I think queen's suggestion of getting your maid to bring him to school would be a better option if the bus driver doesn't work out. Once you've travelled the route via bus with JH, you would be able to gauge how long the journey to the school is. Once she gets home, have her call you to "report" that she's home so that you can monitor that she's been home within the designated time and have no other chances to go elsewhere when out. At least you know that she has a genuine heart towards JH and it also save you and hb less quarrels over transportation.

Think of it as the lesser of the 2 evils bah if you still prefer JH to go to school yet the transport company is such a headache. Now that you're pregnant, should look on the brighter side of things =)

my gal also used to touch my nipples and said 'neh neh'. she would wanna suckle and kiss and making the sucking sound (she stopped latching on when she's abt 13mth+) What i did was telling her that, 'yes, that's mummy's nipples. See, you also have.' She did that for about 2 mths. After that, she stopped. Probably, she sees that it's not fun to 'make fun' of mummy's nipples 'cos I don't get angry or disallow her from doing that, but only correct her from using the word 'neh-neh' to nipples. 'cos my main purpose is to let her know that it's part of our body and everyone has nipples.
but, partly it's because she's a gal, I allow her to do so. Not sure how i would react when my boy did that to me.

it also depends on what your priority is.
If you think that if your 1st priority now is to let JH go to school, from what I see, the only solution is depending on your maid to send JH to/fro school.
And, if your priority is make sure that the maid is behaving well and not giving you trouble, then, i think you need to find other solution to solve JH's schooling issue since the maid can't transport him to school.

Actually, if your maid has the responsibility of fetching to and from school, I'm sure she will not try anything funny in-between lah. The way I see it, when JH is at school, your maid can also go out right? Do you have any way of monitoring her when JH is at school? It doesn't matter whether JH takes the school bus or she fetches him cos if she really wants to do anything funny, she can cos no one's home to monitor her what. Anyway, since the maid is not new to you, you'll can probably judge whether she's reliable?
Isaac will still want to touch my nipples even when I tell him cannot, but I will just quickly turn or walk away and put on my clothes. He'll also touch my HB's nipples sometimes (hahah, poor HB, he's thoroughly 'molested' by Isaac) but he's just being playful lah. My HB is topless most of the time at home and it's not like he wants to touch my HB's nipples whenever he sees them.

Queen, Kirsten’s ASD is 3mm wide. Yes, it’s smaller than when first detected at 3 months. Her next checkup is 2 years later. From her last 2 checkups, the hole size didn’t change, but the cardiologist also reassured me that her heart has also grown bigger so the size is actually proportionally smaller. At least, Isaac’s ASD didn’t grow at the same rate as the heart, so don’t worry too much. Every time I bring K for the ECG, got to make sure I have some tricks up my sleeve to keep her still, so I can understand what you mean. Keeping them very still and relaxed for only a few min to take the ECG seems like hours to them.

Tracy, I’ve been ordering lunch tingkat. If you are not a fussy eater, can try http://www.houseofcatering.com/tingkat.htm. But their soup is not very good, so can order 4 dishes instead of 3 dishes + 1 soup. The food is MSG-free and low salt so I sometimes feed Kirsten their food too.

Ya super jam on TPE this morning and was both side of the expressway somemore, so maybe that's why the school bus driver has no other option. Actually why don't you tell your hb if on MC, then JH skip class for that day? cos will not be on MC so regularly right?

Really very tired for the past few days. Jamie had got high fever for already 3 days. First day was between 38.6-38.8 deg. But last night it shoot up to 40.5 and hb and me rushed her to KKH. She was under observation for 3 hrs. Cos when we reach there, she is already 41.7deg. I almost cried when they told me the temp. All we could do is kept sponging. She is finally given a permission to go home after the temp went down to 38. Took half day today to rest as I was not sleeping well last night. Today was still the same, fever going up and down. Went to my childhood GP and was given suppository. Now she is back to normal. Her next dose of medicine is 1230 so I will catch some sleep after that.

One thing I am proud of Jamie is, the nurse seems unable to "catch" her urine with the urine bag stick to Jamie's vagina. Jamie seems to understand that we need to collect her urine. She told me "Mummy, Yao She She.." I rushed her to toilet with a small container and was glad that she urined inside. Else we will even stay there longer. She did not even fuss when the doc listen to her heartbeat and take temp.

Lab test results shows some red blood cells in her urine. They suspected minor urinary tract infection. So got to go back next fri for a check again. Poor girl, my heart aches when I see her like that. Really hope that I am the one who is sick rather than her. Pray that she will be fine.

