I'm also counting down too...starting my ML next week. Can't wait to get some rest cos really feels heavy to walk too much now. Wonder if my gal will come out on her due date next week? Been putting on quite a bit of weight....

Hmm, seems like got quite a few Sengkang mummies izzit? I'm also staying in SK side....wow, next time can have mummies club for SK liao!

thanks for the well wishes ... yap FINALLY gave birth heehee ....

just discharge from the hospital today .... bb is sleeping ... tried to wake him up for feeding but he just cont to zzzz ... so tot i pop in for a while heehee ....

here is my birth story ....

10 Sept - played MJ until 11.30pm ... exp irregular contraction but ignored cos been having that feeling for quite a while but will always go off by the next day type ...

11 Sept

12.30am felt that the contraction was getting stronger and more regular ... started timing the contraction ... one contraction every 5 mins ...

1.30am - decided to go down to Mt A ... started doing last min packing ....

2.10am - reached Mt A .... send to the delivery ward to change

2.30am - nurse checked ... said 3cm dilated and she could feel the bb head .... luckily we decided to go down to the hospital

3.00am - dr came to administer epi ... knew that i prob cant tahan cos the regular contraction were already a killer ...

3.30am - epi administered ... was told to rest ... but me and hubby too excited to zzzzz

5.00am - nurse came to check ... say abt 4cm to 5cm dilated

7.30am - gynae came ... checked say abt 6cm to 7cm dilated ... burst my waterbag. Nurse ask my hubby to go freshen up and have breakfast. Bb should arrive in 1-2hr time ...

8.10am - nurse came ... checked and say already 9cm dilated and my urge to push was very strong ... increase epi to prevent me from pushing ... called my hubby and ask him to come back immed ...

8.20am - hubby came back ... everyone started to get ready ... then started the pushing session ... hubby shouted 1,2 PUSH with the midwife .... wow like suffer big time constipation like that heehee

8.38am - bb was BORN!!!!

so my boi is a 11 Sept baby ... he weighs 2.79kg (smaller than what we expected cos he was last measured at 2.95kg)... havent choose a name yet cos need to look for the pro ...

so this is my birth story ...

for those ladies with dr cheng ... we are in good hands ar .. my hubby keep saying that dr cheng was very steady heehee ...

okie ... gotta rest ... my mum nagging at me liao ... maybe me go and see if my bb want wake up for milk anot ... been 4hr since his last feed ...

hi ladies,

just wanna check with all of you regarding 'show'. my EDD is 25th Sept and doc says that i will be early.

i'm having yellow mucus discharge yesterday and today but no blood streak. They are abit lumpy (i stare at my pad until my eyes crossed but no blood streak.) is it the 'show'? i dun have mucus like these before.

Anyone delivers in East Shore? Any comments on it? supposed to have a hospital visit but my husband kept on postponing due to work... haiz... know nuts about the hospital..

oh yes cat_tail... veri veri shiok.... been wanting to do it ever since i finished confinement.... so veri veri happy when i finally able to go facial... how's your girl doing? i showed your girl's pic to my hubby and he said your girl veri pretty... and ask me to book...hahaha... so i told him lots of people book already... ;)

you should be calling your gynae and check with him... i believe the yellow mucus is coming from the water bag because i have that when i was in the labour ward waiting for my cervix to open
 
seabreeze: congrats!!! haha.. finally read ur birth story le.. hehe..do rest well in the meantime. ok? mm.. went to dr cheng today for gynae visit as usual.. know that baby has turned.. phew.

and am really relieved to hear tat dr cheng is good in his work too! good luck and have fun in motherhood.

pls wake your baby up to eat. If he's a jaundiced baby, likely he'll sleep & sleep even 5-6hr without feeding, but it's not good for his system coz no input means no output. And jaundiced babies need to put put (ie poo) so that the toxin will be expelled.
Try exercising him/ take off his clothes to wake him up.
 
wendy: yesterday hubby was on MC, so quickly drive out and do my facial, got my eyebrow trimmed... feel so shiok!!! plus, mum was around yesterday to help up in looking after baby Nathan...

