(2003) Calling all 2003 babies

Hi Serena, will email you my hp tonite - no access to gmail / yahoo email in office. Sms me yours. Thought I had yours but apparently not.

Hi Apricot, when stuck in peak hour traffic, will prefer out of town. Imagine no erp but less traffic, cheap parking, no lunchtime crowd. Best if work in the west near my house! haahha, so funny - we sometimes go to vivo city for lunch instead. But it's easier to meetup with friends in town and of course retail therapy! yah, golden shoe is cheap & good.

Hello gals
moi back. will share more abt my weekend escapade on blog.

Jpooh n Serenade
great weather when we were there, 18 to 22. no rain, so viv, u can start planning;)
jpooh, found a couple of good restuarants, got the namecards;)

k's mom
how's the planning for NYC coming along? caught a glimpse of the thanksgiving parade on TV, mega event man!

hi moshi, rememeber sometime ago u posted a link abt the Singapore Walk? Have you or anyone gone for it? I've made contact with the company and found that it's really interesting. I may go for a public walk and see if suitable to do a private one? anyone keen to do a public walk for me?

.ky.

hey ky, is it the chinatown/little india walk thing? the one that doesn't need reservation and that u can just turn up at meeting place?

i am keen, let;s see if we can work something out.

Hi moshimoshi,

Don't think can make it. Hubby is having lesson till five in the afternoon.

Anyway I can pass you the tickets?

Dear moshi, Sarah, Jpooh and Serenade ..

sorry I think I may hv to give this T3 a miss. My gal still not recovered from her flu and cough. The doc has prescribe antibiotic and says that it is virus and will spread. So I guess I shd not be passing the germs to you guys in the holiday seasons.

Dear all,

dh has quit his job and will be using PC most of the time at night. This means that I hv less online time, means less active here (hopefully for the time being).

Thanks sarah. I hope she recover soon too. 4 types of medicine everytime, but since i hv to give 8 hours apart (nurse advised), I can only give her the medicine 2 times instead of 3 times as per prescribe. Wonder will it then make her recovery any slower. Haiz.

Dear all,

Are we gog to hv any christmas party ? I don't hv a venue to offer. Anyone keen and able to offer a place ?

I am eager and also would like to hv more time to source for christmas presents for the exchange in the party (shd hv rite? ) so posting early to ask.

Hi moshi,
T3 still on cos left only me, you and Sarah ? I have applied leave.
It's fine with me meet for lunch and what time will it be ? Need to know cos hubby may join. If due to poor response & you think of canceling it, let me know also.

Poor xin, speedy recovery!! and take care sherlyn.

Jan,
Wet playground opened. I was there in the afternoon but as it was raining this morning and sun was glaring by the time we're there. I refused to let them get soaked. We have just recovered from flu and not ready to fight against the virus anytime now. Perhaps next week if weather permitts.

FYI, IMM is charging parking fee with first 3 hours free.

Pris,
We went to quite a number of places in Bangkok but didn't take many pictures as most of the time, I'll be either carrying Benny or Bryan.

If you've been in Bangkok before, you'll probably know that map is available in the airport. And yes, they still do but it's much simplified. If you want a more detailed map, you'll need to buy it at 200Bht per copy. (They're really good in making money.) Luckily I have my old map with me and it's like a salted veggie now.

Hi Sher!

Hope this post will find Xin much better now...

Yucky antibiotics, poor girl!

Oyes, I remember you ask about sleeping in...

What I do is I give the kids milk at about 8+am on Sat morning, and then I let them play with a box of toys that's only allowed on a Sat morning (their cooking toys) in Kristin's room. And there... my dh and I can laze in bed for another 1+ hour until about almost 10am, and then the kids get a snack of cornflakes and milk.

My children are not great eaters... so no food but lots of playing is fine with them anyway.

And with that I keep to that weekday routine too. Coz weekdays they wake up with a bottle of milk and then get their snacks in school at 10am. Lunch will be at 12.15 pm, which is a bit too early for me, personally. That's why my kids never finish their lunch in school.

And last Sat, we skipped the cornflakes breakfast last Sat and went for brunch with the kids instead. Dh and I are not absolutely must have breakfast sorts.

hi moshi2!

nyc's preparation is coming along.
mainly reading up right now and thinking of things i can buy there... hehe! there will be post-holidays sales!
happy.gif

but first we've gotta get ready for prague. will be leaving next wed.

K's mum, think over at your side more holiday for your children. Kai probably has a week off during Christmas.

Sherlyn, Hope Xin have a speedy recovery. For cough and cold, avoid all dairy products, critic fruits, eggs, banana, strawberries, was told by our paed over here and it really work. A couple more that I could not recall.

Joanne, been there once, that was like many many years ago, I doubt it is still the same. Probably ask my bro along since he was there like 2 yr ago.

Serena, I am packing all those in the storeroom, to clear first and to see what we are keeping, those in the house probably the week before we left. And for the time being, there is still alot of uncertainities of where we will be, Singapore, down south or to UK. Anyway, all in God's hand so just have to be patient waiting for the outcome.

