hmm....i dunno leh..it seems like only care does such monitoring...my 1st attempt w another pte gynae..he din do this during 2ww...

if u ask me..i feel tht a customised program is as impt at the monitoring.... coz angela ran in depth tests on me n hb before we started cycle w her. previous gynae just put us on stardard protocol based on my age n hb SA results...which was nt gd enuff.

pandawife, Seems that CARE is really v detailed in every single thing. I wld also go to them if money is not an issue. Hw I wish I can strike toto now so that I can resign immediately and concentrate in my IVF and switch to CARE. hahaha...

I am blubbering rubbish again...okok, back to reality. Hee!

you mean CARE's ivf program is a customised one? I know the tests they do are rather in detailed. cos my hubby's semen test was done at CARE, cos my tcm dr say CARE very detailed.. =)

hmm.. do you tink CARE will bother to monitor other patients not under them, during the 2ww?</font>
 
miracle - u have to contact the clinic to find out... i don't think panda would know...

same time u can also ask on the cost if they do provide such services

yes... i always have that intention....but now that i hear what about Panda's situation, and shoes, i feel that, 1 BT is not enough. And im veri scared.

I dun want to be worrying here and there during the 2 ww, it will be very torturing...</font>
 
yup..angela will customise the meds n dosage to each individual....

for my case...we were given 2 mths of med to prep the body before embarking on cycle... n she felt tht my gynae overdose the puregon in my 1st attempt. w her...i has slighly lesser eggs..but better quality n oso higher fertilisation rate. 1st attempt transfer only 1 embryo n nothing to freeze. with care i transfer 3 n freeze 6.
 
miracle, ya, I also find that govt hospitals don't provide close monitoring during 2ww. But since I hv chosen them, I need to trust them. If really something crops up in btw, I will go to 24hrs immediately or if not, I wil go to my normal gynae immediately. Worry now also will not help.

Many gals here also bfp under govt hospitals. if you do not trust them, and keep worrying the support and monitoring is not enough, you wun feel assured to embark on the cycle de.

Is there any reason y u r so concerned abt the 2ww?
 
miracle..if u go see angela..she will tell u the success rate zt her clinic is the same as other clinics or hospitals.

i can only say mayb with her..higher chance of multiples.

saseme is right..u hv to trust ur doc ...otherwise ur cycle will b v stressful..which is not gd

Maybe like what you and Pandawife said, I just have to trust kkivf. I trust dr loh. He gave me the feeling that i can trust him. But sad to say, i never trust kkh. I never thought i would need kkh to help me to conceive. But looks like, now, I can do nothing but to trust them.

Just pray hard I can get this over smoothly, and move on... lolz...</font>
 
miracle, worry too much now won't help. Who knows yours will be a breeze and all these worries are undue?

If touchwood, if something really crops up, I am very sure the helpful ladies here will help us. We still have each other's support. Remember? Therefore, just stay +ve at the moment, eat healthily, got time go walk walk with hubby will definitely keep you relaxed.

Like you, I never like KKH also. But sometimes its really funny, the more you dislike tt thing, the more you will get it.

Everything will be smooth. Stay happy and +ve! Don't forget I am ahead of you. Haha. Anything I find amiss, I will alert you ok? Haha.

even afte bfp there is the 1st scan to worry abt ..thereafter 2nd scan .. etc etc ...

there is no end to the worrying on this journey...

helping a friend to post, she is thinking of IVF but a lot of Qns in mind, anyone can help to advise.... thanks

1. any recommendations for doctor and hospitals? and price too
2. can use medisave to deduct? how much deduction and how much extra to pay in cash?
3. any side effects from the injection? eg. vomit etc
4. how the IVF preparation works?

yvonne... answering ur questions as follow

1) docs and hospital are very personal, depends on ur friends budget and whether she wans gov hospital or pte clinic

2) 1st 3 attempts can use medisave, first attempt 6k, 2nd 5k and 3rd is 4k balance all cash

3) side effects of injection is very personal too, depends on how her body react to the med

4) ivf preparation not much, take some supplements, no coffee and tea

thanks. both govt and private hospital can use medisave? Her Budget is tight but not sure what is the price range (heard is from 6k to 10k)..

can advise what are the common side effects?
 
yvonne - both govt and pte can use medisave, at govt there's additional 3k grant but only can put 2 eggs. other sisters here can advise on the cost of kkivf

I know lucrin side effect is mood swing and hot flush, like those u get during menopause. puregon side effect is nausea and the inject point will be red
 
Thomas Fertility Centre - est 15K (can use medisave)

Raffles Hosp - est 14K (can use medisave)

KKH - est 10 to 11K (can use medisave + govt grant of 3K)

Side effects for lucrin, puregon &amp; gonal f can google online cos different hospital does not use the same injects sometimes

<font color="aa00aa">miracle - please dun lose faith with KKH, I have history that I've not shared with u all, so my case is not as straight forward. Nonetheless, Dr Loh had given me a good chance of BFP, and it did happen, just that my body is having trouble keeping it.

Will get more debrief from him tomorrow but please, dun think KKIVF is not good. I think they are, esp. for the cost. The nurses and docs have been responsive when I needed them to, waiting times are fair too. Think really good value for money - esp. when that's a concern for many of us here.

To be honest, budget was never a concern for me. I went to consult both pte and public and went with public as a concious choice, without any budget hinderance. Just want to point out that both options are great - just that some of us may need extra 15k worth of attention whilst most are fine with just that extra.

Most IVF clinics are "factories" anyway, and trust me, I've been through them

gers in 2ww now .. do u have like a dull ache at the torso area starting from naval till under breast area ...

i seem to be having a dull ache if i stretch too much ... don't know is it due to the constant coughing i had for the past 2 days that caused the ache

miracle, wah, you dun make me stress wor...one thing for sure is each individual body is different and hence we will react differently to the jabs. Just read to have a gist of everything and remember, take everything with a pinch of salt else you will be too stressed up even before the program start.

Miracle, i had the same thinking as u when i had my 1st ivf. I wonder y NUH dont give extra monitoring during 2ww. At least KKIVF monitor ur BT and see if extra support is required. For mine, i dont. Onli get to see Prof once to check for bloatedness. Support is 1 x crinone inserts daily. I told myself perhaps less is more but still somehow cant help hoping for my supports. So i can understand ur worries. Since we hve chosen our doc, we have to trust them and the clinic protocol ba

I nvr squat at all since ET already, my front load washing machine i also ask my DH to load the most i bend is at waist level bending down...
