still same advice, drink water and eat hard boiled eggs. hope to hear ur BFP in te next 2week.
did u get any medicine after ET? do you have to go back to hospital for injections?

I'm not too sure about Dr Xia Rong on her practice for acup on the last week before ER as i have not been under her before. Well, just do it according to your own comfort zone and not to be stress up. As for me, I went for 4 days straight starting from last Friday and i stop on Tue and Wed as i was feeling quite tired and i will go for another one today as my ER is tmr. Probably will do another one on Sun to prepare for my ET on next Mon.

Hope everything went on smoothly for you today. I did my HCG jab yesterday nite on my buttock and surprisingly it was not painful at all! When the GP told me its over, i was still asking him "are you sure, how come so fast"??? I wonder is it due to the Panadol i took an hr before the jab cos i was having bodyache and was worried i have fever.

Are you with GE. Seems like private hospital believe in lying down for 2 hours with full bladder. I did that when I was with GE. KK doesn't practice this, we were allowed to go pee immediately after the transfer. Hmm... whatever, good luck to u. A big BFP for you okie !!!

I think for acu, you can go anytime. But for me, i usually do not do it when I am having my period. Don't know why, but i just don't feel comfortable. Agree with what Theresa say, just do it at your comfort zone. Don't get too stress with it.

Anyone need to purchase 2nd bottle Lucrin ? I have one bcos the nurse claimed that I wl need the 2nd bottle b/4 I finished my 1st bottle. But when I was told to stop Lucrin jab, I dn't need to use the 2nd bottle at all.Pls pm me if u r interested.

They gave me crinone and gave me the pregnyl injection vials for me to jab myself at home.( I always thought Pregnyl is IM injection but I was told I can do it subcutaneously) The only time I need to go back to hospital would be to see dr on Monday( I guess just for him to say hello how you been ok hang on one more week and hope for the best we'll see have your blood test next week ok bye take care). Maybe it's a good thing or else I'll go crazy during the hospitalisation leave doing nothing! Waste a few hours going to hospital sounds like a good idea! An excuse to be out of the house!

Deasy how many days after your ET was your blood tested? How long does it take for them to churn out the result? Did they break the news thru phone or personally? And was it the same day as your blood test? Pls enlighten me, DYING to know...

Queen of the house only apply when you have subjects to rule! I have none. My king/jester/maid (a.k.a husband) only comes back at 8pm. So I'm more like a hermit in a cave armed with a laptop and WIFI now. Sigh...

I'm with NUH. I'd do anything to increase chances of the embies staying put and not swim somewhere else!

As with egg eating- my dr did not say anything about eating eggs. Nevertheless, I've been eating 2/day for 5 days and I'm ready to throw in the towel. :eek:( Am such a quitter. If I'm a POW all they had to do was feed me eggs everyday and by end of the week I'll give up and leak all the country's secret or shoot myself. :eek:(((

Have a question. When I go down to kkh to get the nurse to teach me how to jab the lucrin, do I need to go home straightaway after that to put the lucrin in the fridge? Also, will that be considered the first jab on that day?

I think the thought of having to do acu everyday b4 ER made me abit stress..last nite i suddenly burst out at my hubby tat y is it always me tat have to go thru all these poking, told him i do not like acu and wanna stop.

After the outburst, I know I was being emotional but like you said, do it within my comfort zone...When near ER, i will prob take a see-first approach, if i feel stress to go acu i will prob go lesser day instead of daily. Sorie to always trouble u on questions on acu, hee dunno y whenever i got question on acu, you r the first person here i thought of asking.

Finally, yr ET is coming on Mon, how i wish I'm already at yr stage. I believe you are coping well. Take care, hope to hear gd news fr u!
 
Petals_bloom, they will give u a ice-pack together with the medicine. If I'm not wrong, supposed to put the Lucrin inside fridge within 3 hrs. So, i think as long as u reach home not more than 3 hrs shd be ok...but better confirm wif the nurse k. Ya, it will be considered as first day of Lucrin jab cos the nurse will ask you to jab infront of her.

Remember to relax, your eggs will not grow well if you are too stress. It is good that you often come to this thread to let out yourselves, we are happy to share anything where our experience allows. All the hubbies are the same, they cant understand what we are going thru.....

So what is it that you are so stress up with acup? Are you scared of the needles, twitching feeling? I would suggest maybe you can start off abit slow, like once a week and see how can you cope with it. As for the last week of ER, maybe you go on alt days. Honestly, i dont like the feeling of acup especially each time she poke me on my leg, i really hate that feeling and still get very tense too but my perservance level is quite high so just endure it. I do it so as not to regret or blame myself if the ivf is not successful. I tell myself at least i have done my best and leave the rest to GOD's hand.

You have to put both your lucrin and puregon in the fridge.

is it just me or are the puregon jabs painful? the lucrin jabs were ok but with puregon, there's a burning sensation after the jab?

if i'm not mistaken, blood test for preg about 14days after ET, the result comes out 2-3 hours later, the nurse from CHR called me via phone and i had to rush back to hospital to get HCG & pregnyl injection and medication, also seeing Prof Wong.
 
