hunniepot, me is bathtub - anyway, we did anticipate to put him in sink and bath just like amy. but my maid and i look left look right the sink and decided not to coz' isaac too active and he wont be such an angel like amy's darling to be in there for us to bath haha

amy seems like isaac and Brendon age gap quite big har? i'm thinking of having the 2nd one abt 5 years later. but partly scare i'm too old for that the other is worry that i have to go thru the same "trauma" as i had the 1st few mths.
 
Hey gals, my girl these few nights like keep waking up after an hr in bed for the nite. ARghh..dunno wat's wrong..wanna rock n nurse at times to get back to sleep. Recently her cries also changed, she scream with some loud high pitch voice and like cat cry like that when she dun get wat she wants like picking her up and make funny faces. It's very alarming when she usually dun do such thing. Is she finding her voice or teething? any such experiences?
 
Mom_yam, yup...5 years gap. Because Hubby was in States for 3 years, so we only decide for the second one when he's due back. So essentially, Brendon 'originated' from Florida when we had our vacation there during the last year. kekeke...

So far, Isaac has been an angel. Playing w his younger brother, rocking the cradle when we were not in time to reach Brendon when he stirs. He even tried to help feed Brendon when he saw us struggling to get his naughty brother to take the bottle of EBM.

Yup...if you see me, you will realise I also quite old..kekeke...

Hunnie, the sink was our last resort because one of the hotels we stayed, did not have a bathtub...try the bathtub where possible.

Babe, sometimes, it's due to the activities they have during the day, and before they go into 'serious' sleep, this will happen. Try baroque music in the background just when you are preparing her to bed. Switch it off an hour after she has stated sleeping...

You can enter your basin bath time photo to some baby photo contest lah. I was drinking some water when I saw the picture. Lucky my laptop did not kanna any water lah, but I got chock seriously.
 
Amy, you really make me laugh from the way u descripe yr situation and i really envy u for having two little angles who is so wonderful in yr lift. u r right yr Isaac is very good and sensative boy. Thumbs up for u!!!


Babe - when bb plays too wildful during the day they will have nightmare. so try not to play too wildful before slp.

i do agree with Amy, try to put some nice smoothing music while yr little one slps. or it could be tummy uncomfy. give yr bb eat one teaspoon of gripewater that will help to calm the bb down.
 
hunniepot - was in KL last mth; no bathtub and sink was too small. In the end I showered together with J by carrying him in 1 hand and soaping him using the other. We had so much fun singing "Raindrops keep falling on my head". Too bad can't take pix coz me not wearing clothes.

For the class today hmm.. i would say is better than the 1st class that we went. but then i agree with Smurfy maybe the class will fully benefit for bb that is 8 - 9 mths & above.

I've took some photos shots tmr will put up, my hb is a lousy photo taker hiazzzz most photo fm him turns blur blur *shake head*

ET, i see Keith has a great improvment har.. he is no longer so fearful as compare the 1st two lessons. *wink*

Hi Irene,

I got the haenim play yard and bumper mat. U need 6 panels (1.5 sets) of the play yard to fit nicely into the bumper mat.

I haven't use the play yard though 'cos my girl still dunno how to move around and now she needs to see people. If use the play yard to block her view, she will cry. So will start using it when she know how to move about and play with the toys on the play yard

Last time when my son doesn't nap well, I would put him in the sling and he can sleep for 1-2 hours. Tiring on the back but at least you can sit down and do your stuff/ lean back and rest. I still use the sling to get him to nap when I am outside (try to coincide with meals

). Are you using one? If yes, you can try letting her sleep in it. if you are not using, it might be hard to do so now as she's bigger and will resist.

Are you breastfeeding? you can try nursing your gal to sleep on the bed. I do that now for my son for his naps at home. it's better than sitting up and nurse as there's no transition from arm to bed. Alternatively you can consider yao lan, as there's also no transition from arm to bed.

think your camera did not set flash and the shutter is slow. don't blame your hubby's skills lah...

I think these high resolution need good lighting and fast shutter speed(if your camera has).

like my camera, if take indoor(at home) the lighting not enough so I can only choose to take at lower resolution, if set at higher res, the picture will be very blur. Always. My camera's shutter speed is so slow, as compared to my hubby's. Can't use his cos he needs it for work, and carries with him everyday. But his camera also got its deficiency lah.....although shutter is faster, needs super steady hands cos it's those ultra-slim design, even press down the button will trigger shake and also difficult to get sharp picture.

Low res means my gal's photos looks ok on screen but if send to lab for printing on 4R, may turn out not sharp.

thanks for all the info on introducing solids. i forgot to ask PD last week during his 5th mth checkup, and PD oso never say anything. Since Leo is in 95th percentile, i decided to start him on solids at 6mths instead of now. am a little overwhelmed by it all but hopefully it will be an enjoyable experience for both LEo and me!

