Gan, thks for info. Can u pass me the seller contact? Still can't decide which brand to buy.

Baby, I also wanted to unwrap her asap but afraid she can't sleep soundly. Monitor her during day time every 10-15min move here and there. Didn't really sleep through more than 1 hr so at night how to ??

Ru
How old is yr bb?
U mean during night time yr bb keep wakin up?

Usually must wrap bb at least for 1 mth old baby.. Cos they just adapting the world outside mummy womb. They wont feel secure if u dont wrap them..
But some people start to wean them off after 1 mth..

Did u try putting a bean pillow on baby chest? This will make them sleep better/.

Thanks, all

And where do you go for the 6-in-1 injections, polyclinic or PD?

Prayhard
First few days no milk.. Only will have colostrum.. Keep latching and pumping!

I bought an ergo carrier.. And my hb and i loves it!

U can go to yr PD for vaccinations.. Polyclinic prices not cheap also cos no subsidy once u opt for 6-in-1...

Mummies, may I kw usually babies will hv their jabs during which month aft birth? I m not sure whether to clear off my cl after ml or keep it ltr for their injections.. Pls help, thanks!!

Baby: my girl turns 2 mths recently. At night we swaddled her she has no problem to sleep only recently she knows how to use her strength to lift up her both hands. Day time we notice she didn't sleep soundly always startled. That is why we afraid if we unwrap her she can't sleep longer hr at night.

We have the pillow but not use for her. With it or without still the same, we only used to use it during day time.

Prayhard
Congrats !

Rostrum
Sometimes depends on what your PD recommend or what the clinic practice is. In spore some jabs are not compulsory, so you need to decide also. But jabs usually administered at 1,3,5 mths or 2,4,6 mths before baby turn 1 yr old. For subsequent jabs, think u will follow the schedule given.

ru
They have to get used to not wrapping to sleep. You can try just wrap her body and let her hands free for some time to wean off gradually. Daytime, I sometimes let baby sleep on tummy, can sleep longer, think they feel more secure, but got to keepwatch. That was what I did.

rostrum,
at birth wil jab HepB n bcg, wil leave a bubble on arm. after gng home bathing bb must be careful of d bubble, dun rub or burst it.
happy.gif

den subsequent jab wil see if u gng polyclinic, private or back to kkh. for me i go kkh, just follow their appt given n my ger had her 1st 6in1 jab lately at nearing 3 mths of age.

Hi all
Just curious did u gals check wht facial pdt u use after bfp? I just realise that i hv been using a pdt for 10days after bfp that contains retinyl palmitate toxic material according to doc Loh....;( i am very worried now and not sure wht is the effect on baby after apply this product.. Any idea will my bb be ok? Real worried now ;(

Joanne, I din really chk on all pdts I used only avoid whitening pdts... I din really tink too much on all these.. I even apply perfume initially.. Since wat's done cannot b undone. Just avoid the pdt fm now onwards..

Thanks rose n bubbybear on d jab advice..

Blissful, I read tt d Bb fair not worth going.. Not as good as taka fair... Unless u r passing by or ard d area else not worth..

Blissful thanks for the expo update.
But dun think will make a trip there as it wld be crowded. My gal has been in cranky mood since her 5 in 1 jab on Monday! Always cry badly when she wants to nap n wants to be carried. So we r only making short trips out this long weekend

aiyo my girl also being naughty these few days. daytime nap carry to sleep already cannot put down at all. want to put down must hv 轻功 otherwise she'll start screaming.
funny thing is once hit 10pm she'll want to go back into her cot and will knock out till morning, just waking up for feeds.

hope she gets through this phase soon

Grumpus sama sama my girl daytime cannot put down, must carry else cry till face red with big droplets of tears. I m going back work in 1 week plus time, stress leh. Afraid she will be like that when my mummy takes care. Imagine I had to sign the insuranc contract with Audrey yesterday while carrying her.=s

Blissful brought ur gal see PD? Hope she recovers soon coz u bringing her for trip soon right?

