(2003) Calling all 2003 babies

hi hi

I've pm my blog to those who have asked. let me know who I've missed out.
pm your blogs if you have too, ok?

Lena, would love to read about your storyland. pm me too. I've bought a set of encyclopaedia earlier this year. It's A Child First Library of Learning. I got it from KL instead as it costs couple of hundreds cheaper but still quite an investment. It's based on questions which your child might ask, with more illustrations and few words. I think if I have not invested in this, I'll look for good non-fiction books instead (which I'll strongly recommend looking under Home Library). I also saw quite a number of good non-fiction books in our NLB; the children library near my place has really good and new books recently.

Serenade, yes ... heard of Little Wonders but do not remember much of it... is that Montessori? There are 2 montessori schools around there of which one I've heard is not good. Have you heard of Faith Montessori. It was in Bukit Timah but move to Hillview area (chu lin) this july. This was the one which I nearly send ben to.

I've got a big bookshelf earlier this year. It's at $99 (excld delivery charges) and 3 columns x 4 rows. I've filled it up to the brim and 1/2 of those are not ben's books. Ben only have the usual 1 x 3 row book casement where he can reach for his books. I made this myself last year out of hard cardboard paper but it's starting to tear. hm, you can see the small bookshelf behind ....

.ky.

hi ky!

did you make the white display shelf out of cardboard paper? now, you make me think that i should do carpentry in order to be a good SAHM, just kiddin' ;)

Anyhow, the white display shelf is a brilliant idea. In this way, current favourite titles can always be displayed... or you can display things that you want your children to read... you're smart!

I see Ben likes Spot too.

Can we visit your library one day?

Hi Serenade!

Looking forward to your new blog address.
happy.gif

Have also been busy these few days (parents are leaving, husband's travelling, kristin's probably teething, running a mild fever, me- time of the month etc... what perfect timing!)so the train ride account will have to wait.

My parents are leaving for SG tonight and am prepared for a big meltdown at the airport tonight. Bryan's been telling my mom about how much he loves her and would like her to continue to live with us.

Hey K's mom
You take care, rest well.
Here's my bookcase, our 1st, used to pile the books on the sofa, messy messy, now neat n tidy.
Bought from ikea at $99, we love it.

Has Bryan read Uncle Willy and the Pirates?

579024.jpg

hi ky
Your DIY bookshelf doesn't look cardboard, looks pretty sturdy from the pix, great job, handywoman!
thks for suggestion on encyclopedia, hard decision, shall wait and see if hub gets a windfall haha

Moshi2,

I got 4 copies for USD6.95 from Scholastic, 32 pages each. It's a book club order through the school. Quite a great deal, isn't it? Maybe you can check with ky if Ben's school is gonna do another book club order with Scholastic again. Scholastic offer a wide range of books. You can also find non-fiction titles too.

I ordered a huge box of books which I have stocked up and only take out a few copies at a time so that Bryan will get some new books now and then. Do you "ration" your new books for Mel too? I need to vary it a bit here and there. Sometimes we spend time in the afternoon in the school library picking out books to borrow. I guess I need to ration a bit for a change coz it's not easy to get ENglish books here.

I like that Ikea bookcase too. There are boxes that can be slot into the shelves, right? So more storage ideas later
happy.gif
ALso the shelves are low and open, easy for Mel to access her books. Very nice!

Wow... looks like we can have a home library tour soon. Bryan's got those little first words board books in a red bag too. Now they are Kristin's favourites.

So MH also has 2 kids in 03 and 05. Looks like it's really common to have a 2-year gap.

Can those of you with blogs pm me too? I'm still in the old-fashion way of writing journals though I've not been keeping up with it. The least I try to do is to write a letter to each of my kids at the end of each year.

So far, the thread here has centred on things we do for our kids. Does anyone do anything for yourself eg keeping up with a hobby? My hubby just reminded me to spend some time doing something for myself instead of being obsessed with the kids. Indeed, be it shopping, going to the library or surfing the net, I can't help but head straight to the children's section. Am I the only one here with this problem?

Hi Lena,

I am back on Sun !!! We enjoy oursleves in Genting and esp Aston in the theme park. Just imagine he ride the mini car roller coaster for umpteen times. I suspect he rode more than 30 times ! We also shop in KL in Mid Valley MegaMall and bot some clothes and ha ha. .I bot Curious George VCD from toysrus that cost me RM$19.90 and I tink it's a bit cheaper than in Spore. Overall VCD are cheaper in Msia.