Perhaps u can explain to JH abt nipple and let him know that he cannot touch other pple's. Jamie bathe with me sometimes and she will point or touch. I told her in a serious tone. "Mummy have this and Jamie also have. Mummy is girl, Jamie is girl also. But boy cannot touch girl. Cannot let other boy touch u." She only did that for awhile and stopped.

There was once she had bad nappy rash and while changing her diaper, hb applied nappy cream for her. She scream for me.. and when I rush in, she told me "Mummy, Pa Pa.." she pointed hb is touching her. So I guess she understand what I told her in the bathroom.

Try explaining to JH, I think he will understand after sometime.
 
Today my boy finally waved goodbye to me at his PG. Didn't cry anymore.

So happy. He looked like he was going to, but he controlled his emotions and waved goodbye to me.

Will see how he goes on Mon. Hopefully he will still be ok.

And he finally called me 'Mummy' altho i've to force it out of him. He'll go Mi Ma Mi Ma Mi... But at times, he'll still go back to coming me 'Di ah' (dear).

You all are not alone. My girl's reaction towards PG is getting worse and worse. Now she even refuses to leave the house when we say she's going to school. We'll have to bluff her that we're bringing her elsewhere for her to leave the house. And she cries all the time when my helper leaves her at the PG. Also dunno what to do. Not sure whether her behaviour is a sign that she doesn't enjoy PG? I think i shall call up and ask.

I'm the one who brings Ariene to the PG in the morning. Yes, Janelle is usually crying and another few more others. The few times I brought Ariene home last week after the PG, Janelle is happily sitting down on the chair beside Ariene doing their work and not crying. Its normal for them to cry for the first few days or even weeks. In fact, today when I brought Ariene there, only Janelle and 1 other girl was crying. Ariene did not cry since the first day of school but these last 2 days, she cry when I left. I guess she just wants the teacher's attention cuz they get more if they're crying.

Give Jan 2 more weeks and see how. If u give up and pull her out now, will you do the same if she fusses again at K1 or P1? They'll "learn" that by crying they don't have to goto school (which is not true right) and it'll probably be 10x worse at K1 and P1. They'll resort to lying that they're sick to escape school.

agree with mamapanda that if u withdraw janelle just becoz she cried, she'll continue doing that till pri sch. my MIL who's a kindergarten teacher told me that she has a student from another class who does that. That gal knows that whenever she cries, she gets to go home and she does that pretty often.

Unless it's becoz u think the teacher is ill treating your kid, if not, it's better to stay put. It will also send the message to Janelle that she has to go sch no matter what and she'll accept it more readily. My boy also kind of 'resigned' himself to the fact that mummy won't budge and tried to like school.

i have a livecam at home that i can use to monitor my maid. so that's how we know she's at home. i also prefer that a more neutral party sends him to sch so that he has no separation anxiety. this morn, i actually had to send him to sch again cos the bus driver left when we were late for 5 min! in the end, cos i stepped into the sch and another gal was crying for mummy, JH also started to cry when i was going to leave.

i m trying to find other sch bus arrangements and see how it goes. if not, may pull him out for a while.

so much trouble over the sch bus. i think the main thing is that the bus driver in the first place is not very willing to do the job cos the money is so little.

it's really common for the toddlers to cry upon reaching sch and for them to refuse to go to sch. Clariss attends cc since 3rd Dec and up till today, she still says she doesn't want to go to sch but she has stopped crying and she is taking more food in the cc and I can see that she is enjoying her sch activities.

I think your boy is doing very well. Clariss also managed to put up a brave front after 2 weeks at the cc and when she does that, it made me so proud and I feel like crying. although she still cry on and off in class after 2 weeks, I am surprised that she tried to control her emotions when we sent her. Now that she is in the cc for more and 1.5mths, she sometimes sing when I send her to sch. they will take sometime to get used.

maybe u want to check with the teachers if she is being bullied in class or maybe you can find out how are the teachers in her class? One of my colleagues son was bullied in her sch, he was bitten by one of his classmates and till now at 3yrs still refuse to go to sch. However, if she is just crying because she is not used to the routine, then don't worry too much. It's a good idea to keep talking to them using the teachers name and if u know their classmates' name, talk about them. after a while, they will enjoy going to sch to play w them. clariss's cousin is in the same class as her and i always asked if she wants to go to sch with her ge ge. build up the familiarity.
 
Hi SY, What's your hubby's opinion of yesterday's lateness? He's ok with the driver even through all these? How long is the drive from your place to the cc? And how long is it from the cc to his workplace? Sometimes, parents choose schoolbus bcos going to work late after dropping the kid means jam and getting to work late, and how the office people view him.... that's from the hubby's point of view.