You tried pet pet on your baby right? where can i find S size from? NTUC don't have S size leh...also, for the sizing, you mentioned S size is like Mamy Poko NB? So if my girl is using Mamy Poko size S, should i buy Pet Pet size M or size S still can fit?

i'm back home with my boy 'Ern Ray' today. He arrived on 9 Sep at 9.16pm via c-section, weighing 3.43kg. Will share my birth story later.

Mummies and MTBs,
I have one question. Do your gynae do CTG for half an hour during your 38th week visit? My gynae says she will be doing that for me next week leh. Do they charge extra cost for that? How much huh?
I kena the swap the previous visit. She charged me about $40. I think quite reasonable lah hor...

Yeah your doc will make u do a CTG when nearing full term. My gynae charged $40 per 20min.
My only grouse is that this service should've been included in the package since it's a standard procedure. I asked the gynae assistant that since it's an extra charge, can we do without it? She said No. The best thing is.. for the entire 9hr that I was in the labour ward, I was also being charged for CTG on a per hour basis!! *pengsan*
 
hows mummy surviving after cl left? my cl left 2 days.. the nights my bb wakes up a few times.. usu i try to latch him first.. after that he will sleep 1 or 2 hours before getting real hungry then i feed him formula.. as a result... a few times i have to wake up.. 2nd day only i largi tired

same here same here. I don't have a cl. My mom is my cl except that she is only helping me with the cook/teaching maid how to cook confinement food. Plus when she's here in the afternoon, she'll help me bathe Megan until full month.

My breast milk is also not sufficient for Megan too and she'll cry after 2 hours for formula. Last night she slept at 1am after fussing since 11+pm (due to colic), woke up at 2ish for milk. I breastfed her. she woke up at 5ish for formula.. was screaming at the top of her voice till my maid woke up. I sent my maid back to sleep cos she got lots to do in the daytime. After formula, she slept until 8am.. so still not too bad. Yesterday was a good night. When she is really in pain from colic, she can fuss every hour.. which is v tiring and heart pain for me to see her cry and scream.

Is it normal for newborn (2 week old) baby to have nasal congestion? Megan seem to have some difficulty breathing sometimes plus I can hear a bit of wheezing occasionally.

jus 2 share my birth story n here it goes..
8sep - contractions start about 10pm, at 15mins interval, cant feel much of e pain thou..

9sep,6am - contractions pain felt, continue to sleep,thot will call gynae about 9am n go down to his clinic

10am+ - reach clinic, gynae not in thou, nurse ask me 2 admit hospital immediate, since i already in TMC

11am- waiting for check by labour ward nurse, confirm in labour, 2cm dilated

12pm - gynae came, 4cm dilated, put on drip to expedite dilation, burst waterbag

330pm - cannot tahan pain, ask for epidural... after which, can watch tv n chit chat w hubby

5pm - dilation still at 4cm, gynae say to wait til 9pm, if still e same, go for c-section

9pm - fated for c-section. still 4cm dilated, gynae say bb's head too big, not fully engaged.
was send to ops theatre, within 16mins, bb is born. had c-section w epidural... e feeling is quite horible thou, but when hear bb's cry, tears start to roll down.

Ern Ray weighs 3.43kg, head cir 37cm, length 50cm.

It's apparently very common for baby to have nasal congestion. I read from one website that the problem is due to narrow nose bridge in newborns and it will eventually improves as the baby grows older

dun worry, with epi, there's no pain at all, but cos u can hear n feel e entire process, it make it seem horible...

as in i can hear 'tok','tok' sound, think its cutting sound, then when gynae need 2 push e bb out, u'll feel e sensation of pressing n pushing..

abit difficult 2 expain in words, but no worries n keep calm, jus look at yr hubby.

regarding breastfeeding-
i've been on total bf since day 1, but its nt regular, rather its on demand, n my boy's demand is erratic, at times 1 hr, 2 hr n longest 6 hr(once) when he sleep alot.
i'm not sure if i shd pump out my milk? n when do i know if i've enough or not? usually b4 i bf, i'll squeeze 2 make sure i've milk. but i heard that if breast is soft, means no milk. i've engorgement on day 4, but after that ok liao, then breast remain soft, so wat does that mean?
pls advise.