Thanks Serenade and Jo. Xin is still the same, coughing quite a fair bit due to the phelgm so I think i cant skip the medication yet. Anyway she really seem to like the medicine, even the antibiotics. hahaha

Thanks Pris and for the info too. Avoid dairy, means avoid milk ... then what they gonna drink? But they are not taking alot of milk, once a day and only 60ml at most.

Thanks K's mom for the info. not sure if my kids able to fit into that routine. My boy, most of the time will say he is hungry and he will wake me up and ask me to prepare breakfast for him (that means not just milk), but at times they can play for a whole hour before asking me up to make them breakfast. So I guess in the morning, they are still rule by their stomach (the rest of the day play takes over, no lunch or dinner also nevermind one). Thats y i cant sleep longer.

K's mom, envy envy. Tour cum shopping trip. :)

I also been to IMM wet playground. Was there 10 plus last week and left by 11 plus. Weather was fine that day, no rain, no hot sun. Maybe the west kids can meet there one of the morning.

ok gota go prepare lunch.

Gals, in case u are wondering, T3 is still on tomorrow. Meet 10am at T3, just turn up;)

on movies,
which do u reckon is more 'fun' for our kids?
Fred Claus or Enchanted?

Progs to boost creativity at the national museum:
www.creativecommunity.sg/creative24

starts this weekend.

k's mom
as if not enough, you are going to prague before NY!!!
can u see me turning green??

No Worries Sherlyn. Do take care!!

Wow K's mom... Prague, my dream...

Moshi2, R said Bee Movie is good, she watched it today.

Hi Pris!

I can imagine the stress... whenever I look at my storeroom, our basement storage, I fear for my life when the packing day comes for me.
Don't you need to pack at least 6 weeks earlier than departure in order to get your shipment in your destination in time? For the European efficieny that we enjoy here, we need at least 6 weeks before we can see our boxes in the new place again.

The children have two weeks of Christmas break. But we are still taking them out of school for another 4 days for the NY trip. But you're right about the holidays part. We do have a plentiful for my own convenience. Since the school is run by the consulate, we observe two sets of PHs, German and American!

HI moshi2 and jpooh!

No need to be envious lah. Actually, dh is there on a planning trip. And we are tagging along. Don't think we'll see much of Prague, other than the hotel we're staying in.

My memory of Prague is so faint now that I can only remember three things: Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock and Palacinke!

Sure hope my kids fall in love with the latter, namely the Czech pancake!

Don't think we're gonna splurge to get Bryan to a musical on Broadway. Besides... the recent producers strike on Broadway... not sure if our show would be affected too. So am hoping for some Christmas release of family movies that I can take Bryan to.

But we're certainly gonna start this weekend here in Frankfurt. Bryan's virgin experience in a movie theatre! My parents are here and they can babysit Kristin and dh and I are gonna take Bryan along for Ratatouille. Yap, a tad too late, but it's still running here on the European chart!

So keep good movies in mind, Moshi2. And don't forget to recommend your friend here some, ok?

HI Sher!

If my kids loved to eat and would clean up the plates if I made them hot breakfast, I would be up on my feet at 6am to cook!

You know for Thanksgiving dinner last week, there were 7 kids, all between 18 months to 6 years. I was there early to help the hostess whip out mashed potatoes.
Nothing difficult to do right? Just tedious that's all. Boiling, peeling then mashing the potatoes. Then I added the right amount of milk and butter and the other moms were like, YUM!
And all the children, except mine, cleaned up their plate of mashed potato!

Why, why, why? Truth is I don't think my cooking skills are ill. My kids are plain poor eaters! So making breakfast for them??? No need lah.

By the way, the idea of letting the kids play a special box of toys is exclusivity. Make sure these toys are so very special that they can only be touched once a week, and only on a Saturday morning when mommy and daddy wanna have a lazy lie-in.
happy.gif
Try it. Hope you and your dh get a lazy lie-in!

*sigh* k's mom, if my kids will clean up the plates i would also gladly be up to make breakie for them, a pity that they don't always do that.

Tedious is the word! I will be esp mad if the meals are tedious work and yet they still not eating.

hmm exclusive toys ... the only exclusive "toy" now is PS2 and that requires parental involvement. Let me find more exclusive toys. hiak hiak hiak. Anyway the lazy lie in is for me, cos no matter how noisy my kids are in the morning, my dh will still be tuck cozily (if there is such word) under the cover.

Did anyone go to ChildAid concert which was on Tue or last night? We went and we enjoyed it a lot. It was a very last min decision to go and we were so happy we did. B sat throughout the entire 2.5 hr session (it overrun by 1 hr) ... and I must say I saw really some talented young kids last night. btw, can anyone tell me why does a drummer have to wear earphones? Pris? the kid wore but his teacher didn't.

btw, if anyone has any good up-and-coming concerts to share ... pls do.

.ky.

Hi Moshi

Abt the Heritage Walk, I called up to find out if the walk would be suitable for a young child ... and they can do customized tour (with story-telling and interactive activities involving the 5 senses). I'm told Little India and Kampong Glam are more suitable for them. I'm going for a public walk to get a first-hand experience first (the customized tour is quite ex), but have no time to look at my schedule yet.

