seems like everyone got the same problem. My hair is all over the place also. and when I just sweep my hair back, i got strands of hairs on my fingers. So scary. Hopefully this phrase will pass soon.

Have you all started cereals on your baby? If so, what you let them try?

RE: weight Loss
I still hv another 3kg to go..1 inch from my tummy as well :p

RE: Cereal
My mil had purchased e brown rice cereal w ikan bilis in it..intending to give to Ivec one of these days..however, i hv read some articles tt it's best to bf exclusively for 1st 6mths..so still considering leh..any feedback?

Jasminetea,
done transaction already.

Bblim,
no worries. we do go woodlands for dinners when bb is not ard.. so not a prob. N plus items not too huge.. unlike the exersaucer so my car still can take n go. =p

Shylyn
previously yes b4 pregnancy. But i wasn't diligent to go back after marriage n so now going to finish all the sessions taken up. So far, only been back once... n then met the "Da yi ma" n then national day.. 2morrow is the session but da yi ma seems like not finished yet.

Me still got 8kg to go. Was weighing only 50kg n now 58kg... juz can't take it when keep having aunties thinking tat i m still pregnant.

Shylyn
y not get the plain one? I saw the ikan billis too by moon rabbit brand... but hesitated to get... if not wrong, the box there got put 6months.. whereas the plain one said 4th month.

Actually it's good if bb can still drink bm/fm only till six months.. this research was only done recently after the clinical research was conducted for ppl with skin allegries. That's what my PD said.

But b4 I could seek PD's advice... my mommy already fed her /w brown rice boiled with water mixed /w fm to Xuanting... thank goodness, PD said Xuanting was doing fine when I brought her for checkup and injection.

PD herself got 3 children.. oso started ard 4months on cereals. So, she told me not to worry too much. Most important is to observe bb after introduction of new stuff. She oso shared tat during weaning, bb may not like brown rice paste n so will reject after 2~3 mouths. she told me is fine. Just try a couple of days later.. bb will slowly accept.

Interesting huh.

Koalarie
I'm still gg now..but v diff to schedule time cos working plus now w bb, more diff..trying to trim my flabby tummy..heheh

Re Hair Loss
I've started to drop hair liao but seems to be the same as pre-pregnancy, not like the big amt that my frens have told me about. they told me that will start to drop hair around 4th mth. I'm so scared!

Re Weight Loss
I got 1 more kg to go! i think i'm lucky the weight just disappeared on its own. i couldn't find the time to exercise at all but it's the stress of looking after bb and working at the same time, plus Bfg... BUT! i do find that my hips are bigger and of coz, still got that loose flabby tummy! So i can't wear any of my pre-pregnancy work pants! can wear but can't zip up :p

Gerber milk bags
Shylyn and miu66, thanks for introducing, I'll try the gerber milk bags after i finish up the avent ones!

Swimming
Any mommies started bringing their bbs to swimming yet? I want to take my boy to go swimming but read somewhere that it's best to start at 6 mths so that they will not develop fear of water... but Leo already loves the water leh. He always kick excitedly when he bathes in the bath tub.

Koalarie
Hmm..not too sure leh..my mil oredi bought b4 i know it..heheh..think will go back to read e tin..c whether 4mths old can take..else ask her to hold on loh..but Ivec oredi start showing interest when we r eating in front of him..& he will open his mouth if we put e food near to his mouth..hee

Weight Loss
Yeah..sad to say, my hips also expanded..luckily still can fit into my old pants/jeans but from my front view, can c tt it has expanded..:p

Fussiecat
No prob..even my hub also prefer e Gerber's milk bags, easier for him to open as he dun have fingernails to open e rest..heheh

RE: Swimming
I wanted to bring Ivec swimming as well..but dunno whether he's too young for the chorine water leh..plus i think he got sensitive skin (like me) so better hold on loh...he also likes water..always kicking happily during bath time

talking about swimming, i'm tempted to bring her go swimming also. by the way, can we go down to the baby pool with shorts and t-shirts? dun wish to wear swimming costume cos there's lot stretch marks on my thighs near the buttocks.

Hip expanded

i can fit into my old clothes, but can see the bulge here and there. skirt also very tight.
I m big size b4 so now dare not think abt it liao.

