Just came back from Cherie Hearts. Visited three of their branches, (I) cashew terrace, (ii) jalan layang laying (jln jurong kechill) and (iii) jln darmawan (hill view). Jalan Layang Layang was closed today but from the outside, it seems to be the biggest branch among the three that I have viewed. They have a cosy outdoor garden filled with huge lil tikes toys. The unfortunate thing is that the center is closed today and I couldn’t tour the center. I will make a trip back next week.

The branch at cashew terrace: kelly was greeted with kitchen set toys after entering the gate and she seemed to enjoy herself but I find the entire house very cramped. Every corner that you turned got either tables or computers or shelves … felt very confined. Honestly, don’t feel really comfy. The PG1 room is small too but it is quite interesting as there is a toilet within the classroom for the PG1 students and it is linked to another room, known as ‘Dolls room’ where they can have their pretence play. No chances to gauge the quality of their teachers as there weren’t any students at the center today. Currently, they have only 4 to 5 children in the PG1 class.

As for the hill view branch, the house is slightly bigger than the cashew terrace branch. There was class today in this branch. Two teachers to about five to six students. The children were playing with macaronis and one of the young boy put the macaronis in his mouth … and this young boy was sitting next to the teacher. The centre supervisor have to shout out to the teacher and it was quite embarrassing. To be frank, I wasn’t impressed.

Three centers seem to be pretty new setup but the condition of the centers looks very worn out. To be frank, if I compared these three centers with Carpe Diem at Jln Jurong Kechill, the latter seems like a logical choice.

As for their curriculum, you can read about it from www.cheriehearts.com.sg. The centers allowed us to attend a 3 days trial before deciding to have our child registered or not. Wanna join me? But I could only make it after CNY.

I will be assessing Pat’s Schoolhouse next. As for Learning Ladder, I was told that they only accept children aged 2 years and above. But my friend insisted that they have playgroups. I am going to call them again.

i stay v near jln jurong kechil &amp; am looking at ccs near my place too but will likely enrol my ger only in sep 08. i went to carpe diem at jurong kechil b4 but found it too cramped, crowded n noisy..din like the interior of the place too...v dark n not well ventilated.

cherie hearts at jurong kechil sounds interesting...where is it located exactly? any nearby landmarks? i'm interested in learning ladder too...walking dist from my place. Another one that my fren sends her ger to is Kinderland at Hwa Chong Institution..not bad, very big place, u can check that out too.

Joy, my mum told me qipao is not suitable for our toddlers cos its too long. They will have difficulty walking properly, as its quite restricted, have to take small steps. My cousin's girl wore qipao before and had a bad fall during walking. She fell flat on her face.
