Becoz of endo, Angela says my eggs quality is probably similar to someone who is 38 yrs old. Hopefully the growth hormones can improve the quality... I also hope can make it this time.. doing daily jabs for so many months is quite a torture...

Its probably embryo did not implant.
Even if there is sufficient prog support, bt if no implantation also will not work. Be strong and try again, we are all going through this together.

July - hugs for you ... we also had another sista similar to your case but she try again and she is currently now preggy already ... so dun give up and dun wory too much k ... take ur time to grieve and try again when u are ready ....

I failed my 1st IVF but thankfully i'm currently preggy from my 2nd try IVF... I take a longer time to plug up the courage after my 1st failure (6mths) but luckily for me, dear hubby is always there for me to motivate me and standby my decision ...as long as we persevere, one day we will hold the best gift in our arms

i read an article that says that according to Suresh Nair ..it is a miracle that we will BFP at the first attempt. Most pple succed at the second attempt.
 
July 2007, sorry to hear abt the result. But don't give up ok. Take sometime to get over and try again when ready.

Judebabe, i started going out the 2nd day but walk slowly. Do what you are comfortable with most imptly don't strain yrslf.

icic.. mine is different from u. I did everything with my gynae and only see Angela during ER and ET. Haha! My gynae did all the scans for me..Ncm la.. all the same.. as long as we succeed, its all the same.. Right? Are you doing your FET in Mar? I am.. Maybe can see you at Angela's clinic... Haha!

Can't feel anything for ER but for ET and past 2 IUIs, it was painful and difficult when putting the embies or injecting the sperms.

I've been hearing differing views from different gynae.
Dr Loh recommended lap straightaway after I saw him a few years ago when he noticed my retroverted uterus during the scan. He said it's very likely I'll have endo.

Dr Sadhana says if I've chosen to embark on ivf, a lap is not necessary. She was not concerned abt likelihood of endo also.

Prof Wong did not order for a lap but some blood work (not sure if it's similar to SGH but it's likely) prior to my next cycle.

Dr Yu said doing a lap's the best way to find out cos endo could affect implantation and she said she'd only 'disturb' the ovaries etc if there's a need. If not, she just needs to 'take a look'. Hence, minimal recovery period.

Because of all these, I'm always undecided on lap. It's costly and gotta factor in recovery period but seems like I can't run away from this for long.
 
Muski, i remembered dr zou telling me one of her pt had a surgery done by a SGH dr to correct her womb position and conceived naturally. But i m not sure hows the position of her womb and dun know the surgery she had was lap...

Lyn, yes.. all our $ go to bb making attempts. i call it buying the "chance"... as it is not a guaranteed return.....

Muski, dr loh is experienced doc. He has reasons if he suspected u hv endo.

Yes, with endo, u need to get it treated b'4 ivf. Coz it will reduce the chance of implantation. With lap, doc will check ur ovary also for cysts n tube blockage, etc
 
Muski, previously my gynae, gd friend of dr loh said no need to remove polyps coz womb so big not necessary embyro will plant at where polyps were. Is logical also.

But dr loh said remove the moment he saw me 6 mths later. He said he wants a perfect womb when do ivf. He said we spent so much efforts n time on ivf, he dun want anything to hv a chance to ruin the success rate. Wat he said is true also

Yup, agree with what you said about embarking on ivf when the womb issues are sorted out. I'm just a bit skeptical at first cos some gynaes just order a lap to have a look inside and if there isnt a real need, it's cost and pain incurred.

Now that you'd mentioned, Dr Yu also mentioned the possibility of my uterus being 'stuck' to the pelvic floor or something like that. It sounds like correcting the position cos she said she can 'unstick/unplaster' the uterus and hopefully it could be less tilted or be back to its normal position.
And yes, endo may affect egg quality also.

Seems like if my blood work shows a high chance of endo, I'd go for it!

Judebabe, Lyn, i dont know how many days MC KKH gives because before they tell me how many days they want to give me, i already tell them i just need 3 days.

Rostrum, you are experienced with the red dates and longan drink right? Can i ask you how many red dates and longans in a cup?
 