Weight Loss:
Me worst too...still have about 10kg to go...and got flabby tummy and big bum....
sad.gif

How to go back to pre-preggy weight?????...seems like impossible for me le.

irene
you can try those 2 piece tankini swimwear. the top is like a tank top, the bottom look like those boy shorts. like you, i oso got stretch marks - all around my waist! so i have to say good bye to all my bikinis liao and when i'm ready to take my boy go swimming, i will go buy either a one-piece or a tankini... you can go tannlines (wisma and paragon, i think) to see, they got really nice design
happy.gif
true they may be expensive, but what the hey, go treat yourself to a nice swimsuit! (or ask hubby to sponsor!)

wow this thread moves super fast!

mel lim - stroller
i go out almost everyday with my baby and pram (i have a Graco Metrolite travel system), and in the day i have to handle the pram and baby myself in a taxi, nights and w/ends are with hubby in our car. here are my thoughts on impt features:

Weight
Definitely get a reasonably lightweight stroller if you go around by yourself mostly. My pram weighs 6+ kg and i can manage it ok but now that the baby is bigger, i am looking at getting a lighter 'umbrella' type stroller. i considered the Graco Mosaic (it looks really good!!
happy.gif
) but was put off by the weight (it's abt the same wieght as mine but has fewer features - no cup holder for mommy, no snack tray for baby). most american/european strollers are on the heavier side (6-7kg and above, except the Maclarens) than the jap/local ones but they are definitely much much sturdier.

size when folded
how big is your car boot? my pram is prob average size and can't fit into the boots of hatchback cars (too long). i think the Peg Perego is abt the same length as mine when folded, the Mosaic is a bit shorter. For comparison, the Quinny Zapp fold down to a length of only 60cm!!

self-standing
another reason i didn't get the Graco Mosaic is that it folds to the floor. trust me, when you have a wriggly baby on one arm, the last thing you want to do is have to bend down to pick up your pram.

reclining seat
now that our babies aren't newborns anymore, it's ok to get a stroller that doesn't recline flat. personally, i think some adjustability is still good in case baby wants to sleep though. i was looking at the Quinny Zapp but my friend who has a 1yr old kid highlighted that it doesn't recline and even kids who can already walk still like to lie down sometimes.

adjustable handles
this is prob not so important but i find thsi feature useful on my pram cos i am short (1.62m) while my hb is tall (over 1.8m) so both of us can use it comfortably.

sorry fo rthe very long post, but i did a lot of research before buying my pram and am always looking out for a newer/cooler/nicer pram (!!!) so i'm always eager to share my thoughts!!
biggrin.gif
hope it helps!!

irene
i've been going down to the pool with a tank top over my bikini cos my hb says the top is too obscene without the tank top!!! i guess it's cos i'm still BF'ing. as fussiecat mentioned, those tankini 2-piece sets are quite nice and tannlines paragon is having a closing down sale.

we went swimming yesterday and luckily K was in a good mood and enjoyed her dip in the pool!! we even got her to hold her breath (for 1 sec only) and go underwater twice!!

miu66,
really love your girl girl, feel like pitching her everywhere.

Weight Loss:
Back to my normal weight lah. Can wear all my old clothes. Tbf and full time care for my bb & housework really help and slinging my 7kg dumbbell and climbing that stupid overhead bridge to the opposite shopping centre everyday.

miu66 - you are a life-saver! tks for the info. graco mosaic does look good right.

so in yr opinion, is there a pram out there that meet all these features? for me adjustables handles isnt necessary as my hb and i are abt the same height.

what's yr next buy?

nursing shawl
fyi. previously a few of us was discussing abt nursing shawl. managed to buy a nursing shawl at only $4.90 from TMC. Also saw a better quality at metro for 11.90. definitely much cheaper options that those $60+ from hooter hiders.

