for now, if caleb gets naughty like tat day he put his fingers in the fish tank. and i walked to him, kneel down and told him sternly, shaking my head "don;t put ur fingers in the fish tank!" and he look at me and nod his head saying "ah yesss!" so cute..and i try my best not to laugh. he is like a japanese..nodding his head vigourously saying AH YES! haha..i turned to my mum and say..how to use cane...he so cute. making me laugh somemore.

happy.gif
im gona be a free woman from Thurs aft my last paper! yes!

Mummies, share sometin sweet tat Celeste did ytd.. i was at the market leaving her at home wf the helper and sis. then sis carried her and was pointing to the family pics at the living room. when it came to my pic,she burst out Mami! and started crying ... sis quickly gave her biscuit to calm her down. then just secs later, she turned and saw the pics again and tis time was inconsolable... sis called me and ask me to hurry home and thank god i was just at the void deck liao.luckily i decided to go to the nearby market instead of the usual farther one. the moment i reach the doorstep, she stopped crying and hugged me very very tightly, as if worried i will leave her... Awwwwww,so sweet! haha, very bad hor, enjoying her missing me at the expense of her pain n tears... :p

god;s child - awww...so sweet of Celeste. i showed caleb my family potrait and it does not have any effect on him. haha...he only can pt to his chest whenever its his pic.

hmm so does that mean u cannot go on a couple vacation without hiding all ur family potraits?
happy.gif

Hi mummies
The following question was asked a couple of times.. and I happen to come across it.. just to share

Is it safe to carry around my toddler when I'm pregnant?

First answer | Second answer

Expert: M.J. Hanafin, certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner in private practice, San Anselmo, CA

It depends on how heavy the toddler is and how far along in pregnancy you are. You don't have your tummy muscles to help you lift, and if you don't use good back mechanics when lifting, you could get back problems. So be sure to always bend your knees and keep your back straight when lifting. In general you shouldn't be lifting heavy things, more than 5 or 10 pounds, when you're pregnant. Obviously a toddler weighs more than that, so it's not a good idea to carry her once you've gone past 30 weeks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Expert: Kay Daniels, assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology, Stanford University, Stanford, CA

It all has to do with biomechanics. Basically you shouldn't pick up anything greater than 25 pounds, so if your toddler weighs more than that, I'd try to avoid carrying him around. It's not that it puts the pregnancy at risk; it puts your back at risk. As the uterus expands, the abdominal muscles no longer give support to your back muscles so when you're lifting things you have little back support. If you do have to pick something up, make sure to bend your knees.

hi mummies
I think 1 mummy asked before on behalf of a friend abt the following.
Just share the info... i think its' something we have to take note esp those who hasnt had their chicken pox

Is it safe to be around a child with the chicken pox when I'm pregnant?

First answer | Second answer

Expert: Thomas Easterling, professor of obstetrics, University of Washington Medical School, Seattle, WA

It depends. If you've had the chicken pox then you're immune and you won't get it. More than 90 percent of us had the chicken pox growing up and a simple blood test can tell you if you're immune. If you're not, then you shouldn't be around a child who has the chicken pox because if you caught it, it could be catastrophic for you and your baby. If you get it late in the pregnancy, and you deliver the baby during the period when the virus is replicating in your body but you haven't yet developed antibodies to it, it's a catastrophe; the baby can develop a central nervous system infection that gives her a 50 percent chance of ending up with severe neurological problems. However, the danger can be averted if the baby is given zosterimmunoglobulin at birth. If you get chicken pox earlier in your pregnancy, there's some chance that the baby could get chicken pox, too, and develop sores on her body that could cause limb deformities. In rare cases, exposed fetuses develop neurological problems. The other danger is that you could get chicken pox in your lungs (varicella pneumonia), which is not common but can be life-threatening. Drugs used to treat herpes, such as acyclovir, can reduce the severity of the symptoms. If it's a child in your household who has come down with chicken pox, you've already been exposed to the virus for four or five days before the child developed the pox. If you're not immune you can go on medication like acyclovir to suppress the virus from developing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Expert: Deborah Ehrenthal, assistant residency program director of obstetrics and gynecology, Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE

Not if you've never had the chicken pox. If you get the chicken pox during pregnancy, you tend to get sicker and are at higher risk of developing pulmonary complications. If you get chicken pox in the first trimester there is also a small risk of birth defects. So if you've been exposed to someone with the chicken pox and know you've never had it, you should consider getting varicella immune globulin within a few days to try to prevent the infection from developing. If you actually come down with the chicken pox, you may be given an antiviral drug such as acyclovir to try to decrease the severity of the infection.

celest
God's child... celest is soooo sweet!!
kaelyn has just got separation anxiety recently..when both my Hb and myself not around and she is with someone not too familar. she will go search around the rooms to confirm we are not around before she cry until very Chi Cham...

Cookie/SY/SSF/Sunny - i thot it was very sweet a sight wf tat wet face too haha.. kinda shiok to have someone miss me to that extent :p my HB never even miss me like tat,at least i know he wont tear..

