi" leh. (lucky only during bathing time)
wat am I suppose to do? stop him? let him be? or wat?

rodeo - resend the vit C replacements? i ordered 20 bottles BTW. But are mummies here happy to pay shipping charges? Do these mummies need extra bottles - if so, we end up with 40 bottles? Any comments?

I will be happy with some form of discount, rather than more bottles of vit C where I have to fork out additional for shipping.

toto,

I'm fine with any. don't mind extra bottles actually, my boy likes this vit C better than his multi-vits which taste like medicine!

toto,

thanx... J is better these days as she seemed more interactive and will participate in our daily evening "sing session". But till now, her golden mouth still only complete babbling only. I must admit I do yearn to hear her call me mama or mummy
happy.gif
I know it will come ... just wish it will come soon .... as I looked back, S started to call me and hb mummy daddy when he was barely 1 year old. ... plus recently the assessment at SM also showed she is average in speech development. Hope I can do more for her ...

oh for the MMI, I am still considering leh... I was almost certain of putting S into MMI to try liao but the teacher to student ratio for N1 is 12:1 leh... I think S will do better if the teacher to student ratio is small eg. SM class. So I registered him for the chiltern house and decided to just let him go and try it out.

For J, I am still wondering whether I should send her to MMI... this mummy here very indecisive wan... I am also considering a well reviewed CC TownForKids nearby, LV at bukit merah, Pat's schoolhouse at JW. Pat's would be good cos I heard the class size really vv small cos of the lower attendance/intake leh... dunno why its not as popular somehow...

hey your idea of 4 half day is great! But hor.. I dunno whether such arrangement is available at the MMI JW. gotta check. Saving $150 a month is a lot leh ...cos that money can spend on their individual music and playclub/edudrama.

Trying to nurture 2 children is real expensive... I calculated that next year when the duo goes to half day CC, edudrama/playclub, SM, music school, It's going to cost more than $2k a month. And I wont want to reduce my allowance to my mum even though the kids are in half day CC now... so .... long way to retirement hehee
happy.gif

sunflower,

ohh I was wondering who posted
happy.gif
I find kumon stuff vvvv useful! All those paper cutting, tracing, colouring, stickers are extremely useful leh. Can do those at age of 2 onwards liao. In fact I find that SM class hor... a lot of activities in 2 year old coincide with Kumon's worksheets (SM also give such worksheets) and they are strong in pre-writing motor skill development. Some of the things like manipulatives follow the montessori concept too. The only more original method in SM class is the ESP, photo memory thingy.

Morning!

Was on childcare leave, brought chloe for 2nd pneuomoccocal jab. Next mth, will be MMR.

panda, spicegal:
I went taka fair n bought the pigeon shoes! really good deal though sizes n colours are really limted
happy.gif

toto: Wow, 20 bot, even more bargaining power :p You can tell them you're stocking up, all the more they have to replace 8) Can check with the other mummies see what they think. My view is cos the current batch has to be consumed in these 2 months, I'd pay a bit more to have another bottle that can last till next year. Btw, the shipping is about $3+ right?

vitc - actually typically how long 1 bottle last uh? if zav is going to be having this on long term, i dun mind another bottle too (but of cos longer expiry date. haha)

poohy - ur reserach on presch is very comprehensive. so many choices!! haha :p

sunflower - i cant confirm yet... so din put name down loh.
happy.gif
btw which area is ur hse huh?

kite
great! you grab the shoes too! u bot fr where, basemt or 3rd flr?

MTDT
hahaaa...same prob i face...but dun really care. During bath time, he will touch & sometimes pull his 'didi'..distract him with bath toys lor. Sometimes when i change diaper for him, he will also touch 'his little one'..then i push his hands away..LOL. think its exploration stage bah...he will touch his nipple oso sometimes

poohy,

heehee, that's why I put initial SF = sunflower ;)
love to read your blog on S&J. very loving siblings...

thanks for info on kumon. hmmm kumon stuff is good huh..
my impression on kumon is truckloads of worksheets :p. that time saw the centre, the walls are filled with cabinets after cabinets of paper!! **faint**

kite,

wow good. jab + shopping...

re: pigeon shoes
sad.gif
why can't they manufacture it in bigger sizes?? anyone knows what type of shoes has soles like the pigeon and not the clarks hard type?

mummies, okies - i will wait for them to revert re discount, and will calculate which one more worth - to have the discount, or to have a replacement bottle. in the meantime, mummies, please try the vit C and see if your toddler likes it.
happy.gif
will keep you all update.
happy.gif

rodeo - yes - shipping is US$2.50 + base US$1.00 = US$3.50.

sunflower, glad to know X loves the vit C. It's also J's favourite! i dun mind ordering more from them if the exp is a year later.
happy.gif
can stock up...

mtdt - one bottle last about 2 months? so you should be able to finish your bottle by end Nov.
happy.gif

poohy, ha ha... MMI WC is very flexible. actually, in Nov, I plan to start J on one half day a week for 2 months. In Jan, he will be there for 4 half days.

Agree with you, nurturing kids can be quite expensive... but the rewards are really great! their smiles, laughter, etc. it's like God's sprinkle of blessings in our lives everyday...

toto,
J likes the vit c too! he doesn't like the 'yu gan you'. At least he likes this. I hv 2 bottles, i let my nephew try the other bottle cos scare cannot finish by Nov
