Well, it's a good thing you're not staying with ur MIL esp when she's such a difficult person. As for the maid issue, your hb have to talk to her. Who takes better care of your kids - your MIL or your maid? Otherwise, like u said earlier, it might be best to send them to CC and get a part-timer to do the housework if your MIL really cant get along with the maid.
My sis lives with her ILs and they are very difficult pple to live with. She has, to date, changed no less than 8 maids in a short 4 years because the ILs keep complaining about the maid or the maid asked for transfer cuz they cant get along with the ILs. IMO, its gotta do with their mentality. Some people just don't respect the maid as another family member or their equal living in the house. Older folks normally have this problem cuz in the past, maids are like "slaves" or "servants". If your MIL is having that problem, it could be alittle difficult to change her perception.