Mummies to be, anyone wants da feng Ai? The herbs for bathing during confinement? I have 9 packets from hock hua to let go. Please let me know

Mummies
Im in the same boat as u gals... Both my girls very cranky lately esp during feeding time.. Refuse to drink.. Must coax them... Aiyo so tiring ah...
Then when they are sleeping also scream v badly... Cannot sleep on their own.. Must coax and carry them till they are in deep sleep then can try to put them down... Really must know 轻功 then can successfully put them down... Else they will scream again!!!

gals, my bbs did their 6in1 jab on thur..yesterday also cranky almost whole day... me, hb n maid each carry n pacify one bb... no time bath and eat!

thankfully by night time they were so tired tht all slept before 9pm...

baby, refusing milk is one of the sign of bb wanting to wean off milk... my PD told me to look out for the following:

1) refuse to drink milk
2) increase frequency in night feeds
3) shows interest in the food we eat
4) slow down in growth
5) sucking fingers

my younger boy's growth slow down already....PD says can slowly start solids.. he gave me some sample cereal packs to try. i m tinking of waiting for another month.. now every feed i hv to latch n bottle feed..if not the intake will only be 60ml.

Pandawife, the kkh PD also said the same thing to me, ie to introduce solids slowly when i told her my gal refuse to drink milk, whether breastmilk or fm. but she didn't mention the rest of the points. my gal has pt 1 to 4 except 5. she only sucks her fingers at night when she is asleep but about to wake up for night feeds.

What brand of the cereals samples did ur pd give u to try? i am not sure which brand is good.

Panda
My girls have all the points!! But for the increase in night feeds not on all days.. Hmmm... But if wana wean off milk isnt suppose to have reduced night feeds instead??

Wean off means totally dont have to drink milk? Only eat solids?

Gan
My pd also gives me cereal samples to try... Nestle brand... Pd gives me white rice, brown rice and oats cereal to give bb try..

White rice is the safest to start with...

I thk i will wait for another mth before introducing solids to my bbs.. But i read bb must be able to sit up and must have some teeth before can eat solids?

baby,
for the 1st yr, milk is still the main source of nutrients. solids is a supplement only.
if bb wants to wean off milk they'll drink less during the day, cos they're wide awake and will actively resist drinking. then at night they will keep waking up for feeds cos they're still hungry cannot sleep properly.

bb needs to be able to sit up to eat solids, that's actually one of the signs tat bb is ready for solids. but they do not need to hv teeth.

I saw there are those ready packed cereal for bbs.. Those in liquid form.. Got many flavour.. Banana, mango etc.. Any one tried that before?

Baby:Thks.in fact few times I asked my hb to wrap her below only. I think so far still ok. Think will try tonight again since tomorrow is sun if she can't sleep well still ok

gan, i also got nestle samples. start with white rice. my pd advise is start with 1 teaspoon, and slowly add one teaspoon per day up to 5 days. if no allergy reaction means the food is safe to give bb. every 5 days can add new foods..so in case of reaction, we will know what is the cause.

it is also important to introduce foods of different taste.. sweet, sour, salty, bitter etc.

for fruits, its good to start with steaming and puree.. if ok, then use fresh and puree...

baby, i intend to use the plain cereal pack, mix with freshly made puree.. pre packed ones usually alot of preservatives or added artificial flavours.

panda,
avocado and banana are good foods to start with too. both dun need to steam, just puree.
apples, pears need to steam first. it'll be awhile before they can eat apples/pears without steaming.

baby food usually does not contain preservatives or artificial flavours. but of cos it's always better to add yr own fresh fruit puree than the pre packed ones. healthy times is another good brand of cereal

at around 6+ to 7 mths, u can also introduce some yogurt. there's baby yogurt, yoplait brand, can get easily at ntuc. then you can also add fresh fruits to the yogurt.

this is a good book to read cos it's written locally. http://www.kinokuniya.com/sg/index.php/fbs003?common_param=9789812613349

Gan,
no no, no salt or added seasoning until at least one yr old. i didn't add salt to my girl's food until 2 yrs old.
errmmm not sure abt bitter, my girl doesn't take anything bitter...hahaha
but for a bit of saltiness, u can add some dried scallops or dried ikan bilis into their porridge. can let them eat cheese also.
as they get older, u can flavour their food with garlic, onions, herbs like spring onions, rosemary etc...

this mummy has documented some excellent recipes too. http://littlegastronomy.blogspot.com/

Grumpus, thanks! will pop down kinokuniya one of these days to buy the book u recommend. whole new knowledge about weaning and feeding our babies food besides milk.
I think when they take medicine, they already have a taste of bitter. Can still remember how my gal face turns all red and fist clench tight when i fed her the liquid panadol.

Grumpus really!!! But her reaction was like something yucky but when she took the rotravirus med, she seemed to like... Kept licking her lips till the nurse said must be yummy

Hi mummies,

Anyone staying in SK seeing PD Dr Lilian Lim @ Rivervale Mall? How do you find her?

And, do you buy insurances for your baby? I intend to get Medical, Life and Education insurance. Any recommendation?
