since intro solids, how has your bb's stools freq changed? YY used to poo once or twice every day, but dunno why since last week she doesn't poo everyday. I'm still feeding the same food...never intro new food into her diet for the past 2 weeks leh, and somemore I cut back to semisolids for lunch only instead of two times cos me scared she constipation again. (Recently, she had a bad constipation.) Today she's now into 56hr no poo liao...

Guess it is quite common cos there were several times whereby Amanda did not poo for 5 straight days.. PD said it is normal.. but must take note if the poo is hard.. she is now back to normal, poo about 2 times a day now.. only let her have solid food once d day during lunch too.. but quite a big portion (5 scoops of HT cereal, with 50 ml of EBM and puree)

dun worry abt bb's constipation. Try giving her more water. Agree with hunniepot dat it's common nowadays eversince starting on solids. My gal too din poo the whole day on Fri until Sat 3/4pm since I started her on porridge on Thu. Scared myself ler.

Latest update on Reanne's weight.
She is 8.6kgs at 6mths (8kgs at 5mos). Thanks in advance for updating. Heehee, surprisingly she din cry when having her jab. Dr Koh said it's becoz bf babies are very secured. Which I tink its more likely due to her thick layer of fats dat's y she dun feel pain lah.:p He oso mentioned dat R is big sized when comparing wif her birth weight 2.6kgs and advises against her putting on too much weight. I personally feel her size is considered average nia. There are many Apr babies here who weigh even heavier than her.

It's only sometimes, after a feed, he gives a big burp and some of the milk comes up. his condition stabilise liao, no more fever, just coughing but can hear the phlegm.

thanks for organising the HT BP, i got my stuff from hunnie's place liao. can't wait to start him on the cereal and bb food!

no poo
the longest my son never poo is 3 days. i have read somewhere that it's normal but my hubby not convinced... grrr, i'm the one who does all the research and he still doesn't trust me :p

like u said, your pd mentioned that compared to her birth weight, she's big. it's not accurate to compare with other bbs cos everyone born with different birth weight. you should monitor her weight gain every month. if you see the chart,my boy is one of the heaviest in this group (he also has one of the highest birth weight) but every month during his check up, my pd will tell me his weight gain is normal, so i am relieved and assured that he's not obese or anything.

fussiecat, my hubby also think that it's unhealthy not to poo everyday. Since she born, his first question everyday he comes back from work is,"ûд?" he'll be elated everytime she poos. If she doen't...he'll keep reminding her, "컹ûд!" Hopefully, she'll produce the 'gold' today.

Hunni, 5 scoops = 5 tbsp? If so, even though it's only one meal a day, Amanda eats a hearty lunch leh.

Think it's normal for bb to not to poo, but tix may affect bb's appetitude. XT was like tat if she didn't poo for 2nd day.

Actually me also take big supper every alternative days leh...yesterday ate rice with braised duck and eggs and steamed vege (similar amt to my dinner) at midnight while watching Jacky Wu. The night before, I also ate 4 slices of bread with margarine and marmelade while watching the Korean comedy at midnight. hmmm....tends to get hungry at this time leh.....

Yes. I'm aware of the "solutions"....like barley water, apple juice, prune juice, papaya....etc. Banana...hmmm..there's come contradictions on the effects of banana. Have always thought bananas aid in constipation. I fed her banana when she was constipated the last time, didn't really help. Then I read that bananas tends to cause constipation and bad wind in stomach. Errr....dunno lah....... there's now two different sayings and I dunno which is more true. Appetite wise, don't see any problem with her but I din feed her any cereal today just some papaya to aid her bowels for dinner...and she did seem hungry for her semi-solids (sorry YY, u cannot take cereal for a while hor....).

how long more did YY not poo? Still eating, right? The little one is still quite active n drinking water?

My mom oso did say on the bananas too.. but we didn't give everytime.. n once a few days.

Ahhh... muz b really frustrating to see little one dun poo n dun eat well. I was like tat if it's me. If she still eats well or drinks lots of water, it is fine with me.. but if she gets frustrated during her feeds, I will just feel so helpless. Haiz.

You can go to the medical hall to buy "niu nai liang". It works for my boy.

1 packet brewed into a small bowl, its bitter sweet, if it too bitter, dilute with warm water.

No harm trying.

Dont worry too much... believe that it is normal .. cos as mentioned earlier, Amanda did not poo for 5 days straight once.. brought her to see pd and pd said it is normal at this stage... some babies dont poo even up till 1 week... it shld be ok as long as the poo is not hard

okie, this herb drink is supposed to remove all the heatiness inside bb stomach, therefore, the poo poo will be very smelly after that.

Need advice

Currently, my boi is eating the heinz rice cereal, abt 5 heap teaspoon 1x every day in between the milk meals.

E.g

If let say, after the 0800hrs milk feed, after 2hrs, i will gave the cereal. So, after 3hrs, he would want to dinnk again.

So how am i suppose to gave 2x of cereal per day.

And when can i introduce him brown rice first or porridge first?
