Planning for Overseas IVF

Hi

Would like to find out if there are couples who were planning for overseas IVF but all plans have stopped given the current covid situation?

Feeling kinda disappointed as we have been TTC-ing (naturally) for 1 year and still no news.

:(

Hello - both me and my partner live together but not married (for personal reasons) so we don't qualify for IVF in Singapore. We consulted a fertility specialist who told us to get married to do IVF in Singapore (personally, I thought that isn't the right reason for us to go sign the papers :p).

Also, I'm above 40 and I have not gone for any ART in Singapore prior hence I believe the subsidies are not available to us (even if we choose to get married).
Just for your information, foreign patients doing IVF in Malaysia are not required to produce a marriage certificate. They however have to sign a form at the clinic, declaring that they are legally married in their country of origin. This is unlike Thailand, where you have to produce a valid marriage certificate, together with a certified translation in Thai language.

In case you are intending to do genetic testing of embryos (PGS or PGT-A) overseas, do take note of the previous threads:

If you are considering doing embryo genetic testing (PGS / PGT-A) overseas, here are the latest news updates:

Hi, I am planning to go for overseas IVF once travel restrictions ease up. Both my partner and I are fully vaccinated. Am now researching and trying to make sense of the travel arrangements.

My reasons for going overseas is not because I want to do genetic testing. I want to do IVF as a single woman because we are a lesbian couple so I have to choose countries that allow that.

If anyone is also researching about overseas IVF (straight or gay) this we can team up and share info.

In fact you can do artificial insemination in Malaysia, if you bring your own sperm donor, and claim that he is your husband. Foreigners doing IVF in Malaysia are not required to provide a marriage certificate. All they need to do is to sign a declaration form that testify that they are a married couple.

This is unlike Thailand where foreign couples undergoing IVF not only have to present a marriage certificate, but must also supply a court-certified translation of the marriage certificate.

Thank Angelica, for proposing this. I will keep it in mind as another resort.

We were planning to buy and import sperm from overseas sperm banks, and wanted to first find a hospital willing to work with us as a lesbian couple, and let the hospital propose which sperm banks they work with. We want the sperm donation to be anonymous so that there are no future complications. Don't really have anyone in mind.

Thanks for the tip-off about Thailand, looks like I can cross it off my research list as I am unmarried.
