September School Holidays 2020: Home and Away Fun for Everyone (+ a Giveaway!)
With the MOE school calendar all topsy-turvy this year, you would be forgiven for losing track of the dates. But the kids surely haven’t forgotten that the September school hols are coming up! From 5 to 13 September, to be precise. Thankfully, we are able to get out a little more as compared to back in June, but do take the usual precautions, continue to social distance, and avoid crowds where possible. For those who would rather remain cautious and keep the kids home, don’t worry. There are September school holidays 2020 activities to suit every preference!

1. Play Kopi King
Origame, the makers of table-grabbing, food-snatching game Chope!, is back with a new game celebrating our staple beverages. Again fully designed and illustrated by Singaporeans, Kopi King is a fast and fun card game that recently gained traction on Instagram with parents of young children. Children aged 7 to 11 years will explore architecture through three mornings of hands-on fun and artful play activities. 4. Indian Heritage Centre CultureFest 2020
From 5 to 20 September, the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) presents the first digital edition of IHC CultureFest. Join in celebrating the diversity of Indian arts, culture, and heritage in Singapore through the epic Ramayana. There’ll be colourful cultural performances and art installations to explore. You and the kids can also take part in workshops, storytelling sessions, and cooking demonstrations. More details

5. TLC Children’s Festival
The Little Company by the Singapore Repertory Theatre presents a month of activities to entertain, inspire, and nurture growing minds. Explore virtual playground and participate in games, activities, talks, and workshops. Then catch four exciting performances via SISTIC Livestream at $20 each or $50 for all. 6. Singapore Philatelic Museum’s Virtual Exhibitions
Have you heard? The Singapore Philatelic Museum is undergoing a major renovation and will reopen in 2021 as a child-centric museum. In the meantime, you can explore its past exhibitions from home. The kids in particular will love the special exhibitions featuring The Little Prince, DC Superheroes, Harry Potter, All About Dogs, and more. 8. Saturdays@ACM: Style for Every Story
The Asian Civilisations Museum’s monthly flagship family fun programme, Saturdays@ACM returns…online. From 29 August to 25 September, discover different styles of traditional outfits based on the museum’s collection. Download the templates provided and follow a video tutorial to create outfits for a paper doll. Then listen to The Emperor’s New Clothes in an audio storytelling. More details

ArtScience Museum’s on-site film screenings are back! From now till 11 September, catch a series of four international short films featuring young inventors and their extraordinary creations. Film screenings take place every hour from 10am to 7pm (last screening at 6pm) daily in the museum’s Rainbow Room.