1st overseas trip
we took Leo to msia to see attend my fren's wedding dinner and also to see his great grandfather for 1st time. as predicted, he hated the car seat. he can only sit inside for ard 15mins at a time, then he will scream his head off and we have to carry, then we put him back in carseat and the screaming start again. it was like this all the way from causeway to my grandfather's house (abt 3hrs drive) nightmare!! come back to singapore, worse cos got jam at causeway. ugh!

I'm seriously thking of investing the Sony one.. *slurp slurp* but then again will be me taking the photos again. See what i can capture isaac mumming..

i did ask PD last week when i bring K for 5th mth jab. She discourage me to introduce cereals as cereals is more starchy and can put on weight easily. My boy is @ 95 percentile too and she want him to go on diet next mth if the weight shoot up too much again.

i had started to give him cereal today 1 teaspoon daily tat is to prep him to start solids and also cut down his milk to 150ml.
 
constipation aft intro solid
J has been having constipation ever since I intro solid (HT, bottled pea, bottled green bean, homemade potato, carrot & spinach puree).

Have stopped him on HT but continue with vege puree only. Yet he constipated for past 4 days.

Today finally poo poo and his poo is DARK GREEN in color. Same as the spinach puree he ate yesterday.

Now I wondering is it his stomach not digesting the solid well and if I should continue.

Any BB have similiar cases of constipation?

do you feed a lot? Once they take cereals or purees, they need to take more water. Reduce the qty for a few days and see if his stools are more stable. And if you are feeding 2 or more meals of semi-solids, try 1 meal of fibres (vege and fruits) and 1 meal of carbo (cereals, potato, sweet potato). I read that can feed prune juice / white grape juice to relieve constipation. Always dilute juice with water 50/50.


My gal had constipation once, for 3 days, her stool was a 5c/10c size flattened paste. I din know she was having constipation, thought her stool's undergoing change....then on the 4th day, she pulled a really big one, greenish-black in colour, oozing out like a snake. Thought that's it, but no....1 hr later, she had another go, this time...orange custard....that's when I know that the greenish one is her constipated sai and the orange one is the fresh one. hahaha But, you are right, the colour of the stool is influenced by the food consumed. If yellow food, then more yellow/orange; greens will be greenish.

mom_yam, you interested in the Sony T10 issit? This time, Sony has a great product. It's super leh! Very fast shutter speed and very steady (cos got anti-shock) and very high res. 7 mega pix. Take video more 90min, and during shooting can zoom in and out somemore....Viwing on the camera can select slideshow, and they do it up like some fashion ad. with music and camera zoom-in/out. Very interesting! Picture quality really good but my only complain is that colour not as vibrant as Canon / Minolta. I like the feel of it in my hands, feels just like a camera...not too big not too small/slim. Waiting for my hubby to give me one...

I noticed Lucas is constipated too. Pooing every 2 days. Sai dark greenish paste. I gave only 1 tbspoon of HT cereal with EBM once a day nia and giving water on and off too. I didnt give any veg yet and Lucas poo alrdy dark greenish colour lei....


Chenoa (Gourmet Master), seek ur advise hor. I am preparing to intro solid soon, is it necessary to get a blender and which is worth considering? this mommy here cant cook, so dont know wat to prepare. Chenoa, can u pls enlighten? giam sia in advance

This is what i feeding J:
1. HT - 1 1/2 scoup worth of cereal (formula scoup) with 40-60ml EBM
2. Bottled pea/green bean - 1/2 small bottle
3. home made puree (all diluted with EBM)
- 1/2 small potato + thumb size of carrot
- spinach abt 2 tablespoon aft puree
- papaya abt 2 tablespoon aft puree

Is it alot?

He doesn't drink water, maybe that's why.

You are so accurate in describing the poo. TOday his poo is back to BF poo liao. What a relief for me.

Hmmm... Strangely not for Xuanting when she was on total brown rice cereals. But I did notice she seems to be going 2b constipated if by noon she don't poo. This happens if we intro a bit more of the white rice cereals such as Frisocream.

So, my mom n I will make a bit of barley for her to drink n by evening she'll poo. =p

Different bb different. But I did read up article that brown rice cereals is super good for preventing constipation n since Xuanting started constipation when she was on total Similac FM n my mom intro brown rice cereals, she has been pooing every day by noon. =p

Xuanting also ve similar prob. She slept halfway in then nites &amp; then suddenly wails. I guess she plays too much in daytime. But nowadays, for certain reasons, she seems to be very easily being amused. Even playing games like covering your face and then open up, she will laugh as if she really enjoys a lot. Even making funny faces, she also laughs.

I got photo of her snap over the weekend and she laugh till really cute... show u all 2morrow. =p
 
tiffany - i used to do w/o a blender and using fork to puree but the food still chor chor so i worry J can't swallow.

In the end i bought a cheap Philips blended for 39.90. No regrets coz the food turn out to be much finer.
