the nurse at TMC told me that the gas will come out from anus if not by burping. cos sometimes burp too much bb will vomit more milk.

and so cute, wen bb fart, they will make that face, like trying to squeeze the air out... and sometimes looked a lil embarrassed..

ya ya...his body will be very tense and after the fart, can see his face looked relieved... sometimes he will also cry when he take too much effort to fart... must be BIG fart!

Yesterday night very funny, curious to know how 5 yr old Isaac will reply so I ask him this question..kekeke...

jolie - most of the mummies here got the bumbo thru BP (which I missed).

U can get bumbo at kiddy palace. U can try b4 u buy. I wast at Toa Payoh kiddy palace on sat and let J tried. But I have not seen it at wlands KP.

Describe myself ah...err...I was at the dining area most of the time. During the last part of the session my baby, Jayden, decides to make his presence known and I have to carry him and walk around the house to drink milk. Oh yah, was wearing turquoise top that day

u can oso get a 2nd hand bumbo seat instead. I got mine. Still quite new looking. BP one was selling $68... n I manage to get mine @ 60.

There was a mom who sells hers quite cheap as it was kept for quite a while... a pity I've place my order.. else I will get hers. =p

Better go let ur bb try first... think the seat dun last very long.. even my mom was wondering at the rate XT is growing... sooner or later she wont b able to fit into the seat.

bumbo - in addition to kiddy palace, it's available at most major dept stores (ie. taka, isetan etc), mothercare, mothers work, mums n babes and several other baby supply stores.

bb crying in the evening - sounds like your bb has colic. apparently, it'll go away by itself by 6mths latest, and could be due to many things - reflux, gas etc etc. i read that in addition to the usual gas remedies (like gripe water), you could try massaging your bb or analysing if anything you're eating is causing yr bb this discomfort (this applies only if you're BFing).

bb waking at night - poor thing, i sympathise with you, you must feel like you are going mad, cos this is what i felt during the 1st mth when bb was still waking several times a night. my bb only started sleeping long hours (>6hrs) 2 wks ago, before that she was still waking 1-2 times for feeds. think they just start sleeping longer when they are ready. like koalarie, my girl sometimes wakes cos i don't burp her properly and she gets a tummy ache, so now i make sure she burps before putting her down in her cot. cheer up, i'm sure your bb will sleep more soon!! after all, i'm sure s/he wants to have a good night's sleep too, right?

mine also farts and has small poos. i've also learnt to just wait till she's done, then change the diaper. think her system is getting more 'regular' cos i notice she tends to fart and do her big poos at roughly the same time everyday.

i've been trying to give my bb a pacifier for her 'in-between meals' sucking and also to see if it'll help with her daytime napping but she doesn't like it, just spits it out or makes gagging sounds

My bb fart very loud too.. haha! i always thot he is like my hb rough man. guess i'm wrong.

cin, dont worry is jus a phase mine face exactly the same prob as yrs when he was 3 mths. after awhile they will change their preference. I guess patient each time u intro new things to them. I'm trying to make him sit on his bouncer and still trying..

Jolie, Mui66 is very right... if you r b/f, avoid onions and galic they affect the bb. and give him gripe water each time he crys nonstop. u will be surprise he keeps quiet after that. OR sometimes he just want different pple to carry him to slp. pass him to the next available person or u can run around the hse carrying him. I realise that motion helps Isaac to slp.

Amy, yr Isaac is so cute.... and sweet lei. At least he kws he wont offend any of his parents hahaha smart boy.

how old is ur bb wehn she starts to have ore regular poos? my bb can dun poo for 2-3 days, except for the poo bits, then wen he finally poos, it was such a big and watery one...

hey if it is good for facial, can use for hair?? cos i got very dry curly hair.. no conditioner can help.. and go salon for treatment takes up too much time liao. wonder if BM can be used as conditioner???

i trying to train him in the stroller.. but everytime bring out he cry, then everyone turn over to look at us. esp wen both my hb n i look young, pple keep giving us the shotgun couple look.. haizz.. some can even ask us things like "ur parents never teach u ar??" so rude..

any experience that bb will start to dislike being in a sling as well?? my bb on auto rocker now.. (gave up trying to sleep train him) gd thing is he sleeps better now, and my hb n i got more time for ourselves, and to play maple (any moms play that game??)...
and my bb stil wakes up to feed at night leh? supposed to stop/reduce at this age already isit??

hb intro Ryan to pacifier..actually it saves me alot of embarassment..cos whenever i carry Ryan, he'll automatically zoom his head to 'the place' lor..so the pacifier help me from such obscence acts.. haha..no regrets to let him have the pacifier siar!! but R dun really knows how to suck the pacifier lor..have to hold for him for sometime then he'll suck on his own lor..

my boy sometimes does make sucking sounds when latched on..especially when i bf him when we're outside..so pai sey..
 
