Dream, I din hv my blastocyst done in singapore. It was done overseas. 1 of my embie is of a very good stage though I cant remember.

Chongx2, during my 1st failed cycle, my af lasted for 14 days. For my 2nd failed cycle, it lasted 5 days, stop for about a week n came back for another 4 days. I think it shd b normal coz the body is experiencing a change in hormones as we stop taking the med. For me my menses cycle gt messed up by the interval day count but the number of no of days that Af last by the 2nd mth after failed cycle was the same. The interval day count (between 2 cycles) gt back to normal by the 4th cycle. All these r without any external med aid.
 


woa...i didnt know our af cycles can go so headwire after ivf...then theoretically, we shd wait till our hormones become normal before embarking on fet? so only 4mths later?

Yvejen, sorry for my qn again...cos i usually need to understand fully before making any decision... so u manage to transfer after blastocyst but it didnt result in preg? or there was no transfer at all?
 
Jackzel, keeping fingers crossed for you! I really like quite a few of the nurses there, esp Ee, Tan, Agnes and Rani.

Positive, I am seeing Dr Yong from SGH. I suspect this 2nd short cycle my embryo quality is poorer in comparison to my 1st long cycle. Probably no implantation. Also after the Lupron jab side effects, hot flushes and loss of appetite coupled with the colon problem, I lost 10kg down to 42kg. Is there any way I can improve my egg quality?

I really want to tiao until sui sui before my 3rd attempt. Just called Dr TSB for appointment. She's booked a month away until mid Mar! What are her charges like?
 
Dream, I did manage to trf 2 embies but with nothing frozen. Out of the 2, 1 was quite a gd grade blastocyst. The other was in its early stage but never bfp.
Yes, for me it did go a lil crazy. N tsb feels that I shd allow body to get back to norm on its own b4 embarking. Which I was too late coz she din tell me earlier...only told me after I failed again. Though I'm not sure if other sistas bfp though interval bet 2 cycles r almost back to back.
 
dream > you might want to consider TCM TSB.

After ET, TSB prescribed some TCM for my missus to take, she said something like, it helps to stick the embroy together.

Missus has been consuming TSB TCM for one full year before going for IUI and IVF.

Also TSB will give you a chart to plot your daily temperature, if i am not wrong, from the chart, she can see if your body is 'tuned' up.

Last but not least, if any of you or hubby is working in MNC, should be able to claim this TCM fees, as TSB is registered TCM.

WW Chew > U got side effects for lupron jab and lost 10kgs??? But both short and long protocol will still need lupron as the trigger jab right. This is the jab taken abt 36hrs b4 our ER right? What did your gynae said abt your side effect and any ways to prevent or change another injection??
 
Nitro, i am approaching 34 this yr and if possible, i would like to try again in abt 4-5 mths..
the medicine for the embryo to stick together - do u mean to stick to the lining?
is it difficut to brew her med? i heard hers is brewing and not powder which is more convenient..
and so u usually see her abt once every 1.5 wks?
 
Dreambear, I think the jab is different from the one we use in ivf?? It's not the same as the trigger jab.

The Lupron Depot jab will stop my menses for 3 months. Before the jab the gynae say I have to be very careful with my diet to avoid a re-section of my colon. So I was quite scared of eating, everday it's a painful episode after eating, bloating followed with painful spasms. And I have to lie in bed.

The jab did shut down estrogen production, and I led a more bearable existence. All these led to my weight loss.

After 3 months, the private gynae wants me to go for another jab. He tells me there is no permanent solution. I am doubtful as I still want children and sought a 2nd opinion. Each jab doesnt come cheap and costs $1.5k!

I switched to be under A/Prof Tay Sun Kuie's care. He performed keyhole surgery on me and put me on Visanne for 6 months to shrink the endometriosis. No menses and less side effects.

Another point I want to share, if anyone notices any other pain (eg back pain or gastro prob) coinciding with your menses every month and goes away after menses, please beware that it could be endometriosis. Do seek help early.
 
chongchong> cud be hormone imbalance. sometimes its not mense that cme early but mid cycle spotting. i also had the spotting for 5 days fr D13 onwards. then my mense came on D38.

dream> nt all will hve hormone imbalance. actually dr zou also have medi for embryos to implant. go with what u feel comfortable.

~30% > 35 yrs
~40% < 35yrs

Based on stats, better to try when you are young.

i cannot remember the exact word, cos the TCM speaks in mandarin, and my mandarin is pretty lousy. I heard she said something like "stick together". Will have to ask Missus when she is back later.

