Re: Exersaucer
I've let my girl tried on both the Safety 1st and LeapFrog exersaucers. I think as of now she prefers the Safety 1st one becos the seat is smaller and hence she can fit in comfortably. She tends to fall infront when she's in the LF. Toys wise, Safety 1st has more variety while LF's toys are more interesting. my 2 cents worth la. I've posted the pics on May's thread..can go there see see

Re: Milk intake
Ariel is drinking 180ml every 3.5hourly now. She seems to be able to 'tong' til 5 hours sometimes! Scary..

Re: Cereal
I intend to let my girl have her 1st taste of cereal at 4.5mths..which is in 1 weeks time. But ar, i'm still blur on the preparation part. Do we just add 1 teaspoon of cereal into her milk (180ml)? Pardon me if this topic has been brought up many times.. :p

K's head still wobbles a bit when we sit her up even though it's v steady when she's on her tummy. i notice it's wobbly when she's a bit tired, cos otherwise she likes to turn here and there to look at everything!!

Dun worry.. my ger also can't flip yet. She is almost there... these few days she seem to learn the trick.. turn her head and bring her legs up and buttock over. But still need a little more effort heehee..

How many times are you giving the healthy times cereal to your boy? I started Amanda on the brown rice cereal since last wednesday, about 1 scoop of cereal (milk powder scoop) with EBM, once a day and she loves it too! Not too sure when to increase the quantity?

Do your babies shake for no reason sometimes? Realised that Amanda started shivering / trembling for a while several times already..

In answer to your qns regarding the inverted nipple, it looks like there is indent in the middle of the nipple..

As for the ergo carrier, I just tried carrying my 5 months old girl using the hip position.. and find it more comfortable than the front facing position
 
Denise thanks, will look at her nipples tonight. tat day i saw one side like tat.

guess i will borrow the ergo and see if she likes it. at last hip position, she will be able to see in front.

my boy does shivering/trembling for 1-2s and tat is bcos he is peeing. he has been doing this since born. When we use cloth nappy we test and really he is peeing

Jab
my boy has jab on last Sat 2nd dose 5in1, rota and 1st doze pneu. luckily he dun hv fever but his body is very warm and as if like getting fever soon. I hv to wipe his body few times to bring the temp down and keep feeding barely water.
He also seem to hv flu and cough as his breathing is louder and i heard few coughs. Therefore my whole weekend is in alert mode.

Started my gal on cereal juz now. Dunno izit she still not ready for dat or wat. She gave a "Yucky" expression after eating a few spoonfuls.

Re: Storage of Healthy Times Cereals
Do u all transfer the cereals to a container or juz leave them in the paper box? My box juz got wet when I put it on the table whereas there is water.

Re: BB shaking head
It was on dat Sunday nite when we returned from Taipei dat my gal oso kept shaking her head not once but many times. My mum dismissed it as she was peeing lor. But my hubby was concerned with dat n nearly wanted to bring her to the pd. Luckily, it was an one-time off incident n has not recur since then.

I notice dat many of u took the 5 in 1 jabs rather than the 6 in 1. Any reasons y u chose dat other than the price factor? Tot 6 in 1 is better.

Also for dose taking the 6 in 1 jabs package, izit only the 1st n 3rd jabs will b 6 in 1 n the 2nd one is 5 in 1 huh? This is wat my PD told me when my gal went for her 2nd jab dat time.

My girl also shakes her head from left to right quite violently... when they r sleepy or about to sleep... PD mentioned that it is normal as their brains are still developing..

I took the 5-in-1 jab for the 1st 2 times and subsequently, the 6-in-1 for her 5th month jab... guess it is no difference between 5-in-1 and 6-in-1? Just that baby does not need to suffer another jab...

Oh, my mil just fed her the brown rice + si shen today. She had her 2 servings already! She love it. The trick is.. babies normally dun like to take it because it is tasteless, taste very much like flour in water because everything grounded into powder form. So my mum say can put a bit of sweetened milk into every serving and babies would love to drink it. Can buy Dutch Lady sweetened milk which is low fat. Cost $1.40 at ntuc.

Initially made it watery first, when bb start to take solid food, then feed less watery one.

