Gan, I m back... Doing nothing now, except wait for my 1st ivf cycle starting jun... Long irritating wait... havnt seen any jun cycle buddy yet... wat time were u @ Doc Zou last sat? I was thr in the morning...

Its ok..
Be it single or twins, have their own pros and cons. Last nite when we were on our way home, hb suddenly tot of alot of things. Have to buy things in double, etc. But most imptly, we r not so confident if we could teach them properly. Haiz. But now I juz hope they will grow healthily and stay inside as long as possible.

Thanks for the replies. i'm kindda lost reading all your threads and it seems so positive that u gals sharing happy "twins news" or "successful transfer" etc... I am happy for everyone. Can anyone let me know which hospital you are doing the programme? We are definitely going for second opionion but dunno which one to go. I was previously with NUH. I love the nurses team but doctor wise, he's too factual and tend to say he has no answers. How helpful is that? The money , time and effort we spent is not for them to experiment on our bodies, that is why i am so mad and dissapointed.

Then think u won't want to go KKH too .. cos its been termed as a "Production Line" over there .. from wat i read no clear explanations will be provided also.
You might want to explore going into Private where the level of service should be higher. But then the cost is also like thrice as much...

I did my programme w Thomson Fertility Centre- Dr Cheng. But you can only use medisave and there are no other subsidy from govt. To me, I will prefer there coz be it ER or ET is done by Dr Cheng himself. Anyway he will be on leave in March, not sure from when till when but there will be another doc there.

You can go to CARE @ Paragon to have a consultation with Angela. She is the Chief Embryologist there. See what she says. Angela has good experience handling complex infertility issues.
I failed ivf once last year in Oct with another pte doc, currently going through my 2nd fresh cycle at CARE.

Diveera, u doing blood test this fri at 9 wks? If u doing NT checks at KKH, I wld advise u to call n postpone ur blood test date to a later date. So tt ur result is more accurate n wun get False alarm. Blood test is to be done between 9 to 11 wks if I am not wrong. So, schedule blood test at the tail end of this period. Call n ask the nurse when is the latest u can do. Ur scan at 13 wks shld be fine. But am not sure if KKH will check all bb's organs or wld just focus on taking bb's neck thickness.
Alternatively, u just go straight to Camden for 14 wks detailed scan. The Cost is similar to the total cost u paid for at KKH for blood test n scan.

holidaygal, if u want a detailed explanation and investigations on the cause, my personal opinion would be kk wld not be recommended as there are too many patients doc may not have time to explain. Maybe seek views from private gynaes but cost will be higher

new here. We have been TTC for more than 2 years. Seen gynae last year and tried Clomid for bout 4 months but no good news. Now trying natural lor.

Not sure about IUI. The cost of IVF depends on the d dosage of drugs, how many eggs are retrieved, how many embryos are freezed, etc. It prob can go from 10- 16k.

My gynae already checked leh. She said both ok. And I responded well to Clomid. Just bo lor.
She suggested IVF, not IUI. Reason being something like IVF better, chances higher compared to IUI.
Thing is I tot u go IUI first then IVF if no news rite?
I tot wanna see Dr. Loh but just now I googled for him and I saw another mummy's blog about him.... and I'm having 2nd tots about him.
So I was wondering if anyone saw him. I tried during this period which I gauge my CM and hope for the best. But if no good news, I want to know what is the next step I shd go. My hubby always say I give pressure to myself. Especially now a friend's wife just given birth, and another friend's wife suspect preggy liao. I'm like so envious and sounds crazy but I feel so sad for myself.
And my colleagues here.... 1 already got kid and tryin TTC. Some tell me they "hit" 1 time when trying for their 1st, 2nd or 3rd child. Largi more sianz.....
So shd I just go IUI or straight IVF? I dunno if I shd shop for another gynae or stick to my current one. I stopped seeing her for bout 6, 7 months liao.... she's quite nice and I feel comfy wif her but thing is she is more pro towards IVF and I heard a little bout IVF and I'm scared honestly speaking....

Pressure is no good for conceiving. Maybe you will want to seek a second opinion and see what he/ she say then decide.
Frankly, IVF is not an easy thing be it financially, mentally or physically. Initially Im scared too coz I have to jab myself as my hb is scared of jabbing me. But once you overcome, I think you will be a brave ger.

