I had a good confinement this time round. The CL really cook more bu for me & I get to rest more at night. During #1 time, I wasnt really bothered to bu & my prev CL also super chin chye. This time, I went to Hockhua & bought myself 1 big bag of tonic, upon recommendation from the hockhua staff. And ask the CL to cook for me. After she left, I ordered 1 more week of confinement food from natal essentials cos my maid dun really know how to cook then. So, at least I had abt 40 days of confinement food.

U dun accept pm so cant pm you.Mayb i contact u thru SY? My boy also in K1. When did ashley join ECCH? Mine joined T1 last year. THe school does phonics program with the kids and I tink most k1 kids already finish the pink series so should be veri competent with 3 "letter" words and also have acquired the skills of blending.. If u are worried mayb u can talk to Hansa. Not wanted to look at the words is quite common. Mine started off like that too and he is still the same esp books with paragraphs. He will always complain that the words are too small and he cannot see. I always think that starting with simple words to get him montivated helps. YOu have any readers? Reading reqs certain amount of memorising esp sight words (ECCH moving towards sight words also) so need to expose the words to them frequently enough before can pick it up. Of course, readers are boring and dry esp when they start off inititally but after sometime can read thru readers veri fast.

My kids love mac and cheese and so if i really run out of time. I will just boil the macaroni with carrots, peas and potato and pour the cheese over. Fry egg omelette for protein. Super easy.

JH reply is so cute. Enjoy ur self while u still can with 1 kid. When no.2 comes will have to cater to no.2 reading needs. I am facing huge problem now. Both wans me to read to them at the same time. So my routine is that I pick two books, no.1 can pick 2 and no.2 will pick 1 book. no. 1 will have to read i book to us first. Then mommy will read the rest of the books. But both of them will fight to be read to first. Thank God no.2 still with me at home so I can still read to her before naptime but dunno how if no.3 comes. I will have to increase my bedtime reading routine from 1 hour to 1.5hr coz need to read more books!

Parroting words
my girl picks up lots of stuff from older brother. My boy is into transformers toys and my girl amazingly knows the name of all the robots from optimus prime to starscream WITHOUT even watching the show. She even knows what is an autobot! When we travel on the road and if we see a yellow car, she will scream "it is bumble bee car, the autobots!" Aiyo and if I ask her what is autobots she can tell me it is the good robots.

Talking about picking up vulgarities. I was at Macdonlad with the kids and there was this movie scene with a person swearing sh**. Then my girl look at me and ask "mommy, what shi** means." I told her it is a veri bad word that ppl use on others. We should not use it. Then the next thing she does was "sh** kor kor!"in the top of her voice and my no.1 also did the same thing swearing at each other. Aiyo....so embarrasing. thank god she stopped using that word after that day.

just a quick update. went for my checkup today. everything is normal. forgot to ask how big bb is but my gynae said everything is normal. think bb's position has shifted up also.

today my parents made me so gan cheong. JH complained that he got stomach pain and they kept asking me to bring him to doc. so stressed out by them. in the end the doc said nothing wrong with him. i feel JH using the word pain to gain attention sometimes. anyway tmr, i m going to pack him off to sch since the doc has cleared him. he seemed so bored at home.

D is crying big time each time we send him for his half-day PG session at the day care. So much to the point he recognizes exactly where we've alighted which means : SCHOOL. Aiyoh, this morning was my turn to bring him there and drop him off. Once we got off the bus and approach the traffic light to cross, I offered and asked D is he wanted to get down and walk to cross the road. He started sobbing!!! And we're like 400m away from the school and it's not in sight yet. The moment we got in the compounds and to the sign-in area, he just cried and cried!! Sigh....he's not as enthusiastic as I thought he would be, think he's too free-spirited when he's at home. But the teacher was very firm and just proceed to bring him in as he cried...but once inside and as the teacher led him away from my sight, could hear that he stopped crying.

JH is really opposite of most kids. this morn we had to send him to sch cos the bus was really late. initialy i was afraid if i send him, he will fuss and dun wan to go in. instead, i pass him his bag and he din even turn his head to look at me and went in with teacher!

sigh i got sch bus problem again. hb dislikes the bus driver cos he's quite irresponsible. so either we change the driver or we pull JH out of sch. this morning he was 30 min late and din call us. when i called him, he said he din have my number. i called him so many times in the past 2 weeks and he can say i dun have his number?? so hb thinks he is really not very responsible. if he doesn't have my number, who is he going to call if got emergency.

