I use only Goodaire. And their essence also. The rest all like 'diluted'...ine only needs a few drops into every container of water.

Dun buy the one from promoters and Taiwan.

As a matter of fact, I just bought 2 units during the last Isetan sales because they printed the wrong price and have to sell at that price. Heard that they changed the price the next day. Somemore that day got additional 10% plus one bottle free. Price is S$70.40 before less.

Gee, I cant remember whats the brand of my air purifier.. mine is the one with green cover.. bought it form Toa Payoh Hub.. (actually didnt know that it can be used for purifying air.. thought that it is to dedorise the place only)..

Hunni, my sis also got that cheap greenleafshape top cover one. Is this a purifier? *roll eyes* But see pple use in air-con places only. Effective in non-aircon condition? Water will turn black if it's working har?

I remembered someone mentioning abt the water turning dark when the surrounding air is dirty and yup...the water in my dining room is different from the one in the bedroom lei.

Anyway, I felt that it works for me. As for placing in air-con rooms, we dun switch it on when we are not in the bedroom. But the unit in the dining room is running most part of the day.

Yeah.. thats what the green leaf cover thingie shld be doing.. am using it for now.. and I do feel a difference in the quality of the air in my room.. cos used it in my living room previously, perhaps the area is bigger so didnt feel much of a diff...
 
thanks everyone! think i'm only frustrated there and then.. sort of decided that since my MIL is the main caregiver, i've to be appreciative and work things out together.. cuz their style is definitely different from ours.. but so long our precious is well and happy.. i can't ask for my MIL to do everything my style.. can only do wat i can during weekend and when i'm back from work..

Gastric flu is spreading very fast in singapore. Because of that, we are called for an urgent meeting in the school early friday morning. Personal hygiene is important. And do take note of symptoms such as vomitting and diarrhoea. It is not simple food poisoning. Just need a small droplet of saliva to spread the disease.

I'm using the green leaf purifier too. It does make a diff when u use it in small area like the bedroom. I think if the haze goes on, I might buy another one.

update for me too. Enya - 6mth, 7.05kg

Just went to pd this morning. He gave me lots of samples of the Nestle cereal for my girl to try. Started Enya on her 1st solid this afternoon. Not sure she like it or not. But I think she doesn't know how to swallow. I guess I just have to be patient.

Never mention about prevention. Only stated that personal hygiene important. Sneeze when hands covering nose and mouth, etc etc.

Sigh! Didn't know it is so serious. I told colleague when such things happen, i am most worried about my ger, not us adults!

Talking about samples, my PD forgot to give us during our last visit there.. heehee.. must get from him next visit.

Today is really very bad, can hear my bb cough afew time and keep rubbing his eyes. Me too keep blinking my eyes coz eally feel rather dry. What should we do to keep bb more comfortable huh? I try to close all my door and windows, leaving on 2 panel open but once step outside, i almost faint liao.

Gastic flu
Didn't know this can spread. Have to inform my mum to be more careful when handling bb liao. KK thanks for sharing.

Solid Food
I started JJ on plain cereal 3 wks ago and now HT brown rice but there's a problem. He dun like his cereal to be thick and prefer it to be more watery. Heard that bb must learn to take thicker texture but he dun seem to like it leh.... how? I worry that if i dun give than he will forever take watery cereal and next time how to intro porridge?

you slowly thicken the consistency. My gal likes thick thick cereal. She has been eating her cereal this way after 2 initial weeks of intro and trial and error. She doen't like anything too watery although she still finish them, with the exception of plain water. I like to feed her thick cereals too cos less messy, I can don't use a bib as everything goes neatly into her mouth and she swallows very fast.

I have changed Amanda's similac FM to stage 2, for stand by, opened it once and she still refused to drink FM.. going to throw it away soon
 
Hunniepot, I also intro similac fm stage 2 and she doesn't seem to like it. She takes stage 1 very well. Now gotta ask my mum to monitor and slowly mix with stage 1 till she gets used to it. wonder if it's the taste or wat
 
aiya Tracy, i just gave away!!! u could ask from PD wor.. mine is straight from the silimac HQ. they send me a bear and the 400g similac.

I've started Friso 2nd stage alr.. coz' then i wanted to give isaac similac, but then change of mind.

the similac lady taught me was gradually change.. dt change it suddenly. Hunniepot, u got to mix the FM with yr BF or yr current FM. they will gradually accept it.

for those having stage 1 also must mix hor... cannot change switch over, bb cannot get use to it.