Hi Lena,

I have encyclopedia from Grolier and prob you did not see them when you were at my place the last time. They are simple, easy to understand information and I read to Aston sometimes as part of reading programs.
Oh, I love your IKEA bookcase..will consider buy it from Tampines outlet which will be open in end Nov..I am so excited..cos u know I pass by there every time I travel back to my parents place for dinner.

hi Lena ... I wish to know where to go cherry picking too. Someone told me there's a good place to view planes landings but I've yet to go to that end of the island. very nice, the bookshelf. And it's versatile too, coz can go the vertical way right? I can't afford the space for it though :<

For magic schoolbus, I'm putting that on hold now. An advice from a fren is borrow or steal a book to try on your kid first to see his interest. I somehow find magic schoolbus is more suitable when the kid is 5 yrs old onwards. The next release of scholastic bookclub book orders from Ben's school is in Jan; let see what titles they have then. The title in last order is "The Magic School Bus takes a Moonwalk" and it's at $4.

re the DIY bookshelf, it's really out of cardboard, I've just cut up sterofoams within to layer each level so that book can be supported at that level.

kristins_mom, ben has diff favs at different times. Spot was when he was younger ... sometimes he'll still pull that out for us to read to him. I also ration the books one or two at a time(new books go into a storage)

Meilan, MH's girls are 3 yrs apart, like mine. Her #2 is born in the same month as my #2. I wanted to have a 2-yr gap but sometimes wishes don't come true :-/ ... reg hobbies, a single fren recently told us something like that too; that we should not bombard our life with our kids. But I can't help it coz I'm like u :> ... and I am happy with that. Probably I can re-pick-up my own life 2 years later ... heehee

.ky.

Hi Mummies,

Not sure if I'm welcome here.. Wish to join in bcoz my daughter is 2003 baby (April 2003) & my son is 2005 baby (May 2005).

Thanks.

Hi AMum
U've been MIA for a while, thought you're still gambling at the casino. just kidding. Hey I kept an article about shopping spots in KL, Seed boutique was mentioned for cheap and nice clothes, did u see any? U know what, we should organise a trip next yr and drop till we drop ;)can consider yah.

Hey Sarah, where are u?

Ladies
Shall we fix a date for dinner and daiso??
I am fine with weekday nights.

Hi Ky
We went to changi point boardwalk, just next to changi beach club, abt 5 min drive from changi village. Not exactly a place for cherry-picking but my friend knew how to spot the tree and we plucked illegally. Most of them were green and
i wrapped them up in tissue for a few days to turn them red. cheap thrill. you can eat the cherries, quite sweet. We also visited Gallop stable at pasir ris park to feed the ponies, mel loves it and i didn't dare feed cos of the yucky horse saliva. but i am sure ben will love it, he can ride the pony too. More on feeding, u can also try hay dairies goat farm at lim chu kang to feed the goats, word of caution, they stink and their smell stays in the milk also.

Hi Meilan
u're right abt having me-time to do me-stuff. and since ur hub was the one who nudged u to relax more, make him baby-sit so u can have some me-time for spa, facial, shopping or whatever u enjoy. (avoid kids department) like u, i get excited over kids' stuff, esp since my kid is a gal, there are so many pretty girly stuff that make me go googoo gaga. a kind of 'occupational hazard' haha Are u joining us for shopping? Date not decided though.

Hi Irene
welcome! Do log on often to this fun thread hosted by interesting mummies.
Coming up is a shopping date for mommies and a christmas party for all. Tune in for updates.

Welcome Irene. I was just checking who have 2 kids here esp if born in 03 and 05 and there are quite a few.

Moshimoshi, quick let us know where exactly can we go cherry-picking at Changi Boardwalk. I've been there a few times but didn't notice any cherries. By the way, have anyone tried the canopy walk at Kent Ridge Park? We enjoyed ourselves there. Though I used a sarong carrier for my younger one, you could actually push a pram for a more relaxing walk.

AMum, welcome back! Glad you had a great time. My in-laws live in Pasir Ris and we have been watching how the warehouse buildings go up super fast. My hubby is so happy I won't be finding reasons to go Alexandra anymore.

ky, actually I'm perfectly happy doing things for my kids too though sometimes I feel the dilemma of using some rare free time to do my own thing or do something related to them again. I have not read anything else but motherhood and children books since my first pregnancy but recently I picked up "The Kite Runner" and re-ignited my love for literature. It felt so good but now I again feel that I don't have time to sniff out another great novel.