Tickles, I wish i am doing FET. Very likely to be doing fresh cycle during Mar.. i m suppose to b on growth hormones therapy Jan and Feb, and start cycling in Mar. Angela says need to do another DNA frag test for my DH before starting. So depends on the outcome of the test also. Possible that we might bump into each other there..

Muski, Dr Yu's advise sounds good. It seems like you have many good reasons to go for lap. Dont worry too much about the recovery and pain. Its usually a less than an hr procedure, and you will discharge the same day with minimal discomfort. I would say even less discomfort as compared to ER/ET.
 
Kitty, I'm not that sure whether I still have endo before I did IVF last year, however, I know that I still had 1 cyst which has not grown since 2006. Both my earlier gynae and Dr Loh did not suggest removing it coz it was small...nevertheless, I have fibroid since 06 which is not removed....
 
Good luck to those who are currently trying now or in your 2WW. Try to stay happy and positive throughout the process! Don't get overly paranoid over the scan or test results..
 
july *hugz* sorry to hear that but dun lose@heart ok. I had a failed cycle in dec and dr loh said can try fet using fed menses, but wld advise u consult ur doc and at the same time seek his view abt why this cycle not successful.

sunflower seed, i usually put 6 or 7 seedless reddates plus 4 or 5 longan into a 500 ml thermal flask and bring to office to drink. Will add wolfberries too.

sisters, we can't eat ice cream before ET?
 
Muski, retroveted womb is common n dun affect chance of pregnanc. But endo will. It Is actually a sticky problem but solvable. Just need more patience. Seem tt more than 1 doc suspects endo, I think it wld be gd to do lap n find an ans. Coz, a lap can uncover other problems if any n doc can rectify on the spot. Dun worry abt the pain or discomfort level. Coz end of the day it will nv be worse than labour pain n the recovery thereafter.

I used to be scared abt delivering last time coz my wounds heal slowly n my threshold for pain is super low. But now am pregnant, surprisingly Tat is no longer my worry or in my thought. All I ask for is a healthy bb n the rest, no matter how painful I m no longer scared.

Did u try prune juice and sweet potatoes to ease ur constipation?

Yup, it seems almost certain that a lap is the answer.
Though my threshold for pain is not super high, I'm not so worried abt the physical pain but the 'damage' to the reproductive organs if the lap is no t performed properly. So I need to find a dr I can trust to do it. Maybe it's cos of stories I've heard of how lap have gone awry or was not helpful at all...
 
Muski, yes very procedure there is risk. But no worry, lots of good n experienced doc around for u to choose n u will be in good hands.

Gan, I just entered into 11 wks. 1st trimester is full 13 wks. Will hit that in cny. Colleagues hv noticed the burge though n asked, but i just smiled.
Actually, I honestly believe tt god n my deceased fil hv been blessing me n bb. If not things wld not hv been smooth since bfp despite having low hcg. I continue to pray to god a few times a day n visit my fil's niche every wk. Coz a lot of things r really beyond my control. Am 37 this yr, high chance oscars overall test wun be gd coz the blood test numbers r lousy to start with coz of my age. But still, I believe tt my bb will br fine coz god n fil r watching over me. My fil was a very good dh n father if u know the history n he loved children alot. He died in his sleep suddenly just a few mths b4 our wedding. So, I believe tt he will watch over his unborn 1st grandchild.

Dr loh was happy with the development when he saw me at 9 wks n will only see me in 5 wks time when I m in 14 wks.

Sorry to hear abt yr loss, did Prof commented anything? Perhaps u might wan to check wif him? I m sure he will gv u his view...though there is no reasons as to y an IVF will fail...

Usually I will put ard 5-6 seedless red dates, 2-3 dried longans and some wolfberries into a 500 ml thermal flask and usually let it soak for 45 mins...
Then I will drink ard 2-3 times from there...
 
Hazel, you are not old at 37 lah.....remember that Pandawife says that 40 is the average age for ladies at CARE paragon....hehheh

I just turn 35 last month...have been TTC since 33...Let's hope I get some result by 38...
Also you are ex SIA girl... right... should be quite graceful...soon you will sure be a classy mummy... CNY coming.. going Maternity shop and buy something to make yourself happy !!

