hi samval, my 2yo daughter is also asthmatic. they were reluctant to classify her until her 4th hospitalisation. she's been in 7 times so far (bronchiolitis, pneumonia, rsv, exacerbated asthma etc). she's on pulmicort (inhaled preventer) and ventolin (as needed). i'm getting more worried with each admission and things don't seem to be improving.

i'm glad to hear your boy has been ok the past few mths. can u share which hospital u normally take him to and which pd he's seeing? i really hope my girl will outgrow it like a lot of ppl say. it's really very stressful ever since this thing started.

hi brandedfans, i hope your girl is completely recovered and has been keeping well since your last post. take care!

Hi Xuanting, my gal is better now, but still, sometime can hear the wheezing sound if stay in aircon room for too long.

Whenever the gor gor got flu, she will get it again and require neb again. So, till now, PD also didn't classify as ashtma as yet. So, hopefully all these will pass la. Pray hard.

hi saw this forum and can understand how you mummies feel when seeing your child on long term medication, running to hospital to and fro, and worried when they were down with flu and cough.

My son who is 3.5yrs also diagnose with bronchititis when he was 2yrs 3mths. He has been flixotide for 1.5 yrs. Two puffs per day. We also tried chinese medicine. His health seems to improved. Just this January we started to reduce the flixotide to 1 puff per day after kkh doc advise. Recently he starts to have this mild cough, doesnt hear any phlegm. But can hear this mild wheezing sound occasionally whenever i asked him to breathe deeply and put my ear near his chest area.

Keeping ,my finger cross that its not developing into asthma. hopefully can get him off the puff too.

Dear all,

Upon reading ur posts, i'm so worried now abt my boy.
It must hv been hard on all of u, hving to take care of ur kids, some of u being mummies to more than 1 child.

My boy was hospitalised for bronchitis last may. And ever since then he's had been coughing on n off quite frequently. Just after CNY this yr, he is again ordered to hv xray taken after coughing for a week n cldnt eat n keep vomitting. Doctor advised hospitalisation again. I decided to keep my son at home n use the nebuliser n oral antibiotics instead. He finally recovered after 3 weeks.

N now, 2 weeks after he recovered, he's coughing again...
Everytime i hear him cough, i get v scared, knowing tt he's v prone to more serious coughing n bronchitis.

Now i'm v worried tt it'll eventually developed into asthma. Even though my family has no history of asthma, but i personally hv eczema. I read somewhere tt such conditions r linked to asthma as well.
I usually c my PD, but this time my mum say try out a v old experienced GP at beauty world. I found the medication given somewhat is similar to my PD's usual prescription.

Is there some specialist and TCM doctor who specialise in respiratory problems whom anyone can recommend? Am v keen to try TCM as western doctors usually use almost the same medicines... Zaditen, ventolin, actifed, dhatalin, fluimucil... TCM might hv a better long term improvement...
