My gal started from 8ml
The time she is hm
She only drank
40ml
Was told them to add 5ml weekly

I only bought hosp plan n one junior protection plan for my gal
Maybe u can check with the company wat is their policy t&c

My pd calculated her corrected age by the edd
Coz though my gal nw is 9mth
But actual is only 6+ mth
The growth have to follow their actual age
Cannot follow the 9mth growth

Would love to join the fb Grp

Actual depends on how much Ur BB can take
But dun increase too much

My gal had mild colic n reflux at the same time
Like a merlion daily when she came bk for the first 4mth
Everyday change n clean her till I got so stress up

Hi Lye Zhen Xi, hope your baby is doing well.. Give him your moral support! Most importantly u must be strong and be positive! Now you have to concentrate on expressing your bm for your baby.. Stock up your supply..

Hihi, glad I came across this thread. My twins were born at 34 weeks plus. Although they were of gd weight they stayed in sgh for 2 weeks plus. My gal was born 1990g n had jaundice prob which went up n down. My boy was born 2475g however his lungs was not mature n he needed oxygen. He also had a prob called PDA then followed by bleeding in tummy n infection... so he stayed in nicu for 10 days n high dependency for 8 days. Both have been home for nearly a week now. So far ok but I notice that they breathe very fast when sleeping. Is that normal? It has been quite tiring coz the breastmilk supply cannot really keep up with 2 of them. May I know wat brand of formula is more suitable for preemies?

Btw, I would like to join the fb group too if it's ok.
 
Hi all

My DS has arrived last wed, at week 34, weighing 1.68kg.
He's currently staying at nicu at mt a. He's currently on tube feeding as he still can't suck. Waiting for his weight to hit 2nd before he can b discharged.

As advised by mummies here to obtain referral frm poly to kkh. But earliest appt is 3 weeks later which is end of apr. And I've even delivered before seeing e doc there.

I've started kangeroo care wif him. Hopefully e daily kangaroo care and bm can help him grow faster and b home wif all of us. It's really tiring to b running to and fro, 3hrly pumping and leaving a bit of time with #1.

she's not gaining weight that quickly though. when you say the amount of feeding, it's per how many hours? currently, she's only taking 19ml every 2 hours as of yday. think the doctors increase it by 1ml every day.

she's still in the incubator since her weight <1.5kg. can't wait to carry her and give her kangaroo care!! she's still on tube feeding too. will the nurse allow kangaroo care even when bb is on tube feeding and inside incubator?

Glad to hear from you... hope you're coping well and please take good care of yourself so that you can provide more BM for your bb. Jia you and don't give up! Take it step by step and she will gain her weight very fast! When my bb is in nicu, the feeding is every 3 hrly. The doc will increase the feeding according to her weight gain. There is a formula that doc use to calculate the amount of milk for your bb against their weight and number of days from birth.

I think you can give her kangaroo care even she is with tube. I see no reason why they don't allow. Try asking the nurse or doc there. No harm!

Hi all

My bb is still in nicu. Not sure when is he gg to be discharged. Other than weight gain, he is doin fine. We are not sure if we should proceed to arrange for baby shower since he's not home yet.

May I know if anyone of u still proceed with baby shower even if your bb still at hospital?

Hi everyone,

Haven't been updating. My gal is now 9 months old (ca 6.5 months). Seems like just a short while ago that she was born! Generally, she's doing quite well, weighing close to 10 kg. Quite good given that she started at only 1.1kg.

Unfortunately, she has a special condition that is not prematurity related. She has to undergo a surgery in a 3-4 months time. Last week, she underwent a procedure that doesn't allow her to flip / crawl for the next couple of months. We have to watch her very closely. I'm trying to get a second hand hip hugger to alleviate the strain of carrying her for extended period of time. A baby carrier is not quite appropriate for her. If anyone of you have any to let go cheaply, I would greatly appreciate.

Jas - we didn't proceed with baby shower . No celebrations after baby came home too (after 4 mths) as we try not to expose him to too many people. He had his first "party" at AA 12 mths.

Kelly - great weight for CA 6.5 mths. Hope ur baby stay healthy
