IVF/ICSI Support Group

Don't be stress.. Your body will react to your mood. I am monitoring my progress as this time round. I have taken a yr to nourish my body as compared to my 2nd ivf.. Wanted to see any difference.. And true enough.. Healthy body really give a better result.. I am now lying my faith in god.. If it is meant to be.. It will be.. I have already done my best.

Mine to share why they think it is low quality?

I know a friend also complained about pain when she was wary of the ER procedure under sedation. I was quite scared I would happen to me and was hoping it was a GA instead (my d&c was GA) . But luckily my sedation was a smoothie one.

Today is my cd18. I normally get strong ovulation symptoms and would have ovulated by now. But my opk still blank and no oO symptoms . I know post ivf may see longer cycles and i wonder by how long. I know everyone is different but curious to know what it was for you ladies.

Oh the embrologist will grade the embryo based on the degree of cleaving thus mine was only grade 2 so not advisable to transfer.

If ovulation is much longer than ur usual cycle, u may wan to consider if u wan to proceed w the FET. It may not be a gd cycle and embyros r too precious.

I ovulated on d24 in my lat natural cycle, 10 days later than my usual cycle. I aborted that cycle after seeking dr loh's views.

Thanks jklim. This is my natural ttc cycle though. My next stim will only start in July.

Anyone done assisted hatching before?

Hi Ladies, I would like to share this article with you: http://fertilitylabinsider.com/2014/06/what-i-couldnt-say-when-i-was-working-full-time-in-ivf/

This reminds me of my own experience. I have wasted lots of money on a lousy private clinic but spent less money on a good government clinic. Do be careful which clinic you choose.

When IVF treatments fail, the clinic will usually blame the patient's eggs. But sometimes it could be the lab or doctor's fault, which they will never admit.

My daughter is from assisted hatching. The call was made by the embyrologist, not even dr loh. I was not even informed. Only knew post event after i got the stack of medical bills which i scrintinse page by page and found out myself.

I will ask my doc about assisted hatching the next round. I know most of the times its the embryologist who makes the shot because they are the ones who know if the procedure is deem appropriate.

Just bought 1 box of immunocal from OG.
Ladies, may I ask when do we take it? At stimulation stage or tww stage?
Also it was written on the box to take 2 sachets/day. Do we really need to take 2sac/d or just 1 sac/d also can?

redval: my both post-BFN fresh cycles, went from 28 days to 45 days. but it reset itself the following month.

Lining 12mm, collected bunch of medicine like crinone, utrogestan, duphaston, progynova. Tmr will be my ET. Pray for the good news..

Hi redvel, my embrologist initiated assisted hatching for my 2d3 above avg embryos transfer to increase implantation chances.
But still sadly it didn't bfp. I guess e quality and womb conditions plays a big part in ivf. So maybe need to tiao our body or gear it up in good condition before e ivf.

Hi everyone, had my ER this morning. They managed to retrieve 16 eggs. Feeling crampy and bloated. They did give me some med to help with the bloating.

Tinga, good luck with your er tomorrow. I haven't collected my other meds like the inserts and all. No prescription was issued.

Ginger 28, rest well! 16 follicles is quite a good count. Dun worry, e cramp and bloatedness should go away in a few days

Good luck to those cycling this month!

Thanks for the sharing on assisted hatching.

My final kkh bill is here. Good to know the cash top up isn't way too high (my stim period quite short). I don't have cofunding; just medisave.

Thanks gals :) really appreciate the support from the forum here. Without u all, I dunno who can I share my thought with, thx

Hi @Hope42014, I m with private, not w KKH :)

but I do feel that assisted hatching is worth a go, seems like its for ladies 37 and above to aid in implantation. I read on internet and clinic's notes that there are not much side effects except you may end up 1 embryo having identical twins. good luck redvel on your 2nd cycle. dun look at my story on negative results for assisted hatching, I am properly a negative example to look at..

Oh Connie I didn't know assisted hatching falls under "37". Just like transferring of 3 embies after a failed ivf.