Last nite i bought Heinz apple juice specially for babies. My bb made that kind of funny face at me haha. .and dun wanna drink.. think it is sour for her :p

i intend to buy eu yan sang brown rice but my friend told me the HIP brand is better and seling at Tanglin Mall. I guess i will pop in there this wk and check it out.

Today the infantcare ask me when i woild like to start his cereal so they will buy the right age type. Now u remind me tat later i go to ask them what brand they normally use

KK, i'm now currently giving my son eu yan sang brown rice. I mixed it together with his milk powder so got taste and good for him. In fact, i'm moving on to brown rice porridge very soon.
 
KK, Heinz apple juice shouldnt be sour.. only their puree is pretty sour. Heinz apple juice actually pretty sweet.. i add in more water to diltue it further :p
only the pear juice my son rejects it totally, thk he doesnt like pear like his mama dont like pear either hee..

just read yr thread is no good to put sweetened milk at this age. thk their own milk powder is actually pretty sweet, u can add some into the brown rice instead. that will actually make them eat.

Anyone letting baby take frisocreme rice based milk cereal? I have 1 tin opened 2-3 weeks ago.. itchy hands just wanted to let my girl try for fun.. but think sayang to throw away.. can pass it to any of u ladies here if interested?

Koalarie, no need to bring to PD. Is normal, coz' they became small eater.. my sis says is due to my habit of eating when i was preggie. Dunno how true.

Hand - YES! now he starts to dig until make the "YAK" sound. no choice i keep giving him pacifier now.

hunniepot, u can no need to give away. u can use the cream put a little bit into the B/M at night for her. So she can "fuller" and can slp well at night. but is up to you whether u wan to do it..that's what i give Isaac coz' he start to wake up now for milk. thk now he starts to grow older..need more food.

evon, my girl also like to put her fingers in her mouth.. sometimes her feet also.. gosh... and everything else she grabs...

My boy also shakes his head rather vigourously fm left to right. Alamak.. my MIL thot the back of his head itchy, help him to scatch.. hahaha
whenever he pees, he will give a very light shake also.. yes, this is due to peeing.

Hehe.. no need to make my girl fuller so she can sleep long at night.. she has been sleeping all the way from 11 plus pm to 9 plus am for a few mths liao

. i like it because it's got nothing added, not keen to give frisocreme or nestle cos it's got sugar/flavourings. she's also been sucking the juices of all sorts of fresh fruits that we eat (watermelon, mango, rambutan etc) and she's very enthusiastic abt that!! planning to try healthy times brown rice cereal and pureed veges next month.

my baby also like to put her fist into her mouth until she make dat puking sound. everytime i use d pacifier on her, she will remove it n tries to put it back into her mouth again. i read somewhere that d baby does this as she is learning hand n eye coordination at this age.
 
KL Trip
Back from a weekend trip with J and my mum. So tiring!!! Thought it is easy to travel with a BB but guess i am oh so wrong. J prefer to be carried and thus I do more carrying than my mum. Now shoulder pain pain.

Irregular feeding
J seems to be feeding irregularly nowadays. On some days he want to nurse frequently. On other days he got magic stomach that can tahan 4-5 hrs.

Any mum here feed baby on 4-5 hrs interval?

As J does not cry when he is hungry (unless really really hungry) so hard to guess if he is hungry or not.

waking up at night
For the past 1 mth J has been waking up every 2-3 hrs. Also dunno why. Gone are the days of uninterrupted sleep for me. hunniepot, i am so envious of you. i am soooooo sleep-deprived now.

when your baby starts to demand more feeds, or cannot sleep through when he used to, then it's time to start weaning. Have you intro rice cereal yet? Think your baby is ready for it.

shouldn't let baby take watermelon juice cos watermelon got many pores and so got more wind.

Although babies nauturally takes to sweet foods, it's not recommended to add sweetened milk / condensed milk or any other forms of added sugar into the cereal. They are used to BM or their usual FM, so you can add these for a familiar taste. If you want it sweet, can add natural ingredients like apple/pear juice or puree but not sweetened/condensed milk.


RE: Putting fingers / fist into mouth
PD refers to this stage as MOUTHING. Doesn't imply that they are hungry, although sometimes they are. Most of the times, they just like to put things into their mouth. May/may not be teething.