SSF - eh,i guess hor i wont go for holidays wf out her!!! i tink if i do so,i will be the one crying then... hee. at times when HB and i go JB or elsewhere for supper at nite,i will miss her terribly though she is sleeping. will start blaming HB esp for the 'good' idea to go JB then get very panicky.. oni when i see her in the cot sleeping peacefully then can i smile again... sigh... i also very one kind lor hahahhaha

cookie/SSF - better dun carry them too much then... backache is no joke! i rem when i just deliver celeste, first few months of continual bending over to carry and pick her up aldy give me terrible backaches for a while... wat more for your when preggie, better take care! calcium supplements MUST take ar...

ECP cycling
Mamachan
Not sure if I shld reserve a bicycle. Hubby plans to cycle with Aidan, but we have a wedding dinner tonight which means Aidan will prob sleep in later tom. So we will be arriving a bit later than 9am. More like 10am? So I am thinking, maybe i just go and rent one when I arrive? what do you think?

Cheng
Maybe you should reserve one. Tomorrow is PH , ECP should be quite crowded. If by the time you reach there dun have , then can take over ours since I dun think we can cycle that long.

Hi Queen - Yes, enjoy your time with Isaac b4 u start on a new job. The time spent is priceless!

God's-child - U r so 'bian tai'. Haha, but it is indeed a nice feeling! Cephas will cling to me like a koala bear the min I pick him up from eith mum or MIL. I secretly enjoy the feeling/moment although I do not show it. Haha...

Cookie - Yeah, nice day to sleep in with Kae!

SSF - Caleb like's to 'fish' huh! What a cute sight! My BIL bought 2 expensive arrowanas and they swim in 2 separate tanks in my IL's hse. Everytime I carry Cephas to look at the fish, he will go mum mum.

My mum called & told me she bought Cephas 2 terrapins this afternoon. She bought a portable tank for them to live in too. Cephas is so excited & keeps carrying the tank, walking about & talking to them in his baby language. What a sight! Will post his 1st pets in his blog! Now got to think of names for them!

Hi AK

Re : Aquaducks .... I dug into the archives, and the list at the end below. I don't mind organizing because I think the window for Keith to get more "productive" in the water is here (but if anyone's already doing, then pls feel free to carry on ... SY, think it was you). Anyway, Keith's been happily paddling around in armfloats and ok to go underwater. Would like to go for trial to see how good the lesson is. I've called them up and they are 2 locations - Buona Vista (weekdays and weekends) and Suntec (weekdays).

Trial is free. Each lesson is 30 mins. Monthly fee is $90 (if you have babybliss card by SouthWest CDC, you get 10% discount).

Max per group: 6

I'll think with the groupsize, we perhaps can do 2 groups. I'll like to do at Buona Vista as the water is not so cold. Timing wise, the lady I spoke to will get back to me on wed (will be in later afternoon).

So, just checking the list here ... are the mummies still keen and where would you prefer (Buona Vista is only available on weekday)

sysac - caleb likes to pretend to feed the fishes. i told my parents not to let him feed the fishes coz he will know that he is allow to go near the tank and play with the water. but haiz...apparently my parents dun really take it seriously. so now when we ask him how ah gong feed fish? he will hover his hands in the air as if he is throwing fish food. *faint*

ur mum so cute to buy him terrapins. i guess cephas must be thinking its his tool box. but pity those terrapins who will be getting giddy with cephas walking to and fro. haha..

God's child/SSF

God's child
Jiao you! I understand your feeling... very soon you will have all the time in the world for celeste... and its a great feeling... jiao you!!!

COokie
I still carry tabby quite a bit cos she's very sticky still.... but i don't carry her for long.. sometimes i make her walk, sometimes i just tell her mommy's tired.. i'll hold her hand and let daddy carry.. i realise its not so good for her to be so sticky..

RE: turtles
I wanted to get that for tabby too but my mom says cannot buy her turtles... i think its becos of some old chinese show where turtles supposed to be bad luck... but tabby loves turtles.. i always bring her to the MAcs at ridout to see the turtle pond...

rena
good to hear that your maid cleans well. my hb always complain abt my maid not cleaning well but i always tell him most impt is that she takes care of JH well.

they pick up language really fast. so think just give her some time. mine now knows a bit of chinese and english also getting better. sometimes must really be careful of what we say in front of her!

SSF/God's_child/SY

Ok. Seen my son in action with the pets! He's quite steady in carrying the tank. HB took out the terrapins to let him touch. He was quite gentle with them. Was apprehensive when he 1st touched them but then after some encouragement, he was patting their shells. When we let him hold them, he let go when they started moving their legs. He just laffed away when they moved!

He's quite fascinated with them. Keep talking to them. If we put the tank on the floor, he wld lie down & chat with them. Quite a funny sight!

Tracy - Yep, it's kopi-tiam style. Megan may not enjoy the warm weather. Anyway, enjoy your fries! Tempted to go now
