unfortunately, what i'm pumping is mostly what i'm producing! *sigh* i latch jeremy on maybe 2x a day, but cos he keeps falling asleep while suckling, he doesn't stay satisfied for long, say 1/2 hour or so only. so i gotta express wat i can and supplement with fm... still, thanks for ur encouragement! will try to hang in there...

as for the bill, i had normal delivery with epidural, 2 nights' stay, single bed ward. came up to a total of $3k+ (b4 medisave deduction) so the cash payment was just under 2.3k if i'm not wrong... baby's bill was another 100+ cash... so total cash output, if i recall correctly, was under 2.5k... the stay was really enjoyable and the service was simply marvellous! my frens were all very impressed by the service standard they witnessed!
btw angel, i'll start the massage with another mdm rohaya on monday... if u're interested, i'll see how it goes and let u know if she's good!

Hi ixwong, I din do anything to increase.. just pump and pump lor. Each session approx. 30 mins.. I v. lazy one, once I see it reach 80 - 90ml, and no more milk out, I will stop pumping.. haha.. and I dun pump every 2 or 3 hrly. Only pump when I got the tingling pain in my breasts, ie. arnd 4 - 5 hrs lidat. Hm..maybe drink more soup and red dates tea helps? That's what I drank most of the time since cannot drink plain water.. *duh*

i heard fish and papaya soup helps? had the soup few times at TMC..going to ask my CL to cook that for me, see if it helps or not hehe

Is the water a lot? maybe its your waterbag. If its your waterbag burst, better call your labour ward and go down to the hospital immediately. cause risk of infection sets in about 12 hours after water bag bursts...call the TMC labour ward to make sure. they will tell you what to do..

I'm fr the octMTB thread.. Read your post about Mdm Norimah, Don't mind me asking, but around how old is she? Does her massage include oils and wrap? Is it painful I'm still thinking about getting a massage after delivary and sourcing arond now.. Thanks!

I heard that one dose of epidural costs abt $500 including the anaestasist fees? For me, it seems like I've not really been putting on much weight now. Are you still putting on consistently?

ya.. uma;s massage on my breast is really painful but it was $42 well spent cos after that i no more engorged and learnt how to do the 'real' massage, uma told me that we must drink 5 to 6 cups of milo a day so as to have more fluid. she said best to take 1/2 hr before bf. she recommended the medela traveller..but so expensive leh $600. my fren told me electric pump good for initial use cos havent establish flow but once flow established, avent pump is sufficient.. so meanwhile i am sticking to the avent pump and just keep pumping every 3 hours.
g6pd is a substance that strengthened the walls of the red blood cell. my bb had to stay in hospital for 10days for observation. did urs?

hi mummytobe, i think bcos when we pump we tend to stimulate the breast more than when baby suckles, that's why the change in supply?
g6pd is a type of enzyme that protect our red blood cells from breaking down. people who are deficient in this will tend to have red blood cells breaking down more frequently than others. When the cells break down, the liver has got to process this waste. In infants, their livers are not mature enough to manage this, therefore increasing their risk of developing high jaundice. That's why infants with g6pd deficiency are usually warded for jaundice observation/treatment in the first week or so. Btw, bcos of the red blood cells breaking down, they are also more likely to be anaemic.

I'm from the Oct thread. I go to Henry Cheng too. Can I check with you if you have talked to him about your birth plan? Does he encourage epidural? Is he pro-induction? Does he tell you under what circumstances he would like you to admit to hospital?

my hubby stayed over w/o meals provided, $60 per night. the bag had some instant FM (no milk powder), alcohol swabs for cleaning umbilical cord, the remnants of the pack of pampers and johnson's wet wipes... that's all i rem, cos unpack liao, can't trace back oraidy, sorry!

Alamak, like that how? even when i try to pump the other side to simulate milk flow, the right side still got more milk. Do you get equal milk flow from both breasts? cham lar like that..after i end up with one breast bigger than the other..eeeps!

hi mummytobe, apparantly most mothers will have uneven breasts, so dun worry too much...
that's why they encourage us to feed equally on both sides i guess... 
i dun pump both at the same time, cos that time i was latching onto 1, so dunno abt the volume... but feel that so long as ur kiddo is satisfied, need not worry abt the volume..

Hi fushiastar, Mdm. Norimah is in her 40s. She's v. friendly and chats a lot during the massage. Her massage is ok. I only find it painful the 1st and 2nd day she massage my breasts but glad she did tt too cos can clear blocked ducts. Subsequent massage of the breast is ok. She provides everything, oil, socks, girdles. End of the massage, she will give a bottle of oil and girdle. She will let u choose which type of girdle u prefer..she got a few types. Hope this info helps.

my co will 'deduct' MC that are taken 1 mth before the due date from the ML one ... me been taking leave to rest at home ....
me been vomiting on and off throughout my preg ... been on gastric med to control my vomiting even since the 4/5mth of my preg ... nothing much that my gynae can do for me already =(

Hi cookies, I dunno her schedule so you might as well call her now and check with her. Yes.. of cos, now tummy is smaller though there's still a small bulge. hee.. must use the girdle everyday for another 2 weeks.

Hi erowen, bb is v. comfy inside u, tt's y dun wanna come out.. haha.. no worries la. Some bbs are overdue by few days or even weeks. Anyway, the suggestions are taking a stroll, have sex and perhaps to eat some spicy food like curry.

I think I might also pass my EDD cos I don't seem to have any symptoms for labour. My baby is not engaged yet though he is getting lower and I still feel energetic. He seems to be too comfy inside. Going to see the gynae on monday at 39 weeks and pray that the baby will not grow too much.

try walking! I window shopped along orchard rd from 4pm to 10pm nonstop the day before my son came... the whole time, i only stopped to visit the toilet! after dinner at 1030pm, my water bag started leaking and regular contractions started...
i decided to go walk all day that day cos doc already recommend induction if i didn't pop soon due to deterioration of placenta... looks like the walking helped!

erowen, snoopy told me that she and vone walked some distance the day before she popped oso. They went to taka then robinsons and mothercare at centrepoint. next thing we know, vone popped the following day. heheh
so u have an excuse to bug ur hb to bring u on shopping spree this weekend!
