If I were to embark on another cycle, dh dun agree to let me cont wif NUH anymore...
The main reason is bcos there is no frozen embbies and it is a risk for us...cos we still got 2 more chances to get govt grant...so will be more careful abt it...
Overall, I m still v satisfied wif NUH's service, the CHR nurse are v helpful and Prof also v straightforward...

Mine is a D4 transfer cos my D3 happens to be a Sunday...
If u hv many eggs, then u can culture them till D5, bt if there is not much eggs...the disadvantage is tt there will be no frozen embbies or even for ER.
Only v tough and good eggs can survive till D5...
And the best place for the eggs is the womb...

Rostrum, did you ask Prof that will he do it if you request for D3 freezing?
So sad that you will not be with NUH. Anyway, do what is best for both of you. If he is not happy with NUH, go somewhere that will make you feel better and assured. So it will either be KK or SGH rite. Ask around and see which is the next best place for both of you.

The last time when I met him after my miscarriage and the follow up for D&C, he did ask me if we are interested to go for another cycle and we said yes. I asked if anything will be done differently and he said no as he felt that i did get pregnant.
Maybe this time round, i will propose for D3 freezing if possible. At least, i can keep for future use. Same like you i got no frozen embbies but on top of that only had 2 left and i think they are really bad quality as it stopped growing at d3.

Rostrum today shld be my D1 although not so heavy...hmm that would mean my FET is coming soon.
Actually kkivf is ok, just that the whole process you don't see your doc at all except for the first consultation, ER and ET. so some may not feel comfortable as all communication is through the nurses.

Saw Dr SF Loh today. I used to have endo and did ops back in Sept 08 to remove it but Dr Loh said my endo is back again!!!! Why me again?? I broke down on hearing this....He suggest I remove it before proceeding with IVF, but I dun wnat to go thru the whole operation process again and asked to try for IVF fist and have been scheduled for Mar.
Any mummies who had endo previously but managed to conceive thru IVF?

Went to see Dr Yu SL at SGH today.
Besides commenting that my retroverted uterus would cause difficulty in ER and ET (it did cos it was quite uncomfortable last time), she mentioned high chance of endo and suggested laparascopy. However, b4 going for a lap, she ordered CA-125 blood test in which a high figure MIGHT suggest endo and also another blood test to check on my ovarian reserve (can't rem the name). DH would need to take 2 other tests - DNA fragmentation and some 'sperm binding' test. Hopefully these tests would give us some idea of what to do for the next fresh cycle.
Ladies on HGH (growth hormones), may I know which is the type you are given? Care to share your opinion abt this option? thx

Hi kitty, i did hv endo before and got it remove through lap before going for the FET. Not sure if endo was the cause of the fresh cycle failure but i remember my gynae did commented tt usually if detect endo best to remove by lap before IVF. And also to do IVF within 6 mths window after lap as the chances to succeed is higher. I did the FET 3 months after lap and it was a success. Was also told that lap doesn't permanently remove endo and it might reoccur, thus another reason to do it w/i 6 mths window

Thanks for sharing infomation, I am surprised at the comprehensive test that SGH has to offer such as ovarian reserve check.. how do you find Dr Yu ? Are you comfortable with her..
I must say that most ladies here are with KKH or NUH.. and some with ptve hospital....
but if CARE can pinpoint the exact problem...then should stay with them.
What is high growth hormones ? Do you mean progesterone or puregon/ Gonal F
I am at my 2ww.. Of course i hope that i BFP ..but i have more or less decided that i am done with KK and will move to NUH..if i dun succeed

I am in a similar situation as you, retroverted plus endo. Did a lap last yr before my cycle, but still failed. This time round, doc not doing lap anymore, I am taking oral tablets instead.
My DH also went for the DNA fragmentation test. I tink the protocol that my clinic is using is quite similar to the SGH one.

Although SGH orders for more tests, the tests are not 100% conclusive so the results can only give us an idea of what the prob is likely to be. These tests alone cost up to $600+.

Did you experience any side effects while on Saizen? May I know what was your fertilization rate like? My embies fertilized but they were of poor grades. Did you take a long time to recover from the lap? Are the oral tablets to thin the endometrium? Were the findings from the DNA frag test helpful?

Let me try and answer you.
1) So far no side effects from saizen. Doc also told me there isnt any side effects. Its easier to jab as compared to lucrin and puregon. The needle is really fine, and fairly painless to jab. But its a very expensive drug... i am with pte, one month supply of it costs $919.
2) I has 18 eggs ER, they ICSI 12 and only 2 fertilized. Out of the 2, only 1 was good grade (8 cells) on day 3.
3) Lap recovery is fairly alright. No pain at all, just have to avoid walking too much so tht we dont stress the wounds (2 little ones thts about 1cm each). My doc gave me 10 days HL and ask me to rest at home. But after 4-5 days, i felt well enough to go back to work.
4)I have an endo cyst in my left ovary, the last cycle, doc do lap to remove it. This time, the med is to try and remove the cyst, bt not sure if it will work. Have to go back for scan next week to check.
5)DNA frag test shows a higher than normal level fragmentation, hence DH has to go on high antioxidant supplements to improve it. He will have to do another test before we start ivf.

Now i know more about dr Yu SL...Is there any sis here with the same doc ? What about the success rate of SGH ? In KK, it is about 40%. In NUH, it is about 1 in 3.

I started my growth hormone therapy last weekend. So far so good.. but work is very stressful, i am trying very very hard to relax... nurse told me during the next 3 months, i must try to relax..as it will affect the egg quality.
I will be going CARE again next week on day 2 of menses to do scan, check if the cyst is still there.