When missus started consulting TCM TSB, her daily temperature chart is very volatile up &amp; down. About 2 months of diligent drinking the bitter TCM + plums, can see her chart is pretty stable.

One thing i noticed, most of TCM TSB's patients conceive naturally, saw that when she opened her patient book.

As for brewing TCM, it is easier than cooking instant noodles. just buy that electric brewer, dump all the herbs inside, filled with water, let it boil for 1.5hrs, poured out, and repeat 2nd time.

Missus see her twice a month. She will prescribe medicine for a fornight.

Also, with the chart, she will ask you when to 'make baby' on certain days.

Lin, I suspect my endo cells in the pelvic region had been quite inflamed over the years. The medication is to help shrink them further. I suppose you can enquire with your Dr as this medication is quite new.

I saw a video of my surgery, they had to cut the scarring tissue that has plastered my colon to my uterus and also cutting free the plastered section of my uterus from the back. Saw two big words to describe, adhesiolysis and enterolysis.

Do you know what they do for your surgery? All I feel is endometriosis is a scary disease and stress can hasten it even more.

Just need to stay relax. U started eating egg whites ?

I had 60+ follicles retrieved during my fresh cycle.
He didn't allowed me to do a fresh transfer as I may develop ohss so gotta rest n return for frozen egg tranf..
Try to beef up your proteins in take ...
 
WW, i hav a light backache every now and then but not so sure if it is aligned with AF..is there any way of testing for endo without relying on this symptom?

Blizzbless, hugz hugz..r u alright? why r u giving up?? i rem u still hav frozen embies, right? there's is still a chance..since u already hav a child and is proven u can conceive, then jia you and give it another try... maybe we just rest for a few mths before embarking on it again...

Daylesford, u had a retrieval of 60 follicles? how many were fertilised and frozen and u succeed on ur first FET? cos i also extracted 40+ follicles but fertilised 18 out of 25...so wondering if the quality is impacted by the huge retrieval...
 
Blizzbless, ok...sayang...hav a good rest first and dun think abt whether u wan to go thru again or not...it prob add mores pressure..just leave everything aside and rest and take care of ur son &amp; bil... take care ah..

Jackzrel, what did the nurse say? maybe still hav a chance cos mine was not even 1... can they given u any additional med to support it??
 
Daylesford >> you've had 60!! Wowww. How many was fertilized? I have not started on the egg white as I am still feeling ok, I hope i dont bloat up too much... Currently on my day 3 of my jab. Going to see Dr Cheng this sat to evaluate.

I am also going back to my TCM Doc to continue with my meds again after my 1 month rest since the Laparoscopy op. I truly believe the TCM meds helped me improve my overall Constitution by alot and helped my conceived naturally after drinking it for almost 1 year. TCM works, but it takes time. Meds are also prescribed fortnightly based as our body will improve each time, hence the tcm meds required will be different. I love the customization but hate the visits to see my TCM doc. Long wait ~~~

My current TCM doc is also assisting me to clear my right tube in case if there is any blockage. ( Just in case if in future I have an accident and ectopic again... as we never know)

Do you have pcos? If yes, then quality of eggs might be affected but the overall quality of fertilized embies depend also on the sperm as well not just the eggs so it's a whole pkg. as for lining, ideally is 8-12mm triple lining.

I have slight pcos n retrieved 33 eggs out of which 15 were fertilized. All were grade 3 n 4 according to kkh standard. Transferred 2 n was very blessed to strike on first try. After 2 yrs plus, tried for 2nd child. First fet tried blasto but thaw 8 only left 1 n didn't even manage to wait till day 5 to be transferred which ended in chemical preg. 2nd fet just thaw 2 to transfer n bfn. Both of these were natural. Seems like my problem was very late ovulation like day 20-21 so 3rd fet decided to try medicated as my doc said that waiting too long for ovulation might cause lining to be too old for implantation. Thaw last 3 embies n 1 disintegrated so transferred 2 n bfp with my 2nd child. So if u ask me if blasto means higher chances then for me it's no since my embies seems to survive better in the womb rather than being cultured outside.

For both bfps, I believe being stress free n resting n enjoying my time at home, eating well n healthily. Following the dos n donts suggested on this thread like eating egg whites, brazil nuts, durians n most importantly visualization of the implantation process. Everyday I'll go thru my mind what's happening to my embie. This website www.babycenter.com has very good videos of the different stages.

