May 2018 Mummies

Dear All,

Looking for advice pls. Running 8 weeks , want to book a scan do i need to consult a gynae first and then go for scan or vice versa.

Can anyone pls recommend me a gynae in east side who can also do scan.

Sorry for stupid query but new to Singapore and have no medical save policy so will be a private patient.

The private gynae which i went practise at Mt E. Dr Chia Yee Tien. maybe you can give her clinic a call to check the rates.
I find her quite patient and her rates are not ex but i see her at a clinic in CCK which she only visits twice a wk at night. Her 1st consultation was below $200 with scan, i find it quite reasonable.

Hi all mummies, nice to meet you! I'm first time mummy after long waiting...
Now is 9 weeks.
I did my first scaning on 7 weeks, doctor said "congrats! It's TWINS!!"
Any Mummies having twins here?
First time very nervous and don't know what to do...
My gyane only will see me up to 12 weeks, after that will need to look for other gyane for delivery...
any recommends gynae in mount A and TmC?

I'm seeing Dr Esther Ng who delivers at Mount A. I don't know whether she specialises in twins or not but I quite like her because she's motherly.

My appetite dropped in general as I reached 12 wks. So will just try to eat more small meals. Anybody experience massive headache? And any home remedy?

Well...Still consume white rice but not dat much (around 2-3spoonful only)...But when I try to eat rice with flavours (chicken rice/nasi lemak), I'll tend to eat much...
If I hv no appetite to eat, will depend on fruits and milk (for pregnancy)...

Hi Mummies, I am a first time mummy too, baby is 12 weeks and edd 15th May. My appetite was bad for the past few weeks, took 3-4 mouthful of rice and full already. Survived by taking more small meals and snacks in between like cereals, oats and crackers.

How often are you guys scheduled for your checks? Mine is twice a week so far and also are you guys advised to take influenza jab?

Mine was 2 weeks in the initial period, now 3 weeks from 8w to 11w, next one will be 1 month interval.

Hmm in fact my gynae advised that I do not take any flu jabs in the first trim. I asked cos I was scheduled to take for company check-up.

Twice a week is alot! My checks so far 7wk, 9wk, 12wk (oscar test at hosp), 13wk (receive results of oscar test). Oncoming 16wk and then once every month from then.

i went for flu jab literally on the day i discovered i was pregnant... coincidentally there was a company wide drive to get all staff to get the flu jab haha
actually pregnant women are generally advised to get flu jab as immunity is lower. unless you have other medical conditions that are contraindicated

My gynae checks are spaced few weeks apart and im fine with that. I dont need frequent checks though.. gynae checks are quite expensive haha :p

Amnio is invasive and has 1% miscarriage risk. Have you considered doing oscar or other nipt like harmony, igene, panaroma?
As im currently residing in US, thus, all these tests (oscar, harmony igene etc) are not available. They only have CVS or amnio...and since amnio is 100% accurate and the chance of miscarriage is lesser than CVS, i would rather go ahead with amnio...haiz...not much choice to choose from :(

but the nipt done in sg is sent to the US for processing.... is it that your insurance policy doesn't cover =|

I think it depends on which part of US im residing...im staying in quite a remote part of US, so the facilities over here are not so advance or up to date. Not all the hospital have non invasive tests.

Same EDD and first time as well! :)

Heh congrats! How’s it going for you? I’m now slowly trying to read up n prep for the arrival! Was initially scared when found out pregnant cos didn’t really plan for it. Haha now being careful with what I eat n load up on lactobacillus hoping to build my baby’s health from my womb :) my company’s dr says v impt for expecting mommies as it helps in our body’s absorption of nutrients, stronger immunity which translates into baby’s health! Let me know if any one of you are keen to purchase these lactobacillus, gold product freshly made in Singapore with high cell count :)

Many thanks.... anyone signed up for oscar and fetal anomaly package, pls guide on costs.

I paid about $220 for the 1st consultation and scan including sat surcharge of $20. Oh, they don’t accept credit card, so you have to pay by cash or nets. I took a photo of her charges, you can refer here. View attachment 689941

Hi, you can ask Dr or call clinic to check how much she charge for Oscar. It’s not a package, just a scan and test at week 12

I paid $494 for oscar test and week 20 anomaly scan at TMC. This is the discounted rate after signing up TMC FBI membership. The membership is $98.

Hello to all mommies and mommies-to-be, I'm new on this thread. Have been a silent reader but decided break some noise here today.

Currently about 12+3 weeks, EDD 25 May. Just did my NT scan and Panaroma at TMC yesterday. Hopefully things will go well (crossing fingers and toes) as I'm already 40 (sob sob).

Anyone not yet inform your boss about your pregnancy? Im still keeping mum but don't think i can hold any longer as my tummy is burging.

Also, anyone of u already booked your CL?

If there are any FB or WhatsApp group, please let me know. I would love to join. Thanks.

Hi just did my NT scan and Harmony test (luckily managed to find a hospital in US that do the harmony test). My NT reading is 3.1mm and the doc immediately came to me and told me that there is a 2% risk that baby might have DS or some heart defect. Now still waiting for Harmony test results to be back.
What's your NT reading? Was it within normal range? I read that the cut off is 3.5mm but my doc told us that their cut off was 2.9mm at week 12. Making me worried like crazy.
So just wanna ask what's all your NT results? Wondering if 3.1mm is really normal?

Hihi

I am a May 2018 EDD mummy! My EDD is on 10 May.

Nice to see all of u here :) Will be joining the fb group as well. Pls do add me in the what's app group too

Hi, I am not in the best position to tell u what is norm and not as I am not expert. Just wait for your report and see what it says ok? Meanwhile, try not to worry too much. NT scan may not rip 100% accuracies. What u thought is abnormal could be just false alarm. Keep us posted. U will be in my prayers.

So I thk you are also week 15 today? :) Any symptoms you are experiencing? I had very bad morning sickness during 1st tri. Now at times I'll feel nausea.

Yes I’m also at week 15 today! Nope I didn’t have morning sickness, only bloatedness n back pain. But just got food poisoning/gastric flu last Sunday... so vomited n been feeling even more bloated ever since :( n lost 2 kgs.

Hoping it all goes away soon! N your nausea too! Since we are at 2nd tri :)

My NT readings came back 3.1mm too. Was way above 95th percentile. Risks of DS was still low for me. However doctor did mention about possibility of heart problems (only detectable at week 20 scan) and severe anemia (only detectable through amniocentesis, which we decided we won’t go for). Anyway it’s just possibilities that may not happen, and the 3.1mm may just be another number. So not gonna be too worried and just praying for healthy baby. :)