Miu66,

aiyo, your girl so cute! Still have 1 finger in the mouth. You didn't cut her hair huh. I now miss my girl's hair. Too bad, shave botak already.

maraquan
thanks!! i always feel like biting her!!
happy.gif

tracy
thanks!! we only trimmed her fringe cos it was getting in her eyes. my hb wants to cut a 'tail' for her at the back but i'm trying to stop him hahahha...
happy.gif

mel lim
you are most welcome!!
at the moment, i'm looking at the Maclaren Triumph. Looks light and compact but sturdy, and has a reclining seat. still eyeing the Quinny Zapp just because it looks cool
biggrin.gif
but it's ridiculous for me to get it cos it's the same weight as my Graco. check out the Maclaren range here http://www.maclarenbaby.com, i think they're all not bad depending on your needs. only thing is they don't have a front safety bar, so you can't clip on stroller activity toy bars and your child may climb out next time, but this is a relatively minor thing lah. my friend has an Aprica that is only 4kg, i find it a bit flimsy but she doesn't really take public transport or walk much so she likes it a lot. her child is just over 12mths and has used it from birth.

being the very excited (and kiasu) mother-to-be, i bought my Graco Metrolite from the US (much cheaper there) way back in Jan. at the time, i also really liked the Bugaboo and Quinny Buzz but they are very expensive and also very heavy (>9kg, not built for us smaller asians and our smaller cars!!). overall, i'm satisfied with my Graco, which has all the features i mentioned except that now i'm finding it a bit heavy cos my little bundle is over 8kg!! carrying her with 1 arm and trying to fold it is getting quite challenging. i found it very safe and comfortable when she was a newborn though, it was quite smooth even on rough pavements. must say that Graco makes good strollers
happy.gif

RE: weight loss
I still have 4kg more to lose. Ideally, 5kg. Cant fit into my old clothes. Feel so sad and miserable.

Miu, u gal so adorable leh. I dun dare to bring my boy for swimming till he's 6mths old althou he enjoys bathing since day 1 plus somemore now is the 7th mth, dun even dare to bring him go swimming. I myself dun even go swimming during this mth.

Jasminetea, tks for organising. I have juz transferred to you. Can only use PC when my boy has slpt.

hi daphne/smurfy

tks for the info..will check it out.haiz her face still red red..n her stomach still big big.ma chiam like got alot of wind inside..tinking of bringing her go bb tui-na n c if can make her fart more...

Think Im the worst here.. still got like 16 more kg to go... put on 25 kg in total during pregnancy.. want to exercise also cannot.. as my c-section wound still hurts sometimes even after after vaccuming the floor..

i dropped lots of hair too!! was seriously getting very worried, my hair was everywhere!!

finally got fed up and told hubby to take care of baby on saturday morning while i treated myself to a much-needed (haven't been to the hair salon since march!!) cut, colour and pedicure
wink.gif
. felt so much better after that and now there is visibly less hair around the house
happy.gif
.

my hair stylist said that my hair loss was mostly concentrated on the sides of my head but still not so bad, she said some of her other clients had really thin/balding patches when they went to her after giving birth!!

Mel_lim,

Nursing Shawl
Can post a picture of the nursing shawl which you've bought from TMC? Which Metro did you go and at which section? I've been using the sling so far for nursing.

Mel, Unfortunately Ergo carrier cannot put bb in cradle position.

Isaac is able to slp in "sitting" position so i'm ok with the idea.

Dropping hair - i also went to cut "thin" my hair but also useless. I'm so scare by the sight of the hair on my bed.

Miu66 - at least u can still wear bikini..... although i went back to my body frame..but my tummy is still there
sad.gif
so sad.........

now taking up Yoga, hopefully it will get rid some fabby from me.

about hair fall, i have hair fall before preggy and only stop hair fall when i was preggy.. but started again 4 months after delivery and this time kinda serious hair fall... patch and patch of hair just fall when i wash my hair, comb my hair and even on bed.. i try not to touch my hair during work to minimise hair fall. Heard from my friend to try Biolyn hair fall control shampoo. I just bought one last week, the sales girl told me it will take 3 to 6 months to see the results.. i was wondering, 3 to 6 months??? by the time i will become botak liao.. wahaha.. but i still give it a try lor.. honestly, dun like the smell.. the sales girl asked me to get the serum which is better for the scalp but i rejected cos i dun like the feeling of any gel or cream or watever on my scalp.. perhaps u gals can approach Biolyn to know more about the product..

lost weight.. sigh.. dunno can lose or not.. i managed to get back to my pre-preggy weight but my 3 months maternity leave brought me another 6kg.. been eating well, sleep well for 3 months.. keke.. my sis keep telling me i look like preggy again..
kao_cry.gif
so sad.. now transfered to other department, dun require me to walk around, even more jia-lat..whole day sitting in front of com.. gosh..