I would certainly explore and discuss about this in my next appt (endo scratch). Thanks for your well wishes. Are you already bfp or still cycling?

I didn't bfp, failed my first cycle I think around similar time like you. I did my 1st icsi in may. now resting from ivf thgy and exploring tcm before plunging to next IVF. got my dh to see tcm today and I am seeing tcm soon myself also.

Connie, did you go for the review with your doc and if anything that he/she could shed light on regarding that unsuccessful attempt?

Ivf journey is partly about giving room for failure. Keep our faith going :)

I am looking forward to my Thursday retrieval.. My hubby is drowning himself with seafood these 2 days.. I also brew herbs for him to boost his army.. Haha!!! When I tell my hubby that my Tcm says my result of lining and follicles are satisfactory.. He is saying.. "Wa.. Like exam hor.." So funny..

Red dates are good for keeping womb warm. You may put dang GUI in. Other sisters drink red bean but personally I prefer avocado milk shake with black sugar. And huai Shan cook with porridge.

I dont know about KKH protocol but in SGH there's this embroygen thingy which helps in implantation but this alone cost $600 and only has a shelf life of 2 weeks. SGH will sometimes suggest this option for 2nd fresh cycle...

Hi everyone..I was having bad cramps yesterday morning and I went to KKH 24hrs clinic..did another beta HCG and the result was 4692(previous test was 1479 on Friday). Santhiya,

I did a scan last monday at kkh at 5wks 5 days. Only see intrauterine gestational sac and yolk sac.

Did another at dr loh on last wednesday at 6 weeks then see a light faint pulse.

I think u are about 1 week behind me right? If that is the case, it may be too early.

Hi Dolly girl and baby sparkles... i have decided to join this thread as well :)

Hi santhiya86, i rmb your profile pic. . . i was here as a silent reader last time :) congrats to you new baby! knew u tried for some time.

Hi all,
First of all, CONGRATS to all mummies to be here! Enjoy your pregnancy and have a smooth and safe journey!

i am new in this thread. :) feeling very disappointment and despair. we have been trying so hard for number 1 still no news yet. end up found out hubby's only have 1% morphology. any one here encountered this and succeed ivf? how many times u do to succeed? any reliable hospital for ivf? hopefully can be government hospital as i really need the subsidy. i am still considering ivf as we are low income family and might not be able to fork out even with government subsidy. so we are still considering. :)
thanks in advance.

Hahaa Ya lor... but tat saves me a sum of $400-600 since didn't ga me...
i also want to try without GA. i think sedative not so strong, oso better than GA as it will not bring too much harm to our body. moreover can save $400-$600!!! alot lei! :) so brave of u!

Hi ladies, I need your advice. I'm supposed to start on my bcp this wed but I'm not free to go and collect the medication until Thursday. Is it detrimental to eat the bcp one day late? I'm supposed to take it for 18 days. Will it affect my ivf cycle if I take only take bcp for 17 days?

Hope to receive your advice. Thanks!

Emily, not i choose but they mixed up the schedule. Gynae thot i fell asleep liao but i can feel the pain. The needle poked for at least 16-18 times i tik cos i got 18 retrieved..no joke n luckily i no bleed after tat

Hi Emily, welcome to motherhood forum. I'm new too!

On your husband morphology issue, I want to share that my husband took both Tcm/western supplement and cold shower and his morph improved from 1% to 5%! Not sure which is the contributing factor but he thinks the cold showers help! The Tcm is tan kian seng at Clementi, super long queue. My husband only see him once and then take his medicine for two months. Can't rem the western supplement. But for now can try the cold showers first! And Tcm recommend swimming in the morning (but very difficult for people who r working). Hope this helps!

emily: welcome welcome!!! u r finally here after much convincing :)
anyway take it easy ok dun be too hasty.. do all ur research first before u start.

men's troops are very easy to tackle. TCM and multi vit...
and dont bathe in hot showers cos they kill the troops. then none or very few left marching/swimming.