Yakult Factory tour ... I'm joining an existing tour on 14 Dec (2-3.30pm). Anyone else keen to go? Place is at Senoko (near Sembawang / Woodlands MRT).... not many places coz my whole family is going and asking another neighbour. pm me pls.

Sherlyn, I'm ok for X'mas party but seems not much response ... and I don't have much free weekends left ..

.ky.

t3:

gals, we had fun, or rather the kids had fun with what else but unrestrained running hopping skipping on new carpeted floor. Aesthetic of the halls are overated, not a lot to wow wow at, it is a decent terminal i'll just say.

okie, up next, ladies night next tue or wed, details coming soon!

sheryln, now that u have a babysitter, u must join us!

K's mum, you are right, we need at least 6 weeks for the boxes to arrive the time we arrive back home. So this poor mummy has to clear the storeroom first and then the basement storage, too. Giving away lots of Kai's toys, clothings and hopefully do not have much to ship.

KY, they wore earphones to listen to the rhythm of the music.

Hi pris
packing n throwing out things u don't need can be therapeutic ;) else, it's also a form of exercise;)

hi ky
u do the tour first and fill us in. the lil india one does seem good, saw the henna-ed hand on the web, that's probably part of the 5 senses experience;)

ladies nite is still on, either tue or wed.
update again on mon.

happy weekend to all.

Thanks ky and jpooh for the response. Indeed the response to the xmas party is pretty cold hehehe .. so I guess we all know the answer
happy.gif
.

Bet everyone is busy with holidays
happy.gif
.

Wow Apricot, a nice aquarium leh. Wait till i hv my little one up hehe. Kids asking for goldfish again!

Moshi, Sarah has informed me abt the ladies nite. Thanks for keeping me in mind. Will try to join so waiting for the details. Can I hv a little request? Can the venue be somewhere near MRT, like eg raffles city instead of suntec/marina (which requires walking). Save me more time to chat with you girls.

KY & Moshimoshi, about the heritage tour, used to bring students to the ones in Little India and Chinatown. I did not manage to bring them to Kampong Glam.

The little Indian one, they will bring them to the wet market, ZhuJiao Market, then go to look at the Jewellery shops, fortune telling using a bird to tell fortune, go to the Temple, then the spices shop, then the children get to try some indian food. They also give a bit of the history there.

Chinatown one, will be good during Chinese New Year session which they explain the history and tour around the places.

Moshimoshi, yes, it is therapeutic but it can also be stressful when Kai saw his old toys and refuse to give away. So hope to complete that this weekend and then will do the basement storage room and then try to clear stuff in the house.

Sherlyn, you are hardly online now, your dh must be busy with the pc.

Hope to meet up with all of you when I am back.

Hi moshimoshi,
Can we have the mommies night on Tuesday evening? Can't make it on Wednesday cos we are going for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Hi Sherlyn,
I'm interested in the Christmas meetup too. Just let me know when and where. Just a suggestion, instead of having at somebody's place, how abt some public venues?

Hi Priscilla,
I can understand the pain of throwing/giving away toys. Gave away our big toyhouse before we came back. Fortunately, the kids didn't seem to miss it.

Happy packing.

hi, this a sensitive question. I have a close relative which I feel is exhibiting bad behaviour, in terms of her comments and physical behaviour. I've tried to talk to her to improve in her ways but it never worked.

Now that the older one is beginning to understand things better, he's starting to question her behaviour as well as he wonders what I've said to her when I've commented to her in dialect on her inappropriate behaviour.

She doesn't come visit often. In fact, I've to go fetch her here. I do not know how to manage the entire matter. What would you do if you are me?

.ky.

hi jpooh
the trip was good and not so good, tips on blog ;)
u must be looking forward to yours!

Ladies Night:
Tue, 4 Dec.
Venue: Along the tracks, TBA.

I think this will be romantic,
The Jewel Box at Mt Faber
www.mountfaber.com.sg

west mommies, your man will have no reason not to take u there! dinner at hilltop cottage romance??

Hi Pris ... tx for the info on the earphones.. just wondering why he's on but not his teacher. perhaps he was doing the main segment? btw, wouldn't the loud music be bad for his ears? On the Heritage Walk, yes, I got a similar outline given to me. Will only be doing in Jan or Feb as this is really a busy month for us.

Moshi, enjoy yourselves ... as usual, I don't have that luxury of going downtown for dinner, let alone a Tue night.

.ky.

Hi Pris, ya my dh uses PC almost daily at nite besides weekends where i also lazy to touch PC hahaha.

Serenade, meeting outside sounds nice, but I really had no idea where to since i hv 2 active kids. Will be nice to let the kids see christmas lightings.

Moshi, my man is not romantic .. esp got to spend alot of $$. He very thrifty one.

ky,

i m not sure what i do is right or not. I will just tell my boy the fact that what the adult did is not correct. I will also tell him that I already told the adult that that is not right and the adult did not listen, which is also not correct.