How are you feeling ? how is your 2ww ? As for myself... i am ok.. something i feel a tight pull at the left side,, dun want to be paranoid ..hehhe btw anybody know when can test ? 14 days ok ?

I try to eat healthily like Fish Soup...just to play safe.... how i miss my braised duck with sea cucumber, cereal prawns, rojak, hehhe

Judebabe, I feel nothing and since i transferred past my normal ovulating days (my normal ovulating days would have been around day 14 - 16) at only around day 24 of my normal cycle this month, abit worried in the next few days around day 28 - 30 (my normal cycle is 30 days), my menses will report despite progesterone inserts. Then the embryos will be wasted because they would not even be ready for implantation yet.

How long is your normal cycle? Did you transfer past the normal ovulating days like me?

That time your transferring at day 26 would mean transferring near to AF due date in normal cycle, but you still manage to maintain progesterone level to prevent it from coming and thus BFP. Then how much progesterone you took - was it also twice daily cyclogest insert of 400mg each?

I am worried my progesterone inserts not enough and that AF will report prematurely despite the inserts. My cycle is normally 28-30 days so somewhere around day 26 onwards, will have strong smell down there abit like blood smell thats when i am quite sure menses reporting soon. Today is D26 and i am having the same thing! Abit worried progesterone inserts not enough and menses might come in next 2 days. If it really comes then this cycle is wasted because my embryos should be around day 4 only as at now, havent even ready to implant, my lining cannot and should not shed yet.

I understand what you mean..What if AF resports as normal although you have progesterone inserts. I dun have the answer but I remember that dr Zou has mention that AF is due to insufficient progesterone. Since you DID put the insert..AF shouldn't report so soon. IF you are worried, why don't you call KK on monday and tell them you transfer past ovulation and is more cyclogest necessary for you

Also nobody knows where implantation will take place. Maybe the embryo implanted already ?

Rostrum, I seriously think my case is really divine help. So, be believing in tt I will more at ease. No, I m not converting yet coz am not ready. But, I really believe if I pray seriously, god will still help me. The amazing thing is every sat when I step in novena church I will feel unwell... Headache or nausea. Can't help but think tt is bb's response to knowing tt am in church praying for him n her... So, I believe tt god is helping me...

Yes I believe in divine help too...bt despite my consistent praying all these years, my prayers are not heard...kinda disheartening...bt will still carry on as perhaps God might think tt its not the right time for me now...
Wah...u go to Novena church every Sat....tts good...sometimes its good to seek assurance via divine help...

I m hving mid cycle spotting...has been 3 days already...v fed up...tink tt my cycle has gone haywire evasince the failed cycle.
I hv checked wif Dr Zou and she says tt this is O spotting and will be gone in a few days time...haiz...I nvr experience this before...v sianz...

Finally ET on Friday. Seed, same as you I waited for Dr Loh for half an hour to one hour cos he had to do a last mins ceasarian.
My bladder was so so so full because the nurse keep asking me to drink thinking Dr Loh had to do a last min and will be late. In the end she had to ask me to release abit of urine. All that release hold release hold hurts. After ET, I pee a lot too. I did not ask about lining and grade cos did not want to give myself much pressure. As per normal after ET, but sleep a lot.
 
TangTang, great to hear from you. Glad everything went well! Ya, i also release hold release hold, think i went toilet at least 5 times! After ET, all let out at once, so painful, even kidney area also hurts. Waaa, what an experience.

Glad its all over. Now i am worry if my menses will report on day 28 (today is day 26) despite progesterone inserts because i can smell musky smell down there - the usual smell whenever AF coming. Hope it dont come on monday, will be too early.

Don't worry. Stay positive and relax yourself. Let the day pass by and don't count. We both will be blessed. BTW, think with Dr Zou herbs for 2ww right?
As for me I did not take Dr Zou herbs.
 


TangTang, ya, i took her herbs, dutifully everyday lor and the progesterone inserts and the progynova pills. Also wear bedroom slippers and drink the red dates & longans drink and eat brazil nuts.

Did the best i can liao, the rest is up to God.