But if he's ok except with the taking leave part. One option is not to send him there when this happens (and like the rest said, how often?), or let your maid send him there when it happens.

When I was sourcing for cc, distance/transport is one of my biggest concern. Hubby doesn't want son to sit on the schoolbus for too long, so even though good schools are dropped if the bus journey is more than 1/2 hr. I used to cycle to-and-fro to pick him up, and when I was preggie, I walked, and took a bus home with him. With the current cc, I'll walk+take a bus to-and-fro to fetch him, and luckily there's another mother who's helping me to fetch by car on 4 days, I fetch only 2 kids by public bus on the other day. But that kid tend to skip school more often than expected, esp when daddy's at home. So, when that happens, I'll fetch. And eventually when my maid goes back, I'll bring K along to fetch his brother by bus, and hop onto taxi home with I've to bring 3 children back. And btw, there's a schoolbus and the journey is just 5 mins but I'll only go for it when it becomes really inconvenient for me to fetch. So SY, there are various options to solve the issue. Just go thru' with your hubby and change to suit as it happens. Oh yes, I've seen such bus driver that's not very willing to do such a job.... but I've seen very nice bus driver, spoke to one before and he was telling me how good how good the school is and when I told him how concerned I am of the schoolbus, he told me how happy the kids are in the bus and how they learn from each other on the journey. Too bad, I didn't quite like the school, though I like the bus driver :>

frankly, hb was hopping mad abt yesterday's lateness cos we were not even given a call. he is of the opinion that we cannot trust our kid with someone who is not responsible. After today's episode where the sch bus just left without picking JH up, i think he doesn't even want to let JH board the bus anymore. he actually called my parents to ask whether they can help pick JH up from sch today (without me knowing). I know he's worried etc abt the bus driver's attitude etc.

I am now trying to see whether i can find other bus drivers who send to nearby schools to pick JH up as well. 2 of them said they will reply me so i really hope to get good news from one

For me, i dun mind if we send JH to sch ourselves but hb is not willing. one thing is we have to change our route to work. even if we can send him to sch, i still need someone to pick him up. i m not keen to let my maid do it cos she can't possibly take taxi everyday to fetch my boy. she's quite blur and careless so taking bus i dun feel safe.

my other option wd be to look for a nearby sch but so far those i called somehow dun do playgroups..dunno why...

if i m not working, i dun mind even if i have to take bus to send him there and back. praying hard for a solution now.

actually seeing how JH reacted today when i dropped him off, i prefer not to be the one to drop him off. i actually stepped inside the sch so he tot i will be staying with him and he cried so hard when i left. teacher also said that he was a bit more weepy today cos of this morning's episode. if not he is perfectly good.

hope i din make a wrong decision to start him on sch... sometimes i think it wd be so easy if i just pull him out of sch. but seeing how bored he was at home, i tot it wd be nicer for him to go to sch.

sorry for the long post. just that this sch bus thing has been on my nerves the whole week...

Personally, I still think that it's best that your maid send your boy to school and save yourself headache on irresponsible bus drivers or bus that doesn't keep to the schedule. You'll just have to take a few trips on the public bus with her to show her the route. I'm sure your maid will familiarise herself soon. As for the separation anxiety with your maid, I think don't worry too much about that. JH will settle down eventually.
Or if the school near your place has no playgroup, how about half day child care?

I agree with queen and ky. Though I know your concern that your maid is blur and careless but that's because she hardly have off days and if she doesn't go out with you all frequent enough, of course she'll be blur about her surroundings. Sometimes just have to write down the instructions and how many bus stops to stop at. For the teething period now, just have to be patient to leave house earlier and take public transport with your maid and JH till you're confident that she's confident. She's an adult already, so should be able to take some form of respondsibility

Before D started school, on the weekends, I will bring my helper out with me and show her which bus-stop to take and which buses to come back home. So 1st day of school, I took leave to orientate her as well as intro her to the school teachers so that they will know that she's responsible in picking him up. So far so good, she does a good job and she took the initiative to call me upon reaching home with D since Tuesday when I'm at work (when I didn't ask her to but she did anyway). I've already known and estimated how long the journey would take. My hb and myself would be the ones to send D to school via public bus transport as we don't drive and then we'll have to rush off to work thereafter.