At the end of the day, it does take trial n error to find out wat works for u. Doc may be able to answer some or all of ur questions but at the end of the day, getting preg is not something guaranteed so have to learn to move on n look forward rather than dwell on why it fails.
 
eskimobaby, sigh...so is really a bet...i thought i could zoom down to the most effective way but seems like is trial adn error..Dr Loh say i may hav a bit of pcos but he didnt really confirm ..actually, i retrieve 46 eggs and out of which 28 are usable size and 18 are fertilised. i transferred 2 grade 1 (based on TMC std) adn which is y i thought i cld succeed...cos this is already the best grade and my lining was alredy 11mm on the last scanning before ER..

but i dont understand...why do we still need to rely on ovulation if we are using frozen embies? i am in the same case as u...cos usually my opk is only positive ard 18th day..so ovulation will only happen ard 20-21...

what's e diff between natural adn medicated FET?
 
The Dr says not hopeful. Asked me to stop medications. But anyway, my flow gets heavier when I reach home. Guess this time round gotta admit my fate. Looking forward to the FET cycle.
 
Dream, i yet to meet up the doc...i am not surprised the doc wld say yes if u wan to do during the following mth..but some of the sis here mention that is better to tiao the body before trying again.. is up to individual..but u do know that, freezing also cost money leh..though not sure if e fees are on a yearly basis.
 
dream. I c until blur, y u reply to urself. I call up. They say at least rest a mth. let the period bk to normal.
I only have 4 snow embies. wil use all by this yr.. if cannot bfp then closed case, wil nt go for another fresh.

For natural fet u still need to wait for ur lining to grow to acceptable thickness n be ready to rcv ur embies so will follow ur natural menstrual cycle. Btw, freezing cost is based on per year so even if u use up all ur embies in less than a yr u still won't get refunded.

Are u with dr tan sb ? She can helped to clear block tubes ?!?!
I also had a block tube n just cant conceived naturally.

I had 60+ follices extracted n after day 3, only 15 were good for freezing. When i returned for FEt, dr cheng suggested doing day5 transfer So i thawed 2 straws. But my "darlings" werent strong enough to survive on the petite dish. Had an " emergency day3 transfer of 3 embbies n thankfully my prayers was answered !

Had numerous spotting episodes before heavy bleeding on trim 2 which scared me off my wits. Dr cheng hospitalised me n gave me mc to rest throughout the rest of my pregnancy. Without his assurance, i may not pull through the pregnancy.

Hmm... I did recommend that u can just eat an egg whites or 2 now. Dr cheng told me before that Our body will need loads of proteins for the follicles to grow. By day 8 of gonal f jab, i was swallowing about 8-10 eggs / day.
 
Daylesford, WOW 8-10 eggs. what you did to the egg yolk huh just curious? So the egg white really helped in the bloating?

Yes I had blocked tubes... Had an ectopic last Nov in my week6 of my pregnancy. Also ttc for 1 year + liao. I am not with Tan SB. I am seeing Dr Low Kim Gek at Tong Ji. She say her meds will try to clear the tube impurities. It takes some time. I wont know the result but I will put my bets on her. haha

So you rested throughout the 6 months? Mostly in bed? Thank god you are fine and well with a baby now! I hope I have good eggs, I hope my body does me proud... I am trying to stay away from all Saturated/ Trans Fat stuff and try to eat more fish dishes. I will start eating egg whites today, following your recommendation :D I am feeling slightly bloated. Hope the scan this saturday gives Dr Cheng a good overview. Fingers crossing tightly.

Where did you buy the electric cooker and how much? I am using the conventional cooker with gas. Once I am not attentive, it will overflow haha. I saw it once at a medicine hall at Bukit Merah, I think it is going for $88?

I noticed my body temp has became more stable after acupunture and taking TCM from Dr Zou. It was even better after my lap operation. Before ovulation, my temp will be below 35.5C and after ovulation, will remain as above 35.5C. Cycle also became exactly 28 days after my lap. I really hope i will hv good results for my coming cycle.
 
hmm...just thinking out loud...is it possible that the tcm medication are increasing our temp? once we stop that, it will go back to our base case?

how does lap improves the cycle?? my cycle has always been ard 35 days...is it not good?
 
Hi Dream,

I think there are many factors to conclude the 35 days cycle. The usually cycle is about 28-32days. With a 35, it also depends on your ovulation day whether did you ovulate and also the luteal phase. The usual Luteal phase is 14 days but if it is less than 12 days of Luteal, this may indicate that you will not be able to sustain the pregnancy well. To pinpoint your luteal phase, you can read it from your Basal chart.

People with a normal cycle may also have low luteal phase as well and if you are late in your ovulation, it will also affect your luteal phase as well. It is interlinked in my opinion. I think if you have always been 35 days, and you have performed necessary checks, it may just be the way your body functions.