I think it's impt to have a good and responsible bus driver. imagine his attitude while fetching the toddlers. their safety is in his hands. how about changing to another sch with another bus driver if there is no other bus driver going by the route.
We wanted Clariss to take sch bus to sch eventually but for the time being we really feel that she is too young so we rather put in more effort to drop her to sch. I am on confinement but I go out everyday to send her and pick her up. Can't do a proper confinement but I it's ok for me.

my hb refused to send. haiz. no matter what i say he doesn't wan to send cos he feels it's not practical. we went thru that many times already and i dun wan to argue with him.

i need to call up all the sch again. those that i caleld near my place got no sch bus so far.
 
SY, you can try calling the school and express your unhappiness, and ask if the school can look for another schoolbus operator. It helps if you can talk to the parents who are putting their child on the school-bus and see u can find the same sentiments there...

And usually there should be a 'auntie' to follow the school bus, to mind the children.

Check with the school again. For Ashley's school bus, it is thru reference by the school. I don;t know if it is the school who interfer.... the school bus used to come very early to fetch the children when there is combine event. I normally skip such event as the school bus will come at 7am........ maybe the school realise that and poor attendance etc, the school bus rearrange their plan etc so that they can fetch at 730 and yet reach school in time.

talking abt sch bus auntie. My boy's class is supposed to end at 11am, but coz the sch bus aunties always come to fetch them at 10.50am, end up his class will end early. Argh. Now i've to be there earlier to get him else he becomes the last to leave.

I also agree that a responsible school bus driver and aunty is VERY important. Although a good school is important but responsibility and safety will come first.
if the school bus issue cannot settle, then maybe can change school? if you are really changing, let the school know they are losing biz becos of the bus, at least they know it's affecting their biz.
Denmy mention abt MMI at katong mall or something? maybe u can consider that? or the MMI at Pasir ris park.. that is very very near, your hb will probably agree to put JH there and drop him off only coming back need school bus and journey is short.

you are not alone. my gal kept saying don't want teacher, don't want go to school even before she left my mil's house. and she cried and refused to change to her uniform, too. end up, my mil got to call me and let me talk to my gal. luckily, after reasoning to her and tell her how fun the school is, she's willing to change the uniform without sobbing....
mil was so sim tia to see her like that. then this morning she had slight fever. but, i told my mil that if by the time she's about to leave the house and my gal doesn't have fever anymore, she should still bring her to the class.

ya, talk to JH's school. we depend on the driver to ensure that our kid can reach home safe and sound. so, the driver's attitude is very important.

Ashley's school is in Bedok. The school bus comes from Pasir Ris....

Her lessons starts at 11am and her school bus comes at 1015am.... used to be 10am last year.

the sch can't find another bus operator. the teacher called all the available numbers in the yellow pages and this is the only operator who is willing to do it. in fact the sch tops up so that he gets min sum every month.

the bus has an auntie. she is quite alright and my boy is ok with her. the first day he already allow her to carry him up and down the bus.

i will see how it goes over the next few days. apparently the bus driver told the sch today the expressway got major accident. i dun mind that he is late but must inform me abt it

my hb is concerned that when we are on leave or sick etc etc, then we won't be able to send JH to sch as we have to make that extra trip. i know it sounds very weird but he is quite insistent and he feels that it is better to have a bus driver who confirm can send everyday.

if you read about my previous posting on the 'ku ku' thing, on the rare occasions that I'm completely topless and Isaac is around, he also want to touch my nipples. He thinks that they are the same as 'ku ku' initially! Now our boys understand that it's different when we are clothed and when we are not, so they are just curious lah...
I will quickly turn away and say 'cannot touch' loudly.

Indeed there is a major jam at TPE this morning. Came out from my house in Sengkang at 730am and reach Tampines at 850am. Super late for work man. Apparently a few cars crash together. By the time i pass by the scene, the cars had been removed to road side but still people slow down to take a look at the scene......

Agree he should at least call.

I am rather paranoid... sometimes i worried the school bus driver drives too fast etc........ The thot of standing at one spot whereby the school bus will pass by to 'spot check' on the school bus driver. haha

Indeed there is a major jam at TPE this morning. Came out from my house in Sengkang at 730am and reach Tampines at 850am. Super late for work man. Apparently a few cars crash together. By the time i pass by the scene, the cars had been removed to road side but still people slow down to take a look at the scene......

Agree he should at least call.

I am rather paranoid... sometimes i worried the school bus driver drives too fast etc........ The thot of standing at one spot whereby the school bus will pass by to 'spot check' on the school bus driver ever cross my mind. haha

i also think the chance of us falling sick is rare but we tend to take leave together. or if hb takes leave then i usually dun drive to work. he can't wake up early one.

i m not breastfeeding anymore. stopped for very long already. dunno why recently he suddenly keeps wanting to touch my nipple.

Wine Tapestry is at the Bt Batok CSC. Quite a nice cozy place. Sysac and Chicken Little had celebrated their boys' 1st birthday there before on separate occasions.