Hi gals, i am back. Had my ER this morning. Was alittle disappointed cos i had 17 follicles, yet only retrieved 8 eggs, only 50%. Haiz ...

Anyway, the ER wasnt as bad as i thot. Thanks Lefty & JR, for advise & assurance! Despite the nurses say i will be half concious, i bonked out. Only wake up at the end and was well rested. Had 'ba cho mee' then went home. Now just resting and thinking of what to do in 2ww. Maybe do some last min shopping/housework before ET. But abit worried also cos fear eggs got problem with fertilisation. Hope KKH had analysed them well and made sound judgement whether IVF them or ICSI them to improve chances. Wasnt told grade of the eggs, is it becos eggs got no grades, only embryos got grades?

Hi Theresa, wow, luck you. Mine hurt like hell. Maybe i low pain threshold. Hubby also agree, people like me, very fierce on outside but actually very timid and weak inside. Hehe ... tmr ER ya? Rest well! And rem to fast. I suppose you need to fast rite?

Hi Petals, must try to store them both in fridge as much as possible. If need to bring out, can try cooler bags. I recommend Fridge-to-go, very effective. To boost the coldness, simply add ice packs inside. Or dont add ice packs also cool enough. I used that when was on business trip last month.

Hi Babymaking, yes, puregon more stinging. Its normal. Bear with it ya? Whats your daily dosage? U with KKH too?

Hey Babymaking, after a few days of puregon, share whether you have any side effects on nipples ok? Mine is super erect and sensitive. Pain even when i accidentally touched it. Quite uncomfy leh. Machiam i already pregnant!

Wow, at least ER went on smoothly and not as bad as you thought. I also worry about the nos. of egg retrieve and fertilization, well just pray hard!

I also have very sensitive nipples from D8 of Gonal F and now the breast is very sore. Wonder if during breastfeeding have this kind of soreness or not..... if so sore and painful, how to breastfeed ya?

Thanks for the info on lucrin...my first time using lucrin so a bit blur. Okie, will go home after that to drop it off in my fridge, cos I need to go out again after that.

Actually if u can't tahan the acu sensation, the maybe cut down on the no. of sessions or just stop it totally. Cos more impt that you are comfortable with it. No need to force urself to go thru it. I personally find it ok, cos if too strong the current, I'll tell her to tone it down. Only feels funny when she pokes the needles into my legs, she hits on the nerve and i feel a temporary numbing feeling for that few seconds.

I guess i dun feel relax bcos when the current flows i always twitch especially my legs. Even when she tone down the current, my legs will still twitch...hee find the feeling so funny. Also, quite painful when she poked at certain part of my back. The bruise on my stomach which i got more than a wk ago is still there...so long lasting ah.

Actually seeing both of you so perserve on acu is an encouragement to me, I will try to continue n tell myself not to be tense..will try.

Did you buy an extra pack of syring? That day, the nurse din give clear instruction. After we came back from the pharmacy then she ask how come we never buy an extra pack. Told her we bought according to what she wrote on the form. Somemore, this is my 1st ivf so how would i know. Ended up we got to walk to the pharmacy again.

The bloatedness am experiencing is minimal and comes and go. I figured the 2 miserable eggs i've been eating may not really have impact on relieving the bloatedness. I shall experiment in the next 5 days whether bloatedness got worse due to absence of egg eating. :eek:))

Don't be disappointed. Must be grateful that there are 8 eggs instead of thinking ONLY 8 eggs.

I had 10 follicles-> 7 eggs-> 5 eggs good and satisfactory & ICSI all 5 -> 2 satisfactory no prgress so left with 3 fertilised -> 2 embies for ET, and 1 frozen baby. :eek:))))
I dare not ask what grade they were cos I do not want to worry myself. The embryologist say "good ones" and I left it at that.

Oh and the well-rested feeling after you woke up from sedation.... it's fantastic right??? I loved it! I never knew how stressed I was until I woke up and feel every muscle in my body relaxing.

As I'm with NUH they pretty much decide for me that since I'm under 35 they'll put in 2 embies. They didn't ask me how many I want in. I'm sometimes jealous that those in KKH get to choose how many they want in. But after discussing with DH, although 3 embies increase your chance, we are not prepared for triplets. So 2 embies suits us just fine.

I thought the blood test would be 14 days post ET, but the appt they give me is 16 days. I'll bet you it'll be the longest 2 days of my life.