Joyeux Noel!
Christmas crafts to enjoy:
http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/christmas/
I like the brown paper socks, can;t wait.

Hi Meilan
From the start of the signboard which says Changi Point Boardwalk, walk on wooden 'trail' till u have to make a right towards cliff walk (if my memory serves me right), there are a couple of cherry trees abt 100/200 metres after the right turn. Next, just have fun spotting the cherries!

moshi2!

discovered another smashing title!

The Animal Boogie by Debbie Harter from Barefoot Books. You can look it up at www.barefootbooks.com

Chanced upon it in the library yesterday and borrowed it home. It's just a song with a CD, but Bryan loves it. Besides, the teachers in school are acting out the animals with the kids this week - what coincidence! So he listens, sings and dances along millions of times... haha! So good that the kids leave mommy alone coz Kristin will imitate the kor-kor.

Thanks for the link to the CNY and Christmas crafts... you are my "crafty" resource!!! Haha!!!

ky,

the Magic School Bus series comes in a lower reading level too. Standard is about the same as the Franklin's series. So it's quite easy to understand.
Maybe you can start by showing him the cartoons on TV, though that might be too difficult to follow for preschoolers.

Hi Irene!

Welcome to our thread!! Do come in often and chat with us.
My babies are like yours too... only a few months later in the year. Bryan was born on Aug4 2003, Kristin on Aug22 2005.
happy.gif

Hi Meilan!

Yeah, you're right about having me-time.
happy.gif
Nowadays me-time is the gym for me, it's a sanctuary coz there are people in there to babysit for me too!
Yeah... come to think of it, I haven't read any novel since Bryan's born... I was busy trying to finish the Alexander series then... Hmmm, maybe I shall go pick up a book again. Something that's not regarding sleeping habits for children or any Gina Ford's routines.
happy.gif

Hi Amum!
Aston must have had loads of fun...
happy.gif
And I hope you are recharged too. So sweet of your husband to come with a surprise like this... Tell him he shouldn't stop right there... Time for a Christmas surprise too! ;)

Gtg... busy... Kris is gonna be down with another round of cold again... This time Bryan's the culprit. I caught him coughing right into her face.

Hi Serenade!

Drop us a one-liner now and then if you're too busy to chat.
happy.gif

I'm restricting myself to only one hour of forum now... got my kitchen timer next to my laptop. Heehee!

Hi Lena,
Well well, this time round is the 1st time I did not, shld say I cannot step into the casino becos we have Aston around us and I need to accompany him while daddy go to casino. Anyway, daddy visit casino only past midnite cos we return to hotel around that time. It was a pleasant surprise from daddy to bring us to Genting and we are still asking him to bring us there again...ha..maybe I shld request for shopping at KL..KL yrend sales starts from Nov26 and the shops are preparing the discounts tags already..
Yap, Seed boutique clothes are nice, I spot two jeans but no size there and I may to JB citisquare buy it one day in Dec..

Hi Kristine's mom,
It's a short trip but we really enjoy so much.. still miss the times there... just imagine he bring me to other further countries, I think I won't wan to come back !

About our date for dinner and daiso, I suggest 27Nov or 29Nov.

Weekends are almost out for me becos I have wedding dinners starting from next weekend til mid Dec and then have to plan for Xmas gathering/parties with friends and families.

For our Xmas gathering, we have to include K'mom..so what shall be best date ? I am not avail on 24Dec and 25Dec which probably some of mummies are also occupied.

Hi K'mon,

I do have a blog for Aston and ha..very shy to show to people now becos there only pics only. I need to buck up and tidy the blog and show out one day..let this be a Xmas project for me !

Welcome Irene! My kids are also two years apart, May 03 & June 05.

Hi Lena,
Childcraft is not really the serious type of encyclopedia. More suitable for preschoolers or lower pri kids. Will send you a few pages for reference.

The shelf looks very sturdy. Moi a Ikea lover too. I bet Mel must be very proud of her new bookshelf.

Hi Amum,
I'm working hard at my blog too
happy.gif
. Aston is so brave to go on the roller coaster. Doubt Brandon will dare to go on it.

Hi ky,
Thanks for the blog addy. Still in the process of reading it. My browser has been giving me problems the last few days. Glad that Keith is doing well.

I'm really amazed by the display shelf! Gosh, it's really well done! Wish I can do something similar too.

Hi Meilan,
Same here. Almost 90% of my waking moments are spent with/on the kids. Might pick up reading again. So far, I have been reading children's books. Think it's time to read some adult books too.