But of course, this is just what i have learned and know. You should consult the doctor for your doubts. Maybe you can show your Basal Chart to your doctor. They can advice on that and spot some irregularities.
 
woa...muff, u are so knowledgeable...i think for my case, i ovulate late..cos from the day my opk is positive till the 1st day of menses, is usually abt 18-20 days..so plus minus, maybe my luteal phase is abt 16-18 days...okie...i will ask Dr Loh...though i think he did mentions that basal temp can be impacted by temp..

muff, can u explain further wat are the checks u r referring to? actually, i didnt go through any proper check...i started off with Dr Ann Tan abt 2 yrs ago...think she checked the tube block adn a scan (dunno of what) ...but she say everything is ok...when i move to Dr Loh, i didnt do any furhter checks... did i miss out anything??
 
Dream, thanks to the period of " I need to crazily know everything to get pregnant" phase. hahah.

For the checks, you can do a pelvic ultrasound which includes the trans vaginal ultrasound. Usually they will do it together. This is an ultra sound scan to scan your ovary, uterus and uterus lining sizes and also growths that they can spot i.e. polyps, cysts, etc. They will do a surface scan on your lower abdomen first and then they will proceed with the lower scan inside your body. Sometimes if the lining is too thick or too thin, it may affect the regularity of the menses cycle. But when you go to the Doctor, they usually can already tell if you have thick/thin lining and size of ovary since they always scan us.

It is also important to do your pap smear every year regularly. As long as everything is normal, it should be ok.

Speaking of 35 days cycle, my cousin is also having the same length of cycle. She took Vitamin E for 2 months and it improved the cycle back to 30 days but that is because she was on a 28-30 days cycle and it got hay wired. If you are what you are, dont have to try.

Month Lupron jab last month to stop menses due to endo and adeno. Can I knw which doc r u seeing. Doc told
Me to ivf in mar. Why did u go for
Keyhole surgery after Lupron ? Did yr side effects start immediately after jab?

Pcos and Cyst. First iui failed in dec. Now took Lupron before trying ivf. U mentioned that u conceived first ivf and after fail took Lupron and lap is it?? Did doc say y first ivf fail? Where did u do it?

Trying to down a tray of eggs was really challenging.
The yolkgoes into the bin but i will attempt to down 1 yolk at least. U can start off with 1-2 eggs n see the results on sat.

Remember, its not the quantity but quality that counts. Just look at my case, i hv only a fraction out of the mass to freeze.

meanwhile try not be too nervous. Infact i "spoke" to my follicles during stimulation n my embbies during 2ww.
Think it helps but my hubby scolded me crazy !!!

I bedrested during 2ww and also quite alot during my first trim.
Just as i thought i could enjoy my pregnancy, came the heavy bleeding. Scan showed at there was a big tear btw the water bag n uterus. Its worse than hving AF n dr cheng admitted me to tmc for monitoring. He ordered total bed rest during the 4 days stay... N advice me to rest rest rest. when i went home, bed rested throughout my pregnancy until wk37. This period of bed restting was the most horrendous period of my life.

Now i really want to thank him for all his comforting sessions which i nearly broke down, admitting n monitoring mein hosp, issuing mcs, hosp leaves as well as adhoc walkins scan sessions when i spotted big time after my bleeding episode. Without his support i would hv probably had a MC.

I made all types of eggs, hard boiled, omelette etc but i found drink milo with egg whites was the most managable.
I dare not eat the runny type of eggs by itself

I had lotssa follicles n was bloated so gotta be kuai n down alot of proteins to avoid OHSS. Also i heaard from my obgyn that whites help in follicle growth.

Till now i still got phobia on whites !! !!!!!!
 
Positive, no... 18 fertilized but used 2 for this fresh cycle.. But I rem e embryoist saying they only freeze e gd ones.. So out of remaining 16, only freeze 10 which r of grade 1 &amp; 2.. Come to think abt it, I dunno wat happen to e remaining 6
 
Muff, u can gt the electric cooker fr chinese medicine hall. N it comes in 2 or 3 sizes. Is usually orange in color. Base on the price u mentioned, urs shd b the small one. Big 1 shd b $100 plus. I gt mine fr 1 of the medicine hall in chinatown.
 
Dream, remember for dr loh, u hv to sign stacks of documents. 1 of it u will hv to tick off to choose between discarding or donating them for research purpose. I suppose this applies.
 


And dream, u dun hv to worry too much abt ur womb is not in "order" as dr loh will b anle to tell fr all the scans...esp cysts n sometimes polyps...though for my case he cant really see the polyps growing in me until I went for my lap then he saw n scrape them off.
