(2006/04) April 2006 MTB

Hi mommies,

Any one of you brought your child to the beach before and let them sit on and play with the sand (and shovel, spade, etc)?

My hubby is going away for 2 weeks.. and I am thinking of where to bring Shawn for 3 weekends so he won't be bored without daddy around...

But am worried he go and rub his eyes and sand get into it... hmm?

And also, any suggestions on where to bring little ones out on your own? Zoo seems abit intimidating for 1 parent to handle... where else? Appreciate some suggestions, thanks in advance!

Su, u can consider places like botanic garden.

Where do you stay? there a place in downtown east - Explore kids is like Gym for kids is very suitable for our babies now.

Beach - you may bring lots of wet tissue along with you since u r alone. Mat and clothings and towels that will do the trick. dont worry the sand wont get into his eyes if u "wash" his hands with wet tissue or wet handky.

If is weekend: maybe you can get some mommies here to join u.. so u wont be hands tied by yr own. If yr timing is good, i wont mind joining you

All mommies no worries i really would like every kid to enjoy themself and i really love to have playgroup if everyone is free and game to meet up. Reason why i so excited coz' after seeing the stickers and the cupcakes are confirm with names and everything and the prizes are packed. is getting me into the mood

Mommies seriously if u cant come early say like 1pm sharp or earlier.. feel free to come at yr suitable timing. As i've mentioned some mommies will be there till late.. of coz' if everyone can be present at the same time, it will be easier for the judge to make decision.

Jolie, Thanks! Isaac's bd is tmr

thanks for yr wish.

Coupons: seriously i dont kw how to help in this area. Coz' i myself also dont have. the mumcentre book seems run out lei.

Su,
Ds will eat the sand if we let him touch the sand. But we still bring him to the beach, let him touch the sea water with his feet. We also bring him to Pasir Ris Park to "play" on the playground.

Many thanks to mom_yam for putting so much effort on the birthday bash.

su - activities

botanic gardens - i like taking K to botanic gardens, sometimes we go alone or sometimes i'll meet up with a friend there. it's nice to go for breakfast (the new food court near Tanglin gate has baby chairs) and then take a walk.

gymboree - we take K there once a week now and she loves it! if you've never been, consider taking yr son for a trial class, it should be fun
happy.gif

nearby swimming pool or playground - even when we don't go swimming or playing at the playground, K enjoys watching other kids.

big supermarket - i let her sit in the trolley seat and she looks at all the products and bright lights and tries to throw everything out of the trolley! can also get yr groceries done, so kill 2 birds with 1 stone haha...

hope this helps!

Momyam, where do you stay? I stay around Sengkang area, am actually planning to bring Shawn to Pasir Ris park, maybe this coming sun. Then next weekend maybe Botanical garden, though I am rather fretful of driving there on my own... maybe will check out the Explore Kids at Downtown East... nearer to home :p

Then of course, can bring him swimming... will bring the stroller along so I can plonk him in for a while while I quickly dress up...

It has been a long while since I spend days with him alone... now not used to it! :p

miu, which gymboree do you take your bb to? Me exploring..
Aside from gymboree, are there any other baby gyms which could try for trial classes? Am keen to take my gal but haven't found time to explore where exactly they are...

Hi Su,

Hi mel,

Just brought Amanda back from the PD. Had her final pneumoccocal jab. And PD mentioned the following:

13th to 14th month: Chicken Pox vaccination (optional)
15th Mths: Mumps & measles etc
18th month: Polio booster + others if any
2 years old: Hep A (or issit Hep B? cant remember)

Just a rough guide, our toddlers (not babies anymore!) need about 800ml of fluid intake a day
out of these, 400-500ml should go to milk.

Can start giving them conflakes liao... hopefully my little stubborn will take her milk from there

babe

we take her to gymboree at vivocity/harbourfront. there is also one at tanglin mall and serangoon gdns i think.

i also checked out Little Gym (forum) and My Gym (great world city) but i found that i think she's a bit young for that even though it looks v fun. they have mini gymnastics equipment, i feel it's more suitable for bigger toddlers.

RE: UTI
Any of u ve heard of babies with Urinary Tract infection (UTI)?

Apart from waiting for results and make bb drink more water, what other things to do?

XT has been running high fevers becoz of UTI and it doesnt seem to be stablized and persisted ard 37.4 ~ 38 and at nights ard 39+. PD said probably to take at least 3 days for the fever to come under control with antibotics.

Can she take lin yang or not? Or barley water etc? Anybody noe?

koalarie,

My girl has taken lin yang before.. when she was around 6-7 mth old when teething started and she was down with fever. But once fever subsided, stop on lin yang lor cos it may be too liang for them already.

barley water.. my girl has been regularly drinking, especially when she dun poo poo haha.. so it is fine
happy.gif
But if she poo, then we dun feed her barley.

MOM_YAM,