Any recommendations, anyone?

Hi Kristins_mom!
Missing moi, eh? :p Been busy fixing my computer the last few days. Seems like IE 7 is incompatible with a number of my software. Anyhow, it's fixed now.

So how did Bryan take it when your parents left? Will your mom be returning to Germany with you next year?

About the Magic School Bus, Brandon loves the DVDs. Kept requesting to watch them over and over again till I kept them away. Guess it's time to showcase them again.

Restricting your forum time? How could you be so "cruel" and deprive me the pleasure of reading your postings? Your chirpy tone always cheer me up somehow... How abt 2 hours instead?
happy.gif

Hope Kristin is getting better. Nowadays, I brace myself for both to fall sick at the same time. Tough job, isn't it?

Animal Boogie is stunning, isn't it? We All Go Travelling By is both my kids' favourite too. But they don't like Creepy Crawly Calypso. Think I'll reintroduce it again.

Hi Lena,
The Mathstart series - http://www.thehomelibraryonline.com/?page=shop/browse&category_id=261&CLSN_2260=11637156282260bb6c7d015e37ff5ce9 Vaguely remembered that you were interested in them.

BlurPooh,
Are you still interested in airplanes books? Try these http://www.thehomelibraryonline.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=661&CLSN_2260=11637156282260bb6c7d015e37ff5ce9

Kristins_mom,
Last week, I posed the question "what do you want to be?" Guess what Brandon's reply? "I want to grow bigger and bigger to an adult, just like daddy and mommy!"
embarrassed.gif

Haha, just reread the one on flying away. Very alert boy! Does Bryan believe in Santa Claus? Brandon does. And since he saw Santa Claus alighting from a helicopter last year, he thinks that Santa Claus travels in one!
lol.gif

Wow.. after reading all the past posts.. I really feel I benefited alot ler... u mummies r doing so much for yr kids that I feel ashamed of myself.. think I really got to "buck" up !

Hi Seranade,

The roller coaster is very very low coaster so it's safe for children under height limit 1.05cm.
There are 12 different transporation like ice cream car, truck, jeep, train, digger, fire engine, ambulance...

Thanks Moshi. Gonna check it out the next time we are there! Also thanks for the link to the X'mas crafts. It stirred up my interest to do arts n crafts
happy.gif

Serenade, check out "The Kite Runner" if you are into novels. It's a very touching book abt betrayal and redemption with Afghanistan as the background. Read its review here http://www.amazon.com/Kite-Runner-Khaled-Hosseini/dp/1594480001.

On Daiso & dinner, I won't be able to join on a wkday night. Can only go out on wkday afternoons before Dec as my hands will be full once JK stops childcare in Dec.

Kristin's mom, gd for you that you still manage to do some exercise. I think overseas gyms are more mum-friendly cos my friend in Australia told me that she could go gym cos they have baby-sitting service too.

Mommies!
This morning, we went on board the Doulos, a christain missionary ship that runs a floating bookstore. The vessel docked at the harbour front a few days ago, i believe some of u have read abt it in Life. Got a few good bargains, Spot books and some others as X'mas gifts and just buying cheap books alone set us back by $70. Didn;t do the ship tour as it was getting hot. Go early this weekend, and try to hit the bookstore at 10am when it opens, otherwise can be warm and stuffy. Till this Sun.

Over at Viviocity, we checked out the Gap store and the whole place smelled of thinner, no wonder the service crew looked grumpy, how to give a smile when u are breathing in poison?

Hi Serenade
Thanks for the links.

Hi Meilan
Tell me more abt Kent ridge walk.

About books,
Berenstain bears has Meet Santa, it touches on making a presents list, donating to needy and meeting santa claus at the mall and the spirit of giving. Read it to ur kids if they think that x'mas is just abt getting presents.

Have a super dee duper weekend!
kao_kiss.gif

Hi Moshi2!

Remembered vaguely that you did a time-table with Mel before.

What do you do exactly? Cut out pictures for her to stick into the time-slots?
Maybe you can take a picture and show me. Am thinking of making one with Bryan next week (Thu/Fri) when the school breaks for Thanksgiving.

How long is the Doulos gonna be in SG? Any chance of us catching it?

Yeah... am thinking of getting an set of encyclopedia too. I think one that serves up to primary level should be good enough since the kids should be able to do an internet search on their own once they are in the upper primary/secondary level. Let me know if you find an interesting one.
happy.gif

Maybe we can go book shopping together when we're back.