I'm using Maclaren Techno XT, it weighs ok but one thing cant stand alone and no stroller bar and parent tray. Used to have Graco travel system 3 wheeler but too heavy for me to move it around with Nix and decided to sell it away and get Maclaren... wanted to get Quinny Zapp but it cant recline fully.. last sat went taka and saw a little girl sleeping in Quinny Zapp, "folding" herself up in the stroller.. see liao also heart pain.. must be very uncomfortable..

maybe we shall arrange a pool party for our babies since so many babies here love water..
kao_laugh.gif

juz brought my bao bei for 4th month jab. e minute he saw the needles, make noise liao. hee! earlier still making so much noise, laughing and shouting. so funny!

Chenoa, can help me update bb's chart. 4th month - 68cm and 10.6kg. Thks

nursing shawl
Saw it at Metro Woodlands. I also saw it at the BB fair at Taka.

This is the one I bought from TMC. Cheap but the material not very good (rough rough) but still does the job. However, J doesnt really like to go under the shawl...he still prefer to hide under the sling as he is more used to that.
488215.jpg

miu66
We did check out MacClaren but found that when it is fully recline, can feel through to the metal bar so not sure if it will be uncomfortable for the BB. Did you notice that?

Mmmmm....seems like weight is really an impt feature.

Miu66
Ur gal definitely looked relax and enjoying in the float. Thinking of bring L to the pool too, wana consult u, what do i need to buy and where to get these swimming thingy??

Thanks a million.

Re: +ve Infant class at Babies & Cream
No one interested anymore? One Mar Mummy has one slot left, approached me, but i thot, i am more comfortable joining the Apr mummies. Anyone still keen? Understand tat both the Mar mummies & their darlings enjoyed great time and signed up for all the 8 sessions.

hello everyone,

have been busy with housechores n handling Ryan since my return from 'leave' wahaha long time didn't get to sleep for more than 8 hrs..now then i realise how shiok it is to have enough sleep n rest..haiz..beautiful days are always short lived.. haha

mel,
i'm using a peg perego P3 , i find it very useful n worth paying for..btw i'm relying on this stroller most of the time. i got it b4 i deliver..very kiasu!! where i go, Ryan follows n i dun like to use sling or carrier.. so ryan's always in the pram where ever i go..very convinent lor.. n peg is sturdy..i find it a gud investment. only setback is that it's on the heavier side lor..think 7-8kg bah..but heavy then sturdy mah.. also it can recline flat n is quite confortable as it's cushion is quite thick compared to many other brands.. 1 more very funny thing..the wheels have suspension!! really!! i was surprised when i was doing research on prams then..happen to read a post from 1 daddy mentioned the peg wheels have suspension..i was like huh?? but after using when Ryan was pop..it's true lor..so bb is actually very confortable in the pram as they wun feel the unevenness of the road..very impressed!!

tiffany,
me keen in the babies & cream thingy leh...any more april mummies there keen?? hope we can have enough no. to have a class for april mummies..

Mel, Rach
Same. I also using Peg Perego P3, bought b4 Lucas was born. Thumbs up! As Rach mentioned, the suspension is great. I love it coz its sturdy. I can hang Lucas bb haversack on it, and all the shopping bags, yet still very steady. Some light weight ones, tend to topple when u hang shopping bags. so consider this point.. haha, sounds like i am PP promoter. my coll who has 3 children, eldest being 9 yrs old and youngest 2 yrs old.. she is still using it for her youngest kid. Value for $ bah..

Rach - but i am only available for weekend class. went over to Mar thread, seemed like still have 2-3 slots left for the 4.15 class... prefer to have kakis fm Apr lei...

Tks Tiffany,

I interested but I am only available for weekend classes. I dun mind going for the trial class if they still have slots.

Jumbo,
Hee after see yr post, i better start using.

i had a sample of Biolyn hair serum (a small of bottle as sample)when i bought a bottle of bird nest fm Lao hang jia.

Will start now and see how it goes.
