Hi lenevier congrats to u too! Is this ur 1st pregnancy? I feel so lost cos this is my 1st preg haha. Is ur twins identical or fraternal? :)

Thx you, no this is my 3rd pregnancy but 1st twin. Mine KKH mention is a monochronic twin which share one placenta but they didn't mention is identical or not!
 
Wow 3rd pregnancy! Congrats! I'm so worried cos my gynae kept telling me must be careful cos of my petite size, he's afraid of pre-term which makes me super scared haha. SO i just keep eating and eating
 
Hahhh thx! When you know you baby gender? I now only going 13weeks ,morning sickness so terrible: ( where do you follow up?
 
I only found out at my 18weeks visit and confirmed it at my 20 weeks visit haha. Don't worry ur morning sickness will go away in few more weeks! :)
I follow up at thomson medical dr Loh SF. I heard he got more experience with twins but sometimes when he has good mood, he talks alot and when he's not in good mood he never talk much o_O
 
O okok hahah i will be seeing kkh twins clinic at my 16weeks plus to do a scan but dunno can noe the gender anot! I keep having acid reflect and nausea recently backache starting
 
I think by then will roughly know the gender already haha, feeling excited? But gender not impt most impt is they are healthy :)
Avoid spicy and oily food and try to take small meals to avoid nausea. Ya i also having backaches and kept slouching like old granny hahaaha

Not yet. I heard there's one very good and cheap i will try to get the contact from my friend heeehee.
Think gonna start searching for confinement lady also and heard they are not cheap!

Sugarbunny, hello! I am in my 19th week now. My gynae (Dr Ben Tham, TMC) has prescribed me Duphaston 3x daily for pre-term prevention.

Lenevier, any lobang for Malay massage lady?? I also looking!

Update u girls the malay massage lady's contact, heard my friend say alot ppl from forums say she's good and price reasonable.

My edd is 7th May but doc say so long after April's fool will be safe le. I'm aiming for at least 36 weeks!

Mine born already.. Just came in here to support if any mummies need advice. I suppose triplets more complicated than twins but same set of problems - just intensified.
 
Oicic haha congrats! U delivered to ur triplets at how many weeks?
I was in my dh car just now and he suddenly braked the car. I'm quite worried the impact will cause harm to my babies :(

Applebits, wow triplets! You must be huge! How was it like having triplets?

I remember I was scanned having triplets at 6 weeks, but one didn't make it so end up with my twins. I was huge just with my twins. You must be even bigger! :) how old are your triplets now?

I see. That looks good but to be honest not a necessity. I put my first set of twins in the same cot since birth till about 6months old when they are too long for the width of the cot. I intend to do the same for my 2nd pair of twins too.

Hi lenevier, I am 8 weeks now. Merlion everyday and feeling nausea throughout the day is terrible. I end up skipping dinner most days as really no appetite and can't keep anything down. Even milo is a no no.

Feel really depressing.

I put my twins in the same cot and they slept side by side for 6-7months until their length is too long and they can kick the cot. I intend to do the same this time round too and graduate my twins to toddler beds so I can use the cots again. Lol
 
Ariadne, this is your 2nd pair of twins? So cool! Ya maybe next mth i gonna start searching for baby cots or playpens le, before tummy gets too big! Nowadays i walk few steps i get very tired already
I guess every pregnancy is different, when i was in my 1st trimester, i don't really have any nausea problems unless i take cabs then i will throw up. But i have bleeding and spotting throughout till week 15. So i was feeling very depressed and kept googling for assurances. Now i feel better in my 2nd trimester but at times i start to worry this and that as well. Am i the only one feeling this way?
 
Hi girls this is what i found
  • Eat plain and dry before you get out of bed in the morning.
    Avoid eating spicy or greasy food as these can cause heartburn and the smell of these foods can cause nausea.
    If you experience cravings, follow them - they'll rarely cause you tummy trouble.
  • Eat protein often - try snacks of nuts, eggs, beans and low fat meat.
  • Eat small and often - having something in you stomach at all times may alleviate your morning sickness so try to eat every hour or two.
  • If you're having trouble keeping food down at mealtimes, try eating something salty before the meal - this seems to help food ‘stick'.
  • Don't drink while you eat. Try to drink clear liquids (water, soda water or mineral water are great) between meals - electrolyte and fizzy drinks can be particularly helpful.
  • Avoid possible dehydration by drinking small amounts of fluid often.
  • Don't miss meals.
  • If you're experiencing nausea associated with food smells, try eating cold foods as they tend to be less smelly.
  • Eat and drink slowly.
  • While different foods have different effects of morning sickness sufferers, almost everyone agrees that garlic, onion, and acidic fruits and vegetables will cause trouble.
 
Congrats to all mummies who r expecting twins! I missed my twins pregnancy... Delivered mine earlier this year..

Lenevier, wow it's your 3rd pregnancy.. How old r your #1 n #2? My gynae very confidently told me mine are identical twins when she saw 1 placenta shared but both bb.

I'm petite too, my gynae was oso very worried that I will deliver too early. Re mini playpen, same as ariadne, my twins oso shared 1 cot, until abt 3-4 mths when their legs keep hitting the cot railing so we separate them into 2 cots.

