Trying to Conceive 2019

Hi, I’m new here. Trying to conceive at the end of the year. Would like to go to the gynae for a check up first. Can anyone recommend me a gynae for pre pregnancy checkup?
I’m considering dr paul tseng, can anyone advise how is his charges? Thanks
Paul Tseng is good and skillful. I am with him. His regular consultation start from $130 onwards

Hi all,

I have missed my period for 2 weeks and my last period was on 23/9/2019. I used pregnancy test on 4/11/19 but tested negative. Could it be too early to test? My period is always quite regular and this is the first time being so late. I have ttc for 4 years till now and I don't wish to have another disappointment again. What should I do? Should I make appt with gynea to check or wait for another week???
Hi Wantabb.. I suggest to wait for another week.. Have you tested?

Hi I am interested to join the support group too please.

Aside from that, I started my 3rd round of letrozole ytd and my period have stopped completely. This is the first time that my period stopped after I start the medication. Anyone know if it's normal?

Hi Fadana, unfortunately, my menses come today =(
Guess my period is late due to stress at work.
Hi Wantabb..*hugz* Sorry to hear that..But do not give up..Keep trying and try not to be too stress as it will affect ttc as well :) ill be going 1st IUI next month.. My cycle is 37 days, docter prescribe Letrozole for 5 days and day 12 check follicle size and lining 1st.. If all ok trigger shot and next day IUI.. Best if luck to all of us!!!

Hi All,

Please add me to the ttc whatsapp group as well. Some info of myself below.

Had a #1 2yrs back and i thought there should be no problem ttc for #2. However for the past 1 yr, i had mc twice; biochemical pregnancy and blighted ovum. Till date, still unsuccessful.

Went to a fertility doc just 1 month back and was dignosed with PCO not PCOS and now on metformin and other vitamins but af striked again. Going for 2nd consultation this Wednesday.

Anyone had the same encounter?

Thanks.

Hi Teddybear123, may I know which doctor diagnored you with PCO? I also had the same encounter last week... He prescribed metformin and clomid. I read that there are side effects to both, but clomid has more serious side effects than metformin.
I went to see another gynae who told me metformin is relatively harmless so I can take it. But she told me not to take clomid first and try a few more months. She says she needs to do progesterone blood test to advise further.
I went to see a third gynae who told me clomid is more effective than metformin, and that he does not recommend metformin; he said might as well just take clomid straightaway... He said doesn't matter whether I have PCO or PCOS or none. Should just tackle upcoming issues and look forward.
Seems like different doctors have different thinking and approach............

I went to Dr Charles Lim too - he was the doctor who prescribed me both metformin and clomid. Did he prescribe you with clomid too? Or only metformin? I did my progesterone blood test with Dr Lim May Li - she was the doctor who told me just try with metformin for next few months first and don’t take clomid first if I am not in a real rush. My progesterone blood test showed that I did ovulate, so she said just take metformin to regulate my periods (mine are quite long) but don’t need clomid as I am ovulating... I decided to follow this regime first as I am not in a real rush yet. And I’ve also heard/ read about clomid side effects so a bit wary of it for now... Hope this helps :)

He prescribed letrozole and duinum to me. Are they clomid? I was with him for 3 cycles and thinking to change next round to seek 2md opinion. Metformin no effect on me. Eat or no eat my cycle length still the same. I just stopped metformin today. I have been eating for the past 3 months from 1 tablet to 2 tablets.

I was with him for 6 months, tried plan A and 2 times plan B SO IUI, all failed. Doing IVF else where now.
I was also prescribed clomid/ duinum + gonal F for 3 cycles and letrozole + gonal F /Menopur for 3 cycles...

Was also asked to take metformin for PCOS though I chose not to. My current doctor also said my PCOS is quite apparent (lots of follicles) though he said no need to take metformin

Duinum is clomid. Letrozole is the medicine given if duinum doesn’t work based on what I heard from Dr Charles Lim. I’ve been eating 1 tablet metformin for the past half month. Not sure if any effect yet as just started it. Maybe you can consider seeing Dr Tan Heng Hao for second opinion. He’s highly recommended by others on these forums. I went to see him once and also find him very reassuring and knowledgeable- he told me metformin not very useful and clomid more helpful. I will go back to him if metformin doesn’t work for me after a few months :)

Thought of trying TCM.

Hi Hazelnut,

I'm sorry to hear that. Though I haven't experienced such, I really urge you to see your doctor or even have second opinion on it just to make sure. I heard Dr Ann Tan is amazing, check her out. Hope this helps. Take care!
