Just wanted to share here. After my 3 rounds of failed Ivf (2 fresh and 1 FET). I asked my doctor to test my reproductive immunology, ie. to test my natural killer cells etc. etc. etc. many items which cost me $450. I didn't do much study before requesting the test since there is no harm to do the blood test. Sisters, any view?

Is that antibodies test? I did before after 2 miscarriages. Negative. And i dun recall i paid so much for it.
My colleague has antibodies tt attack the bb. She only found out at final tri when bb is not growing n dr loh checked her blood to find out why.
She conceived naturally n has delivered.

I think there are some similarities in our cycle. I extracted 13 eggs but only 10 mature for fertilisation. Only 3 made it to qualify for transfer. However, both my embbies failed to implant after transfer.
I asked dr S about culturing for blastocysts and was told that they need at least 6 good embryos before they will consider culturing. And she caution me that usually, there is nothing left for freezing. Is it true that blastocyst cannot be frozen? I thought they can be freezes.
Which CD did u do you endo scratch? I was told to make an appt between 21 to 27 day. Is there an optimal day to get it done? I also read in some US forum that some may choose to take some pain killer before the procedure. Is there such option here?
From what u shared about yr results, it seems that there is really quite a lot of improvement in quantity extracted (50% more) and quality of the eggs (additional 6 for fertilisation.) after adding on the saizen. when did you have to start injecting? And how many days did u hv to jab?
Sorry for the many questions. Hope any ladies here who had the experience and knowledge can share with me.
I asked the kkivf nurse this question when I went for transfer in January. They told me that unless ER is on friday, their ET is usually 2dt. For those with retrieval on Friday, transfer usually done on Monday, hence 3dt.
Pingping: there's a whole school of thought on when is the optimal day to transfer and the argument of lab controlled environment vs womb - which is better. Some clinics hv standard protocol guidelines they ask patients to follow, some will accede to patient's request. Similarly, some clinics freeze embbies at day2, some day3, some wait for day5 or must be blastocyst. Unfortunately, ivf is still much of an art despite the advanced science behind it.

The embryologist, Chong, at KKH also told me that they feel that the womb is a better environment and hence they prefer day 2 transfer...

I hope you get a BFP this time. Dr S also told me that they do not use blastocyst as a first line.... I suppose that's why they only cultivate for those in their 2nd cycle...

I do feel for you. You can try again on your next fresh cycle and may success. Like I did and I have 2 kids now, after I went thru the same experience as you.
Rest a few months before you try.

@pumpkin_pie sorry to hear your loss. Hugz hugz. I can share how you are feeling now. Last year I also had 2 miscarriages at around week 6. The feeling is devastating. At that time I didn't join this thread and there was not enough support beside my hubby. The worst part is I can't carry my son at that moment and I felt that I have neglected him too just because I wanted to have a second bb. But I am glad I had come out from this ordeal and is fighting against all odds again. Wish you have a speedy recovery and try to stay positive.

Now only one snow baby from 2nd cycle is now waiting anytime. Since this is the last one, it pains me to dispose without giving it a last chance so I try and leave it to GOD for being my 3rd baby. However I am not putting a high hopes because it is FET and I am not even sure if it can survive thraw as well.

Denmeg, yes I felt the same too.. That I've neglected my son during the past weeks when I was pregnant. Could finally carry him and bring him to the park after 2 wks at home.

Ping I did all those tests you mentioned b4. After my 2nd miscarriage. I did to confirm there is no under lying issues b4 I proceed with more ivf as ivf are costly .. even if never mind the finances it's emotionally taxing.

I suspect my synecchies are back because my periods are much lighter every month but everytime i mention to doctors they say no all ok your lining is good - i also Know synechies stop embryo from sticking
I want to ask if anybody has heard about that before and what happened? Which doc did you go to ?

I really hope I will be able to yield more healthy eggs n embryos the next round with saizen. DH and I also started taking royal jelly since early this month. Like you, I will probably ask for a day of MC when I go for endo scratch. It is always an anxious filled trip for me when I head to KKH for appointment....
Actually, I am now thinking if it is wise for me to start the next cycle so soon in April after failing in January. My friend was telling me that maybe I should wait a while more since I just started TCM with Dr Tan SB and 2x acupunture with Dr Zuo every week from 2nd week of February.
When I saw Dr Tan the first time, she gave me herbs to brew for a month with hubby and I. I told her we may try in April again and she told us to Tito first but did not give an estimate or recommend when we can start round 2 of IVF. Dr Zuo on the other hand was quite comfortable with the 2.5 break we have and thinks that we can go ahead with round 2 in April. Other than the acu 2x a week, I have also been heeding her advice to wear socks at home, stay off cold drinks and cooling stuff and drink red date longan tea daily to improve my 'cool' womb.
Personally, I am continuing with my conceive well gold, immunocal, ensure life milk and royal jelly daily. I know it sounds like a lot that I am doing and consuming but I think it really makes a difference. I can feel that I am healthier and not feel so cold easily like before.
What do you ladies think? Should I proceed with endo scratch in March and round 2 IVF in April or should I wait it out a bit more? ... ... Really anxious to get a BFP soon but at the same time, afraid of disappointment again....

I am just wondering if my period will come with no ovulation. And if it doesn't come by CD 35, should I go KKH and ask for help to start my period...

Out of the 3, only 1 is mature and fertilized successfully thus transferred only one.

Pumpkin, I'm sorry.
Do u have any answers to why this happened? How come 2 implanted so well with strong beta and yet just detached? U saw heartbeat for 1 or 2 of them right?