Lenevier, thanks. having 2 kids n pregnant w twins must be very tiring on u. i have 1 older kid and was already very tired. Ya mine also called mc twins. Mine was emergency csect cos I delivered at 34 weeks due to contractions, one of them is in breech.

Hi Ariadne my triplets are now 4 months but corrected age 6 weeks. Believe me, the first trimester my gynae was hoping my cm set would disappear like yours.. Cos triples is risk multiplied by the power of 3.
 
To all mummies delivering at KKH, I had my personal bad experience with KKH, firstly, they don't like high risk pregnancies and spent many weeks after my 16th persuading me to do a partial reduction. And following that a whole host of frustrating situations. I started out with a whole lot of confidence with KKH till now hating the hospital. They transferred me out one night before my scheduled csec cos they hv no beds in NICU. Fortunately they did cos after 6 weeks hospitalized there I delivered in SGH and experienced what's called heaven after hell. SGH was fantastic in every way...

Welcome lenevier, sugarbunny, applebits and congratulations to all of you who have just joined this forum!! And to the rest of MOMs and MTBs here, I am officially a Mom to my current girl/girl fraternal twins from 19 December 2013 at 31weeks pregnancy. It happens to quickly and when I read back the post here, I am now related to all of the lives we shared here as Twins Moms. Triplets not yet, Heheh. Awesome applebits for being a power mommy to 3 of your precious. Proud to know you're here with us supporting this forum.

I have experienced the emergency delivery suite entry which NUH almost had me transfer to another hospital due to their NICU is fully occupied (Thanked God, I was already dilated to push). A natural untear vaginal birth for my 1st twin (Maryam) and an emergency cesarean for my 2nd twin (Fatima). Comfortably at home and on my bed, my waterbag flows like a tap from 9am - 930am, thinking it was just a leak so that my baby's sac still have chance to reseal but NO, it was time to go labor with 5mins gap contractions from 12noon onwards. It was painless as I only felt like a period cramp at my lower back till the pressure feeling of pushing gets intense. It was a hectic journey once I reached in the delivery suite due to different opinions of doctors wanting to stop my contractions which on later discussion, it was too late because it happened to quickly. I was 3cm dilate and within short mins, It jump up to 10cm dilate. I can literally feel my precious having me pushing her out. Sadly, without my concern in the earlier stage of labor, I received an injection to numb my bottom area which disable me to feel my contraction after my 1st twin was born. Nevertheless, I tried to push my 2nd out without feeling those contraction till they had her waterbag burst manually. Here comes another different opinions whereby Fatima heart beat was still stable, sac + placenta was still intact but yet some doctors do not allow the situation to rest. Having my 2nd twin manual waterbag burst was a risk and truly it was. Found out her head and 1 side of her hand + shoulder wanting to exit together and it was risky for pre term babies because they are still so frigile. Afraid that natural birth for me will fracture her shoulder. Poor Fatima. So emergency cesarean is necessary at this point.

The next thing I know, I was awake and my babies are safely delivered. Thanked God. I would really advise MTBs to register with your hospital as early at 29weeks as Twins have higher chance of early labor. It happened to me eventhough I had a healthy pregnancy. And it wasn't pleasant when different specialist doctors had to ask all those repeated question - when and what happened. Or what ward you like to opt for. And I ended shouting to ask them to stop asking because I was having pressurised contraction. Get your emergency hospital bags ready. Look out for signs of swollen feets and aches at 1-sided of your buttock. See your doctors if you need pill to prevents from early contraction because honestly, don't end up like me. Babies are now in NICU, I miss them everyday and I cried everyday from missing them so much. I rather have them in me then being in the hospital. I am now currently expressing as much of my breastmilk for their speed growth. Discharge requirements for pre term babies are to reach at least 34-35weeks with weighing at 2kg.

Here's my precious recent pictures of having them to finally carried and place on my chest - they called it as Kangaroo Care.

Both born weighing at 1.73kg and both cried after delivered - those are signs of lungs has been developed. (So eat oatmeal ok, hehe. It helps. Majority of 30weeks weight 900g as shared by my doctor experience). Current weight drop to 1.53kg which is normal to have after birth weight lost and feeding have increases up to 10ml. Seek for your prayers. I can't wait for them to get home ASAP. <3

yup early labour is very common.. i had my boys at week 29+4 and they are currently week 34+3 and doing good though still in the weight gaining period in hospital plus learning bottle feeding too before they are allowed to discharged hee

Hahha thanks Kmei! "Moo'ing" is such a cute term. I am so going to get use to moo'ing day and night. I can't wait for direct latching in days to come, praying..

Hi pinkberries
I heard that mc twins is more complications then normal twins! Ya reali tired esp my younger one are boy and more naughty plus super active! I have so much worried about this twins as there were more complications
 


Thanks ladies for sharing all ur stories and experiences. Really nice to see so many twins mommies here heehee. May I know when did u all start bedrest? And recently I kept going shopping for babies stuffs but get very tired after just walking for one hr. I'm 21weeks currently.
