Hi, I am a new SAHM mom as my child just started P1 this year. Other then being new as a SAHM, I am pretty new to cooking too. Planning daily menu and googling recipes online is such a pain where I am having the thought of giving up cooking. Are there any SAHM facing the same troubles? I would love to have a group of mummies sharing ideas and recipes!

I'm not a SAHM but I kind of cook everyday for my son. Most important thing is to have soup stock. Every time I cook soup, I will save the remainder for the next two days. If it's easy one dish meal, I will just boil macaroni/ kway teow/ noodles, chopped vegetables and minced meat/ fish then heat up the soup and pour over it. I usually boil the macaroni/ kway teow/ noodles separately as they tend to turn the water white and cause the soup to taste strange. Other easy meals preparation will be hard boiled egg/ airfry salmon in airfryer (just 10 minutes 180C)/ Panfry egg. Sometimes I just give an omelette with mixed vegetables inside. When I have more time to cook for both adults and boy, it will be fried rice/ pasta/ stews with a side dish e.g. omelette/ meatballs. Recently my son has become very picky... I'm trying out new ways to make him eat. One thing which I have been doing is also to make more and freeze the rest e.g. meatballs. It's easy to just airfry it in 15 mins and can become a meal with the noodles or rice.

Thanks for your advices! Yes, my boy is super picky too, he does not take any vegetables except for beansprouts. What kind of meatball, mind sharing the recipe? You freeze all kinds of soup?

Hi I don't freeze my soups because I would finish using it in two days. If you intend to keep for longer, better to freeze it! For meatballs, I just use minced meat, add an egg, some breadcrumbs, onion powder or chopped onions, pepper, salt (can add other things e.g. mushroom seasoning/ chopped mushrooms), mix and shape into balls (I use the rice ball maker from daiso for even roundness). Airfryer takes about 15 mins 180C, it will take longer in the oven. If you want to make into mini burgers, just press the balls flat, airfry and put between mini b