Jinnous - understand what you're feeling. I've been feeling that throughout these two years. All my friends getting pregnant... those who got pregnant when I first started TTC have gotten pregnant again!
my hubby also feel like that - don't have means don't have lor. But i feel very sad sometimes. his brother who got married one year after us already got baby, i know my hubby also feel sad at times...

btw, I think the hardest part of IVF is not the jabs, the pills, the scans, the retrieval and transfer process - its the possibility that despite all that, it still might not work, and you hv to do it all over again.

Its important that your husband is supportive of going thru ivf together with you. Like what Skies said, it can be a difficult process. There will be times that you will feel upset, frustrated or scared.
You can talk to your gynae to find out more about ivf or do some web research so that you can make an informed decision as to whether u want to embark on the journey.
Taking the first step is always the challenging part, all of us have been thru' it before, bt once you are in it, you will overcome all the difficulties.

Did your doc analyze what is the possible reason for the failed cycle? If you go for your 2nd round, it will be FET?
I have also personally experienced the sadness and disappointment of a failed cycle. It took me 3 months to recover emotionally and gather the courage to think of trying again.
But I refused to just give up after 1 try, in my opinion, the 2nd attempt will be better because of the previous experience. Doc will know what did not go right, and try to fill the gaps. We are also emotionally and mentally more prepared having gone through it before.
So its definitely worth trying again!

I am going to start my 2nd fresh cycle end of this month. Have been preparing the body the last 2 months with the necessary medicine and supplements. There wasn't any frozen embryo from the last cycle due to poor fertilization rate. You are fortunate to have frozen embryos for FET. Take a break, and start FET when you are ready.

I was @ Dr Zou @ 11am.. might hv juz caught u whn u left.. yup, I m taking her med, acupuncture, folic acid… for me, although the issue lies with DH sperms, Dr Zou seem to b preparing my body for IVF in Jun.. since no harm to take, I juz went with it…

I asked him tt qn, asked my TCM, asked the sisters here, & in the end.. my personal conclusion.. since our aim is to hv kids, might as well go for the one tt is more assisted, i.e. IVF.. esp. for me whr IUI may not help much since DH sperms arent good..

I reali cant imagine hving the guts like u gals to jab urself… but I knw tt since I hv chosen tis path, I ll walk it thru.. & I oso knw tt I hv a lot of sisters here who ll understand wat I m gg thru, & who ll help & support me along the way.. esp. thse who hv went thru IVF before.. & rite @ tis point in time, tis is 1 blessing tt we can count on, despite tt we arent blessed with a kid now.

queenie, good to prepare ur body for ivf. And keep urself healthy. I had a bad cough throughout the simulation, 2ww, the cough never recover until after 2ww. So i guess the failure cld be partly my body was not in top form.
At dr zou now waiting for my turn...... Coming today since i will be in phuket this weekend. =)
Jinnous, the probably of striking thru iui is similar to us trying naturally. Alt if u want iui, can do so iui as uwill have more follicles so probabilty will be higher compared to iui but so iui needs injection too.

Fashion spree, congrats on getting this far. the most important thing right now is to rest and not be so stressed out abt it. I know, easier said than done. i remember during my 2ww, every little symptom, every little twinge, pain etc will stress me out. but really try not to think abt it until pregnancy test.
as for food, the nurse at TFC told me to just act as if I am pregnant... avoid food that pregnant women should avoid eg cooling stuff, raw food, alcohol,and don't lift heavy stuff etc. Hope its good news for you!

Dear Ladies,
Just to share... i guess my ivf cycle is gona be one of the longest..
I started my First Lucrin Jabs on Feb 9 and till now (1 month later) I am still jabbing Lucrin daily. (30 days) yet still Stage 1 of IVF.
I went for 3 bloodtest (all came as normal) but have to wait for menses to come. I keep telling the nurses if my menses doesnt come then how...
No one answers and just say you come for your bloodtest. Well tomorrow I am going again.
I feel like giving this whole thing up...

Hi Jeinthiangel - do you know what is the blood test for? are you doing FET? Lucrin is supposed to supress any ovary activity right, and usually its taken the month before stimulation starts. Hang in there... just think of the potential reward at the end. it will be worth it!