Update on NUK teats..

SUCCESSFUL!

i used the Farlin nipple hole puncher on the NUKs latex teats n feed my boy thrice 2day..he drinks faster n also finish up all the milk.. hooray!! problem solved!!

U are not alone. My darling oso hates sitting in stroller. Wants to be carried all the time. Can put her in stroller only when she's asleep. Dun even dare to bring her downstairs on my own using stroller.

Hanson also has poo bits in his diaper.
my maid will let him pass motion when he wakes up in the morning, before his bath. this actually helps to minimise the poo bits as he will usu finish with bowel movements. I used to see poo bits in every diaper change(about 3-4 hrs). Now, i can see clean diaper (no poo bits, only she she) about 2-3 times a day.

I rented the Ergo Baby Carrier last week. Cos my body is too short, got difficulty carrying bb even after adjusting to the shortest strap. Also, my back is breaking after putting kor kor inside for about half an hour. bo pian, lao liao. last time not like dat one leh, now no stamina liao. Guess the Ergo is not for me.

dont worry abt your boy, mine face exactly the same problem as yours when he was 3 mths plus. the slings he nvr likes it for long but willing to be in there when he doze off. other than that is a no no thing. i think coz' he finds it too hot inside. Stroller, only recently he is willing to sit and slp inside coz' he can see more things. SO i guess u have to be patient a bit.

Elle... thanks! i guess i will rent first before i commit to get one. if not it will be in the cupboard instead on him.

i think we shall have potluck on national day that period.. coz' is a holi.. holi..day! hahaha so happy finally a holiday for me!
 
Rach, thanks for the update. I think I better get the nipple hole puncher and try it out. My boy is on standard bottle and have been using the silicon teats.

RE: Stroller
My boy used to cry alot when put him on the stroller, but after awhile of walking, he's used to it and I think he quite enjoy it as I always tell him we bringing him go 'kai kai'.. I think he knows so - stoller equal to kai kai.. he can even fall asleep.

u let Lucas drink the frozen EBM b4? coz mine got many packets going to expire liao so i let J drink 1 pkt a day (sounds like drink milo hor) and he will know the diff b/t frozen and freshly pump one. when drink frozen he will be very unhappy and fussy.

I gave J pacifier yday and he took it like fish to water. suck and suck and suck...look so cute. when it drop out and we put it back to his mouth, b4 reach his mouth, he already move his head up wanting to grab it with his mouth!! but it still doesnt help him to sleep longer than 1/2 hr.....sigh....then no point giving him coz other than sleep very little, J is quite easy to care for.

I realized J suck loudly only when the position is not right. For J, he make loud gulping sound....gulp gulp gulp.

you can train yr BB to sleep longer instead of wake up at 3am but u will need yr hb to help. When BB wakes up or start to stir around 3am, get hb to pat pat him to sleep (hb becoz BB can smell u and wants to be fed, also if hb pat, you can rest, must share the work load mah). try it for 1-2 wks and you will notice that he will stretch his sleep for another 1-2 hrs. then all in all he will sleep 5-6 hrs and u can also rest more.

Dun think standard teats re recommended to be punched. It would b extra hole n not making the hole bigger le.

I got the hole puncher last time but apparently nuk (Standard) teat's hole is at the side; unlike NUK premium, Avert and Pigeon Premium teats.

So, I end up didn't punch becoz I scared later XT got choke as there would b two holes with the milk flowing out n she may drink more air instead.

Just my concern.

Actually i didn't punch another hole lor..i place the teat into the hole punch in the same place as the hole..(yar, NUK's teat holes r @ the side..) to enlarge the hole instead of punching another hole..
 
Daphne - me too, will be at home w/ my bb on most sundays unless decides to go out. Last week, brought my boy to Pasir Ris Farmway to see dogs and later to Changi Yatch Club. He enjoys the breeze so much. He had a great sleep during night time.

Woodlands mummies - maybe one of the days, we can arrange to meet up.
