Looking for a Gynae – Any Tips or Reviews?

Hi everyone, I'm currently around 6 weeks pregnant and just had our first ultrasound done! As we move forward, we'll need to decide on a gynae soon. From what I’ve read, it looks like there are two options—subsidized or private. I’m leaning towards the private route mainly for the shorter waiting times and more consistent follow-ups.

So far, I’ve visited Thomson Clinic in Punggol and seen both Dr Woo Bit Hwa and Dr Adrian. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and could share? Their antenatal packages seem quite affordable at around $800 for 15 visits, but I’m not sure how that compares with other clinics.

If any mummies or daddies here have good gynae recommendations, I’d love to hear them! I’m still exploring and don’t want to lock in my choice too early. Also open to any cost-saving tips you might have along the way. Thank you so much!

Is it Dr Adrian Woodsworth? I used him for my first pregnancy. I had natural birth.

I’m seeing Dr Regina at GynaeMD Clementi, and I’ve been pretty happy with her so far. She’s calm, explains things well, and makes you feel comfortable. It’s a private clinic, but I find the waiting time short and follow-ups quite consistent, which helps a lot when you're feeling a bit anxious in early pregnancy.

If you're still looking, I highly recommend Dr Law Wei Seng. He’s known for being very professional and approachable, and many patients appreciate how clearly he explains things. His clinic in Singapore is well-run and comfortable too. Definitely worth considering!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I completely understand wanting to go private for the shorter waits and more consistent care. For my second baby, I saw Dr Regina too, she’s warm, patient, and really takes the time to explain everything without rushing you. The clinic staff are lovely too, which made each visit so much less stressful. If you’re still exploring gynaes, she’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you value a calm, reassuring experience throughout your pregnancy.

sadly many good gyne have left KKH
i was with dr lee jiah min for a while and then dr samantha yeo. i like her and i dont have a scar. heard dr yeo has moved to TMC

Massive congrats on the new arrival! It honestly takes me back to when I had my first. I was only 23 at the time and a bit overwhelmed, but I had a brilliant gynaecologist in Singapore called Dr Kelly Loi. I used to go to her at the Health & Fertility Centre for Women, and she was just lovely. She was so patient and really took care of me, which was exactly what I needed being so young and new to it all. It made the whole experience so much smoother.

I completely understand the struggle of choosing a gynae—it’s such a big decision! When I was at your stage, I also went the private route because those long wait times at public hospitals were just too much for me. I remember being so overwhelmed by the costs, but I found that getting a fixed antenatal package really helped us budget better and kept the surprises to a minimum. It’s definitely worth comparing a few places to see who you click with most before signing anything. I actually ended up going with Dr Regina, and I've found her super patient and easy to chat with, which has made the whole process feel much smoother!

Huge congratulations on your first ultrasound! I was in a similar spot recently, debating between the public and private routes. I eventually chose the private option for the same reasons you mentioned—the shorter queues and the comfort of seeing the same face at every appointment really helped calm those early-day jitters. Regarding the cost, $800 for 15 visits is actually a very decent deal for a private clinic, though it’s worth double-checking if that includes things like scans and supplements, as those extras can sometimes add up quickly.

One little cost-saving tip is to ask if you can buy your own pregnancy vitamins from the pharmacy rather than through the clinic, which some doctors are happy to allow. While I didn't see the specific doctors you mentioned, I had a really positive experience with my gynae, Dr Ng. Having someone who is patient and takes the time to answer every little question made a world of difference for my peace of mind. It’s definitely worth visiting a couple of places before you sign a package just to see who you click with!
