Looking for Natural Fertility Support – Age 40, Exploring TCM Options

I’m almost 40 and have been trying to conceive. I’ve already gone through IUI three times, but I’ve decided not to continue with IUI or IVF. Instead, I’m now looking into Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as a natural and holistic way to support fertility.

I believe age might be playing a role in my challenges, and I’m hoping to hear from others who have used TCM to improve fertility—especially those around my age.

If you have any personal experiences, clinic recommendations, or advice on TCM herbs, acupuncture, or lifestyle changes that helped you, I’d be so grateful to hear your story.

Thank you so much for your support.

I became pregnant at the age of 37, after going through a long and difficult journey. I had undergone 4 IUIs and 2 fresh IVF cycles, along with 1 frozen transfer at KKH, but unfortunately, none were successful. After so many failed attempts, we began to lose hope and were emotionally and physically drained.

We decided to take a break after COVID, focusing instead on improving overall health through a good diet and regular exercise, mainly weight training and cardio, while following a Mediterranean-style diet.

At the beginning of 2024, we received a recommendation for Prof. PC Wong at NUH and decided to switch hospital. Around the same time, we also decided to explore TCM options and started seeing Physician Na at Yi TCM. I began acupuncture and preparation two months before the IVF cycle.

Now, after nearly a decade of trying, I’m finally pregnant, currently 36 weeks along, and incredibly grateful for how everything has come together.

Good luck to you :)