Must share this with you. My 'life saviour' arrived yesterday! Can't believe a bouncer can do such wonder! Now I have more free time to myself cos baby is happy and doesn't need me to 'fuss' over him

I actually don't have a CL and have to cope with everything myself. My mum usually comes at 1 pm to prepare lunch and dinner for me. After which I am on my own. Besides taking care of baby, so much time is spent on expressing milk! And just 2 days ago, I was too tired to express and didn't do so for 12 hrs, the next day immediately ran a fever as high as 39 degress celsius! Still had to wake up at night to attend to baby ... *sigh* Mothers really cannot afford to fall sick. I kept telling myself I have to recover cos baby needs me. Thank God with determination, the fever subsided the next day.

Quite proud of myself actually cos I can still do housework, wash laundry, bathe baby etc. There is of cos a price to pay. My fingers and foot hurt like hell. Guess it's a 'price' to pay by touching too much water during confinement.

Speaking of confinement, I will finally be 'released frm prison' this Sunday (after baby's full month celebration!) No more yucky food!!! Can't wait taking baby downstairs for a stroll ... Btw, anyone has any experience ordering buffet for full month celebration? Many pple we invite didn't RSVP so I really dunno how much to order. My hubby's side the relatives already close to 60. My side is another 25. This hasn't counted in our friends and colleagues. Too little food, paisey, too much food, waste $$$. I am using NEO Garden Restaurant. Pls advise. Many thanks!

hi angel, from ur feeding time seems like normal for breastfed babies leh... for the first few weeks u can expect to nurse up to 12 times a day, which means on average every 2 hrly, counting from start of first feed to start of next feed. breastfed babies need to feed more frequently than formula babies. if u want to go on total breastfeeding, try not to use formula and let the baby's frequent suckling stimulate ur supply.

breastfeeding is quite "siong", at least for me, cos it's tiring.... but that's the best lor... we can encourage one another here..

As long as you breastfeed, you will always have milk for baby irregardless of the interval. However, it is a little difficult to try to express if it's not baby's feeding time yet. If your baby sleeps for 6 hrs, I am sure your body will send a signal to tell you that baby shld wake up for his feeding. The milk will start to leak and that's the time to express it. Soft breast doesn't mean there is no milk.
 
Hi mummies

Long time never post any messages. I'm now feeling quite low. My confinement will be over tomorrow but I came down with bad rashes since last Sunday - at least 1000 of those itchy, red spots appearing all over my arms and legs. Went to the doctor twice and both said it's allergy but dunno due to what cos I'm now on confinement and doing/eating a lot of unusual things.....feeling real depressed and no mood to take care of bb.....

tbf mothers, just wanna check how long is your latch on time for each feed? my gal only suckles for 10-20mins (on good days) and sometimes i wonder if 10mins is enuff...

I'm using a sling bag. Normally i bring my avent manual pump, 1 extra milk bottle, 3-4diapers, hankies, wet tissue, diaper cream, changing mat, small bottle of bottle detergent and 1 ready-warm EBM,

Worshippers: Yes will be going.. we can share a cab here.. u pm me yr hp number lar.

mummy2b: u can buy from kiddy palace oso.

Tulip: past 3 weeks w/o my mum ard, hve learn to be multi-tasked liao.. like now, i am typing using hand and rock her using legs.. haha.. basically i treasure every min when she is asleep so tt i can do my own things like tidying &amp; cleaning the house.

I got mine from Farlin. You may refer to this website for pic. I place my baby in the bouncer after each feed (burp him first). He can sleep soundly for abt 3 hrs. I think it's cos it's latched on, he feels more 'secure'. Previously when I placed him on his mattress, he will get 'startled' by noise etc. and sometimes even wake up with a fright. Usually when that happens, it takes time to coax him to sleep. That's why I said this bouncer is a God-sent. I can now place him within viewing distance while doing housework

Anissa/Lib... so good your baby is able to sleep on the bouncer... mine didn't like it... after i place him at the bouncer, a while later he will start to make noise liao.... sigh... then have to pick him up and coax him to sleep first before placing him on the baby cot...