Hi ladies,
I'm back. A stressful week for me. Daddy had cancer relapse...nothing much can do coz he refused treatment.

Irene,
Welcome! No need to feel ashamed not doing much for your kids, coz I'm not doing much either...they are learning in everyday life, so never know when and how they can surprise you. But I do agree our mommy friends definitely motivates us to do more...

I think another mommy, BlurPooh, whose kids same age.

Moshi,
Hmm, cherry picking, how interesting. My next family outing when daddy's back. Hey, I didn't dare to put the food on my palm and feed the ponies and goats too. Yucks! Did Mel ride the pony? It was long queue and we didn't want to wait...Hay Dairies is interesting, and yes, the goat milk sucks!

Seems like you had a good buy in Doulos. Anything else interesting? Was telling myself to visit the ship too but totally forgot. Tks for reminder.

Btw, your Storyland is very impressive.

Meilan,
Oh yes, agreed that we mommies enjoyed sourcing whatever things for our little darlings. Hmm, our everything certainly evolves around them...

I picked up my books a couple of months back. A fan of Amy Tan, now reading 'Saving fish from drowning'. Can only read in the night when she sleeps.

BlurPooh,
Sometime ago, you mentioned sending your kids to Penang. Are they in Penang now? Yourself too?

Serenade,
Pm me your blog when ready.

AMum,
Any photos to share?

As for our D&D, I'm ok with day and evening. If we decide on evening, we have to meet before mid Dec else no caregivers avail - me packing folks to Taiwan to visit sister. Else, you gals go ahead.

What about our Xmas party? Any ideas? BBQ, anyone?

Kristin's_mom,
You going to be in SIN for a mth? Guess you have lots of catching up to do, perhaps you decide when's a better time to meet you.
happy.gif

Hi Amum!

We'll be touching down in SG on Dec 13.

But I reckon the first few days will be busy since we need to get ourselves ready for my brother's wedding. There'll be a wedding rehearsal on Thursday evening... actual church wedding on Sat... and then we're thinking of leaving for M'sia for a holiday at some beach in the midst of monsoon season... whereabout - not sure yet? But see, we're so deprived of the sea/beach here.

But we shall be free after Christmas and before New Year.. and after the New Year, I'll be free too coz my husband's got to work for two weeks at HQ.
happy.gif

So let's meet up... show me where to get good and cheap books and CNY shopping...
happy.gif

Hi Sarah!

was just thinking about you... then I had to go quickly feed Kristin some breakfast so that she would be in a better mood and I can chat abit...

sorry to hear about the relapse. will be praying for your extended family to be strong in this difficult time.

Yeah... like I mentioned to Amum, let's meet up... in case we can't make it between the busy festivities, we can still meet in Jan.
happy.gif

Hi Serenade!!!

Yeah... missing your sound advice and encouraging voice!

My parents left... I'm feeling a bit of relief, e.g. less clearing up to do, leave the mess till I really can't stand it at the end of the day... but am missing those extra eyes to watch my children... e.g. now i have to stop once in a while to see what the children are doing while cooking... actually, not much of change, since I've been doing all those all this while. I do enjoy the privacy at the end of the day too.
happy.gif

In fact when my husband wasn't around, it was good that i could just crash into bed and not having to talk to anyone simply because i had run out of energy...

not a good report from school today... sigh! apparently, bryan's been crying alot when he did something wrong and the teacher tried to explain to him. hmmm, perhaps all the events have led to stress for him. after all he's never left my mom since birth until last tuesday night! although the parting wasn't tearful for him, i think he's still very sad. plus daddy wasn't home right after that... also, there was no bedtime story for him on wed night coz mommy had to put meimei to sleep too... hmmm, could have asked for a better start without grandma, right?

now they both compete for mama's attention...
i'm beginning to feel more relaxed to be out of the house with the kids than being in it with them. at least they get to run around and distracted by the surroundings and not focus so much on my attention...

anyway, weekend's coming... gotta do some emotional repair for both children and hopefully daddy won't be too tired to help mommy out... you know, my husband still doesn't know how to stick the dishes into the dishwasher and operate it nor operate the washing machine after one year!! He just can't be bothered to find out since it's my duty... sometimes, i wish he just had a simple nine-to-five job that doesn't have an VPN to access any emails after working hours. he still has tonnes of reports to write every night...

hi mommies!

anyone tried introducing house rules at home?
if yes, what do you introduce? how many rules and what are the utmost important one? and do your children play by the rules?

lena, thanks for sharing on the doulos ... will be visiting it the weekend since it's until this sunday. I didn't read abt that in life. which day btw it's on? found the website on it http://www.mvdoulos.org/

i can't write much too, coz hubby said i've spent too much time on computer and I think so too ... so cutting down on writing but will still continue to read ....