The weather was very bad by Friday itself. Almost zero visibilities to the ships where I was working.

Then everywhere I can smell burning woods.

So the whole weekends, we tried to keep XT indoors n on aircon n didn't open the windows in kitchen n living room as well.

The air was so dry and dusty that I could feel my skin like cracking.

Last time I'd tix experience was when I was in Seoul. It was so dusty and dry outside. Thank goodness the service apartment that I stayed has a humifier in the bedroom and so don't feel the air so dry.

I am trying out the Promil Gold Stage 2 by Wyeth.

N ve been mixing the milk powder with the Similar Infant since last Thursday. My gal is taking it quite okay.

Ur words are relief to me. I have stocked up Wyeth Stage 2 for my girl since NTUC got offer last week. I bought 2 tins. My ger on wyeth stage 1 now. Hope she likes it!!

There is actually a pamphlet by wyeth that say how to transit from stage 1 to stage 2. Got to mix definitely, and the transition takes 2 weeks. There is a chart in the pamphlet that explains all that. Wonder whether u all have that? I happen to pick one up at the clinic when my ger down with cough last mth and i brought her see the GP.

I find Promil gold the milk very milky smell.. as I dun really like milk smell n so got to hold my breathe when i fed her... =p

And yes, got to mix if different brands. But i got mommies who told me if it's same brand, is fine le. Got a mommy gave her bb friso all along n another mommy gave her bb nan. So, tot if similac transition is fine. Juz tat it contains more iron n nuitrions stuff as bb starts to learn to crawl n walk n thus need more of these n therefore got to go to stage 2 milk powder.

Yeah I tbf, but I opened the tin for my mum to mix it with cereal when I was out of the house.. didnt express out.. and that 1 time cereal feeding costs me $15+! Cos she didnt drink from the bottle again, as she simply refuses to..

The people from abbott called me when Amanda was almost 6 mths old.. and asked me if I need any follow-on fm.. she told me that the taste and everything is the same for the infant and the stage 2 FM, just that the stage 2 fm has more iron content thats all..
 
Transitting from BM to FM
Ladies, if transitting from BM to FM, need to mix BM and FM as well?

Kinda worried as going for 5 days biz trip soon and frozen EBM might not be enough to last for 5 days. So need to give some FM.

heard from my ger friend that stage 1 FM actually has more nutrients than stage 2, thus more expensive. Stage 2 FM are actually cheaper. So she still continue to give stage 1 FM even tho her bb 8 months alrdy ley...any comments?

I haven't started my bb on stage 2 except for the night feeds. I put him on Mamil Night because my friend told me that it could last the bb throughout the night. I tried with 2 scoops first initially. Then last night I tried putting him on full MN and it really lasted him throughout last night..heheh.. cos I lazy to wake up to feed him...

Agree it was really bad on saturday. I tried not to bring him out but I brought him to studio for photo taking (free one). Don't really like the services there, will look for another one.

Stage 2 FM

Heeheee... Becoz Similac FM causes XT to constipate.. but not really constipate.. juz that she has to use more force to pass her motions???? But since we mix with brown rice cereals, it helps a fair bit.

Then, my hb's colleague shared /w us then that he tried many infant fms b4 finding the right one to suit the bb.

Then it's like, we ve been giving XT for more than 3 months plus n a bit of troublesome to go thru that round again.

So, take tix opportunity to change.

We also wanting to try Friso Gold 2 as it has 1.8kg n my friend may b able to get those "near-to-expiry" one frm her coy... n so may be cheaper.. but on second thoughts, think stick to promil unless XT can't take it these two weeks.

I am using Novita humidifier. I think its gd, it wont dry up my skin, keeping it hydrate. Another advantage... it has "cured" my sinus prob!

My ger now wyeth stage 1. Before that when she was newborn, it was enfalac A+. But seems like enfalac got some problems like causing phlegm, etc (actually dunno phlegm related to newborn or milk powder) and also price concerns, we switch to wyeth. And good comments from SIL because all my nieces and nephew on wyeth when they were small.

i oso using Novita humidifier. one of my best purchases. both my hubby and me got sensitive nose. if we forget to use it for one night, we can tell the difference! the nose will be stuck and will have runny nose in the morning :p

while it humidifies the air, i don't think it purifies the air. i can't find the manual anymore so can't be sure. you still have the manual?
