Run 350 by NTUC Income: What You Need to Know
Heard of the global 350 movement? Its purpose is to raise awareness of the urgent need to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350ppm. Why? That is the level which scientists believe is ideal for a inhabitable planet. What’s the current level of carbon dioxide in our Earth’s atmosphere? 400ppm. That’s over the healthy limit, and thus calls for action on the part of all of Earth’s inhabitants to make our planet liveable for everyone in the long run! That includes YOU! Do you and your family pride yourselves on being eco-friendly? Well, this might just be the run for you then!
Run 350 will be held on 10 April 2016 at the F1 Pit Building. The categories are the 21.1km half marathon, 10km competitive race and the 800 metres Kids Dash. Freshly introduced in 2016 is the non-competitive category, Fun on Wheels! The new inclusion is due to the organiser’s aim of spreading awareness that everyone can do their part to reduce carbon emissions. This includes opting for environmentally-friendly transport modes. Hence, participants in this category will be cycling, in-line skating or kick-scooting their way through the 4 kilometre-long route!

If you want to reduce your carbon footprint further, feel free to cycle to the venue! There will be approximately 200 bicycle racks provided for you to secure your set of wheels.
The shuttle bus services will ferry you from various MRT stations to the race village. Tickets are priced at $6 and are on sale from now till 3 April 2016, 23:59. Click here for a list of pick-up points.
