Dear All,
I just did my HCG blood test today at KKH. Lotsa baby dust to spread around to everyone here...My HCG level was 6474.1!!
I almost couldn't believe it when the nurse told me. Does anyone know how to interpret beta levels btw?
This is my first medicated FET under Dr Loh. I did a fresh IVF cycle in May 2011 and failed. Before I started, I didn't really have much hope as my menses had stopped for 2 months after my first IVF cycle. For my third month and this current FET, I had to take medication to stimulate my menses.
For the first time, I did fertility acupuncture (no TCM medication) under Raffles Hospital (Chinese Medicine section) for 5 sessions before my ET. My TCM Physician recommended that I drink longan & red date and brew black chicken soup and wear socks to retain the heat in my womb. Post ET and during 2ww, I followed the dos and don'ts as well, NO cold drinks, red bean soup at least 3-4 times a week, drank longan and red date and chicken essence almost daily and black chicken soup at least 3-4 times a week. I also made sure I consumed lots of natural protein in the form of egg whites (at least 2 hard boiled ones for me daily
), black chicken meat, fish and walnuts. I started taking brazil nuts (also a first for me) a day before my ET -polishing off at least 10-15 pieces daily. To ensure I had sufficient dietary fibre in my diet, I ate lots of natural walnuts and fruits (apples, kiwis) and was able to keep constipation away all this while. When I had slight bleeding, I was devasted as I thought my menses were coming and I almost gave up hope....
Looking back, I realised that conceivement really depends on the right timing, luck, faith.....and your mental state
I know I still have hurdles to cross 2 weeks later and the 1st trimester.......
Sorry for the lengthy story, just thought to share my experience and hopefully it may help someone!!
All the best to the rest of the gals here who are waiting for their BT, going thru 2ww or are pregnant!
