Hi Ladies,
Need some advice here! :) A newbie (in 1st Trimester) to pregnancy.
I reside in USA. Perhaps its the hormones kicking in, I really miss home (Singapore). The food, my family, my friends, the shopping mall, etc!
But USA doctors are kiasu. They advised not to visit Singapore because of zika virus.

What do you think? Is it really that scary? What preventative measures have you taken?

Hi dear, no it's not that scary, its ok. The Zika scare has died down here now.

Personally, for me, I was pregnant during the height of the Zika Scare. I didn't bother with long pants long sleeves etc or insect repellant etc. Many other mummies though did apply repellant or protect themselves and their kids. It's up to the individual.
Besides, the doctors here will keep a good check on you too. You can set your mind at ease.

Hey dear, Zika are by location and I praise NEA for always keeping residents up to date with hotspot area. So I reduce going to hotspot area and ensure myself and my neighbour keeps things clear of water retention.
To tell you not to be afraid is tough because we worry too, especially when we are preg now.
But trust me. Risk are pretty low. And once detected, they really take care of you well :)

Hello mommies! Just chanced upon this thread and thought I should share this piece of info. The mummy who was infected with Zika last year is from my church. A few weeks ago, she shared her thanksgiving testimony that her twin sons are doing well and developing normally. :)