D is getting slightly better. He still does cry upon reaching the school but not as "cham" as the 1st few days. He's still reluctant to dress up for school but I think he'll gradually recognize that this will be part of his routine. When we went by to school to celebrate his bday with his classmates, he was ok, not crying and behaving himself well. It's upon seeing us that he got frantic and cried...very drama.

u dunno how forgetful my maid is...there was one day that i happened to be on leave and she told me that she needs to go and buy sanitary napkins. she had just assumed she has enough when she only had one left. something that she use everymonth, she can also forget she needs to buy..i was pretty amazed by that actually. i dun really wan to take any chances and i know my hb will not agree to let her take bus to bring JH. she's always been quite blur and once she's out of the house, she will forget what she needs to do one.

i dun bring her out that often cos i feel tat she gets envious when we buy stuff. so i dun wan her to keep feeling this way so i avoid bringing her to shopping esp.

perharps if she had shown herself to be more careful, we will let her send but i know my hb won't feel comfy abt that option. she has been with me for 2 years but still no initiative at all. the only reason i keep her is cos i know she still dotes on JH. if not for that, i will actually not keep her.

my maid is sick again. even my neighbour noticed that my maid falls sick very often. i already asked her to eat more fruits and drink more water but not helping. and the best part is whenever she seems sick, we will ask her is she sick and her reply will be don't know. how can u not know whether u r sick or not? this morn she totally like lost half the voice and still dun wan to admit she is sick. even when my mum asked her, she said she dunno whether she sick or not. does your maids do that?

it was only when i told her if she's not well by sun, she can't go out (she was planning to go out on sun for her day off) then she willing to go see doc. she has been falling sick and seeing doc quite a few times since she's here and not once did she need to pay for it so i dun understand why she finds it hard to admit she's sick...

anyone got such experience?

I called up the PG that Janelle goes to just to find out if she really enjoys herself there. The teacher said she loves the music and movement but doesn't like the lesson time, ie. when it's structured learning time where they have to sit down. And she'll be walking around doing her own thing during lesson time! Oh no.
Anyway i shall just keep Janelle at PG for now. Hopefully she'll not be so negative abt it. Today she kept saying "don't want to go Little Pals" even after she came back from PG!

hehe, just a thot, maybe she's scared that you'll fire her if she keeps getting sick? Maybe in her hometown, u become a burden to the family if u are sick? Or she's scared to take meds? Hehe, i still know of adults who will avoid seeing to dr so that they don't get the meds. I've a friend who eats garlic when she's sick. I told her to go see a dr, but she refused, saying that the meds are poison to the body.

hahah, same as my boy! My boy loves music time but hates any lessons. Even when it's parent accompanied prog like in JG, he will roam ard when it's time for lessons.

we told her many times that if she's sick, she needs to let us know cos she is JH's main caregiver. even my parents have told her before as well. when she's sick, we need to make arrangements for someone else to care for JH etc so she must let us know. there was a time i just gave up on her and let her be cos i was ard at home and she won't be in close contact with JH.

she's certainly not afraid to take medicine. in fact, got once she overdose on the panadol. she took like almost the whole box in one day!!

maybe got to give janelle some time. JH also doesn't join in all the activieis and the teachers will let him do something else if he doesn't wan to join in. how big is the class btw?

yeah my maid likes to keep things to herself. even when her mum passed away, she din tell us until i keep asking her what's wrong. i offered to let her go back for a while but she din go in the end. but later she seems to want to go and told my mil abt it but when we ask her she said no. then she told my mum's maid she cannot decide. in the end she cannot make up her mind, we just let it be as well....she's quite funny one.

Your maid is really weird... hmmm. Can see why you are not completely comfortable with her. I don't understand why she does not want to go back for her mom's funeral! And overdosing on the panadol? That's a bit creepy... but maybe she was feeling very sick and thought that the more pills she eat, the better she'll feel?
 
Re: Childcare
JW is still crying very badly when we leave him in childcare. THough the teacher says he only cries on and off throughout the day but both hb &amp; I feel that he is a lot more quiet nowadays and he always looked so starved by the time we reach home for dinner.

Today we both took leave to keep him company since it is his birthday. Haven't seen him so happy for a long time. Feels so guilty.

Hi mummies - That was a lot to read in 5 days! Haha...I've got my car back but no news from insurance company yet.

Started on my new work area this week. Started out really blur...lost...but picked up mid-week from the person I am taking over from. PG: I have plans to have Cephas attend wkend PG for now. Still sourcing for one near home. Will prob put him in for daily lessons next yr aft he turns 3.

Yuki - U r not alone. I also can't bake though I wld love to! I always admire kitchen stuff when shopping or flipping thru magazines but super hopeless one. Haha...maybe go into baking lessons after my studies end