How are you getting on with your pregnancy? After being pregnant do you still have to do any more injections?

i'm now in my 9th week. one baby is smaller than the other, but doesnt matter, as long as they are growing. now starting to feel ok, but musnt feel hungry, otherwise might vomit, although nothing might comes out, cant take chinese food, so everyday hubby must go to lucky plaza to get indo food for me, poor him, sometimes when i'm strong i can tahan smelling food coming from the hawker centre, when not so strong, i'll feel nausea & vomit. even seeing the poster or cooking prog in TV also feel not comfy. weird.. cause i like eating, hhahha..

same day, half hour after the nurse called saying i'm pregnant tht day. after confirmed pregnant, i'm given 2 kinds of injections, pregnyl & HCG, twice a week, and take duphaston and folic acid medication twice a day. some sisters here dont have any injections after confirmed pregnant, i asked the nurse the other day, nurse said mayb bcause the pregnancy is strong enough, so no need to inject.

i am hoping to conceive naturally after my surgery. now i am still recuperating. it has been a week since my surgery... jin tia, le. if ivf needed, then will be next year plan... that even longer than 2 months hor... my hubby told me that i must be optimistic but sometimes quite hard, le... i am so drowsy, groggy, moddy with all the medicine effects... you never know, you will get goodie news in 2 months time...
 
i should get good news in few months time... next week, i will embark on TCM... the western medicine is so 'siong'... my stomach cannot take it, men...

I'm back from my ER! The dr managed to retrieved 16 follicles, will only know how many are fertilized by tmr. Well, I dont really like the feeling of under GA as i tend to throw out everytime when i wake up (this is my 3rd times) and was also having quite a bad cramp (like menses cramp) but the pain goes off an 1hr later.

My legs also twitch when I do acu...both legs somemore... hee hee...i just ignore it. As for the lucrin syringes, yah, they did give me an extra pack. Cos on the form, they had a red stamp that stated "1 pkt alcohol swab & 1 pkt of syringes", in addition the lucrin's original box of syringes. I kept asking the nurse to reconfirm that all this would last for the whole duration. I counted 14 syringes in box + additional pack of 10 that they made us buy. So should be enough until my next visit for the scan. If need, will buy some more then.

good to hear that in ur case, your bloatedness is not that persistent, cos it can get very uncomfortable as some the other sistas will attest to.

Ah ya, for me, so long as can have a child can liao. Boy or girl also nevermind. But my hubby surprisingly wants a girl... but where got so easy...haiz

when i was on GA for my scopes, i hyperventilated twice and i was so weak that i needed to be admitted. i can't imagine after ER for my case if i am on GA... jiak lat... GA took longer to wear off from my body, le... so lagi need TCM...

Yeah lah, for us, getting a healthy normal baby is already a blessing in itself...where got think abt choosing gender... sigh. Like when my period was late for more than a week last time, I was hoping for BFP, but at the same time knew that quite unlikely to be preggy after TTC for so many years also no such luck. So sort of expected the negative result when I used the HPT. Hiaz...

I think you are sensitive to the opioids and sedatives. I thought I would be too, but fortunately not. But hey at least that's done.

I can't remember whether there is any red stamp on the form. I actually did not chk wat she wrote on the form and just passed it to the pharmacy.

Total I have also bought 1 box of syringes(14 pcs) + 1 pkt (10 pcs). You bought additional alcohol swab also? Realised there are only 30 alcohol swab inside the box, have to use 2 pcs everyday so likely during my next visit i have to buy a few more.

How's yr lucrin jab?

Finally! Had our embryos transfer today! Was told we only had 3 embryos (grade 4,4,3) out of the 8 eggs retrieved. We were sad and disappointed. Why only 3? Whats wrong with us? Well, but we will just have to accept it as God's plan for us. And be thankful we had 3 at all!

Procedure was swift and smooth. Then i had my impregnyl jab and hubby settled insurance before we head home. But we forgot my MC and Hospitalisation Leave though. Gotta to call KKH on monday.

Hubby droved home cautiously. Then i went to empty my bladder and await lunch on bed. Hubby bought "mee pok tah" for me. After lunch, we just took a well deserved nap.

Physically, i dont feel anything special except my tummy is alittle bloated, just alittle bloated, not enough to cause discomfort. Hopefully its becos its still early as implantation is expected to occur only in another 3-5 days.

But i am sure bored and restless with my bedrest. Lying in bed all day made my muscles stiff and back ached. And its only day 1 post ET! Hope i can strive on! Especially after hubby goes back to work on Wed.

just too early for my question but please help me. when i was on bedrest, inevitably, i do alot of stretching, like what maplebabies experienced, stiffness and ache. did you stretch alot while on bed after ET? Like after my scope, a few days bedrest, i cannot tahan, what more 14-day of bedrest for ivf...

you mean there's insurance that cover ivf? i tot only medisave. is this your first one ivf? hope to hear good news from you. good men, you have 3 embies. so are you going back to kkh everyday for jab? dr loh did the et for you? i am seeing him next mth for my post-scope.

Yes, it's compulsory to buy insurance for IVF. This will help cover part of the NICU medical fees of the babies (touch wood that we won't ever need to claim). The hospital will ask you to pay for the insurance on the day of your ET, and the premium amount differs depends on the no. of embies trsfd that day.

Yeah, so total I have 1 Lucrin std package + extra pkt of 10 syringes + extra pkt of alcohol swabs. I find sometimes the kkh nurses don't explain properly until you ask very specific questions. But it's hard when it's ur first time doing IVF with them so you may not even know what to ask. Good thing you told me abt the syringes earlier, that's why i was reading the form they gave me. Thanks!