.ky.

Hi all mommies,

I m back ! feel so touched that all of u still rem and mentioned abt me. T-T happy tears drop. : P yup, pls let me know our D & D date when confirmed.

Hi Serenade,

Yes! Yes ! still interested abt the plane book, will find time to read abt that obline library and decide. really really touched that u still rem ! thx ya.

Hi Irene,

Welcome ! no wori abt not doing enuff, me too not a prefect mum as my elder boy's early years (the first 1 1/2 years) was in Penang alone with the grandparents and me n huby here in singapore working. Only this year then he is with us for good. am try to buck up to be a good mum. but now hv 1 1/2 months of me-time. : )

yup, my boy was born in July 2003 & my girl, May 2005.

Hi K_mum,

your girl's birthday is exactly the same day as mine !! ha, can celebrate b-day together next year... we both a charming Leo and sometime a perfectionist Virgo. ha ha....

Hi Amum,

hmm... u sure enjoyed the trip ! Aston's mei mei coming on the way...... ha ha....

Hi ky,

no wori, me too have been reading quietly but sometime juz can't resist to join in such interesting topic.

Hi Sarah,

I think BBQ for Xmas party is good idea. Where can we have it ?
If we wan to book a chalet, I can ask my cousin who is a police to book for us at Aloha Loyang. Unsure if he can book East Coast UDMC..will check and let everyone knows abt it. I personally prefer Aloha cos it's more spacious. Or anyone who is NTUC member can book NTUC chalet with special rate ?

Hi mummies,

For our D&D evening time,it shld be afterwork hours for working mummies, K ?
Shall we take a vote on our date ?

27Nov

29Nov

1Dec

P/S : I cannot go out in early Dec week cos daddy is working late.

Since D&D is meeting at IMM, I think meeting time shld be around 7pm.

Lena, we can meet in AMK after my work (I work in Lorong Chuan/New Tech Park) and take train (if you are not driving) to Jurong East..

Hi Lena & Ky,
I missed the Doulos today...haiz...I did not know it ended today. I was at the expo penguin book fare and bot some very cheap ladybird books at $2 and some are only $1. I bot some DK paperback maths, timetable, learn abt time, additions, each $3. Adults story books are $5. I hate to know also it's last day and now I missed Doulos !

Hi all mommies,

If D & D is at IMM, I can't mk it coz too far for me.

u gals enjoy..... : )

Hi Amum,

glad to know that u & Aston really enjoyed the trip. : )

Thank you, Kristin's_mom, BlurPooh & Amum. I'm ok, just that it's more tiring and stressful when siblings are overseas. Our family are mentally prepared for the worst when he refused treatment 2yrs ago. Hmm...are we pessimistic or what? Anyway, life goes on.
happy.gif

Oh yes, the penguin booksale was fantastic! I bought 'What makes me me?', 'A life like mine by Unicef' at 10bucks! I think usual price around the range of $40. And encylopedias going at 15bucks!!

I was stucked at the children's section, and didn't have much time to browse the adults section. Just grab few books and go. Have to declare this as booksale of the year!!!

Amum,
You didn't miss much at Doulos. Penguin has better deals and wider range, Doulos has limited children's books, but quite good range of Christian literature.

And yes, the DK workbooks are so worth it! There were lots of books on dinosaurs, birds too. You got any of them?

Hi Kristin's_mom,
Poor Bryan! What abt Kristin? Must be equally cranky too, that's her way of showing 'I miss grandma' since she can't express herself. I'm sure they (esp Bryan) get over it in no time. For all you know, your mom could be the one crying her heart out even though she will see you guys very soon. Is she going to go back with you in Jan? Have good rest too.

Hmm...house rules? Are these considered as house rules??
- mealtimes means not playing with toys, TV, books;
- put toys, books away when you are done;
- put your bowls, cups etc into sink after meals?

Anything that makes you feel like a maid??

Hi Sarah,

About the DK, I bot books on Birds only. The books are very very messy & I did not see dinosaurs.

Hi Mummies,
This coming weekend is Popular Book sales. Sure will attract many parents. I will be going on Sat !

Hi Mummies,

About D&D, how abt change to Plaza Sg ? We can dine there & also shop at DAISO !

The dates tat I listed out are my avail dates..