I did my first ivf cycle late Dec 2010 and tested bfn in Jan 11. Yes the next month's cycle was a little messed up after which it kind of went back to normal. I continued with my own tcm after that and started doing accu with dr zou before FET which i hv scheduled for Apr 2011.
Bfp for the FET and delivered my gal in Dec 11.
Of course they were ups and downs and heart dropping moments during the pregnancy period.
So i guess it is possible to do in Apr but of course provided you feel well and comfortable.

anamika, no problem, here is the support group forum where we give support and share any info we know. heard from dr before if cycle too long no good as what you mention lining is not the optimal for implantation. so if this is really the case, i rather you abort this cycle, retrieve but dont transfer and wait for next month before you do fet. meanwhile you can wait for body to flush out all the medication hormones while waiting for fet.
pumpkin_pie, stay strong at least no d&c is good no need to go through another op. look ahead, at least now your boy dont feel neglected by mummy can be carried and hugged by you

portia3, kkivf do culture embryos to blastocycts stage but as to how they review who is suitable is they will see how many eggs retrieve. i dont know what is their bench mark for that but mine after retrieve the nurse straight away tell me i will do transfer 5 days later but anytime from d2 -d4 i must standby for their call if by 9.30am morning i dont receive call i am safe if i receive i must go down to transfer immediately. my retrieval was on wednesday so just nice even if do d2, d3 still during their working hours. my frozen babies were all blastocysts. just did my transfer this cycle with 2 blastocyst surviving the thaw. so i really hope this cycle will be a good one for me.

portia me like valteen had my 1st fresh in dec 2013 and jan 2014 negative, i did my natural fet feb 2014. now in tww. dont know if it will work, dont know if its too fast to go ahead but since i thought i am doing natural fet no injections, should be easier. not that stressful to the body. but then again if time allow and you can relax i would recommend wait longer. for me i am the anxious type. my menses and ovulation did came slightly later after failed fresh and my cycle now become 30-35days from initial 28-30days. my last ovulation was detected at d18 when usually should be between d15-17. just hope it doesnt screw up anymore since this is my 2nd bleeding from af since the last fresh.

Portia, I think fresh cycle need to wait 3 mths apart before starting another one. What is Dr S' advice? Actually I think if u have already started to tiao, u shld just go ahead if u r prepared. The longer u wait the more anxious u get, might as well go ahead?

yes portia if doing fresh need at least 3months of rest. for fet can proceed after 2 menses (counting from the failed cycle 1x and the next menses). advice from my doc.
Iwantahealthybaby: Thanks for the info! Ya Dr Zou said I can see her tmr, sat n mon. I just done my ET... was depressing till I wanna cry. Blood test show my progesterone very high and Dr Tan said chances of bfp is very low. In normal case, he would have advised to cancel this cycle but since I have 8 embryos out of 13 eggs retrieved so I can still proceed to transfer 2 n still got 6 to 7 to freeze (1 under observation). Me n my hubby decides to go ahead with ET but Dr Tan said will only transfer 2 grade 3 and freeze the 6 grade 4 embryo. Never read abt this in forum b4 so was really shocked....

Tavismummy: the grading is just a visual intepretation. Just need one fighter whatever the grade to breakfree and dig itself. Sorry to hear abt the progesterone level. Is there anythinf they can do this cycle or future cycles to monitor the levels? Since in 2ww now, stay positive and just hv to tell the 2 embbies to fight on!
Santhiya: u did a fresh, right? Sometimes I could be gas since the ovaries r recovering plus all the support meds. Jia you and stay positive!! Too early for menses. Plus we never know when implantation really happens

When i did mt first fresh cycle w kkkivf, my lining has hit 14mm n follicles not ready. I asked the review dr on duty, dr kelly loi, who is now in pte practice if lining is too thick n no healthy. She said no such concern for ivf pregnancy as we r on medication. Lining will grow over existing one. Well, i got pregnant. My miscarriage was mid term at 20 wks, so confirmed nothing to do w lining thickness.
5dpd2 cramps r most likely causing fr the embyro trying to implant. Succeed or not, wun know until BT.
Iwantahealthybaby, i m working. Stressed n too busy to think abt BT actually. But i hv been constantly reminded by it from bloatedness, farting, constipation n lower abdomen discomfort. This morning i hv to battled w a struggling toddler who refused to leave house to go to my parents' plc. Ended up i hv to forcefully carry her out n she is 15kg!

Kkivf gives pregnyl hcg injection support for fresh cycle if the sister has few eggs retrieved. Cant remember that magic no now. I was on jabs for both my fresh cycles as i only have 8 eggs retrieved.
Reason is, jabs r hcg. For sisters who have lots of eggs retrieved, they r at risk of ohss. So these jabs will worsen ohss.
Those on pregynl jabs also cannot do hpt until the hcg is completely out of the body. If not will get false positive.

Ron8129: Dr Tan says its very rare n till now he is unsure what are the causes. At least that's what I read too when I google it. But he said he had a coll with high progesterone during ivf but bfp but its just one case.... im hoping for the best n preparing for the worst. Anyway, thx for ur console. Its a relieve I can always get advice from here...

when did you have your progesterone blood test done? i am in kkh too but they have never done that test for me pior to any cycle. this natural cycle fet no BT was done throughout the whole procedure. only at fresh i remember got to take bt before stimulation but i dont really know what that BT is for? if that BT pass then i can proceed with stimulating injections.
dont sad 1st, since come so far i would take the same risk to transfer too as well since still got frozen embryos after that.
